Reviews for Klosterstüble

Review 1:Wish we would have stayed another night!!

Review 2:Everything!! The hotel was wonderful- from a two week German vacation, this was our favorite hotel. The room was very large for our family- it had two rooms each with a bed for two and a very nice bathroom. The view was beautiful. The beds were clean and comfortable. The restaurant had amazing food and service- get a reservation. (Only place in Germany we were offered tap water as an option to paying for bottles of still water, which we appreciated). The hotel price was very reasonable for the value. We stayed in Wurtzburg and Nurnburg before and after this town and both of those hotel accommodations were much pricier for the value. This town was wonderful and well worth the time. Don't miss the nightwatchman tour. The owner spoke many languages including English, French and German and was helpful with suggestions or answering questions.

Review 3:The rooms could use a bit of sprucing up. They're clean but the furnishings are a little shabby and outdated. Most hotels in Germany include breakfast in their rate but this hotel does not. Not a big deal but it would be nice.

Review 4:Great location!

Review 5:Wifi is poor in the bedrooms. Mattress is too soft

Review 6:The bedroom is really beautiful, the bath is good and the staff is very friendly. The location is great.

Review 7:Lovely room, great bed and beautiful building. Great location -short walk to the town square. Optional breakfast was excellent. Staff was very helpful. If we return to Rothenberg we will definitely stay here again.

Review 8:Really happy with the hotel loved the location only 2 min walk to the market square. Recommend the breakfast it is a really good spread with lots of variety, even my fussy 4 & 6 year olds found enough to fill their bellies for the day.

Review 9:Unfortunately the heater didn't do its job properly because we were a little cold at night. Other than that, we loved the hotel.

Review 10:It's just what we hoped for: a typical german hotel right in the middle of Rothenburg. Excellent location, staff, rooms and restaurant.

Review 11:Driving to the location was a challenge, but we were able to find parking close to the hotel and with the voucher provided by the hotel it only cost us 5.0 euro's. My only other complaint was the room seemed smaller because there were a small table and chairs and a sofa which werent all that necessary, and made it tight with our luggage.

Review 12:We loved the building and setting. There is nothing like staying in an old Fachwerk style hotel that resides in the heart of an exquisite medieval city. Hot showers, comfy bed, and fantastic atmosphere, we'll be back. The Restaurant downstairs was very good and provided us with delicious regional fare. Breakfast was also very good and well worth the additional charge. We wish we could have stayed another night but we were on a tight schedule.

Review 13:The only small thing was that the bed was a little uncomfortable, but that is a personal view.

Review 14:Breakfast was magnificent, staff very professional and helpful and the room was great too.

Review 15:No lift which could be a challenge for those with limited mobility

Review 16:Friendly helpful staff. Very comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Location great for exploring the town.

Review 17:Nothing negative to share

Review 18:Very warm and friendly staff. Helped with all of our needs. Saw them go out of their way to assist other guests who needed emergency dental service.

Review 19:I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel. Absolutely perfect spot in the city, old world feel with incredible details in the design and architecture. Amazing accommodation with lots of room and super comfortable beds. The staff was incredibly nice and acccommodating

Review 20:The furniture and carpet weren't that clean, but the bed was comfy. Overall, an OK room. It was also a bit aways from any public transportation, so taxi is required.

Review 21:This was a quaint hotel near the center of Rotherburg oDT.

Review 22:The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The location is also excellent, you are right in the old part of town, a short walk from attractions such as the Rathaus, Roedertor and Burggarten. The hotel also has a restaurant, and the breakfast they offer in the morning is good - a nice selection of bread and buns, coldcuts, pastries, muesli and also eggs cooked to order Even the wifi was pretty good - not something you might expect in a 16th-century building!

Review 23:Been here before and had a much larger room; but this was adequate. Location is ideal. Ate at their restaurant before but this time the restaurant was closed for their "rest day". Too bad their restaurant is the best, Great breakfast. Staff is marvelous!

Review 24:There was absolutely nothing we didn't like about this hotel. Would definitely stay there again.

Review 25:Super friendly staff, really nice hotel. All of the rooms seemed to be suites. We were in the very top room, which was fun getting our luggage up to, but it had amazing views of the valley and surrounding areas. It even had a loft that could accommodate a couple of children. Awesome!

Review 26:Would have appreciated nicer quality pillows, but didn't negatively impact our stay.

Review 27:Charming hotel in a great location with attentive staff! Recommend dinner in their restaurant as well.

