Review 1：The hotel was in a great location and the hotel very clean. Food was good and staff were friendly and very helpful. My dad lives in Aguilas and will be booking this hotel again when I return in the summer.

Review 8：The outdoor swimming pool needs refurbishment as the grout has eroded from the tiles in the pool. The new rule of obtaining pool towels from reception needs to be revisited as this was the only blemish on a five star hotel. Fresh towels daily at the pool is a must. One cannot be expected to use the same pool towel for three consecutive days or more..this simple oversight of hygiene and comfort can easily be rectified.

Review 9：Ideal place to relax and be pampered for a few days in very pleasant surroundings. The staff are extremely helpful and cater to your every need. Great food can be ordered at any time of the day.

Review 16：Wifi was only in public areas of the hotel.If you take a bus to Aguilas and stay at this hotel, wear your sports shoes as you have a 3-4km walk to the hotel. Taxis are very rare and the bus from Madrid gets in at midnight.

Review 31：We stayed at the hotel for an Elvis tribute evening. We were upgraded without charge, to a 6th floor room with sea view. The hot and cold buffet food was excellent with several choices. Drinks prices were very reasonable for a 4 star hotel.

Review 36：The beds were so hard we had problems getting comfortable and we had trouble sleeping... The bedside lamps were so far away from the beds it was difficult to see to read in bed. To operate the safe the room key card had to be inserted in the safe lock. The room lights had to be switched on by placing the key card in a slot by the door. This meant one had to open the safe in the dark because the card had to be removed from the wall slot and placed in the safe lock. Stupid idea. The spa and pool were only open between 17.00 and 20.00 hrs.

Review 37：The view from our roon along the coast. Lovely walk along the promenade. The inclusive breakfasts were excellent.

Review 38：Pity there are no balconies but we were aware of this. All public areas were very cold which meant we didn't spend a lot of time in the restaurant or bar area or in the reception area which was where internet access was available. No wifi in rooms but has access if you have a PC with you. Generally in Spain on Xmas eve the staff take presendence over the customers which means not a lot of staff and food not cooked fresh as on other nights so this did not surprise us although perhaps this should not be the norm. Also, Brits be aware - no kettles in the rooms in most Spanish Hotels including this one.

Review 39：The view from our room was fantastic (paid for a sea view). Staff very helpful and friendly and all spoke excellent English. Food, apart from Xmas eve, excellent. Free access to indoor pool (too cold unfortunately). Great breakfast - especially the fresh cooking of eggs. Fresh meat and fish cooked for you in the evening too (apart from Xmas eve). Free cava etc and sweets on Christmas eve but no entertainment at all so very quiet Xmas. Aguillas is a lovely walk along the promenade and nice friendly town. Great facilities i.e. Padel courts, putting, pool table. Bar prices were good.

Review 111：It was a complete mistake to book this Montiel hotel (& NO Spa)... I don't know how they can assume that they qualify for calling themselves a Spa? As a hotel guest You can not just go inside the spa to use the sauna or the steam room for example without paying; even if you buy yourself a massage treatment you will pay separately for the bubble bath or the jet; which are normally offered free of charge to all guests when the hotel claims that they are "Hotel & Spa". A complete rip off. Receptionists were more like military officers: no welcome, no did you enjoy your stay... And also reacts very defensively to any question you pose. To be fare the lady at the reception smiled to me when I handed her a Samsung mobile phone someone left behind on the sofa next to where I was sitting in the lobby.!!! Swimming pool doesn't open before 11:30 am; so if you were counting on getting a dip the day after you arrive don't do as you will end-up with no pool. The explanation offered by reception was something like: IT IS WHAT IT IS. No wifi in the room. And the one at the lobby was too bad when it worked. And they day after wasn't working at all. And when you ask about it you get same reaction: it is what it is. The hotel has no serviced beach although they are 200m from the sea. If I come back and it was the only hotel in Aguilas; then I will avoid Sleeping in Aguilas at all.

Review 113：The room had a kitchen, but it was not for use!? We couldn´t get the air condition to work properly, so it was very warm during the night and made it hard to sleep. You have to walk a bit to reach another restaurant if you don´t want to eat at the hotel.

Review 120：A modern hotel on the sea front, excellent breakfast, good views very good facilities on the edge of town , bars and restaurants nearby, we went to the excellent aguilas carnival, the best in Spain. Make sure you buy a seat as the procession was passing us for three hours and there was still more to come when we had to leave. Take a blanket also because the Spanish evenings can be cold at this time of year.
