Offering panoramic views of the valley, the Bergwald enjoys a very quiet location above the village of Alpbach, right at the edge of the forest. Free Wi-Fi is available.
Located at 1,350 feet above sea level, the Bergwald is a traditional Tyrolean guesthouse. The Moser family, who owns the place, has been living here since the 11th century.
The rooms and apartments all have new bathrooms and a balcony with mountain views. The Bergwald also has a sun terrace with mountain views. Smoke detectors are installed in the entire property.
In the morning, a variety of breakfast options is available. Half-board is available upon request in the nearby restaurant Rossmoos. Drinks are available in the house.
Information about nearby sights and activities, as well as ski passes, is provided at the reception. Toboggans can be rented free of charge.
The center of Alpbach is a 20-minute walk away. Free private parking is available.

Review 1：Nothing-but do make sure you rent a car. Cheap to rent and easy to drive around.

Review 2：It was a home away from home. We are from the US but live in Dubai. We just came back from spending Christmas there and it was everything we could ask for. Very romantic and relaxing. Katharina was a great host and very helpful with anything we needed.

Review 4：Just come back from a wonderful stay at Bergwald. The house is in a perfect location quiet and peaceful just above the town with stunning views. Katharina is the perfect host, a lovely lady who is always looking after her guests and making them feel at home. The house is spotless with a beautiful new sauna, we can't fault Bergwald and highly recommend it.

Review 5：Nothing. It was really lovely. the location is away from the main village but we enjoyed the peace and tranquility as well as the fantastic, ever changing view from our balcony.

Review 6：Katharina, our host was extremely helpful. We were in the process of selling our house in Australia and had to urgently sign and scan back documents, which Katharina arranged for us. She also helped us to arrange transport to Munich. We are very grateful for the extra service. The house itself is really lovely, spotlessly clean, and at this time of the year, decorated beautifully and tastefully for Christmas. Thank -you for a great time!

Review 11：The Alpbach valley is beautiful and Gasthaus Bergwald is the perfect place to stay so as to explore the area. The rooms are very good with balconies giving great views. Katharina is the perfect host, always there to answer your questions and gives great advice.

Review 12：- Not a complaint but a suggestion: Alpbach in general doesn't offer much to pedestrians, so if you plan on staying for a long period best to come by car

Review 13：- Fantastic view over the village of Alpbach with the Alp peaks in the background - Katharina is a fantastic hostess and really goes the extra mile to ensure you enjoy your stay. In our case my wife caught the flu and didn't have any medicine, but Katharina provided some from her own medicine cabinet - The nicest sauna I have ever seen. Beautifully done with a door leading to the backyard where you can cool down in the snow - The half board option at the Rossmoos: fantastic food and great value for the asking price If you are looking for a magical stay in a winter wonderland with a fantastic view you can't really do much better than this.

The views were outstanding. I cannot recommend Bergwald and Katharina highly enough.

Review 33：Bergwald is such a good bed and breakfast. Honestly I've read the post of some guest on booking and took my decision to spend a few days at Bergwald. Definitely exceeded my expectation. Excellent full breakfast served by Katharina Moser (owner) who suggested on the first day a list of activities to do in Alpbach, which was very useful . Anything you need Katharina is prompt to help you. Her family is traditional and has a long history in this village. You will see the surname Moser everywhere. I suggest you to have dinner at her sister's restaurant and try the roasted potatoes with eggs and salad and a delicious local wine. You really deserve it after a full day skiing.

Review 35：We stayed in March 2013 and had a fantastic stay. Katharina is a great host and Bergwald was the perfect venue for a relaxed weekend trip skiing. Will likely visit again.

Review 36：The house was lovely, as was our hostess who couldn't do enough tomake our stay a pleasant one. Our room was very well appointed, and theview across the valley was stunning. The restaurant just up the road wasalso very good, and good value. It was a 20-minute walk down to thevillage -- though that took a little longer on the way back, especiallywhen carrying ski boots!

Review 37：Katerina Mosel was wonderful as our hostess. The location is terrific and she helped my business partner and I to pick three lovely treks over the weekend we stayed. She also suggested a restaurant within easy walking distance, Rossmus. Their ambiance, food and service were all great. The beer was good too! The rooms are fine, the location perfect, and, given the chance, I will return.

Review 38：Internet connection in the room was not good so had to go down to the public area. Not all rooms face down to the hill which was bit shame.

Review 39：Quiet and peaceful place. Located on a hill and little bit away from main town of Alpbach which I wanted. So we enjoyed very much. Relatives restaurant is 5 minutes from B&B and sunset from that restaurant was superb.

Review 40：Not many but you need a car to reach the hotel. Hotel is outside Alpbach town to bring your supplies with you. The bathroom had a low cealing so I had a problem taking a shower :) Hotel had no elevator so make sure to ccommunicate with Ms. Moser if that is a problem for you.

Review 41：The scenary. Before anything the view out from the hotel to the valley is breathtaking. The hotel is about 1100 Meters above sea level and you can see some clowds below you!! Ms. Moser was extremely freindly and appologetic for putting us in an appartment instead of the two rooms we booked, but that worked out fine. We only stayed one night but my kids and I wish we stayed more. Breakfast was good and the room was comfortable and the wifi worked ok. The appartment was clean and the kitchen was fully equipped, in case you needed to cook or make hot drinks.

Review 42：Bergwald was a jewel. We were new to the area and first time at Berwald. Booking.com was very efficient and helpful. The view from our room, #1 was spectacular and Katarina was so kind and helpful. Breakfast was very good.

Review 43：Beautiful setting with great views of the mountains. Catharina was friendly and even met us in town so that we could follow her to the hotel when our GPS didn't cooperate.

Review 44：The owner is the only person on site. She alone does absolutelyeverything. From receptionist to breakfast, public relations, waitress,bakery, laundry, manager. You cannot escape her as she even prepareseach and every cup of coffee and egg herself for the thirty guestsduring breakfast. Over the top politeness can be overbearing and turnrather freaky when problems arise. The owner seems to have an obsessionfor positive online reviews. She will beg departing guests to please, goonline and write her a positive review. Even in the bill there is afinal reminder, in case you did not get the message. Bedroom walls arepaper thin. Very bad for noise from other rooms and corridors. You hearabsolutely everything that goes on the same floor and also from theapartments above. Her elderly mother does the rounds cleaning all therooms and apartments, up and down the three sets of stairs. .When oneextended family of ten loud adults and two hyperactive children arrivedto stay for a whole week - house regulars that visit every year - I feltuncomfortable with the level of noise. I kindly requested to thelandlady to leave the hotel three nights before my agreed departureoffering to pay 50 euro as a gesture of goodwill. She turned white andstarkly refused demanding I pay 150 euro penalty payment if I wanted toleave early. This I considered to be rather desperate and greedy,especially since I had spent nine nights already paying the full 50euro/night. The following morning I express to her my dissatisfaction ather service, asked her if she pre authorised my Credit Card. She wasfurious. We had a discussion and parted in very bad terms. During my tennight stay in Bergwald, I only saw ham on the buffet three times.. Andno more than four slices. Pork sausage and salami you have a plenty.Supermarket milk cartons and plastic uht creamers for coffee. Walking tothe village is lovely but beware it takes a normal person half an hourminimum, in winter and that is downhill.