Review 28:Nothing

Review 29:We were very well looked after by great staff. From the time of our arrival until our departure 5 days later the friendly staff made our stay a happy memory. The hotel is in a great location. close to all the attractions and not too far from the rail station. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone going to Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

Review 30:We had an two room apartment that was lovely. Historic, clean, best room on our trip throughout Europe. Also, excellent assistance from the staff. The wonderful woman who checked us in also helped us with luggage, get parked, recommended the Nightwatchman's Tour, and even helped in the restaurant. She was wonderful. Highly recommend this hotel in a wonderful historic town of Rothenburg, otb.

Review 31:The bathroom in the room was a bit cramped. In particular the bowl brush and holder were mounted in front of the toilet, which made it hard to sit down.

Review 32:The location was great and the room was very charming. The breakfast was wonderful. All the people were very helpful and welcoming. Overall, it was a great value and great experience.

Review 33:Room #1 is extremely small. Lighting could be improved. No lift.

Review 34:Loved the location but challenging to locate. Enjoyed the quaint architecture and room furnishings. Breakfast great/restaurant terrific. Ericka was especially delightful and so accommodating.

Review 35:Flat pillows

Review 36:Outstanding location in the heart of town--two blocks from the city square. Beautiful interior design that had the look and feel of the town's medieval theme. Truly one of the most unique places where we have stayed.

Review 37:Nothing worth mentioning here. Everything was perfect!

Review 38:Beautiful hotel, very quiet. We got the massive suit on the top floor for an awesome deal. Our son had regular sized rooms, but still very pretty and typical. Staff is very kind and helpful. We would definitely go back to that hotel.

Review 39:No coffee maker, kettle in the room.

Review 40:The hotel is located in the city centre with lots of attentions and restaurants. Room is big, and the bathroom is really really nice and clean. Staff is helpful and friendly.

Review 41:Location was excellent. Staff was very kind and accommodating. Loved that they had a self-service refrigerator for guests at night if we desired an evening drink. Happy to record our purchase using the provided form, and pay at checkout. The room was large and comfortable. Beds were very comfortable. They were able to provide a fan when I asked. Liked that we were able to park right in front of the hotel, despite the cost of the pass. Lovely staff, interesting building -- all in all a great stay.

Review 42:Location is a bit challenging to reach by car. Parking can be difficult.

Review 43:Central location is nice for going about. Very friendly and accomodating staff. Hotel has a lot of character, nice old place that has been fixed up.

Review 44:I didn't like leaving.

Review 45:I loved everything! The staff was incredible, by far the friendliest and helpful. The hotel is gorgeous and the view from our charming room was like a fairy tale. Breakfast was delicious and offered a very good assortment for everyone (I'm vegetarian), and they had one of the best jams I ever tasted.

Review 46:most staff were lovely but there was a very grumpy waitress/ receptionist who seemed to resent us being there and hardly spoke.

Review 47:beautiful location, great for strolling to the town square. fabulous food mainly friendly staff. the lady running the cocktail bar was fabulous.

Review 48:Building is very old and stairs creak. Since it's basically a converted house/hostel type building, this means no matter when you're trying to sleep, someone's trying to wake you up simply by walking.

Review 49:Location and price were phenomenal. Do the Night Watchman tour, it's two blocks away.

Review 50:We had two GPSs going and they both directed us incorrectly - call hotel for directions as it's not difficult if you find out from them how to best get to hotel.

Review 51:Perfect location and great staff

Review 52:Great room, at a great price, and an outstanding staff who made our stay enjoyable. Our room faced the street and had some early evening street noise but it was hardly noticeable. Recommend this place!

Review 53:Excellent location and very generous room size with 2 double beds in a twin room. Great breakfast, with plenty of choice. Will definitely return. Great building, with real character and taste.

Review 54:The location was outstanding and the restaurant was ver good. We loved how the charm of the city was incorporated into the hotel. I wish we could of stayed longer.

Review 55:The location and the ambiance were perfect. The accommodations for 2 grandparents and 7 grandchildren were perfect. (ages 11 through 16). We would stay here again.

Review 56:My only issue was the entry to the bathroom was shorter than I am (it's an old building and I'm well over 6 foot) so after a few beers I managed to rack my head on the door jam. Probably more a me issue than a hotel issue.

Review 57:The hotel was very nice as was the staff. We had a great room. Breakfast was excellent. It's maybe two blocks from the city center. Overall, we were very pleased!

Review 58:We loved everything about this place! The location was amazing, the staff was very helpful, and the rooms were spacious, comfortable, and charming. We booked two rooms, and the views from both rooms were spectacular. We hadn't expected that. We would stay here again without hesitation!

Review 59:This place is located in a great part of town. Right next to the wall and a park. Looking over wall you have an amazing view of valley below. They had a perfect room for a family of five. Each boy had there own bed and we all had our own "space". It was not just one great big room, they layout was nice. Great views, very charming hotel, at night there was a great breeze and we slept with window open.

