Reviews for Hotel Strand Cafe
Review 1:Had to ask about wi-fi, then only provided with connection for one device (no explanation) even though we were two. No fans in room.
Review 2:Great location, very nice staff!
Review 3:Parking a bit of an issue. Couldn't get down Spitalgasse to unloadbecause it was blocked (was ok when we left). The designated carpark wasfull and had to wait for a space in the public one as that was alsofull. Had to go back a couple of times to resolve this. Mainly an issuewith Meersburg as a town and it's popularity, especially at theheight of Summer! Wifi was a bit 'patchy' (depended where youwere in the room!).
Review 4:Fantastic large room with plenty of space and balcony over the lake.Friendly staff. Easy access to boats on the lake. Loads of decent eatingout options from basic to high-end quality. Lovely relaxed atmosphere.
Review 5:superb accomodation in a fantastic setting, right on the lake. Gizela, thank you so much for the coffees and the hot chocolates! we will definitely recommend your hotel to our friends. Tim, Chris, maddie (aged 9) and jackie (aged 7 )
Review 6:The only thing I can think of is that I missed being able to have a bath - and the shower was rather small. But this is a minor detail; overall the whole experience was very positive and we'd definitely stay again.
Review 7:Our 2nd floor corner room, facing the 'see-promenade', with two lovely window views (making for good cross ventilation). Room spotless, beds very comfy. Owner Frau Gisela Maier couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming; in fact everyone was very friendly & accommodating, making us feel very much at home. Breakfast buffet was lovely - fresh fruit, breads, good selection of cold-cuts, cheeses, smoked salmon, etc. .. and of course, very good coffee! All enjoyed in the most charming (an overused word, but it suits here) setting. An absolute gem.
Review 8:Some noise from the bars on the Promenade if the bedroom windows were open, but OK.
Review 9:The owner's friendliness, hospitality and local knowledge. There were plenty of options at breakfast from fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, various types of bread, plus eggs - boiled, scrambled or fried. Great views from second floor room over the lake.
Review 10:Unfortunately the restaurant kitchen closed at 6.30pm and we only had one evening meal there as a result.
Review 11:We had a very good room, overlooking the lake and there was a good variety of food for breakfast. The proprietor and her daughter were very friendly and helpful, both speaking good English.
Review 12:Beautiful location right on the lake. Nice though small room. Wonderful breakfasts and the owner is very pleasant and efficient. We were very happy here.
Review 13:We liked everything about the place
Review 14:This an absolute gem of a little hotel. Wonderful staff and the owner (Gisela?) did everything to make the stay the memorable occasion it was!
Review 15:We were in a "small" room which was comfortable but very small. The hotel closes at 7 pm and so there is no lounge or other area to use and there is no WIFI.
Review 16:Ideal location on the lake side promenade, excellent breakfast in a lovely dining room and helpful friendly staff.
Review 17:Good Location, great staff
Review 18:Nothing
Review 19:View was superb, very friendly owner and the breakfast was first class. Best bread ever.
Review 20:Bathroom was very small
Review 21:Spacious and stylish room with great view
Review 22:There was no lift, lived at 3rd floor. The cafe closed at 18.00 in the evening.
Review 23:The location, kind staff, fine breadfast.
Review 24:Amazing location right by the shores of the Bodensee. Friendly staff and a great breakfast in their quaint dining room
Review 25:The charm of the hotel. The outstanding location. Breakfast was superb. Nothing was missing!
Review 26:No refrigerator in the room
Review 27:A fantastic small hotel located Direct by the sea. Large newly decorated rooms. Very friendly staff.
Review 28:nothing
Review 29:we had double room with a balcony. loved everything about this hotel. helpful friendly staff and outstanding breakfast with lots of variety. Location on the waterfront was superb. great bike storage.
Review 30:The owner made every effort to assist me, especially regarding the parking. A very friendly lady. My bedroom was a single bed sitting room with a wonderful view across Lake Constance.
Review 31:Would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Not easy to unload baggage outside and then move car to carpark but as you certainly don't need your car everyday not too big a problem. German hotels still have very strange pillows? [take your own if you have neck problems]
Review 32:Location next to all the restraurants on the promenade. So many to choose from. Beatifully decorated rooms and immaculate bathrooms. No traffic!! Easy access to all the ferry and boat excusions on foot [ 2 minutes away] .Easy walking distance of everything in Meersburg and Meersburg is something very special!
Review 33:There was nothing not to like.
Review 34:Location excellent, staff was great and the lake made the southern Germany heat wave seem like a treasure instead of a burden.
Review 35:Nothing at all
Review 36:What a fabulous hotel. Right on the water on the promenade. Stunning views, surrounded by cafes and easy walking to everything in Meersberg. We stayed here for 4 glorious relaxing nights. The staff is lovely, right down to a personalised breakfast table. Loved loved loved
Review 37:This hotel is situated on Lake Konstanz. It is an absolutely gorgeous setting and the hotel is beautiful in every way, the setting, the attention to detail of the staff and the food. Our room had a balcony with a view over the lake which was so stunning. Meersburg is a lovely town with so many restaurants and bars and a few days spent here is well worth the time. This is our second visit to Meersburg and we will definitely be back. We are in love with the Hotel Strand Café with the beautiful rooms, fantastic breakfast, all with the stunning view of the lake. Just magic!
Review 38:Not a thing..all was superb.
Review 39:There are many places to stay in Meersburg but the best (and only in our opinion) choice by far is the Hotel Strand Cafe. Top notch hotel in all ways, location, staff (English spoken by owner and very helpful and friendly), building, comforts, breakfasts and restaurant. We felt at home and well cared for in the most lovely site and truly were sad to leave and would stay there again and will recommend to our travel agent and all friends heading that way. Dave and JoEllen Victoria, BC
Review 40:no free wifi rather small bathroom no aircon - temp was 37 deg
Review 41:superb lakeside location in lovely old town spacious lake view room friendly pleasant staff very good breakfast with nice fresh fruit
Review 42:the owners were very nice and friendly and made one feel comfortable. The room was nice and large and had a balcony with a view over the lake. It was right next to the ferry in the centre of the little town, so it felt quite lively. But still, it was such a small town, that was quite ok. Nice holiday feeling.
Review 43:As the hotel sits on the waterfront there was a reasonable amount ofnoise from people staying late in the bars below, but this would only bea problem to business users who need a early night due to early meetingsas the bars closed at a reasonable time.
Review 44:Excellent location, very friendly helpful staff, excellent selection atbreakfast (as part of the room price), peaceful and respectfulatmosphere created by decore and staff, good hotel security.
Review 45:Parking was a little far
Review 46:Staff, restaurant, quiet area, good views, nice size room
Review 47:- location - facilities - breakfast
Review 48:Location very beautiful, Breakfast very good.
Review 49:Just a recommandation for the Germans to skip out of their savourlessand be more open.
