Reviews for Hotel Dammenmühle
Review 1:Restaurant staff at times is also responsible for reception, and check out duties, causing some wait times at both ends.
Review 2:Friendly staff, good breakfast, beautiful property with private lake and some exotic animals.
Review 3:The charming old architecture of the buildings is a challenge to having reliable internet connection. Nevertheless, in this day and age, it would help guests enjoy their stay even more with improvements on this front.
Review 4:The layout and 'rustic' feel of the hotel helped me feel relaxed. Dogmas S at the reception in particular is a real asset to the property, to whom no requests for assistance were a bother. The brewery eatery complements well the hotel's restaurant.
Review 5:Poor breakfast. Staff only german speaking, no english menu; banners and instructions only on german. Staff polite but cold, not the friendly behavior we mediterranean like. We were the only non german clients in the hotel.
Review 6:Awesome and stunning location. Excellent restaurant. Quiet and confortable room.
Review 7:Surprise closed party for Edeka firm. Enjoyed the entertainment. Nature was energetic! MAde their own beer, fantastic.
Review 8:Well it's true that the bed in our room wasn't that great andsome refurbishment is probaby a bit overdue..... Just enjoy the placefor what it is !
Review 9:This is an amazing place in a great setting. The owners write their ownrules, so a 'box-ticking' review is a bit irrelevent. Just enjoythe place, its history and tradition. How do you measure the benefit ofa late night row on a beautiful lake accompanied by a family of blackswans (cost: 2 eur.) or the taste of the fabulous (cloudy) beer made atthe hotel throughout its long life?
Review 10:Maybe that is only because they gave us a room in another building, but wi-fi and TV were not working at all. We were waiting for about 20 min to check-out, because there was noone on the reseption. There is no place to eat aroung the hotel, only open-air pub or something. And there is not air condition in the room.
Review 11:It's a stylish place. Nice area with animals, small mill-weel and other village staff. Close to Europa Park.
Review 12:The service was quite poor, no one spoke much English and the room was nice but quite plainly decorated unlike the communal areas. The double bed was really 2 singles together and the pillows were very thin.
Review 13:I loved the building and grounds. The lake area and grounds in general were very picturesque. The breakfast was also very good
Review 14:We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food was very oily and full of salt... other then that- the hotel was great!
Review 15:The hotel is in a very beautiful place, there is a small lake with lots of ducks and other farm animals. You can rent a small boat and sail into the lake and feed the duckies... really a great experience! The room itself was nice, had everything we needed. Good breakfast, but with no vegetables!
Review 16:Hotel Dammenmuhle is near Kurzell, Germany and perfect for me as I was researching my Kurtz family roots. What a bonus the hotel was for us. My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful meal by a small lake/pond surrounded by trees and a tiny zoo with happy well kept animals (lammas, rabbits, goats etc). There was a dance floor and we liked the music. The hotel was absolutely spotless with lovely woodcarvings everywhere - typical of the Black Forest region. Our room was large and comfortable. The only drawback was that the bathroom was on the dark side and though it had been cleaned it needed some renovation. I would definitely go back here but ask for another bathroom.
Review 17:There is nothing bad about this hotel. It is in a wonderful location, they serve beautiful meals including a wonderful breakfest. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The location is by far the best in the area. My wife and I stayed there 20 years ago and again two weeks ago. It has aged wonderfully, yet advanced with the times. You could not ask for more. Highly recommended. It is the perfect place to start your vacation in the Black Forest. We are coming back again in two years and plan on staying there again.
Review 18:The Dammenmuhle offers a wonderful chance to experience a rural setting. The birds, ducks, guinie fowl, peacock and horses all contribute to achoir of sounds throughout one's stay. The lake with the very tameswans, turtles and ducks would be a delight to everyone especiallychildren. A helpful, friendly, smiling staff adds to the relaxing, enjoyable atmosphere. Having a drink or dinner by the lake on a warmevening really is lovely.
Review 19:No sheets on bed, only a mattress cover plus duvet. Only ourselves andanother couple taking dinner at around 7pm.Waitress forgot our salad andnever asked if we required a dessert and/or coffee.Got the impressionthat she wanted to go off duty and close the restaurant down. Would notstay here again.
Review 20:Not very much, except excellent breakfast. Interesting location adjacentto a wood and lake. Lots of animals and birdlife
Review 21:- Hotel situated along a busy road- rooms in a secondary house, less charming - basic room comfort, but ok seen the price conditions the worse point is the noise, as we could even understand what was said in the room next door and were unable to sleep as they were watching TV. so if you plan to stay there, request a room with NO neighbors if you are able to drive 15 min away, there is a lovely village called Gegenbach which i guess is more convenient even for a "short stop".
Review 22:Charming main old mansion, small private zoo, small lake, horsesfood is okay
Review 23:very friendly staff, beautiful decoration, clean and comfortable rooms
Review 24:The building is fantastic, and the location is excellent. It's like staying in the 19th century. An awesome experience!