Review 60:Rooms are small and comfortable but the bathroom was tight. But, this still doesn't take away from the overall rating.

Review 61:Erica was a great host/receptionist. She was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was nice and clean. We would go back without a doubt.

Review 62:There was no central air conditioning.

Review 63:The hotel was conveniently located right in the city center and one street over from the old part of town. It is so beautiful I would recommend staying here.

Review 64:We ended up paying a bit more than we expected from our original booking. No problem with the car parking fee on the road but some extra taxes seemed to be involved.

Review 65:Lovely room and breakfast and so near to the centre.

Review 66:The bed mattresses could be a little more substantial. Installing tasteful ceiling fans, or having oscillating fans close at hand, for those more frequent hot summer nights would be a wise investment in regards to staying ahead of competitors. Some of the neighbors spend late hours socializing with friends out on their patio.

Review 67:The staff was very friendly, helpful, and helpful. The entire interior was very nice, inviting, and spotless. The breakfast included a wide selection. The location is ideal for a stay within Rothenburg.

Review 68:Absolutely nothing

Review 69:Excellent location with friendly, helpful staff. Also ate in their restaurant and, despite the generous portions, the food was superb and is highly recommended.

Review 70:I want to write a complete and honest review but no one in my family can list a single thing they didn't like!

Review 71:Klosterstuble is centrally located with easy access on foot to anywhere within the city walls. Although the inn was full we never heard noises from any other room. This is one of the quietest most comfortable places I have ever stayed.

Review 72:The bats!!!!Don't leave your windows open at night even if it is uncomfortably hot or else expect, unexpected guests (bats).

Review 73:Location was excellent

Review 74:Germany was experiencing a rare heat wave. Our room did not have AC and we understand that it probably isn't needed often. One thing that would have helped us sleep much better is a fan. We had a very warm, sleepless night.

Review 75:The Hotel was beautiful and charming. The room was clean. The breakfast was the best we had on our two week trip, and service was superb.

Review 76:There was nothing we did not like about this property.

Review 77:We liked everything about this property. The common areas, the rooms, the location, the restaurant... all were lovely and packaged in a historic, centrally located building just a few blocks off the main city square. The breakfast was delicious and served in an elegant fashion. The rooms were historic yet up to date and very comfortable and afforded wonderful views.

Review 78:The staff are excellent and go out of their way to help from arranging Street parking outside of the hotel to very helpful and tentative to needs at breakfast and dinner. Hotel room was very comfortable very clean and well laid out with good facilities. The breakfast was excellent. On the first night We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellant with a good choice of dishes. Hotel is very well located close to all attractions. Hope to return to the area again and will definitely be staying here.

Review 79:Really lovely charming hotel close to the main square and also close to a beautiful view over the Tauber valley. Beautiful well equipped rooms. Helpful staff. Great restaurant on site.

Review 80:Erica was welcoming and wonderful. She helped me park the car and carried my wife's giant suitcase effortlessly up 3 flights. Great place. Highly recommend.

Review 81:The bathroom, although large, was not too modern.

Review 82:It's a charming little hotel just off the Main Street. There is parking and the location is perfect. We did not spend too much time in the hotel as we walked all over Rothenburg

Review 83:Everything about this hotel was fantastic. We had 2rooms that each was unique and had that old charm appeal. The receptionist was wonderful, answered all of our questions. When we were out touring the town, she was off work, recognized us and asked how we liked her city and also asked if she could help us with anything.

Review 84:Nothing!

Review 85:Great place to stay! Rooms are spacious with lots of character! Hotel has lots of character and centrally located. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Review 86:The staff was helpful and friendly. The location was great and the hotel was extremely clean. They spoke English very well until they realized we could speak German, then they happily switched to German fro the rest of our trip.

Review 87:We have only one minor complaint, which is that the hotel's wifi signal was not very strong in our particular room. However, between the free Rothenburg city wifi and the hotel desktop computer we had not trouble staying connected.

Review 88:The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was great. The hotel location was both easy to find by car (no trouble parking across the street) and well-situated for touring the city by foot.

Review 89:The place has been remodeled since our last visit years ago and they kept the quaint ambience that makes it so special. You can't go wrong with this place - best location, great dining, every room is unique. Also the lowest price we paid for a 3 person room in our 11 day trip throughout Europe.

Review 90:Breakfast was not included in the price, but was excellent.

Review 91:Such a charming building g with tons of character! The staff were very friendly and helpful!

Review 92:Lovely four poster bed! Very comfortable bed and pillows. Excellent breakfast in an atmospheric setting. Good shower. Dear little bedroom with view out to countryside and city wall. I will stay again!

