Reviews for Blue Lagoon Beach Resort

Review 1:The food wasn't the best for the 99FJD paid. We were very ill one night and suspected food poisoning. The restaurant took ages to serve us lunch one day forgetting to put our order in we sat there for an hour and then they bought the wrong thing out. A la carte evening menu service was slow. Things worked better as a buffet and there are not enough tables to sit at when the place is busy either so we ended up having people share a small table with us. Vegetarians are not really catered for very well, it's lucky that I also eat seafood as the veggie option was normally pasta. Sadly because of so many things cancelled and the weather being bad we did feel a bit bored here and there is no where to go inside apart from our dorm room. If we had the money to stay in a private room & the sun had shone I think we would have enjoyed it a little more. Over all it was a good stay but we had a much better experience at the other resorts on the islands in Fiji.

Review 2:Nacula is a beautiful island although it'll take ages on the Yasawa flyer it's worth it. The resort is all new and pretty lovely too. Great facilities like the pool, beach loungers and shades, yoga class, treks. Sadly when we were there due to the cyclone almost all the activities were cancelled but lots is available normally. Nice clean dorm room and big shared bathroom too at a very good price.

Review 3:They should maybe organize more day trips and different activities such as cooking classes? ( even though they already have some).

Review 4:Overall we had an amazing time at Blue Lagoon and we will definitely be back. We stayed in a Lodge Accomodation with share bathroom. The cleaners came every day to do you room and regualry cleaned the shared bathroom. The staff is really friendly and always available. The food was always good with big portions ( the fish buffet is amazing !). There is a nice realx area close to the restaurant with hammocks and bean bags; the swimming pool is clean and has lots of space around where you can chill out. I would highly recommend it.

Review 5:Shower / Tap water is a bit salty take a heap of fresh water if you are staying for a while and want to wash your hair. We did so it was fine. You also get used to the saltiness.

Review 6:Beautiful resort beautiful villa on right on the beach amazing water with a reef just meters away for snorkeling. Great scuba diving facilities and packages. Fantastic meals at a reasonable price when you compare what is available at the other resorts.

Review 7:Best to go not during rainy season as swimming, diving and snorkelling are amazing up here it would be a shame to miss out due to bad weather

Review 8:This place is amazing! Staff were super friendly, food was amazing and all the activities were super affordable

Review 9:- staff on the island are very relaxed, in fact, a bit disorganized, the service is not professional. - My dad had found a sharp fish bone in his meal (baby octopus) on our last night of stay, the sharp bone got stuck in his throat which we managed to pull it out ourselves, when we talked to the management, they tried to explain it wasn't the kitchen's fault as they purchased their octopus from the suppliers and its not contaminated in their kitchen. When I told her this could be so much worse as it is very dangerous, we were the told much worse things had happened on the island in the resort that she has the helicopter's number on speed dial. The management were eating on the table next to us at the time and a lady from the table said to us that 'your dad is gonna be fine as the wound is in his mouth". The food was consumed on their premise, prepared in their kitchen. How it has happened is something the management should look into and avoid in the future. But when such an incident did happen, I would expect more than an explanation on how its not the resort's fault and a comment saying you are going to be fine. Unfortunately, we've already prepaid for all our meals and had received no compensation for the incident and not even a 'sorry' from the resort. My 2 year old son was also there and I cant imagine what can happen if he is the one who ate the bone! - the departure from the island was a total disaster, several of us didn't have our return boat fare booked by the resort when we were all told it had already been looked after. - The room was not very clean which I fully expect on such a tropical island, but to the extend that there were blood stain on one of the pillow!

Review 10:The aircon kept breaking and we didn't have power at one stage. There was gecko pooping from the ceiling which concerned us but didn't seem to be a concern to the staff. We stayed in the family beach front villa.

Review 11:the beach is awesome and the beach front villa looks awesome too. Great food also

Review 12:- There should be an cheaper option for half board, as I was not hungry at lunch time, but would eat anyway, since I paid for the mandatory full board.

Review 13:- Staff, especially Annie, the host for night entertainment - The food - The beach - The dorm - The corals - Village tour

Review 14:The flies can be a nuisance

Review 15:Local hospitality second to none. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. They welcome you "home" with a song when you arrive on the beach.

