Reviews for Hotel Ratskeller
Review 1:Although breakfast was lovely our experience was tainted by a very rude waitress. Firstly she gave my friend a filthy look when she asked if she and her husband could have a second mug of tea. Then when I sat down with my plate of food from the buffet she stopped abruptly as she passed our table, opened her eyes wide as if to express her absolute horror at the amount of food I was planning to eat, and then adopted the most distainful look while continuing to look at my plate! She continued to stand not 18 inches from our table for several minutes looking over every few seconds at the food on our table and all the time scowling as if we were sacrificing a small child for breakfast! It really was quite bizarre! A different lady took over the dining room then and she was lovely. Even though I have never met such an ignorant woman serving tables before it would not put me off this hotel as everything else was absolutely lovely.
Review 2:Perfect location in the centre of this delightful little town with cosy rooms and a lovely Italian restaurant. Christian the owner/manager was a very friendly man, and he helped us to lift our bicycles down into the cellar when we arrived. The breakfast was lovely although we did have a very unpleasant woman overseeing the dining room! Other than that I would have to say that this was a perfect choice for a stay in this lovely area and I would highly recommend it to other travellers.
Review 3:If the hotel owner wants to improve the quality of his already very good hotel, maybe he can think about replace the mattresses and find a solution to darken the rooms (the early day light comes in too early...)
Review 4:The hotel is very clean, the hotel owner and his staff are very friendly people, the food is great and Zell is a top location at the Mosel river. We only can recommend this place. We had a very good time at the Ratskeller!
Review 5:Staff are friendly, helpful and some staff are fluent in English. The hotel is an older building but is exceptionally clean - not only was my room very clean, the public areas were spotless. Very comfortable bed.
Review 6:Parking was a nightmare - one space free available next to hotel - could not move car between 10 am and 10 pm as pedestrian area (but we did anyway) otherwise pay at meters along the river which would be very expensive for a longer stay
Review 7:The hotel was in the centre of Old Zell - walking distance to river - shops - restaurants etc. Exactly as described and would fully recommend other than parking.
Review 8:Nothing
Review 9:Quick check in and out. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Rooms very clean Right in the centre of town, with plenty of free parking available nearby.

Review 15:None
Review 16:Great location in Zell village centre, no luxury but fairly good. Nice personal and own bike garage. Good restaurant and breakfast
Review 17:Location Friendly staff Good breakfest
Review 18:Television did not work in my room. WiFi did not work in my room.
Review 19:Clean and quiet room.
Review 20:This is not a hotel in my opinion, it is a restaurant with rooms overhead, and there is no real reception area, no guest lounge, no tea / coffee in room or any real assistance with room or luggage, bedrooms are not spacious. It is central in Zell, but that's it! Breakfast finishes at 9.30, and you have to find a staff member if you want tea, as only coffee is available. Sorry I booked in advance as there are many guesthouses in the area which would have been more convenient for parking and cheaper, with better value for money.
Review 21:Not a lot.
Review 22:Warm welcome when we arrived at lunchtime even though the staff were serving meals. Secure cycle storage in the cellar. Hotel is above a good Italian restaurant right in the middle of Zell, and very convenient for the Moselle cycle route. Good breakfast too.
Review 23:near city
Review 24:There is no balcony for each room as booking.com writes on their website. No elevator.
Review 25:The location central in Zell
Review 26:Centrally located in Zell, ideal for exploring the local area and of course a glass of wine or two sat outside.
Review 27:No complains
Review 28:Perfect location, friendly staff and good value for money!
