Review 1：The pillows!! it seems that puffy down pillows that collapse to nothing when you rest your head are normal in German (and Swiss) hotels. Ask them to have some firmer pillows available..........please.

Review 5：Brilliant hotel overlooking the lake. Sparkling wine on arrival, secure parking close by, large room and very clean. The best hotel we stayed in on our tour of Italy, Austria, Germany and France. Uberlingen is a lovely town with plenty of restaurants close to the hotel.

Review 6：I have stayed at many hotels in this town and opted for this more expensive one as it was likely my last business trip there:  - first morning noticed the shower temperature was very variable, intermittently too hot to stand in and then cold. Pressure was poor. Mentioned it later at reception and told someone would look at it. For two days no change. Visited reception again and was ignored by the suited gentleman sitting at a computer behind the desk  - paid my bill on check out the next morning and mentioned my issues. My expectation was that perhaps a small compensation might be possible. First, I was told that there was no chance of a discount because it was arranged through booking.com. Strange. Was offered breakfast but this was not possible for me on that day. Offered free coffee instead (really?). Compromised with the offer of a free breakfast next time I'm in town. Not ideal as this may have been my last visit, and anyway I had no confidence that this note on their system will be made, kept or adhered to  - with all this, did not notice until later that actual the expected bill of 325euro was actually charged as 330euro. Subsequently contact them about this, which they agreed, and was told they would refund the difference. Several weeks later, no such refund has appeared. I know my experience is not the norm but certain of my issues should just never happen in such a place. My preference in future would always be to opt for some of the more charming, Germanic character hotels in the town as these have always shown me consistent quality and service.

Review 7：- the receptionist on arrival was friendly and helpful. This was the first and last positive aspect - complementary sparkling wine at reception.Nice touch but it was warm and fairly flat so bettering customer expectations backfired. - room looked clean and modern but only a single. Well this was my 'deal' though the other hotels I've used in town have tended to upgrade me and provide a larger double anyway

Review 10：Unfortunately we stayed during one of the hottest weeks in Germany and there is no A/C. The breakfast buffet was beautiful and the food was delicious, but as other reviewers have stated a bit expensive.

Review 11：The hotel was beautiful, the room well appointed, and comfortable. The location was perfect as it was in between the walking area (with many restaurants to choose from) and the public "beach" area with swimming access to the lake.

Review 18：Don't misread its German name, the "bad hotel" is an excellent place to stay in the cold season, with its warm rooms and the misty, nostalgic atmosphere of the lakeside. We liked the quiet setting, the elegant and simple decoration and the good bedside lamps. The breakfast buffet is delicious, although not included in the price.

Review 27：Awful service, in particular the manager's surly attitude to the fact that they had ignored our request for a cot for our baby. The hotel rooms are very noisy as they haven't put in decent double glazing for the very noisy Road outside. Lack of availability of iron and ironing board, no provision of a fan in a heatwave. In short, a hotel should ensure two things: good service and a good night's sleep. The Bad hotel unfortunately doesn't deliver these things.

Review 70：The location is unbeatable. The hotel is only separated from the lake by a small park. The facilities are modern and the staff extremely friendly and competent. The breakfast buffet is first rate as well. A must for anyone visiting the Bodensee region.

Review 71：We got a very small, but fairly expensive double room the first night where we hardly could not move around. The next day we moved to an annex with bigger rooms, but less up-to-date design.

Review 73：We came back from a day out at 1530 and found our room not cleaned. We had to track down a housekeeper and wait 30 minutes for it to be done before we could rest before dinner. Parking is limited and in peak season there would not be nearly enough spaces. The breakfast was fine but defiantly not worth the price of 16 euro.

Review 85：The room was functional but basic (no radio). We were placed on the road side of the hotel which was quite noisy at night especially as we needed the windows open as it was very hot weather.

Review 88：Newly renovated rooms are very spacious by European standards.Excellent location; a mere 3 minute walk from the center of town along the lakeside promenade, yet away from most foot traffic and noise from the cafes etc.

Review 89：The whole hotel was recently opened after a complete renovation which is not finished. Thus, the hotel has no character yet, no paintings on the walls, etc. The staff are still learning. Also, we paid extra for a room with a view of the lake. We were put in a room on the third floor with a big tree in front of the windows! You could see a little water peering through the tree branches.
