Kokkedal Castle descritpion

Restored under the patronage of His Royal Highness, Prince Joachim, Kokkedal Castle is a well-preserved medieval castle with impressive views of the Liim Fiord. Kokkedal Castle was built on castle mounds that date back to the Middle Ages; sometime during the 14th century and is handy to some of the most beautiful beaches in Northern Europe.
Located in North Jutland, Kokkedal Castle still includes watchman’s galleries, one meter-thick walls and a secret passage that passes under the moat and drawbridge.
All the historic guest rooms have canopy beds while the 8 fully furnished vacation apartments all have their own terrace and access to sauna and swimming pool during the summer. There is also an outdoor tennis and badminton court.
Wine tastings are held every Saturday in the ancient wine cellar and the guests have the possibility to taste 5 selected wines from the hotel's production and from imported sources.

Reviews for Kokkedal Castle

Review 1:Not very friendly staff. Swimming pool are not at all what it looks like in the pictures. See to that you are not put in the flats in the side building, they are way below the standard in the main building (we were placed there but managed to change).

Review 2:Very good food, nice rooms in the castle, very relaxing surroundings.

Review 3:there were a lot of small disappointing points: - indoor swimming pool can be used only during the summer - despite room description, there was no minibar in the bridal suite - 5 course dinner not possible for no-meat eaters (got a bigger starter instead). The fourth course, fried mozzarella, really was not good - the wine tasting was only in Danish, a real pity because the wines were nice and there was a tour of the castle as well. They could have at least a paper with most important points in English

Review 4:The castle is amazing and has a very long history. The rebuild to a hotel has been done with a style. Good breakfast!

Review 5:Food was expensive and took a long time to come.

Review 6:The rooms were very comfortable and the grounds were very beautiful!

Review 7:No choice of restaurant menu. High prices.

Review 8:Location, building all great. Even a ghost or two supposed to be there. Staff helpful.

Review 9:Room and bathroom needed a clean. Specific areas of the public rooms needed maintaining.

Review 10:The food and service very good but it is only worth staying for 1 night.

Review 11:directions to location.

Review 12:The castle and its history. The rooms.

Review 13:Worn and stained carpeting in room. Cold eggs and bacon at breakfast buffet. Awful coffee.

Review 14:Location. History. Staff.
