Reviews for Villa Mittermeier, Hotellerie und Restauration
Review 1:uncomfortable bed; no safe deposit box or bathrobe specified in reservations as a deliverable; rather impersonal room with no reminder of a Xmas eve/day
Review 2:location; breakfast
Review 3:The hotel was disgusting. We originally booked for 2 nights but only stayed for 1 but was made to pay for both. The hotel was depressing needed a full revamp. The whole of the hotel smelt fusty and was like staying in a hostel. Disgusting.
Review 4:We liked how close we were to the town.
Review 5:The open bath/shower is unusual, but quickly got used to it, planning to return to the hotel we enjoyed it and the location so much
Review 6:Warm reception with friendly staff, great location, large modern room, fabulous breakfast, quiet.
Review 7:We have grown accustomed to the split beds in Europe. However, the gap in this bed was huge. In most of them I can somewhat sleep comfortably on top of the gap, but this one opened too much causing you to fall in between. I think it only causes issues if you like to sleep close. :)
Review 8:We loved the location, the staff and the food. While they didn't have a bar, the staff served us beer and wine and sat us in a cozy little room for privacy. The food at the restaurant and breakfast buffet was excellent.
Review 9:Rooms were modern, bed comfortable, bathroom good size. Great location to the old city center. Staff wonderful and probably the best breakfast value yet ! Unbeatable breakfast selection for 12 Euros !
Review 10:I can not say anything negative.
Review 11:The hotel is in a great location, very friendly staff and comfortable rooms. The hotel is a very nice breakfast with a large selection for the money and value. This is second stay at this hotel and we will stay here again.
Review 12:The room was very nice. Had large space and large bathroom. Nicely decorated. The restaurant was excellent.Location was also a plus. It was across from the old town entrance.Staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 13:The hotel has a famous restaurant, but it is closed during September - they should make that clear in their advertising
Review 14:The convenient access to the town of Rothenburg-ob-der-Tauber
Review 15:Fabulous hotel and staff went out of there way to make us and the dogs feel at home. They even provided us with room service so the dogs wouldn't have to be alone. Food was delicious too.
Review 16:not well organized for the booking (restaurant or rooms), they often loose mail, or claim they have not receive it. time for the check out is long.
Review 17:comfort, quite, situation
Review 18:Rooms don't have A/C which you may not need except for 1-2 weeks in the year and definitely not at night time
Review 19:Rooms are beautifully decorated. Breakfast is great. Nice and quite area just outside city walls
Review 20:beautiful design, super modern, clean, comfortable. a real treat to stay there, felt so refreshing and happy to come back to this well designed space.
Review 21:Noise from the main street which was unavoidable as the weather was hot and we had to keep the windows open. They really need more modern TVs. The current Grundig is probably best in a museum - and a better selection of TV channels for international visitors.
Review 22:location, service, quality of food, breakfast, parking, checkout time, funky layout and decor
Review 23:I thought the dinner at the hotel's restaurant was a bit overpriced for what it was. I have no complaints about breakfast though. It was excellent.
Review 24:I thought the decor was very smart and hip.
Review 25:Not a bad experience but pillows wayyyyyy too soft - even with 2 they had to be folded over but that seems the norm in Europe
Review 26:Warm welcome, all staff very friendly and lovely breakfast setting on balcony or inside. Close to walled city
Review 27:The staff person could not tell me how to get an outside line on the phone. The bathroom sink did not have a drain stopper that would close, which I need as a hard contact wearer.
Review 28:Quiet, great location, convenient room layout with desk and chair. Front desk staff were very friendly.
Review 29:While staff were generally very friendly, one of the receptionists was not (never a smile, behaving a bit like the guests were a nuisance) - a bit strange given the overall apparent attention to detail and guest satisfaction
Review 30:Great design of the interior of the hotel, good location just outside the city walls (which means no problems with parking and more quiet, while still just a 10 minute walk to the market square), generally very friendly staff (special praise to the extremely pleasant receptionist who welcomed us when we arrived), good breakfast, coffee machines in rooms
Review 31:Customer Serivce was terrible; asking staff to get anything ahead oftime before arrival was impossible. They changed room for what we askedand paid for last minute to a new room (where everyoneparked/noisy/ and could see straight in through allwindows)/room design not thought out at all). Plus, we couldn'teven get into the room until 3:20 pm even though it was brand new andknow one had yet stayed in it??? We asked one morning to eat outsideonly to be told it was too cold (it was set up with cushions and allthough) and yet another couple we saw soon after eating outside? Youpaid for breakfast and for what you paid for it was not worth the costcompared to other places in Europe. We have been going to Rothenburg formany years and too many times and this was our least favourite hotel.
Review 32:The location and they do take pets; we had a very small 1 kilo welltrained yorkie.
Review 33:Bath towels in need of an upgrade!
Review 34:Location is excellent right outside the walled town. Our host Barbara was very friendly helpful and professional. Breakfast was excellent.