Review 93:Nothing bad to report here

Review 94:Friendly helpful staff. Spacious modern room in a medieval building. Great location in the old town. Great breakfast for 9 euro.

Review 95:Can't complain about a thing, except I wished the mattresses had been a little bit softer. My old arthritic bones didn't like the hard-as-a-rock bed.

Review 96:great staff, and very helpful. Gave us some suggestions for restaurants that totally made our stay over-the-top. Location is fantastic...easy walk to everywhere. Very clean, very comfortable ( altho the beds were a bit too hard for me); we had a corner room with windows everywhere for great ventilation. Just perfect! Fantastic breakfast, too.

Review 97:The hotel is located very near the town square. We had some transportation difficulties and the hotel staff sorted it out for us. Breakfast was not included, but do eat here. They served eggs. The rooms are authentic - nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. The Klosterstuble is a good value.

Review 98:I hammered my head into the toilet doorframe several times. It was too low. However it is a very old house, so I guess this is to be expected :-)

Review 99:The positive and friendly and very helpful staff

Review 100:Nothing bad about it, just perfect!

Review 101:This boutique hotel was just perfect! It was built in 1534, but has be completely renovated in a modern simple manner that keeps the true charm of the original building. The staff was so great and very helpful. We were only here one night and loved the room and the city so much, we wanted to return at the end of our trip. We were not able to do so, but I look forward to a trip to the magical village in the future and another great stay at this hotel.

Review 102:Enjoyed being able to walk everywhere, shop, take advantage of eating in the square. Enjoyed the Night Watchman Tour! Wish we could have stayed longer.

Review 103:Free wifi was spotty, constantly had to restart gizmos or shut wifi off and back on. Night time could be a little noisy when leaving window open.

Review 104:Great location, comfortable rooms, large bathrooms, helpful staff, loads of charm

Review 105:Everything was great by I think gifts from US soldiers and NATO troops in the reception area are unnecessary. Also WiFi is quite unstable.

Review 106:Super authentic hotel for very low price. I guess that's how Germans lived while back. Service is very good. I couldn't try their restaurant because it was closed the day we stayed.

Review 107:The main rooms were on the first floor which, in Europe, means the second floor. Luggage has to be carried up the stairs because there is no elevator in this old building. The bed was uncomfortable as well as the room furniture. Access to the town was close, only requiring a short walk to the main plaza.

Review 108:The staff was most accommodating and helpful. The rooms were ample in size and obviously part of the original building.

Review 109:Very quaint, close to the action. If you are into luxury this is not your hotel but if you are here to soak up the German experience, this is your place. Enjoyed our stay.

Review 110:Great location in the old part of the city. Walking distance to many restaurants and shop as well as the wall around the town which is really cool. Wish we had more time there.

Review 111:The room was nice, had character and was spacious and clean. The building was cool down to the squeaky floor and food great. The staff was superb! I would stay there again and again. Highly recommended for sure!

Review 112:Friendly and efficient staff. Very nice room, comfortable and clean. Great location. Nice style to hotel, beautiful wooden ceiling in room and antique furniture.

Review 113:Was great experience in exceptionally appealing and well-preserved medieval town. This also means no elevators! So be prepared to haul your bags up flights of stairs!

Review 114:Room was spacious and set up for comfort, livability. Beautifully remodeled with modern plumbing, amenities.

Review 115:WiFi is quite poor in old, stone buildings. The staff are constantly improving and we managed to tap into a free wifi anyway, but not solidly in the room.

Review 116:Erika. That lady makes the hotel what it is. It has great location, lovely decor and pleasant rooms but without the warmth of the manager it could all go flat. Dinner was nice, breakfast was amazing. My lactose intolerance was no problem and gluten intolerance could also be handled without fuss.

Review 117:Not much to complain about, maybe that WiFi wasn't free and parking was on the street but certainly not deal breakers

Review 118:Great location. Nice Staff. Cute and quirky room.

Review 119:Nothing worth of noting.

Review 120:Not only is the location great and the hotel itself charming in its own small sized-old-house structure, but the staff makes you feel very welcome. Simple but very good breakfast - worth the 7.5 EUR.

Review 121:A cultural thing perhaps, but no tea of coffee making facilities in the room was a let down. However staff were happy to bring it up from the kitchen.

Review 122:Room was very spacious, very clean, lovely features and the breakfast couldn't be beaten for the price.

Review 123:No mini fridge in our room. Stayed on top floor lots of stairs to climb with baby in hand, no elevator.

Review 124:Staff was execellent, so nice and willing to give or provide any information needed. Breakfast was great with amazing service. Location was perfect short walk to town square. Nice view from room, park to walk dog behind the hotel. Wonderful stay, would stay again if returning to Rothenburg.

The Fine Print
