Reviews for Esplanade Spa and Golf Resort

Review 1:Strange staff. Value for money. Useless reception. Staff difficult to work with. Requests not accommodated. Unwilling to help. Second night on property would be at second, disconnected building. Didn't stay second night.

Review 2:Good quality room. Nice exterior building and probably better for older couples.

Review 3:Except for the breakfast room, the service was not worthy of a five-star hotel. The reception desk was civil and polite, but uninformed and very cool. The waiters in the restaurant were forgetful and inefficient. The swimming pool had bread crumbs scattered about. One had to reserve and pay for use of the sauna and steam bath--unacceptable in a five-star hotel.

Review 4:The hotel decoration and furnishings were top rate. The setting, above Marienbad, was superb. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The mosaic-lined swimming was a work of art. The restored, 19C elevator was also a work of art. The service in the breakfast was warm and friendly.

Review 5:"Value deal" and "Genius deal" mean they put you up in an annexe in inferior rooms. A rip-off at the price. You don't get the balconied rooms, just dull, cheaply fitted out, non air conditioned rooms off to the side. The staff are just rude and dozy.

Review 6:Excellent breakfast

Review 7:The ac central air condition t not working because of technical problems, and the management of the hotel dead will takes tow weeks to resolveit ???????

Review 8:The massage was pretty basic, not what I expected for what I thought to be a pamper session. The whole atmosphere in spa area was pretty tired.

Review 9:Lovely room, breakfast setting. Friendly staff

Review 10:sauna is not for free ( 25 euro per hour)

Review 11:Amazing hotel, beautiful and clean rooms, lovely swimming-pool, terrace, fantastic and friendly stuff, great food.

Review 12:Would have thought a 5 star spa hotel would have at least a jaccuzzi, steam room and / or sauna for use, which wasn't a paid for extra or require advanced booking.

Review 13:Charm of the hotel, location above the city, welcome reception, room service, rooms.

Review 14:We stayed in the so called 1+1 suite. The major problems are: 1. Just a small curtain to cover the window of bathroom: can easily see through from outside, which is a balcony connected to other rooms in the same floor. 2. Large dark suspended particulates found in the water from bath: called the staff to check, but were informed that the technician were already off work, hence nothing can be done until the next day. But we stayed there for only one night! 3. Water leaking from shower, the whole bathroom floor is very wet! 4. Poor breakfast, limited choice 5. Staff speaks very limited English 6. Walking distance is 10 mins from the town. The walk is very dark at night.

Review 15:Large and spacious room, good wifi, well decorated room. Guarded parking. Nice view from room.

Review 16:- too many one night groups (not well organized accommodation process + noisy!) - restaurant stuff could not prepare steamed meat (only grill). How it work in 5 star hotel? - rest. stuff answered to room order: we are busy with one night group service and you have to wait - is it correct answer to the customer?

Review 17:- location - reception service - housekeeping service

Review 18:No wifi signal in room for mobile devices. Front desk's staff advice to use wifi in lobby or hallway should not be the solution(wifi routers/extenders?). Please improve.

Review 19:I've visited the hotel with my wife and 1 year old baby. We've been pleased with excelent food, very good room service, good location(walking shortcuts to signing fontaine), kids friendly environment with playground next to the hotel, very friendly staff in breakfast and dinner restaurants, nice pool in hotel. Big rooms(nice balcony view). Very relaxing in overal.

Review 20:Foul smell. We experienced some weird sewage-like smell coming out of the A/C and kitchen burnt-oil smell coming in through the windows.

Review 21:Pleasant atmosphere, enjoyable comfort, friendly staff.

Review 22:The receptions staff need to speak English

Review 23:Nice hotel ,

Review 24:The Best hotel in Marianske Lazne!

Review 25:.. The spa bath wasn't working ! (room 302) + hair from previous guest in the bath :S

Review 26:Everything was amazing except...

Review 27:all perfect as always

Review 28:Nothing

Review 29:All of it, we will come back in the future

Review 30:The weather could have been kinder to us but I doubt you had any influence in thst mstter.

