Reviews for Hotel Löwen-Weinstube
Review 1:It was a bit of a challenge finding the hotel and maneuvering through all the detours, but once we arrived we wanted to stay forever!i
Review 2:We were absolutely charmed with our stay in this historic hotel. There were many things to stimulate conversation as we had our evening meal in the dining room. In the morning we awoke to the sound of market stalls being set up in the town square outside our window.
Review 3:Parking is nonexistent near hotel. Check in then need to drive to off site parking lot a good 10 minute walk from the hotel. Be sure to get your parking pass at check in and drop all bags off.
Review 4:Meersburg is a great stay for a couple of days....lots of good restaurants and wine to drink and things to see.
Review 5:We had a feeling that we are not wanted guest. We were traveling around the lake and this was the only hotel without proper "garage" for bicycles.
Review 6:Our room was on the third floor and there's no lift. To be fair the staff did offer to help take our luggage up. But 3 long flights of stairs was a bit hard work, especially after Meersburg's steep hill from the lakeside.
Review 7:Spacious room, comfortable, very convenient location.
Review 8:I did not like the fact that they did not bother to tell me how to get back in the building if it was locked and no one was at the desk. Also, wifi was supposed to be available throughout the hotel, but that isn't true...it may be there but they do not offer the log-in information unless you request it which is not made clear in their advertisement. Thank goodness for the owner of the hotel across the street because he had to come over and find the information to give me about the wifi (and told me if it didn't work, I was welcome to come to his lobby and use the wifi there) because no one was at the desk. Cell phones do not work in the hotel and neither does the data on your cell phone. I had to go outside in the misting rain to call someone about the wifi not working. Need to put extra roll of toilet paper in the bathroom...not fun to run out and have to use kleenexes, but thankful for the Kleenexes in the room.
Review 9:The location was great! Breakfast was very good. Parking was close and reasonably priced. Lady at check-in was helpful...with the exception of not giving me the log-in info for the wifi.
Review 10:We ate dinner at the hotel and enjoyed the local fare immensely - especially the Bodensee trout and the locally grown wines. Great location to explore the old town and the old schloss. Great to seat in a 500 year old building.
Review 11:Communal minibar was serviceable, but not ideal. Very limited parking, but, in fairness, the staff was able to accommodate our car. The hotel lacked an elevator.
Review 12:Lowen-Weinsube was a delightful vine-covered hotel with old-world charm in the center of the city. We were expertly served outstanding food at one of their sidewalk tables. Breakfast was equally inspiring The staff were very attentive and helpful and the location was ideal; circled our map and vowed to return for a longer stay.
Review 13:Perfect location. Staff were very friendly. Room & Bathroom very large.
Review 14:perhaps the steep hills to the lakeside
Review 15:ideally situated, pleasant helpful staff
Review 16:The location was good I didn't have a vehicle so was great to be central to the town and the whole stay was good value for money for me
Review 17:All of it , staff breakfast, charming old hotel perfect location, just wonderful
Review 18:Enjoyed the quietness of hotel. Nice area .Friendly and helpfull staff
Review 19:wifi reception very poor in room
Review 20:friendly staff, good breakfasst
Review 21:Parking 10 minute walk away though you can stop outside hotel to unload suitcases. No lift.
Review 22:Comfortable spacious room. Excellent breakfast.
Review 23:parking is a bit of a hassle. need to get to the hotel (GPS takes you to a no entry street) and then they will give you a permit to a near by parking lot (to park for free)
Review 24:our stay was great, we enjoyed it very much, the service was excellent. breakfast was good with fresh croissants and local fresh fruits. the room is wide and spacious and the view is great.
Review 25:Parking was available but some 10 minute walk away and in a public car park. Had we realised this we would not have used this Hotel. No area to sit relax or chat, could easily be achieved by converting one room which just sat unused in an evening.
Review 26:Character of the Hotel and it's location. BestBreakfast choice of any Hotel we have stayed in. Honesty bar was also a positive and very reasonable.
Review 27:Lunch service was slow and pricey. Parking may be limited, hotel in a pedestrian zone. I rode a motorcycle and was able to park at the hotel.
Review 28:Great location, right in the heart of Meersburg, easy walking to all the attractions. Room very comfortable, clean and good Wifi connection. Great breakfast with eggs, bacon, bread, pastries, juice, coffee, etc.
Review 29:My room was at the back, over the kitchen exit - cigarette smoke from kitchen staff on their break filtered up into the room when I had the window open.
Review 30:Loved the room, but would have liked one with a better view. The bathroom was a generous size, clean and all the appointments. Felt safe!
Review 31:It was a bit cold in the room. Price could be less expensive.
Review 32:Very good location. Good breakfast. Nice personnel. The hotel is old but cozy. We were suggested free parking and internet.
Review 33:There was nothing not to be liked!
Review 34:Atmosphere, surrounding small township, walking trips in the vineyards and along the lake, scenery, hotel location, beauty of the hotel, good food, nice extra: a ferry trip to Contanz, good service
Review 35:Can't remember any particular downside.
Review 36:The location is with no competition. Not that Meersburg is a particularly big place, but the address says it all - Marktplatz! Simply 5 minutes from everything (except the ferry dock which is down by the lake). The breakfest was very good and the staff were nice.
Review 37:Nothing!
Review 38:Lovely hotel, beautifully situated in Meershurg. We really enjoyed our stay there. Large, comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast, would stay again.
Review 39:No negatives for us.
Review 40:Very friendly staff. Historic environment while offering comfort. Excellent breakfasts, food. Central convenient location with ample excursions choices. Good parking plan for car. We had a wonderful week at the "Loewen- Weinstube"
Review 41:Parking
Review 42:I loved the Stay at Lowen The hotel style is amazing full of antiques. Staff where great help and nice The town itself is really old and so many interesting things to see The best place to relax and walk around nature
Review 43:When it came time to pay for our stay, we were charged 7.70 euros aperson for our breakfast for both days we stayed there even though itwas included in our overall price for the room. I pointed this out tothe woman behind the desk and even showed her my agreement fromBooking.com that stated this. But, she said that she had to charge usbecause we had already received a large discount on the room!!!!I did not think that was fair but paid it in order not to create a scene. Incidentally, the breakfast was very good.
Review 44:I am very familiar with this hotel although I had never stayed therebefore this last trip. Many years ago I used to visit Meersburg morefrequently and I fell in love with the history, location and romanticappearance of the hotel. The restaurant there is to be recommended aswell. I enjoyed staying there very much and would do so again.
Review 45:Restaurant very good food. Location close to everything. Very clean. Parking very close.
Review 46:Breakfast could be better
Review 47:I like the classic way the hotel was kept Staff are very nice
Review 48:Loading & off-loading was a challenge thanks to the Christmas market.
Review 49:Great location, nice room & good breakfast.
Review 50:历史的酒店,房间布置用到了很多以前留下来的物件很有意思。可以步行到达城中各处。
Review 51:Pillows were not suitable and too few
