Reviews for Zum Fischer am See

Review 1:The room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and had beautiful shower room. Staff were polite and helpful, meals well presented and of a high standard from a wide menu including fresh local fish. Situated five minutes from the motorway it is ideal for an overnight stay but the lake and area has so much to offer for much longer which is our intention.

Review 2:Restaurant was terrible - worst food of 10 day trip! Not so friendly staff. Rooms were okay but just hotel rooms - pictures were deceiving on the website.

Review 3:Easy to find off the A8

Review 4:I loved the friendly atmosphere and the food. The service was great and the room very comfortable. I originally only booked 2 nights but decided to stay an extra 3 days. As they didn't have any rooms left, they found me another hotel not too far away and booked it for me. The location means that you either need a car or you have to walk 2km to the boat departure, but I enjoyed walking everywhere. If you are too tired to walk into the centre of town, you can always catch the Chiemseebahn, which is a lovely old steam train that takes you as far as the train station. I love being in Prien and Zum Fischer am See is the ideal place to stay.

Review 5:The staffs were too busy for the restaurant, so they were not friendly at all.

Review 6:smell in the bathroom...like a not moving water in the pipes.

Review 7:amazing nature landscape

Review 8:Peace and quiet. Excellent breakfast

Review 9:Our room had just a view of the car park. Worth requesting one with a view.

Review 10:Beautiful outlook over lake. Excellent restaurant. Friendly staff.

Review 11:good food! Very clean. Very nice breakfast atmospher and service.

Review 12:When we arrived, it was clear we were searching for Reception but nobody offered to help us find it.

Review 13:It was an overnight stop along the German Alpine Road - the food was good and the room was entirely adequate

Review 14:Very bad smell is (sometimes) coming from the toilette. Only minus, honestly.

Review 15:Staff was very professional and very pleasant. Accommodation is fair, cleanliness on a high level. Location is superb, next to the lake.

Review 16:We had decided to have an evening meal, but abandoned the idea after a waiter was difficult about the language and wasnt prepared to help. However we did receive an apology from another person next morning.

Review 17:The situation was excellent and the hotel very comfortable.

Review 18:The room smelled stale. Directly above the kitchen, it was noisy.

Review 19:The fish restaurant is excellent, but be prepared to pay for it- eur18for a main course is standard.

Review 20:No elevator, so guests need to carry their luggage upthe stairs, belucky to get room on first floor. Restaurant Menu do not list a singlevegetarian dish. Menu in german language only.

Review 21:Excellent Location, peacefull and close to lake and nature. Nice staff,Restaurant did its best to serve green salad and try to make a simpledish of rissoto with cheese.

Review 22:I cannot describe the Zum Fischer am See as a hotel, but rather as bed and breakfast accommodation. There was no lounge, no area to relax, other than the bedroom, as it was mainly a restaurant. The room was clean, but the bed was so hard we ended up with bed sores! We had expected a room overlooking the lake, but ended up with one overlooking the car park and above the restaurant. Their extra large extractor fan on the roof kept us awake all night. We had booked for 7 nights through booking.com, but when we arrived they could only accommodate us for 6 nights. They made no effort to find us alternative accommodation and we had to leave a day early, thereby creating a problem with our journey back, as we had to re-book (and re-pay) for a hotel room on the overnight stop. Not a pleasant experience and one we would not endure again.

Review 23:Our room at the back of the hotel, we were woken early by a delivery to the hotel which is my only negative point. We would stay here again.

Review 24:The location; both the peace and quiet of the lake and close to the motorway for a stop over. The room was comfortable, clean and a good size. The restaurant was of good quality but our order was misunderstood, we had to share the starter instead of getting one each. We could have eaten more.

Review 25:Somehow the hotel lacked "soul". Everything was there but from thestaff, I did not get a sense of ownership. There was no realpersonal attention, as there was not much attention to detailoutside of the guest rooms. If they tried a bit harder, this placecould be really lovely.

Review 26:Rooms were well appointed and spotlessly maintained. They even includeda minibar and safe deposit box.Breakfast was German average but the evening meal we had was good. Lovely outside terrace.

Review 27:Travelling from England to Italy by road it is in an ideal position anda spectacular setting. I have stayed there before, and always look foran opportunity to stay longer. The staff are most helpful and friendlyeven when we have previously arrived late after poor driving conditions.Fish from the lake is delicious as is all that the chef prepares.

Review 28:The restaurant is a bit on the costlier side.

Review 29:Verg good place to stay. Excellent fish to served in the restaurant.

Review 30:Good value in a comfortable setting. Restaurant served good seafood. Pillows were much too soft for comfort. Hosts were friendly and helpful.

Review 31:Terrtitory can be refined a little