Review 16:There weren't enough 'free' loungers. The ones in front of the villa's were reserved for the villa's which is perfectly fine for the price they paid but there should have been more for others to use.

Review 17:We stayed in a lodge and thought that was perfect value for money. The bures looked nice but where way more expensive. The beach and lagoon are amazing. Snorkeling and swimming were great and possible at both high and low tide. Food was good. Highly recommended.

Review 18:- breakfast, missed some hearty alternatives - floor of the villa was always a bit dirty - beach towels were missing on some days

Review 19:- location is just amazing - the view from the hotel and the peak - most of the food was very tasty - staff very friendly and helpful - garden villa is good value - massages were very well done by Ruby - entertainment program had a good variety - 2 cute house cats (always hungry)

Review 20:Stinky towels. Staff should promote services as massages more as we found out there are massages available on our very last day and we didn't make it. Sunbeds floating in the water at the evening high tide. Staff should put them up before high tide starts. Beach towels more accessible for guests. As I mentioned in other reviews, was not enough for us to have just 3 meals a day. We are active couple going to the gym and use to eat more often. It wasn't even possible to buy anything healthy (fish, salad) for a snack between main meals. We were hungry. I would expect more activities organised by the resort.

Review 21:Beautiful beach, the blue colour of the lagoon was just stunning. Chilled atmosphere, very laid back and relaxing. Great food, fresh, good variety, very tasty. Staff very friendly and helpful, the best from all resorts where we stayed at. Amazing pool with sunbeds around with a great view. Nice live music but it should be music playing all the time at the bar I suppose. Pontoon in the ocean! We enjoyed our stay at Blue Lagoon a lot.

Review 22:Beverages are reeeaally expensive there, tours and dive course were more expensive than what the website was showing, expensive compulsory meal package (we could order just one option from menu and the meal size wasn't enough sometimes).

Review 23:Amazing place, relaxing, nice and kind staff, good food.

Review 24:Most of shadows were exclusive for bure clients. Dive stuff, but Jeff (he is the only friendly)

Review 25:Beaches, location, facilities, clealiness and comfort in dormitory

Review 26:Don't have a complaint and will definitely be back one day

Review 27:Beautiful location, really great food for the meal plan. Friendly staff and clean dorms. Found it was a good atmosphere even though travelling alone

Review 28:The service at the restaurant was awful, waiting 10-15 minutes for a spoon to eat desert with and everything else we asked for.

Review 29:Loved the location, the range of activities and the food.

Review 30:With many people sharing the bathroom facilities and the wet weather, it could have done with an extra mop and maybe refreshed towels but overall pretty good.

Review 31:A nice resort with friendly staff - they helped me find my luggage after the ferry staff sent it elsewhere, though this happened in 'Fiji time'! the resort is a good set up for solo travellers, easy to meet people and make conversation in the social areas. The best snorkelling of all the resorts with the reef just a few metres out

Review 32:Really bad internet connection, it works a few hours per day only. After seafood dinner I felt very sick for a few days, I think the seafood were not fresh. Price is too high.

Review 33:Beatiful location ! Nice coral reef with lot of colorful fish. A lot o diferent activities - hiking, trips, diving, snorkeling, free kayaking..... Amazing breakfast.

Review 34:The flies but there is nothing the resort can really do about this.

Review 35:The food here is incredible. Staying in a dorm it was so nice to not have to sleep in bunk beds. The resort is clean and the staff are incredible. You feel so welcome and like part of the family. I cannot recommend this resort enough. Total paradise and a hidden gem.

Review 36:They made you buy a mean plan for 99(FJD) per person per night. This is steep by Fijian standards, However the food was high-end restaurant quality and it was the same across the board, from dorms to luxury bures. Also, you are in the middle of the Pacific Ocean...........

Review 37:The Blue Lagoon - what's not to like They have everything that you can think of, including on-staff scuba instructors for all levels (who also service other resorts in the Blue Lagoon) The scenery is idyllic A variety of day-trips

Review 38:The only complaint I have is that sometimes when the food is served, it's a little cold. But maybe that comes with serving meals in large groups and being on Fiji time ;)

Review 39:This place is beautiful. The beds are comfy, and everything was clean, even the shared bathrooms for the dorms. The food was tasty and the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The beach is exactly what you think it'd be, soft white sand with crystal blue water and a really colourful reef. We definitely want to return!

