Reviews for Tilman Riemenschneider

Review 1:Room was adorable with beautiful painted furniture and comfortable beds. We were a family of four and there was plenty of room for all of us and everyone got a real bed, not a rollaway bed. Location and staff were outstanding. Breakfast was included in the room and it was very nicely done and plentiful.

Review 2:Nothing at all!

Review 3:Fantastic location and very helpful staff. A very nice breakfast too. The room was very large, comfortable with a large. Brand new bathroom and views of the town.

Review 4:Bath towels had a smoky smell. Room did not smell smoky though.

Review 5:Excellent location within the city walls just around the corner from Rothenburg's central marketplace, town hall, St Jakob's church and shopping. Family room is large with one double bed, 2 twin beds and plenty of room for a crib/cot and large luggage. Nicely updated bathroom. Good breakfast buffet with attentive staff. Hotel was charmingly decorated for the holidays, and was a lovely place to stay in Rothenburg to visit Christmas markets. Secure parking, although offsite, is only 2 blocks away. Porter escort to and from garage is helpful.

Review 6:Our room was next to the lift. Way too hot in the rooms. Requested upper floors but were on ground floor. Gym area smelt mouldy. Felt that because booked using this site we got put in the cheap room when it was actually quite expensive. That said lovely staff and building.

Review 7:Overall, we enjoyed our hotel very much. I would recommend placing a safe in the rooms. We didn't really want to carry everything with us as we toured the city but we had no choice.

Review 8:The staff is amazing! We walked in a couple hours before posted check-in time and we were just fine with leaving our bags until later. Instead, the staff asked us to wait while they double checked to see if a room was ready. They found one and we were able to relax a little in our room before heading out to explore the Christmas market. The breakfast room was packed on Sunday morning but the wait staff kept the buffet table full and fresh. Coffee refills were constant and food was very good. We would stay here again!

Review 9:Restaurant was not open on the weekday night due to low numbers. I wasn't feeling well so it was frustrating to have to go out of the hotel when we'd deliberately chosen one with a restaurant. A late checkout was not available when I wasn't well but they gave us a 3 free postcards to say sorry.

Review 10:We arrived by car and they had our bags to our room, my husband was guided to the secure car park and checked in as fast as you could imagine. Exactly what you need with a child and a car. They offered us more information when we were ready to explore. With a child, it was a perfect location, being able to wander out then quickly go back for a short rest when needed. Lovely staff and excellent communication.

Review 11:The location of the hotel is perfect. 2 short blocks away from the main square. The staff was wonderful. Friendly, helpful and efficient. We were leaving very early morning, and they fixed us a bag filled with fruit, rolls and juice so we would not go hungry. The beds were a little on the firm side. So for me they were a bit uncomfortable, but the room was large with plenty of seating and storage. We would definitely consider staying there again should we go back to Rothenburg.

Review 12:Very hot in bedroom. Doona too hot. A single sheet would have been ample.

Review 13:Nearby parking, close to all important features of village, staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 14:All was good, no dislikes

Review 15:In heart of city. Everything within walking distance. Paid 10 euros for overnight private garage parking. Very clean room. Tons of room for young children to play.

Review 16:There's no air con, and we happened to travel during some very warm weather. But they put some nice fans in the room that helped a lot. Of course you can't rate a hotel based on weather, and it seems like most hotels in the area don't have air con either.

Review 17:Beautiful hotel in a superb location, easy walking distance to everything. Our family loved it. We extended an extra night instead of moving on to Munich as originally planned. Yes it's a bit expensive but so is everything in Rothenburg. Would definitely stay again.

Review 18:No airco in the room is not ideal for warmer periods. Nearby church bells going as early as 7am in the weekend (no idea why anyone believes that is necessary).

Review 19:We have stayed at some great places including in Rothenburg and while our experience with the Tilman Riemenschneider was good, it does not rank amongst our best. The location is great though, the staff very friendly, room was good, dinner and breakfast okay, so overall a good experience.

Review 20:Great location near the square but away from the noise. Room and bathroom was clean and well maintained. Room was very traditional for the region and was a pleasant place to relax.

Review 21:Loved the location and how the staff helped us plan our trip when we came in the entrance. They helped us with dinner and lunch places that were spot on delicious. Gave us a readable map .

Review 22:It was unusually hot during the time of our stay. The hotel (like most) is not air conditioned. Had the temps been at the normal German level, this would not have been an issue. We would still return to this hotel.

Review 23:The location and the professional and friendly staff.

Review 24:Wifi annoying as you had to re-login on every single time.

Review 25:Great location within the walls and only a block from town hall. Pretty soon with Bavarian painted furniture. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very tasty included breakfast.

Review 26:It was a bit pricey for what you get but location made it worth the extra money with two small kids. Breakfast was nothing special.

Review 27:Great location a block off the main square. Close to everything and very quaint.

