Reviews for Schloss Purschenstein
Review 1:The Christmas Eve special dinner was nice, with excellent food served in original ways, but it dragged out over four hours. The service could have been a bit faster.
Review 2:Excellent breakfast buffet. Friendly and helpful staff, especially the general manager, who went out of her way to help us and make us feel comfortable. Clean comfortable room. Very nice spa. Everything understated and upscale, yet priced to be with reach. Our family really enjoyed four nights during the holidays living the good life in this quiet corner of rural Germany.
Review 3:If you want to stay in a (small) German castle, this is it! It's been nicely refurbished by the Dutch owners and there's an excellent (but quite expensive) restaurant. The rooms are furnished with antique furniture
Review 4:I do understand that this hotel is focused on German speaking guest, however there should be menu, signs and general information about the hotel in English (at least) too....
Review 5:I have to high light the staff working in the hotel. Slavi from front desk and two lovely czech girls working in restaurant on our dinner night were all amazing and we have such a great feeling about the stay in general mostly because of the people behind it !
Review 6:Staff seemed to be dissatisfied and not very helpful and forthcoming .Interior design - especially ordinary safety features- and operational features are wanting.
Review 7:Great location and appearance; good restaurant.with good service.
Review 8:Loved everything! IT was a beautiful setting and the service and features of the hotel were wonderful. The setting in a castle enchanting.
Review 9:Place was wonderful, excellent cuisine
Review 10:nothing. it was a wonderful place to spend a night and a beautiful part of the country.
Review 11:Everything! perfect overnight.
Review 12:nothing
Review 13:clean, friendly, luxurious
Review 14:Beds very comfortable Freindly & helpful staff Food excellent
Review 15:It is an hour drive from Dresden. After checking in there is no sizablesmall town nearby with any point of interest. Natural scene is notparticulerly outstanding.
Review 16:At country side with open view to small villages nearby, the Schlossworth a visit if you are of abundant of time and have not been a castle-like accomodation before. The castle is humble but neat and tidy. Roomsare clean and elegant. The breakfast is surprisely generous withteavservedvwith silver wares.
Review 17:Very small rooms. Not suitable for longer stays. Very small pool. Room became quite warm (top) despite moderate outside temperature. No A/C. Good but ordinary breakfast.
Review 18:Fantastic castle in nice environment. The castle itself is the main reason for staying there. Staff was friendly, breakfast was good but nothing special. Ample parking. Would be very much overpriced if not for the the castle itself. This is worth the stay.
Review 19:There could be wine glasses and fridge in the room, now I asked glasses and wine cooler from reception. Some of the staff at restaurant weren't so helpful and fluent in English. It is not so nice, if waitress asks from all the other tables Alles gut? but ignores our table. One evening we wanted to have the daily menu at the restaurant, but the waiter said that he cant sell the menu anymore. We were there about six o'clock and there was only two other couples having dinner. I really couldn't understand that. If they want daily menus to be ordered before, they should tell that also in English. Fortunately there is a small restaurant Grünes Gericht just few hundred meters away. All the information about the hotel and services is in german. It was fine for us but not all people speak german.
Review 20:Room (10) was very spacious and clean. Breakfast was ok.
Review 21:The only drawback was that our suite being on the top floor, we had very low ceilings which made it feel smaller than it actually was. Also we found the door difficult to unlock and had to seek assistance.
Review 22:This is a beautiful hotel in a lovely town; has all the modern amenities and was very comfortable yet retains its historic charm. The staff were very friendly and accomodating, particularly one young man who worked in the restaurant and spoke excellent English. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant and my meal (veal with horseradish sauce, vegetables, and potatoes) was beautifully presented and the most delicious meal I ate during our entire two-week stay in Germany. The breakfast buffet, included in the room rate, was also very good. The view from our third-floor room was exquisite. The spa facilities downstairs were very nice as well. There was ample free parking, and access to walking paths from the hotel grounds. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for first-class accomodations at a reasonable price.
Review 23:It was absolutely wondrful. We came with our four grown up chiuldren andthey absolutely loved it. We found the staff to be wonderful, theresturant was great and the spa message was very relaxing. I can highlyrecomend it. The setting is very charming and it's proximity to Sieffenis very good.
Review 24:The hotel is wonderful, comfortable, clean, friendly, and a delicious breakfast buffet. Definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended.
