Reviews for Hotel Zum Kanzler

Review 1:The room was a bit dark and basic. Unfortunately the Internet was down when we left which meant we had to find cash which was a little inconvenient.

Review 2:The location was amazing and the staff were great.

Review 3:The hotel also caters for tour groups who arrive for one night. The tour group normally leaves quite early. It appears that the other guests that have chosen to lie in till after 08:00, are presented with the "leftovers". Of the five days that we stayed at the hotel, on the middle three days, there wasn't any cornflakes. When asked, the staff just said that there wasn't any. On other individual mornings, there weren't any boiled eggs, brown rolls, fruit salad, orange juice, cutlery and dishes. Other dishes, were displaying the remains of the offerings for that morning. I think the problem was that the staff were more concerned in clearing the tables and cleaning up after the other guests at breakfast and that no one was monitoring the breakfast table and anticipating the foods that needed replacing before the food ran out. My other observation is that after having paid our bill earlier , there wasn't anybody to give the keys back to, when we had finally cleared our rooms. In the end, after wandering behind the counter in the restaurant and taking a look into the room behind, I left the keys on the counter. I thought it might have been nice to have been able to say "Goodbye" to someone and thank them. Besides these views, I would still recommend this hotel for its value for money and its beautiful location. Though I would request that the hotel sorts out it's breakfast procedure urgently.

Review 4:We stayed at the Hotel Zum Kanzler for five nights in September. The hotel is located in the centre of the extremely pretty and award winning "Historic European Town". We found the hotel both comfortable and welcoming. The rooms were adequate though the beds/mattresses might be very soft for some people. The restaurant was popular and the food served was tasty.

Review 5:Staff did not give us any information about meal times etc. Poor servicein that no-one was ever on show - we had to knock at staff door forattention (to pay bill!) Tried to eat in evening at restaurant, but nostaff appeared so left & went elsewhere. No English translationsavailable & staff could not speak any English. No hair drier in room.

Review 6:Attractive town, room with character, good breakfast

Review 7:Plumbing

Review 8:Pleasant hotel with friendly staff. The plumbing in the two rooms we used could have been better, but we never complained as our stay was relatively short. Food was good. The hotel is ideally situated to explore the small town with it's castle, museum and surrounding countryside.

Review 9:Basic room.

Review 10:Good roads and scenery nearby.

Review 11:Charming hotel in a beautiful small town

Review 12:We booked a double room, but get a family room without beeing asked if we like it or not. Started the cleaning on near by rooms at 7.30