Review 28:The ground floor was the restaurant. My room was in the first floor so it was a bit noisy till the restaurant was close.

Review 29:Room decoration was nice. Staffs were great..very helpful. The hotel was in the old town but could drive to the hotel unlodging the luggages. Then the staff would bring you to the parking area.

Review 30:No safe in room for valuables.

Review 31:Great location, traditional Bavarian charm. Staff were top notch and attentive. Secure parking in the old city is a plus for drivers.

Review 32:minor relevance: we had a room next to the elevator, so you could hear the elevator now an then. But the noise level was ok.

Review 33:Staff, food and location were just great!

Review 34:The breakfast selection was less than other places where we stayed and paid the same. It offered less and very little warm food. While the parking is not close, it really isn't that inconvenient despite what others have reported.

Review 35:While this hotel has a quaint feel, it is still modern and comfortable and centrally located. The staff is amazing. We had 3 staff members helping us with the car and the luggage. One staff member accompanied one of us to park the car and escorted us back. Amazing service and location.

Review 36:It was very nice but I could smell cigarette smoke in our room. Slightly kitsch decor.

Review 37:This attractive old hotel is in a superb central location with parking in a garage nearby. Pleasant staff.

Review 38:pillows were too soft and low, parking is not near the hotel, WiFi is slow.

Review 39:location, view from the window, staff, room design, restaurant.

Review 40:We just happened to hit a heat wave. There is no A/C nor were there any fans available. That made our room fairly toasty even with open windows. But that did NOT overshadow our positive experiences with the staff, how nice the family suite was, or the perfect location.

Review 41:We really enjoyed the family suite. We stayed during Pfingsten when the town had parades, plays, and other special events. One morning during breakfast, a group of 'soldiers' came in and sang for their food. A very nice surprise!! That truly made our visit fun. We also took the Nightwatchman's tour...and highly recommend that.

Review 42:Wonderful hotel, lovely stuff!!!

Review 45:Staff was awesome very friendly, great location.

Review 46:great location and staff

Review 47:Beds were short and a little too hard

Review 48:-

Review 49:Even this hotel is little bit older we had very clean, comfortable and cozy room.

Review 50:Nothing

Review 51:Everything

Review 52:Everything was great. No complains at all.

Review 53:The bedroom curtains don't keep out the dawn light at all.

Review 54:Wonderful service, atmosphere and location.

Review 55:Fabulous position in the heart of the old town. Beautiful old property. Parking available after a short walk.

Review 56:Excellent location

Review 57:The room for four adults was superb--large, comfortable, very pleasant. Highly recommended!

Review 58:Absolutely nothing.

Review 59:Everything.

Review 60:Charm!!!

Review 61:Breakfast buffet a little disappointing

Review 62:Bavarian charm Lots of hot water Nice restaurant

Review 63:Wonderful staff, great location, excellent facility. We travel to Germany frequently and this is a classic.

Review 64:Wonderful friendly staff, great location, very clean and nice room.

Review 65:breakfast need to have more quality.....

Review 66:not 100% satisfied ... but reasonably good enough.

Review 67:We loved everything about staying there in Rothenburg.

Review 68:Bed slightly hard Pillows a little to flat

Review 69:The staff The building Location The Room The staff (again)

Review 70:This hotel was wonderful! The staff were so friendly and upon arriving, they brought a large bottle of water up for us. The rooms were adorable and clean, the beds were comfortable, the location is perfect. There was free wifi. The free breakfast in the morning was extensive. I would stay here again if I ever had the opportunity.

Review 71:Lovely hotel. So clean. Wonderful location--so close to market square, but just far enough away to be avoid the noise. Would recommend highly. Very friendly staff--even to our dog.

Review 72:Absolutely wonderful!!! Cleanest room I've seen in years! Very friendly staff. Enjoyed the restaurant so much we chose to eat there again the next night. Wonderful location, too.

Review 73:Very limited buffet breakfast, the noisy room located next to a (wascher) machines room despite the hotel was almost empty.

Review 74:Excellent staff, the availability of a small fitness/spa, the location in the city center and the speed wifi.

Review 75:Beautiful hotel, central location, very friendly and helpful staff, clean, comfortable, and great breakfast. You pay a little more but its definitely worth it. A very pleasant experience. Highly recommended

Review 76:We liked everything.

Review 77:Our room was absolutely adorable. The nicest room we stayed in duringthe week we were in Europe. The food was outstanding. The stafffriendly, helpful and thoughtful. Location was more private than most ofthe hotels in Rothenburg, yet very convenient to all places to see.

Review 78:-hotel condition is very beautiful -room, romantic & beautiful -location, close to every interesting things -staffs, professional & full of service mind -private parking arranged for customer

Review 79:There was a large group the first night which dominated the public spaces and the breakfast room the next morning. I think that prices were on the high side--not out of sight but high-ish.

Review 80:The staff were friendly and efficient. The location was superb!

