Reviews for Hotel Príncipe de Asturias
Review 1:Problem with public parking. After 20 minutes of driving around the hotel I have found underground car park directly behind the hotel.
Review 2:I had a room with seaview, so it was really nice. Stuff was really friendly. Breakfast was also ok. Rooms are old-fashioned, I found only one power socket and it was directly in front of the bad, but for 1 or 2 nights it is ok. Behind the hotel you can find Lidl and other shops.
Review 3:It's an old hotel and it shows, I got a room in the back that was quite plain. Radiator was in the long corridor so room was quite cold, even the bet sheets were made more for warmer months. Fridge turned off with just two plain waters, no tee making facilities, the whole hotel had just 2 vending machines.
Review 4:The hotel is right on the beach (except the road going lengthwise the whole beach). Staff was nice. The room was clean. Nice breakfast with great view.
Review 5:Tried to book massage for 2 people impossible Not tea or coffee making facilities in room Minibar empty Very small bottle of water in room on first night only No food or room service available in the hotel outside of breakfast In my experience definitely not a 4 star rated hotel
Review 6:The view from the bedroom
Review 7:Very few English satellite channels. Hotel is a little bit old. (most of the hotels in Gijon are old).
Review 8:Location is very good and the view is magical. Staff are nice and helpful. Room is comfortable.
Review 9:really weird distorted floor in room, higher by the windows and lower in the middle Receptionist could not help with information about parking in front of hotel
Review 10:stunning seaview and awesome location on the beach promenade
Review 11:Old decoration and furniture. Bedding not comfortable. Entrance to hotel not easy. Temperature of the room: mostly very cold with no chance to heat. Quality of breakfast: not very good products.
Review 12:location and view. Easy check in.
Review 13:No free private parking. Breakfast was very poor with fruit from the can and coffee not so good. Expected more for the price
Review 14:Room was considerable good in size and comfort with a wonderful sea view. Reasonable distance from center but requires some walking
Review 15:Nothing
Review 16:Great view and enjoyable walk on the beach and around town. Suite was spacious with everything we needed. Good breakfast with views overlooking the bay. Parking nearby.
Review 17:Parking is said to be available, all be it local. Well they have 3 spaces, even though I booked many months ago I did not get one. Parking is half a mile away from the hotel and cost €20 per 24hrs. Breakfast was anything but fresh.
Review 18:Staff location
Review 19:No AC. Sometimes it got a little stuffy, even with open windows.
Review 20:The sound of the waves, the amplitude of the rooms, the location. Easy parking access. no AC, though. But the room kept cool with open and polarized windows.
Review 21:1) Rooms do not have an air conditioning system hence the window has to be kept open for cross ventilation - However the roadside traffic noise at night is disturbing at time due the open window. One has to pick a choice between noise & ventilation. 2) The hotel does not have a restaurant.
Review 22:Proximity to the Beach. Friendly behavior of the hotel staff.
Review 23:Room a bit neglected - missing bulbs, dodgy electrics. Shower unit in need of repair (though functional) Staff a bit chilly! Wifi hit and miss
Review 24:Location and view Comfortable bed

Review 47:no mini bar...only water inside
Review 48:view
Review 49:Breakfast a little on the expensive side
Review 50:Their attitude to pets and humans was greasy
Review 51:Everything
Review 52:Las almohadas
Review 53:a bit outdated hotel
Review 54:excellent price nice location very clean
Review 55:For me it is not really a 4 stars Hotel, overall it was too expensive for the value for Money
Review 56:Very good location, just next to the nice beach
Review 57:no bar facility & could not get coffee after breakfast had finished
Review 58:Noise of the AC system in the room. Few international TV channels
Review 59:Nice big rooms, clean and still modern Hotel.
Review 60:The cost of the parking: 15 euros per days a lot of noise in the hotelwith the windows close.
