Review 1：Booked this hotel for a romantic night away in Schwerin. Chose this particular hotel over all of the others available due to its 19th Century construction and charm. The reviews and the pictures made this hotel stand out above the others so this was the one for me. When we arrived the staff didn't know about our reservation and couldn't accommodate us, they said that Booking.com hadn't informed them of my booking. The staff did offer to help us find alternative accommodation in Schwerin but they were modern and no comparison to this hotel. In the end we drove home, another 200 miles! I'm lucky that I live in Germany, if we'd have travelled far I don't know what I would have done. The next day I phoned Booking.com to find out what happened. They assured me that the hotel had been informed of my booking. Booking.com asked the hotel to explain why they were not able to accommodate us. This was a week ago and they have still not given me a reason or apologised for the distress that they have caused. If you want to stay here I would certainly phone the hotel in person to confirm your booking as I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else. I have used Booking.com hundreds of times and I have never had an issue like this before.

Review 4：Staff was incredibly helpful! They arranged a late check-in for us (after midnight) and helped us with all other requests we had. Room was great, really big and comfortable. Restaurant downstairs was also great. Food and service - impeccable.

Review 6：The location is good, very close to the Dom. The building has more than 300 years history, and the staff is nice.

Review 7：We were not able to reach the hotel with a car because of some streets being closed in the city. WiFi signal was so week that we could use internet only in some corners of the apartment. Another surprise was breakfast. When your bill for one night in the room, breakfast and parking reaching 150 Eur you expect something more then just very basic hotel food. Seems the overprising is inbuild in this hotel business strategy as even the prices for simple wine in this hotel ( actually winehouse) start from ~30 Eur. And one more - there is no airconditioning in the rooms.