Review 35:We had 3-couse dinner. Did not meet expectations.... Tuna, no flavor. Steak too hard. Dessert was good. In this kind of almost star rated restaurant you would expect them to explain the dishes and know the pace to serve (it was too fast).
Review 36:There is no path for wheelchair to go in the hotel.. Elevator very old..
Review 37:luxury hotel.. Nice interior design.. Nice rooms very spacious.. Free parking .. cigarette vending machine..
Review 38:Coming from a resort town with many, many hotels, I was surprised to find a small tube television in our room instead of a mounted flat screen. Surprised. NOT disappointed. We weren't there to watch television. It's a pretty small, unimportant detail.
Review 39:The staff was very courteous and prompt - we booked through booking.com and I was concerned that at a boutique hotel, we would be treated differently for not booking directly. We had spent the three previous nights at a hostel in München and I was really looking forward to treating my fiancé to something really nice. We had both planned on seeing Rothenberg ob der Tauber and being 100m feom the city wall, Ville Mittermeier couldn't have been a better choice. Everything was excellent and we'll recommend it to any friends headed to Germany.
Review 40:It was very close to the city wall. Plus we had a change the night before we where to leave and needed to take our pet with us and that was not problem. And the there was not pet charge. The room was wonderful. And the staff very helpful.
Review 41:Another great stay at Hotel Mittermeier - the room was lovely with nice touches, slightly on the small side but great otherwise. The bathroom could do with a little modernisation but nothing else to complain about. As mentioned before the hotel is just beside the town wall and the 'romantic road' so the location couldn't be better. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Hope to return soon!
Review 42:We wished the television had English channels.
Review 43:Very nice hotel and would stay here again. Located immediately outside the Rothenburg wall, so it was easy to walk to everything. They had parking available at the hotel.
Review 44:Dusty cobwebed room, dirty matress protection beneath the sheets, old broken TV, restaurant closed for vacation without any notice on site, reduced staff, reception closed at 9pm.expensive.
Review 45:Excellent breakfast
Review 46:Unfortunately our stay coincided with a music festival in the town so the hotel was very busy and staff very rushed. There was no offer of help to carry our bags to our rooms. This would have been very helpful because our three rooms were in different parts of the hotel. We arrived late afternoon and took the last parking spot. Anyone arriving after us was not so lucky. The hotel is right next to the road so there was a significant amount of traffic noise.
Review 47:The rooms were very comfortable and individually decorated. The kids enjoyed playing chess. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and tasty. The hotel is situated just outside the town wall which means you have somewhere to park a car and it is easy to walk into the town.
Review 48:no safe, a few towels. nothing bathroom accessories, no bidet, elevator door without security
Review 49:original hotel, friendly staff, great room and well appointed restaurant and breakfast
Review 50:Older kitchen/waitress was busy and struggled a little at breakfast Otherwise great
Review 51:Lovely well kept property. And the reception staff had good English skills and we're very accommodating
Review 52:everything was in good order.
Review 53:The villa is right outside the entrance into the walled town of Rothenburg, a perfect location that makes it perfect to enjoy the town. We actually arrived before noon and were able to get into our room soon thereafter.
Review 54:no airconditioning and no fan. bed mattress to too thin and not very comfortable.
Review 55:Location, room size, bathroom size, the staff. the restaurant attached to the hotel was excellent.
Review 56:Our host was terrific!! She was most gracious and helpful; simply delightful!!! The location was exceptional!
Review 57:The owner himself and the team makes this place special. The hotel is small but has everything you need .
Review 58:Very expensive for the room
Review 59:The rooms, location, ambiance and staff.
Review 60:Extremely well presented. Very clean and very helpful staff members. Second time we have stayed here and would be happy to visit again.
Review 61:Nothing!
Review 62:Lovely big room and bath room. Polite, helpful and service minded staff. Great location at the gates of the old town. Superb breakfast.
Review 63:a bit expensive
Review 64:Beautiful old building, great helpful staff nice breakfast on porch
Review 65:No air conditioning, small lift.
Review 66:Recently renovated, very nice restaurant, convenient location.
Review 67:Noise related to annual rock festival.
Review 68:Friendliness and lovely surroundings. Easy access to old town.
Review 69:The staff were very friendly and helpful and the location close to the city. The car parking was a bonus.exce
Review 70:They didn't have Tabasco sauce. :-)
Review 71:Walking distance to Rothenburg Castle.
Review 72:N/A!
Review 73:The restaurant is superb! We had the pork belly cooked in a Roner and then flash grilled.
Review 74:Location
Review 75:Beautiful bath tub and nespresso coffee maker. Free parking.
Review 76:Big and comfortable beds. Modern bathroom. nespresso machine. Very good breakfast
Review 77:Everything is great, very clean, the room was spacious and the decor was a plus.
Review 78:Nothing in particular. Overall, a great stay.
Review 79:Loved the room and the location.
Review 80:Check in process took quite a long time. Surly staff. Feather pillows should be changed to hypoallergic material ones.
Review 81:Room was too small.
