Reviews for Hotel Zum Goldenen Fässchen
Review 1:Has a distinctive "70's" feel about it, but that's ok with me. Also, the language barrier may be a problem to some, as not many people in this part of Germany speak English. It's up to us to learn German! It's a bit quiet in Winter. I was there in December and was the only guest.
Review 2:I have stayed here several times now as the hotel is perfectly located for my occasional pilgrimage from London to a local war memorial (long story) in nearby Rengen. The hotel is clean & comfortable, with a very nice restaurant and bar area. Outside the hotel is the small town of Daun with many bars, restaurants and shops if you feel the need to explore.
Review 3:Room in the old part of the hotel, old pictures incl. black and white germann sheppard above the bed.TV didn´t work. No 3 star quality at all.
Review 4:Location in the middle of Daun. The room was large, and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was acceptable, although not very inspiring. Good value for money, especially for people walking the Eifelsteig.
Review 5:The Potato Soup at the restaurant was especially good. We had a very nice dinner. The staff was attentive and friendly. The hotel is very clean and charming. Good value.
Review 6:Excellent location. A minutes stroll from the shops, coffee shops, restaurant, bars etc. free parking to front and side of hotel. We had a large room with a balcony at the front of hotel with a great shower! Good plentiful breakfast in a large bright restaurant. Daun is a great location very close to The Nurburgring which is well worth a visit just to do the tour
Review 7:Parking lot for cars and motorcycles Free beers that were slightly over date (owner asked us if we would like to have them free of charge, still tasted as they should!) Nice pittoresk environment, close to vulcanic lake
Review 8:We liked everything. The staff were wonderful and so very helpful. This is our third time at this hotel and we will definitely have a forth. Clean comfortable and a central location for visiting the Eifel region. The food is just perfect. I haven't got a bad word to say about this hotel.
