Review 1：Staff could have been more friendly. Burnt food from the cafe WiFi was awful. Location didn't feel safe Room smelt of eggs ( not sure if that was the hostel fault tho or just a really smelly roommate!) No soap in the toilet While it didn't bother me,the bathroom is quite small.

Review 10：Bathrooms and toilette were too tiny and badly designed, such that I preferred to use the public ones in the corridors. Some staff were not polite and entered the room without permission when we were in the room, although our room was an all girl room and this even needed more caution to be taken.

Review 11：Of course I liked the location most. Hamburg's main train station was on the other side of the street and the major shopping areas were accessible by a short walk. The lounge, or the upstairs lobby was very comfortable one could even take a nap in.

Review 12：Cleaning men just threw away something I left in the bathroom, and they are super noisy when cleaning even if some customers are still sleeping in the room. The staff of the hotel generally seems lazy, bored to be working there and sometimes agressive. There was a confusion on our reservation for the last day and the staff tried to quick us out of the room very agressively in the morning, without even checking that we had booked for one more night as we told them. Breakfast service is incredibly slow. Also, the bathroom and toilets are super super tiny.

Review 13：The hotel is ideally located next to the Central Station. Nice decoration of the common rooms as well. There is a bar inside the hotel and the hall is very big with confortable seats.

Review 20：Wanted to check the hostel for a long time and finally did. Disappointed. I would enjoy more frequent cleaning. A towel one has to buy at high price. No external food and drinks are allowed. The team is extremely international and that can be felt elsewhere. E.g. exactly when you are naked and ready for a shower in the room appear without warning 2 male managers of southeastern origin which need to check smth. Lovely.

Review 22：Overall it's good. Bedroom: the bathroom is clean enough but coulduse a more efficient cleaning (it's dusty so it made me wonder aboutthe rest of it). It's good enough though. Beds - this isn't aflaw, it's just fine but it could be slightly better: the protectionon the sides of the beds are a great idea - thumbs up for that (!) - butmaybe a bit darker shade or in a different color could isolate from theroommates reading light better than it does. I don't mind but othersmay be inconvenienced by it so I didn't want to use mine for toolong since they were trying to sleep. I forgot to mention to the frontdesk that the hairdryer was broken (bd 212 or 213). Please check forfunctioning of all the items when cleaning the rooms. Food: there are novegan options that I noticed on the bar. That would be nice and wouldreally give 'brownie points' to the place.

Review 23：Location: It's close to the main station, as in in front of it, andquite a tall building which is great and so practical since it'seasy to locate and it's 25 minutes by S-Train from/to theairport and I could actually walk easily to the main Christmas market(amazing) and shopping area (near the airport there's also a veganrestaurant by the way). There are Christmas stands all over town and acouple are in front of the hostels' door. DECORATION:The hostel isbright and colorful, the common areas are very nice to hang out in, theyhave big windows and you can see the whole street, sofas and tables andplenty of space, as well as tv, music and games. It has a bar and anarea where you can get hot drinks and backed goods, sandwiches, etc.(pizza too). Bedroom (all-girl 6 beds bedroom): the bedroom itself isnicely decorated and clean (although you need to take your own padlockor buy one for €3 there), it has one blow dryer on the wall and bigmirrors, a big window with actually dark enough curtains so youdon't have the sun on your face like in other places, the bathroominside is indeed small (reminds me of the airplane ones) but they areenough for what you need (if you are a specially tall or large personyou may find a bit inconvenient I imagine, but the common ones are verygood size and look very good, they also have a blow dryer). It'swarm, don't take a really hot pajama. Staff: the security person iscool, the front-desk staff is helpful enough. Bonus: the 'freetours' stops by at 10:30 A.M. (it's so good! You just have togo!) and there are some lockers downstairs where you can choose for howlong you want to keep your stuff (payed for accordingly) before the roomis ready or after check-out time (there's a free area with a camerabut if you have passport or valuable goods it's best to choose alocker). Also, if you forgot shampoo, toothbrush and stuff like that youcan buy them there.

Review 42：Abysmal wifi speed and patchy coverage on smaller devices, claiming 'fast' is a flat out lie. Dial up in 1998 is faster. Terrible for any businesser that needs to stay in the loop. Shower too small to get changed afterwards.

Review 44：I was extremely disappointed with the staff. We arrived early morning and dealt with a reasonably rude staff member. I found a particular culture to be extremely unprofessional. While I was in the lobby having coffee, 3 staff members started discussing cases where the customers have been wrong. My brother and I reached late, so they mentioned it specifically. Many more cases were discussed where they complained. I as a customer felt targeted. Our bus was late, we were from a very tiring journey and the last thing I would have liked to hear is how the customers are stupid.

Review 96：The location was really good, I can just walk 200m to catch my train. The shops in the central station close a bit later so its convenient too. All the beds have a small piece of board at one side so there is privacy. It also shielded my bed from lights from other beds. Wifi was good. There are showers along the corridors which are bigger and more comfortable.

Worst of all they mixed up our booking and we were practically dragged out of the bed at midnight to explain their mistake! There were no apologies for what was their mistake. Review 101：We had a VERY unpleasant situation with the door guy who kicked out one of my friends that was having a coffee with us in the lobby. As a customer of the coffeeshop, he just wanted to go to the toilet and besides not allowing him to do so, he kicked him out in a very rude and violent way, he even seemed he wanted to start a fight with my friend. Needless to say, my friend never disrepected this guy or was neither drunk or anything.. we were just having coffee! This totally ruined my experience in the hostel!

