Review 1：Receiving Wi-Fi in our room was not possible we were at the rear of the hotel but it was excellent in all public areas

Review 2：Very clean, spacious and comfortable room with balcony. Able to relax in a quiet and peaceful setting. Lots of lovely places to walk nearby. Owner and staff are very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Restaurant was good

Review 5：The tranquil setting of the hotel, the bedrooms are clean and well equipped and the food in the restaurant is very good. I would recommend the Black Forest Gateau - Good location in the Black Forest, ideal relaxing hotel for either a one night stop or to use as a base for a holiday. Note it is up a hill accessible by a narrow road so is about 2 miles from the main road.

Review 6：We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions as a stopover on our return to the UK. We like the family run business and its peaceful location in beautiful surroundings especially when our visits are in winter with the snow clad hillsides. The road to it could be a bit daunting without snow tyres/4x4 in winter.

Review 9：I did not mind so much, but American travelers may find the two-way traffic, one lane road up the mountain without street lights a bit challenging at night. Recommend day time arrival under good road conditions.

Review 10：Wonderful atmosphere with Black Forrest and cow fields view from private balcony and breakfast area. Very clean and comfortable with radiator in room for personal adjustment. Clean bathroom in room and nice breakfast with reserved table for overnight guests. Your name will be on the table.

Review 13：We were very lucky with the weather but would have been hard to fill the days up if it was raining as nearest towns a bit quiet and semi-industrial. Also best to brush up on your German as we found it difficult to communicate sometimes

Review 21：Beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the forest. Very peaceful, wonderful location for walking (serious or just strolling). Food also excellent and staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 23：Location, location, location. We are avid hikers and this hotel was located in the hills near many trails which made hiking very easy to plan. The food was excellent and the staff very efficient. Our room was very, very quiet (even though downstairs there were several groups celebrating the Christmas holiday in style!

Review 24：Single rooms are really, really tiny, situated basically in the cellar and very cold, too (like is the bed)... I think double room is far better value for money (even for one person!).

Review 28：Loved this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The location was in the middle of no where and just what we wanted. Dinner on the terrace with the wonderful Black Forest in the distance - amazing!

Review 29：There is a public road running past the front of the hotel and hotel tables and chairs are on the other side of the road. This could be hazardous for young children. However, traffic was very light during our three day stay so the risk is minimal.

Review 30：This is a well-run family hotel that meets expectations. Many of the guests are elderly and have been returning to the hotel for their summer holidays for years. The food is good and well cooked. The views over the surrounding countryside are stunning.

Review 31：Not my first visit, and definitely not the last!We once again had a room at the back side of the hotel, with a great view over the valley, a rather spacious one for the price tag, actually... Kalikutt prides itself in serving local cuisine, using as much local produce as possible, and during our two nights we had ample time to get a good impression of what the region (and Kalikutt's chef) has to offer. Whether it's the breakfast buffet, its lunch menu or dinner, quality is excellent, although portions might be largish... A nice little wine list with marvellous value for money, all being served with a smile, hospitality is not just a hollow management phrase for Kalikutt's staff!