Review 82:Design Berkfast service restaurant Staff extremely service oriented
Review 83:Bed was not against the wall and no headboard therefore the pillows kept falling off all night!!
Review 84:Gorgeous room
Review 85:Clean well decorated rooms. Comfortable bed. Very nice staff, very helpful!
Review 86:wish I'd stayed longer
Review 87:service pride in the hotel relaxed position/location breakfast outdoor verandah
Review 88:Bathroom, very small and dark, little space for shavers and wash bags. Odd decour
Review 89:Breakfast
Review 90:My room was unique and spotless. The bed was VERY comfortable. The staff was friendly and proficient. Add to that: an OUTSTANDING restaurant!!
Review 91:Breakfast, staff, food at restaurant, closed to l'old town
Review 92:The service was bad and nothing to eat for the breakfast.
Review 93:Big room and nice area.
Review 94:The wifi connection was unstable.
Review 95:It was close to the entrance of the city, the staff was friendly and helpful, and breakfast was tasty.
Review 96:Check in was a little haphazard, but welcoming.
Review 97:Spacious room with unique decor. Nice outlook and close to walled town.
Review 98:The rooms were a bit small, but still comfortable.
Review 99:Just outside the city walls Very nice inside with excellent restaurant and breakfast.
Review 100:I found the standard room a little too small.
Review 101:Very nice staff and excellent breakfast. Great location.
Review 102:parking not great. Balcony could have been nicer.
Review 103:Proximity to old town.
Review 104:I can't think of a thing.
Review 105:The location is excellent and close to all attractions. The room and staffing are superb. They definitely cater to your every need. The food is excellent! We will definitely return.
Review 106:Can't think of anything.
Review 107:The room we got for the first night had no curtains in one of the windows, so we woke up very early because it was so much light in the room. We mentioned that to the staff in the morning and were immediately upgraded to a superior room and offered free breakfast. The breakfast was excellent, the rooms very well equipped and the staff did their utmost to assist us. Highly recomended.
Review 108:We couldn't get reservations for the restaurant...
Review 109:Everything was perfect! This is one of the nices hotels we've ever stayed. The location was perfect, the rooms were very nice and clean, the bathrooms super nice!
Review 110:It's the worst hotel during this trip. The hotel did not give us theroom we booked. They provide us a very very small room. Afterdiscussion, they agree to change to another room(still not the room webooked.) It's very nosie at night. Very bad experience and willnever want to back again...
Review 111:Nothing! Everything is just perfect!
Review 112:Simply everything! Staff was extremely friendly, rooms were spacious andwith a free Nespresso machine! Breakfast buffet was amazing rich, butthe top was the Blaue Sau, the restaurant. The best food in a long time. This place us the perfect spot to visit Rotenburg ob der Tauber. Wouldwe come back? Anytime!
Review 113:The bed was very small for 2 people, and the room was also very small, with not much space to move
Review 114:Friendliness of the staff, lovely selection at the breakfast buffet
Review 115:That we only had one night there!
Review 116:The staff were the most friendly and helpful we've encountered anywhere in Europe...and we've traveled extensively! They were very accommodating and even made friends with our shy 3-year-old. The room was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The breakfast was delicious and well worth the extra 8 Euro/pp we paid during our visit (made to order eggs/omelets, pastries, sliced meats and cheeses, fruit, cereal, yogurt and more!) There is parking on site, but in busy times (like Christmas) it could be tricky to find a spot available. It was an easy walk through the wall and into the city center and highlights, even with our toddlers strapped to our backs (at most 10 minutes). Everything was fabulous about this hotel and I highly recommend!
Review 117:The roomes can be very small, some is only for individual use, best to go for a Superior room.
Review 118:Wonderful hotel, great atmosphere, good location. Excellent breakfast.
Review 119:Nothing everything was perfect!
Review 120:Staff was amazing, rooms were cosy, yet modern with a rustic feel to it! The breakfast was the best we ever had in a hotel and the lady that took care of the Buffett and the drinks etc was so nice and did her job with such passion that left us impressed! All in all a great stay!
Review 121:Room was on the small side and there was a lot of noise from other guests walking up and down the corridor and in the morning you could hear the kitchen preparing for breakfast.
Review 122:Staff were very helpful.
Review 123:Wi fi was terrible ... did not get any in our room , so sat in lobby to get a very slow connection . They truly need to update wifi and add a few more essentials to the room . No face cloths or a bar of soap to was your hands after using the washroom .
Review 124:great restaurant and great location .... very modern room .
Review 125:- actually, there is nothing I can complain about
Review 126:- location next to Rothenburg - large room - friendly and helpful staff - decent breakfast - free parking
Review 127:Wish we'd stayed longer. Would be nice if breakfast was built intothe room rate, though reasonably priced at eur8 when compared with a lacarte at surrounding cafes.
Review 128:Friendly staff. Modern, comfortable room with good facilities - wifi, fridge, nespresso, English news channels. Nice food in the restaurant.Free parking. Good value.