Review 102：Location is perfect, right in front of Hamburg Hbf (train central station). As every Generator, the decoration is nice and you have different areas for recreation, pool, computers, TV, etc.. Nice and clean bedroom, though the toilet is really small, looks like an airplane toilet.

Review 103：kitchen/Food/speed of Service/F&B Service in general. Reason: Ordered Generator burger, and tacos with seperated sauce - first try: got wrong burger with cold and old oil-fried fries, second try: correct burger with missing bacon, got Tacos with covered with sauce(should have been seperated), missing fresh salsa, third try: (waiting another 25! min. to correct everything) Got correct burger, and fresh slasa was chinese bottles "sweet and sour sauce". Sorry guys: this is not eough to call yourselfe Chef, kitchen, restaurant ...not even pub. When I grabed cook to have a "chat" ... he stated, yes i made the wrong burger and I dont know what to say. By al means --- you have about 10 "easy to cook/prepare" dishes on your menue, if don´t know side dishes from tacos or burger, if simply dont know what you have to prepare as cook, leave it. You are blaming all other cooks! To management: Service and complaints training would help (how to deal with xyz...) Train your kitchen staff - have them put into a real kitchen - they learn organizsation ( or just get a real learned cook into your kitchen. Unfriendly "security" staff - a little smile to new guest would help to feel at least a little welcome walls are very thin, and no security/DM was arround midnight to stop the party all over in 5floor during nights. It doest make sence having a DM on duty, not stopping this nois. You could even hear it from 3rd floor wash basin: honestly: get it corrected. Too small ... Review 106：The staff are very friendly, best location, rooms are clean, decorations are pretty hip, but my favorite thing about this hostel is that it's easy to meet other tourists there and go exploring Hamburg together

Review 107：A few more hooks around the room would help. The staff were sometimes a bit grouchy. The in-room shower was too small to be helpful, and it was impossible to wash your face in the sinks. With only one female public shower on 2, and with the one on 3 being broken, I felt the hostel could have used more public showers. The hair-dryer in both my room and the public bathroom on 2 did not work. The area around the hostel was a bit rough/smelly. One dryer is broken - despite drying my clothing for 1.5 hours on 'normal', they were still rather wet and I had to pay for another cycle (in the other dryer). There seemed to be a lot of high-school / college groups.

Review 108：The bathrooms and room were always clean. Ample computers for general use. Good bar, enough common area seating. Light, outlet and usb outlets at each bed, lockable compartment under beds.

Review 109：hmmm.... there's no free locker / luggage storage service but one must pay for the locker.....

Review 110：The location, the interior, the comfortness and also the service. The hostel is located right next to Hauptbahnhof and above U-bahn station, which is perfect for either exploring the city or catching other transportation. The room is sooooo comfortable and well equipped comparing to my last experience in other hostels. You can also find small things such as ear-plugs, towels available for buy at the counter. Breakfast is simple but fresh. All in all it is surprisingly good considering the price.

Review 111：The shower and the wc inside the rooms were too narrow. The washbasin level was very low and this felt uncomfortable. I could hardly brush my teeth. The staff was good and helpful but not smiling like the southern Europeans.

Review 113：It takes a while to get used to the size of the shower and toilet. In an 8 bedded room, the shower was pretty small, and it was hard not to get the bit outside the door of the shower wet. So for people who want to change in the privacy of the bathroom whilst staying in a mixed dorm, such a luxury is not possible.

Review 120：We were a group of 5, we requested a room together. They added an additiinsl person and the hostel by no means was full. They should have put the additional person somewhere else. The ensuite bathrooms are horrific. Not clean. Small like urine. They're tiny and I'm a tiny person. The shower abd toilet are seperate which ha a stupid concept and the shower is so small that you can't move without touching a wall or something. It was awful

Review 125：It is so big and crowded, therefore you may wait in queue at the reception for check in hostel. Also being a huge hostel it does not makes you feel that you are in a local place.

Review 127：Not enough bathrooms - had to use the bathroom in corridor. The toilet/shower in the room was pointless.

Review 128：location, the bar/atmosphere, beds, WiFi, info and the people. Secure.

Review 129：Some staff were great, some were very grumpy and unhelpful. Central location is great, however it was quite grubby around the building with a lot of homeless people.

Review 133：Everyone says the bathrooms are tiny in the rooms, and they are. Tiny tiny. I used the bathroom downt he corridor. Reception welcome wasn't great on check in, but after that they were helpful.

Review 137：There is NO air con in the bedroom. Fine in winter time but when we were here it was hot and the room was unbearable. A fan was available at a €20 deposit. The room door does not self close. Doors need to be slammed to ensure closing. This was the same for the neighbouring rooms which was annoying when trying to sleep. I doubt that I would stay again.

Review 138：The location is good next to the main train station and the metro. Easy to catch the metro line to most places. Room was okay. Nothing special.

Review 144：Stayed in the generator for one night only so I can't really judge everything but what I did like was the location, it's right next to the Hauptbahnhof (the central train station) and the ZOB (the bus station) the beds were comfortable you get your own plug in your bed and reading light which is great when staying with many people, they have a nice bar and a 24 hour snack shop