Review 31:The staff were excellent. The meals generous and delicious. The wine list offers a good variety and quality. some staff had excellent English, may I suggest some training be given by them to staff who wish to lesrn. we had an excellent stsy with you

Review 32:The hotel is on the edge of Marianske Lazne and is an 8-10 minute uphill walk from the centre so not great if you are not very mobile.

Review 33:Beautiful hotel. We had a large room with balcony and a large well equipped bathroom, all very clean. Breakfast was plentiful and varied with excellent service. well recommended. Great walks are close by.

Review 34:Everything costs extra ! Pool (12€ each) and spa (50€ish), and treatments. Staff OK, but not brilliant.

Review 35:Beautiful building, location and hotel overall. A true original and classic grand 19th century Spa Hotel, frequented by King Edward VII. Located in the heart of the old Spa area, surrounded by other impressive buildings , and with lovely views. Breakfast is fine, but not really UK or GE 5-star standard.

Review 36:Swimmingpool should be free of charge, and Internett was not functioning well.

Review 37:Everything was very Nice. Big hotellrom, god and varied breakfast. Attentive straff.

Review 38:when booking there should be information on which side of the building the room is - this makes difference. There is an awkward practice of allocating breakfast tables to the rooms unlike in all hotels where I stayed where the choice of the table is free. In a 5 star hotel I would expect a hospitality drawer with kettle and/ or a coffee machine and a complimentary bottle of water /there are several local mineral waters in ML/.

Review 39:good location on the border of the forrst park, still not far from the town centre. Clean spacious rooms and bathrooms. Very good restaurant and excellent Thai massage. Hard matraces which is rare in hotels.

Review 40:No ac in the entire hotel. No compensation offered. Small pool, chargeto use it is outrageous for a 5 star hotel. Went last year, was good, this year, last time at this place.

Review 41:Our 2nd visit was a total disappointment compared to the previous year.A 5 star hotel should be more consisted. As a return guest they firstgave us a small room on the side of the hotel, with no balcony, no view- we declined. They gave us a handicapped room, shower had a dead roachon the floor, water went all over the bathroom floor when taking ashower. No soap in the shower (dispenser). Drain in sink did not work.Mini-Bar fridge did not work. Ac not working, it was 29 degrees in ourroom. They assigned us another room and gave us a bottle of champagne.Found out that the ac in the entire hotel did not work, nobody botheredto tell us. Outside temperature was over 30 degrees, our room was barelybelow that. Complained again, offered to move us to the parking lot sideof the hotel, rooms are cooler there was the explanation. Hugedisappointment, only 5 star hotel in town, should be downgraded to 4.Restaurant staff was friendly, front desk did not seam to care aboutanything, sorry, ac is not working was the only answer we got. We do notrecommend this hotel anymore, the owner who lives onsite did not careone bit and would not offer any restitution. Avoid this hotel.

Review 42:Looks to me that 5 stars is not the correct rating more 4 stars. But maybe compare to level in CZ its OK. Stuff were not so friendly in reception.

Review 43:Breakfast in huge with big choice. swimming pool is nice. Nice view

Review 44:Terrace on the first floor was dirty and the outside furniture needed to be repainted. The knowledge of English or other languages then Czech, was insufficiënt with most of the staff, wich often lead to misunderstandings and discussions that could be avoided.

Review 45:Good food. Rooms are ok. Pleasant atmosphere throughout the hotel. Very quiet and excellent environment. Good infrastructure regarding the wellness threatments.

Review 46:The food was unsavory (both breakfast and dinner).

Review 47:Hotel exterior design, location, view from the window. Drinking mineral water. Spa service staff.

Review 48:Missed tea & coffe facilities, towels were too small

Review 49:Location was great

Review 50:The professionalism of staff is not appropriate for the 5 stars hotel, especially in the spa area

Review 51:Excellent location; Pretty good swimming pool

Review 52:Swimmingpool was closed during our stay (technical reasons). No Wifi in the room.

Review 53:Room, bathroom, breakfast

Review 54:Spa is one of the best

Review 55:City's view

Review 56:Friendly and help some staff, nice and big room.