Review 81:Garage/parking is not close, so best either not bringing a car or leave it outside the city walls.

Review 82:Stunning location and beautiful hotel. They have a spacious 4 bed family room which was ideal.

Review 83:The excersize room was unusable.

Review 84:The furnishings and cleanliness in the room. The quaint foyers on each floor and quick moving elevator. Also, loved the location! Enjoyed the breakfast, as well.

Review 85:A bit pricy since it is in a very special town... A lot of tourists in a small space. The breakfast is big but not very interesting.

Review 86:The location is hard to beat. Standard of the hotell could be better, since it is a bit dated. Our family room (311) was nice and spacious and had been refurbished recently.

Review 87:It is not a four stars hotel, three at the most would be a better rate.Poor breakfast, low quality products. Rooms are more like a B&Bbathroom small and old

Review 88:The location

Review 89:No air conditioning and it was extremely hot in the rooms. The did give us a fan when we requested it.

Review 90:Even though the building is quite old, the rooms had been completely updated. Located right in the middle of the walled city. Very close to all of the sights and shopping.

Review 91:The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The location is within the city wall of Rothenburg and is within walking distance to all tourist attractions. The rooms are decorated with traditional Bavarian style furniture & the artwork through-out the restaurants & lobby are from the local area. We ate dinner at their restaurant and had a delicious meal of baked local fish; the buffet breakfast was also tasty & plenty of items from which to select.

Review 92:Lovely little hotel situated in the old town very comfortable rooms. New modern bathrooms. Friendly helpful staff. Most enjoyable stay. Will go back.

Review 93:Really nice hotel very close to the central market. The staff was friendly and extremelly helpful, wishing to meet our needs in every single way. I would return there.

Review 94:An exelent location, where The staff helped make our stay an enjoyable one. While the hotel has no 'stand out' features everything was in order. Would stay here again.

Review 95:An electrical fan (not necessary aid-conditioning) provided in the room would help, because the weather in the summer is quite hot.

Review 96:The location, the dinning restaurant, and design of the room, very clean bathroom.

Review 97:Our bed in the room was not god and as you have to move it was a lot of sound and it was to soft. This was in the double room and not the single room.

Review 98:A hotel with charm and history and very nice staff. Good food. Close to everything in the historical old town.

Review 99:Great location to shop .And many choices for dining at all prices. Also. The great christmas shops. We oil come back again. The only negative of staying. 4 star hotels are the poor quality of towels and veryyyyyyy little bars of soap.

Review 100:Staffs are very responsive and friendly. The room is arranged with classic wodden furnitures and very charming. Convenient location and above all doggie friendly :-)

Review 101:The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and hadbeen sympathetically decorated with the age of the building. The roomwas comfortable and reasonable in size. The beds had a semi partitionbetween the twin and the queen beds but no door between them. The location was great as everything was in walking distance and we found it easy to drive to the hotel. This was partially due to the driving instructions and map the hotel emailed to us at the time of booking. This map was greatly appreciated.

Review 102:Can be crowded with tour-groups - which means a lot of unnecessarynoise. Breakfast is simple, maybe too simple.

Review 103:Right in the city center, a short walk to the market square and otherplaces of interest. Lovely lobby sofas but can get crowded with tourgroup members as this is the only place with free internet.

Review 104:shower in the bath room need more water pressure.

Review 105:Their staff is very friendly. They help me before staying. The family room is large and confortable.my family could enjoy stying.

Review 106:The Hotel Tilman Riemenschneider is a beautiful home away from home inside the walls of alt Stadt Rothenburg ob der Tauber. We were greeted by friendly members of the hotel staff upon our arrival. Our car was able to be parked inside the city walls in a secure parking building, instead of having to park in the open remote lots outside the walls of the city - very safe and convenient. Rooms are very nicely appointed, spacious and comfortable. The Hotel Tilman Riemenschneider is a 100m walk to the heart of Rothenburg, the city square and St. Jacobs Church. St. Jacobs church is home to the 600 year old massive wood-carved altar depicting the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with his disciples. The cross in the alter contains a drop of Christ's blood and is therefore called the "Holy Blood Altar". You are also in the center of all the wonderful shops and restaurants of the Alt Stadt. We enjoyed a lovely walk around the city on the top of the walls which provided spectacular views of Rothenburg and the surrounding countyside.

Review 107:We have stayed at the Tilman Riemenschneider before. We love theatmosphere of the hotel and the location within the walled city. Thestaff was very accommodating.

Review 108:Great location, easy access to most everything. Rooms had a nice German ambience with modern touches. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 109:Everything was perfect. Great staff, private parking and awesome breakfast. Best German hotel I have stayed for last 7 years.

Review 110:The people were so nice

Review 111:Wifi was weak

Review 112:Warm friendly Staff.

Review 113:love the decor & staff is excellent breakfast is good

Review 114:Large family room! Very comfortable, excellent staff, excellent breakfast, excellent location, cleanest of rooms.