Review 61:The place very close to the beach
Review 62:the location. The view fro the room and from the breakfast room.
Review 63:Very old facilities.
Review 64:Decor in the room was very dated
Review 65:Location on the seafront.
Review 66:Nothing to say.
Review 67:Value for money, very good location, very close to the centre, staff were very helpful and friendly, very large room.
Review 68:Wifi, free but slow. Extra pillow would have helped.
Review 69:Great views of the beach, and location.
Review 70:In my opinion it did not warrant a 4 star rating.
Review 71:Parking was a problem in this very busy seafront location
Review 72:The location and a really lovely room The staff were very helpful and friendly
Review 73:Please, don´t waste your money in this hotel. The cleanliness is horrible, the worse I have even seen in an hotel. I wont even recomend it to my worse enemy.
Review 74:The only possitive thing to said about this hotel it´s the location and the staff that was OK.
Review 75:Some customers complained about the hotel being dated, which I do agree, however balancing pros and cons I can live with dated rooms as I dovalue good customer service, which is what we received from everyone atreception, breakfast restaurant and cleaning staff. They all werefantastic and most professional. Rooms clean and spacious and petfriendly hotel. I would also like to mention that hotels in the areawith more upto date décor costs double the price.
Review 76:Excellent location, just opposite the beach. The staff in receptionreally makes you feel welcome. They all were attentive to detail, informative about the area, restaurants etc. and always anticipatingcustomer needs, true professionals. It was a bonus for us that it is apet friendly hotel as we were travelling with two dogs. I would highlyrecommend this hotel to anyone.
Review 77:Breakfast buffet did not meet the expectations for a 4-star hotel in the area. Supplementary food for breakfast (e.g. eggs, bacon, fresh orange juice) was available at an exorbitant prize. Many of the facilities were not working. Room service was not available (although it was advertised, and price listings were placed in the rooms), and it had not been for a month. Same regarding the night bar. Satellite TV (foreign channels) did not work, a still screen was shown. Safebox was not working in two different rooms, although the staff fixed that quickly. Same regarding elite room facilities. Tea water heater had not been used for a while and needed cleaning. Hot tub was not usable at because of a leakage that spilled water throughout the bathroom (even when just having a shower). Wifi was working, but quite slow and unencrypted (beware of entering passwords in non-secured sites or apps). I guess guests do not usually take advantage of the facilities, and just enjoy the view and closeness to the sea.
Review 78:Thew views to the sea and being just in front of the central area of the beach. The city of Gijón overall.
Review 79:No coffee making facility in room very rare in 4* hotel Views lovely but spoiled by very dirty windows.Amazed it got 4* with no bar or restaurant
Review 80:Reception staff, and breakfast lady excellent.
Review 81:No wifi in the rooms, and it was advertised as having it, no air-conditioning in the rooms and the breakfast was very poor for a fourstar hotel. As one comment I heard from a Spanish lady, it isn't upto standard for a four star hotel.
Review 82:Close to the beach
Review 83:Two things: The views are very important, so it is not understood whythe windows are so dirty. For a four star hotel, is inappropriate thatthe bathroom has no toothbrushes, toothpaste or shampoo, only offersshower gel.
Review 84:The relationship - Quality - Price - Location. The staff is excellentand very professional, the sea view from the fifth floor is exceptional. At breakfast you can eat all you want, it has everything and only costs6 euros per person (served on the ninth floor with sea view)
Review 85:the great view was damaged because the windows were not very clean
Review 86:great view
Review 87:Very convenient from the Gijon Ferry port, excellent sea-side location and lovely breakfast.
Review 88:The breakfast was minimal but adequate.
Review 89:The view of the beach is beautiful
Review 90:No restuarant no bar no cafeteria no handlesin shower
Review 91:The staff
Review 92:No wifi in room
Review 93:Location, helpful staff, clean
Review 94:Old world elegance and very pet friendly
Review 95:Breakfast Room and the view