Review 40:Wifi was free but very hard to connect to.

Review 41:Loved just about everything about this resort. Great staff, great food, great activities, and the beach is absolutely beautiful. I stayed in the dorms and it felt like a 5 star dorm - definitely worth the price.

Review 42:Lodges expensive if travelling alone. Communal toilets and shower area can get grubby when busy. Internet very hard to get access!! Ferry long journey time especially if weather bad.

Review 43:Ocean amazing! Staff great. Food outstanding!!!!! Location you are far away from mainland fiji. Local village Nacula is a must visit. Heaven on earth if weather is good...

Review 44:We cant do the discovery diving course as staff is not free. Flies populate the restaurant. Bed sheets are sticky. There arent enough acivities- it seems to be a resort for the relaxing type rather than the active.

Review 45:The cave trip was fun. Welcome ceremony and drinks were great.

Review 46:Dirty shower room, toilet and floor. Bed felt sticky. Felt rushed in the restaurant. Others laundry and linen left outside villa. Other villas looked new ours run down. Dogs and flies in dining area. Cold food. Funny tasting water.

Review 47:Beach

Review 48:The wind was too heavy when we stayed their. We tried to rent the eauipment to row the boat, but the staff did not allow us to do so because of the wind. It was not their fault, but it was still a pity.

Review 49:Food and service

Review 50:We loved everything about this beautiful resort! The staff are all so lovely and helpful. The resort itself is so nice and clean and tidy and the room we stayed in (garden villa) was so gorgeous and spacious with a huge lovely outside bathroom! The food was way beyond our expectations and we were always full up!!! Would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely go back.

Review 51:The wifi is real bad and non-existent at night time. Just forces you to enjoy the beach I guess

Review 52:The place is stunning with waters that are crystal clear. This, complemented with the lovely staff, made for a perfect break here. Would definitely recommend it

Review 53:Loved the environment, just so beautiful.Choice to do absolutely nothing or to go on interesting trips.. Staff very kind to each other and to guests, so there was a good feeling amongst everyone.

Review 54:Stunning location, very friendly staff and a fun programme of activities available. This is a fantastic place to relax and enjoy some wonderful snorkelling or diving.

Review 55:The staff should be more attentive. At lunch and dinner time we were waiting to long for ordering our meal. Most of the time we had to ask the waitress to order.

Review 56:The staff here are super friendly and more than willing to make your stay more pleasant. Meals are on point - absolutely delicious. Would recommend this to anyone. Despite a long boat ride (and not having the best sea legs) this was well worth the trip!

Review 57:Bad experience not with the resort but with the ocean dream ferry liner. Too Fiji time. Long delay but take it for granted.

Review 58:I like its meal plan and some of the activities. Activities are reasonably priced. Cave trip is a great experience.

Review 59:Some of the staff, particularly the ones in the dive shop aren'thelpful, useful or friendly. Compared to the other island we stayed at,this was the least friendly out of the bunch. Oh, the shared toiletswere bad during our stay, another worst during our holiday.

Review 60:Its very very pretty around there and the reef is incredible. Freekayaks are ace, and the bar staff are excellent.

Review 61:Restaurant staff are not that friendly as we expected. They were only very happy when we order drinks.

Review 62:views are good. reception manager is helpful and good communication skills

Review 63:Staff could have been friendlier. Dissapointed that my sunglasses thatwe picked up by staff were never returned to me after many attempts toget them back.

Review 64:The water was incredible. The snorkelling was amazing. I liked the freekayak hire and the access to wifi.

Review 65:nothing, it's just perfect

Review 66:the water is just amazing, so clear and so blue the food is very delicious and always fresh there are always a few organised activity during the day and also in the evening the staff is so friendly and helpful

Review 67:Villa 14 is poorly located behind the kitchen, instead of hearing the ocean you hear the fridge ventilation and the fan is not well installed. I was relocated but the second option was even more disappointing, there where rats in the bathroom. I got a discount and a new villa which was great but I was disappointed to experienced the above considering the price.

