Reviews for Cortijo Catifalarga Alpujarra

Review 1:Complete lack of information on arrival with nobody to ask, not even a notice to indicate the procedure for checking in. When eventually we did get in via a phonecall, there was no information about breakfast, Internet or anything else! Other arrivals of various nationalities were similarly disappointed. Rooms clean but dining area not up to standard.

Review 2:Good view and sitting area on terrace. Peaceful location. Out of the village and good for stargazing.

Review 3:We are a family of four that stayed one night. Three of us were bitten by bed bugs - one of us badly resulting in four days of coping with over 100 inflamed, itchy welts all over the body.

Review 4:The view. The pool was a savior for the kids.

Review 5:Just wish could have stayed longer and had time to use lovely pool!

Review 6:Amazing location short walk outside Capileira (ask about the "short cut" along the acequia out the back which is esp. fun returning by moonlight after some liquid refreshments in the village...). A tiny friendly family-run "hotel" (more rustic farm stay). Proper simple accommodation, avoid if you need pampering or click-of-fingers service (more availability for rest of us!). Made very welcome on arrival by owner, free to grab own drinks from little bar when un-manned on a trust basis! Hiked from the door into town and off up the stunning Poqueira gorge for few hrs, paradise!

Review 7:Spectacular view from the terrace (each room has an individual one!) over the valley, very friendly and helpful host, hiking trails start right in front.

Review 8:In the telephone call we were also told that there would be someone there the next morning to serve us breakfast. (Which we did not order and thus did not expect; so no problem anyway) The next morning nobody was there until shortly after 9 am. We phoned again, but the number was busy. Since we needed to catch a plane, we left the key at the main room desk, left and had breakfast somewhere else. Probably the payment will take place over the credit card guarantee. No problem, but a bit strange.

Review 9:The village Capileira is almost at the end of the road in to the Sierra Nevada. A beautiful area. The Cortijo is beautiful and clean. And, very important, there is central heating! The price is OK, but we could not pay anyone since the host was not seen. To get into the apartment we had to phone a number that was put on the door of the main room. We were then told the apartment number and that the key was in the door. But that was OK.

Review 10:We arrived so late (3 am) we thought no one will ever answer the door or the phone but they did!!! Highly recommended, location is amazing for relaxation or mountain activities.

Review 11:Would have liked the room preheated before we arrived.

Review 12:Loved the view and spanish flare, owners were helpful and friendly. Very clean place. We were there in the off season could be why the glitch.

Review 13:Worst potholed access road ever! Zero hospitality! No staff! Just a crumpled tel no. stuck to door. Told to let ourselves into room-key in the door! Tea&coffee making facilities in room were 2 teabags and 2 sachets of sugar. No milk no coffee. We had booked dinner for 8pm and no-one appeared! Had to return to village via potholes! Breakfast in morning was toast, cake, and coffee served by a lady who we had to go looking for! No choice offered! No wifi as advertised. Swimming pool not available as it was not clean! Felt the place was shut down for the season and they were just chancing it taking bookings!

Review 14:Location wonderful! Views of mountains stunning. Room 2 with its' lovely terrace. Very comfortable unique and rustic style bedroom and shower room. So wanted to love this place but there was so much wrong here!