Review 68:The hotel design, decor and food were great.

Review 69:I didn't like that at low tide the local staff have to walk home even if it's dark- it's pitch black there after 6pm.

Review 70:Amazing island- so beautiful. Food was great. Room was nice and clean. The beach was incredible. Visit to local village was amazing. Staff were really nice. Good mixture of activities and socialising if you want, or you can just be left alone too.

Review 71:Leaving! I wish we had spent our whole holiday here instead of the main land!

Review 72:Absolutely magical! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and was so great having everything pre-paid for. Great spot for snorkelling, diving and relaxing. Highly recommend!! We will defiantly be back! Vinaka :)

Review 73:The staff was sometimes not very kind and helpful especially for dinning. We had to pay for our last day meal which was not fair as we had no choice because there was no other restaurant or supermarket on the island.

Review 74:The blue lagoon, the beach, the breakfast, the bed was comfortable with air con

Review 75:WiFi is very insecure in Fiji and here especially. They are working hard to sort it out but don't rely on 100% access. Only for emails and not long attachements

Review 76:The staff make the place. The facilities are beautifully presented, fresh flowers every day on your bed to add the finishing touch. Snorkelling off the beach is the best I've ever seen. Meals are more than you can eat

Review 77:loved the atmosphere, the beach is amazing with really good snorkeling, staff is friendly, welcoming and lovely, the food is delicious. dorm beds are super comfortable and ac is available. its just paradise.

Review 78:The bar was a little over priced... Perhaps they should consider a sensor light for the shared bathroom at night so there's not so many bugs!

Review 79:The ocean colour was the most beautiful we've ever seen. We did the 4.5hr ferry trip to get there... and it was the most beautiful of all of the islands. The staff, the food, the activities (100% do the cave trip), the atmosphere... just perfect. This is now our top holiday destination!

Review 80:Can't comment on the diving, excursions as we were stuck on the island.

Review 81:Have to start by saying the staff here were amazing! (JP and Jerry especially) We stayed in a dorm, which has single beds and air con! Where only the beach front villas have air con apart from the dorms. The food was to a very good standard, but unfortunately due to cyclone Pam being in the vicinity we had limited choice on the menu. Shared bathroom was more than adequate too. Overall I would highly recommend visiting this resort.

Review 82:Wifi was hit and miss

Review 83:I loved everything! The beach was gorgeous, crystal clear water, reef was right there, quite and relaxing but fun at night. Food was exquisite and 5 star! I met amazing people from all over the world!!

Review 84:Room was way too hot we hardly slept for 3 days! No wifi for 2 days! No water in room on first night. Didn't enjoy the buffet night. Overall for the amount of money I paid I was extremely disappointed!

Review 85:I enjoyed the location and Fijian staff friendliness

Review 86:Dorms and villas have a/c but lodge rooms only have fans and while we were there this was uncomfortable in heat and humidity. It was all that was available for our dates but we would have enjoyed better accommodation much more.

Review 87:Beautiful beach location, friendly staff, good food. New management will improve efficiency of service but relaxed attitude of staff was not an issue for us.

Review 88:I loved it all.

Review 89:The dorm room has air con and is very very nice!! The food is incredible. There are plenty of activities hosted all day and very fairly priced. The village trip was great. There are plenty of places to hang out in the shade and in the sun. I can't wait to visit again.

Review 90:The staff was rude to us once we paid the bill at checkout, because 1 hour later they realised that something was missing from the account (some kayak) so they chased us through the whole resort as if we were criminals (for 4$). Then, I had to go again to pay, and this time the TPV didn't work, so Ihad to stay at the office for almost 50 minutes instead of enjoying at the beach the time left that morning. Besides, we bought some packed lunch(20$) to take to the boat back to the main island that they never delivered!!! They were more worried about the 4$ they missed than the service they had to provide. Very poor experience, will never go back and won't recommend to anybody. So don't go there unless you want to be treated as if you were an annoyance.

Review 91:The place is ok, more a family resort than any other place in the Yasawas. If you are looking for that, is fine, however this is not the true Yasawas experience. They were NOT enough facilities to the people at the beach to lie down, even that they say there were.

Review 92:The very positive reviews I read before going to BLBR made me a bit sceptic, but there is little not to like at this place. Maybe the activities are a bit 'Club Med'-ish, but there is no need to partake. Also the water in the swimming pool was rather hot whilst you would expect (and appreciate) more a cold swim..

Review 93:We stayed in one of the dorms and this was great! Very spacious room, single beds (no bunks) and daily cleaned by the great staff. Shared bathrooms had warm water and were also cleaned regularly. The food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) was great with lots of choices and daily specials. Meal plan was great, also since there is no other place to eat at the island. Snorkeling right from the beach was beautiful due to the corals (which on the other hand means regular swimming is a bit more difficult and requires some more effort). Staff was friendly and helpfull. Also appreciated the free wifi (although a bit unstable from time to time) and free coffee, tea and water. The layout of the bar and restaurant invite you to meet new people, although there are sufficient private tables for the guests that appreciate a bit more privacy. Great value for money!

Review 94:The activity in the evening the first night I was there was "relaxation night", so basically, nothing was going on... Sometimes the meat in some meal were a bit overcooked

Review 95:The staff was really friendly Paid activities were cheap (compare to other resort, i.e. SUP and village 10$ vs 25$) AC in the dorms; awesome since I was there when is was like 40 degrees! Food was good Free Wi-Fi in main areas Awesome snorkelling right in front of the resort

Review 96:Shower and beach towels weren't available when we arrived because the resort was busy and we didn't get any after requesting multiple times.

Review 97:The beach is one of the best in the Yasawas and the meal package is good value compared to other resorts in the area.

Review 98:Great place to relax, verry cheap to stay in the dorm, food was excellent (sometimes portions were a bit to small), staff is very friendly, all in all highly recommended

Review 99:Spectacular setting, rugged mountainous backdrop to stunning white sandy beaches. Incredibly warm and friendly staff. Full buffet breakfast, no better way to start the day. Comfortable dorm beds, best Ive slept in on my travels throughout the world, to have this standard for a mere $30 Fijian dollars is incredible value, on tropical paradise!!!! Good walking trails for a little exercise if so wish and great sunset/sunrise viewing from lookout points. Amazing diving, saw a handful of bull sharks + other varities on one dive, great soft coral diving

Review 100:Fantastic resort. Food was amazing, staff very friendly. We stayed in the dorm and they were the best dorms w had ever been in!! Beautiful beach a great pool. Snorkelling was great too.

Review 101:No air condition in the villa. People in the office clearly treating white people nicer than other races.

Review 102:Great beach. Good activities. Foods were not so bad.

Review 103:No wardrobe in the Bula lodge :(. Only a few hangers. Difficult to live in the room with all my stuff on the floor.

Review 104:Unbelievable! This paradise resort cannot be expressed in words. The service of this place is amazing. And a gluten free heaven for us who needs it; when I ordered a burger the chef even made a fresh gluten free bun for me! And a special gluten free coconut cake for dessert one evening, not only fruit platters here! The beach is a dream.

Review 105:Could do with a bigger lounge area for more people

Review 106:The food was incredible. Beds were comfortable and clean. Staff went above and beyond for everyone. Given beach and shower towels. Hot water. Constant supply of tea and coffee!!

Review 107:This place just blew me away! The friendliness of the staff was exceptional, the food was so so good and the evening and daytime activities on during the day made my stay fantastic. I was a solo traveller and made friends for life in my dorm, such a friendly close knit resort full of smiling people! Paradise! Thank u so much

Review 108:- nothing in particular! Quite far (4.5 hours) from Denarau Marina.

Review 109:- great snorkeling right off beach - very relaxed but many activities - free water and internet

Review 110:I wish they had a tai chi or yoga program . The lack of consideration by tourists who do not understand the principles of caring for coral ie don't stand on it. The dangers of coral ...

Review 111:No. Cars, no shops, no TV ...if you like relaxing this is the place. You must love swimming and the sea. You must love a sandy beach ...Everything happens and the staff are so friendly and want to help you have a great stay. The food is really good with options available, you don't often get that on these islands . Breakfast is awesome . You can choose your activities for the day, but they do cost( apart from walking up the mountain, basket making and demos like learn about the coconuts ) . Or totally relax in a hammock and read your books...

Review 112:Most nights the service in the restaurant is really slow, you'll sit there for ten minutes without a waiter approaching you. If you snorkel outside the guarded area you risk being hit by a boat. The drinks at the bar are ridiculously expensive for Fiji.

Review 113:The water and snorkeling is amazing. Food is great and nice sized portions. The garden villa is big and has a great ensuite bathroom. Staff is friendly and helpful. Some nice activities are offered, eg. cave trip, village visit, voi-voi weaving.

Review 114:Nothing!

Review 115:Had a lovely stay at this resort. Stayed in the dorm room which was clean with each bed serviced everyday. Staff very welcoming an friendly and always happy to help. Some fantastic dive spots. Also close to the sawailau caves. They offer a good selection of food choices.

Review 116:There is so much to love about this holiday resort .. Our "Garden Villa" bure with its roofless pebble floor bathroom was home in paradise. A Spacious Bure with lots of wooden shutters to capture the sea breeze, high ceilings, white linen and kept clean everyday.. hibiscus flowers left around the room as your housekeepers calling card.. The prepaid $99FJD/day covers you for a plentiful Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner- all freshly prepared & varied menus were presented to whet your appetite.. There was so much on offer! The layout of the resort's features & amenities was just idillic .. individual villas spaced with privacy within lush gardens, plenty of beach lounge furniture, sandy pathways to lead you everywhere, expansive main bar & dining decks, pool with oversized deckside day beds, hammocks set between Palm trees, well stocked dive & water sports hut, surf skis & paddle boards.. All this combined with all the very natural, friendly staff to make you feel so welcome.. We shed a tear as we were sung the goodbye lullaby!

Review 117:Wi-fi connection was spotty at times

Review 118:This was an excellent choice for anybody looking to get a true getaway experience. The staff was amazing & the food was the same.

Review 119:The internet is annoying. It keeps cutting out and you have to reconnect all the time.

Review 120:The staff and managers are very friendly and helpful. The food is awesome.

Review 121:Great beach, lovely blue water. We were in a new garden villa and it was amazing, with a nice and big outdoor shower and the bed was excellent. Food was very good, many to choose. Nice pool. The staff was friendly It is a paradise on earth, we didn't want to leave.

Review 122:I didn't take any cash as the resort is all inclusive with any extra expenses charged against the room. However the resort doesn't have facilities to provide any cash for souvenir hunting at the local village. It would have been nice to have been able to get a small amount of cash for this and also charge that against my room. I would have been happy to pay a premium for this service if it had been available.

Review 123:I took my wife to Blue Lagoon Resort for a week as a surprise anniversary present. I was a little hesitant as she very much prefers 5 star accommodation. We stayed in a beach front villa and I have to say it was fantastic. The beach and snorkelling were beautiful, the food was excellent, there were enough activities to keep us busy without having to rush for anything. Fresh flowers were laid out every day in our villa and the staff were always friendly and helpful without being overbearing. The number and mix of guests was also really nice with some children, some backpackers, and enough international variety to make it interesting.

Review 124:nothing.

Review 125:Loved this place. so relaxing and set in the most wonderful tranquil bay with crystal clear water and gorgeous beach. We stayed in Garden Bungalow and it was modern and clean and comfortable with a great outdoor shower. Food was fabulous. I didn't wear shoes for 4 days. The most amazing place to check out of a busy life for a while.

Review 126:If we missed a meal, we still had to pay for it and could not claim it later. More hammocks would be appreciated!!

Review 127:Our staff were lovely and helpful. They made us feel right at home. The cave trip was magical, our massages were excellent and the coral reef outside was thrilling. All around, an awesome trip!! The bartenders were beautiful (Nathan, Jimmy & Innoke).

Review 128:The room is not so clean. Too many insects, and water is not so good

Review 129:Food and activities

Review 130:Paradis landscape Amazing view, beach, food Dorm are great

Review 131:best resort and island on the trip. The dorm, beach and food are great!!!

Review 132:Quite far to get to, but worth it

Review 133:Beach and food was excellent, and swimming just off the beach was really good. Activities fun too

Review 134:This place was absolutely incredible!
