Reviews for Hotel Deutsches Haus

Review 1:Prices of the hotel restaurant were way too high and not a great deal of choice!

Review 2:lovely hotel with friendly staff . location was amazing in the city centre and 2min walk to xmas markets.

Review 3:To stay in this hotel, occupying one of Dinkelsbuhl's most distinctive, handsome and historically significant buildings, was a privilege. We thoroughly enjoyed our room: very comfortable and appealing. The restaurant makes beautiful use of its historical setting and serves food of high quality.

Review 4:The only thing missing was a minibar and phone in the room.

Review 5:The staff is amazing, helpful and nice. We stayed in a renovated room- bathroom spacious and new. I definitely recommend to eat in the hotel restaurant- great food and beautiful interior. We will definitely stay here again.

Review 6:The Location is outstanding. The rooms are extremely nice w large modern bathrooms. The manager and entire staff provide the best hospitality I've ever seen!

Review 7:Great location on street of patrician houses, across the street from church; both hotel and church built in the 1400's. The room was grand, a step back in time. Great breakfast. Personable host/owner even found us chocolate cake when it was not on the menu. This is now 'our' place whenever we return to Dinkelsbuhl!!!!!

Review 8:Lovely old renovated hotel in a central position in the middle of the old town. Ours was a huge room with separate sitting area with TV and a very large bathroom. An excellent breakfast (hot and cold) was offered.

Review 9:The only complaint I could make is that a couple of members of the breakfast staff were not as conscientious in making sure guests had all they wanted as they could have been - but this is minor.

Review 10:The hotel is one of the most beautiful half-timbered buildings in an exquisitely beautiful town. The location is right in the center, and could not be better. They have a parking system that works very well. The room was beautiful with a quiet balcony, with every detail wanted in place.

Review 11:The staff were not all that well trained. The bathroom facilities in the room were not adequate for what we paid.

Review 12:The ambience and food were great. Perfect location.

Review 13:Difficult to get place @ a good restaurant, when the one in the hotel is closed.

Review 14:The location, the dinner @ hotel restaurant and the heritage of the city and the hotel

Review 15:Great location in the Altstadt. Perfect base to visit Zugspitze and surrounding areas. Superb breakfast. Very comfortable beds. Great traditional Bavarian food in the Biergarten.

Review 16:- very poor Wifi - not many sockets to charge a phone (not really a big issue)

Review 17:- fantastic location right in the heart of Dinkelsbuehl - lovely old building - one of the finest in town - friendly and attentive staff, immediately responded to a request

Review 18:The breakfast was dissapointing for a hotel of this quality. No air conditioning in our room. No shower curtain or screen.

Review 19:Excellent location in the centre of town. Our room at the rear of the hotel was very quiet.

Review 20:Breakfast service was very poor only one staff member for a full hotel very slow buffet not replenished very often and very limited very upsetting for such a beautiful hotel and four stars

Review 21:Fantastic location beautiful place very quaint

Review 22:Dinner was ok, but service could be improved.

Review 23:Historic building with lots of character in heart of town. Very helpful at check in - they let us check in early and gave us a town map.

Review 24:The wifi was not brilliant but this was a very minor issue.

Review 25:The room was beautiful and overlooked the market square. Staff were helpful and the breakfast was delicious.

Review 26:Wifi wouldn't reach our room. Breakfast needed more variety. We baked in our room on the top floor because no a/c and no fan available. We had a baby with us and they put us in a room facing the square so there was noise all night long.

Review 27:Dinner was good. Staff was helpful during checkin and assisted us with our luggage. They parked our car.

Review 28:the bed was incredibly noisy, couldn't move at all without it making a noise. Breakfast service was awful, not the girl's fault, only one person on who also deals with departures as well and collecting cars therefore 20 min wait for coffee.

Review 29:the town and the situation of the hotel. The bedroom was nice and clean.

Review 30:Not happy with: - the breakfast: this was truly and utterly substandard. A very modest buffet with very limited choice, almost NO choice for vegetarians, and food items of rather low quality - similar to what you'd expect in a 1- or 2-star hotel - parking: there are only a couple of free parking spots on the street in front of the hotel, and if you are unlucky there, they offer a garage parking service for 8 EUR (!!!) - WiFi: weak signal everywhere, except for the lobby All in all, not a bad stay, BUT I don't think that a hundred and sixteen EUR per twin room is a good deal at all, given the negative points mentioned above. Could not truly recommend this hotel, although it is alright if nothing better is available.

Review 31:Happy with: - staff: they were all very nice and helpful - charm and decor of the room and medieval well-kept building

Review 32:Although breakfast was included, no offer of eggs was made but I think perhaps you have to make that request as we saw other guests served eggs. The latte was the worst I've ever had, needs more coffee added. The blonde girl looking after the breakfast was unfriendly and never asked if everything was OK, as is usually the way.

Review 33:Wonderful location, courteous help from gentleman at front desk. The house is gorgeous.

Review 34:There is no lift - this didn't really bother us but could be a deal-breaker for some. The staff were happy to let us leave our pram on the ground floor.

Review 35:Had the family room which was very spacious and bathroom was really modern. Good location in the heart of the old city. Hotel provided lots of information/guides about the city.

Review 36:The bed in my room had an end sticking up which made the 2-meter bed slightly small for me. Had to sleep a bit diagonal. Since the hotel was fully booked it was not possible to change room.

Review 37:Very old and traditional house kept in excellent shape. If you are historically interested this is a nice hotel and town to visit. Restaurant has also very high standards with a good wine list with lots of local choices. My room was very space and big which was nice.

Review 38:No English speaking TV

Review 39:A beautiful suite with spa in the bathroom. and right in the middle of town to explore this lovely old town area. Wifi good and excellent restaurant

Review 40:Food in restaurant Michelin star quality reserve table to avoid disappointment stayed here 3 times now and will definetly stay again no negatives for this hotel

Review 41:Turn the heating up in rooms!

Review 42:This was a lovely hotel in a central location but remember anywhere in the city walls is central. The evening a la carte menu was lovely. Rooms were a bit cold....we went in December and this would be my only grips. Bathroom lovely, breakfast good.

Review 43:The only thing we were not happy with was a very soft matrace in the bed - hurted our spines.

Review 44:A spacy and authentic room, in perfect shape while keeping the original charm, including historical doors and bed with a canopy. Large bathroom with a hot tub. Location in the middle of everyhting, yet quiet in the night. Very friendly staff.

Review 45:The hotel is thrilling awesome! To tell the truth, I had never been to such places before. It's phantastic! Not cheap, but worth its money 100%. Old wooden furniture, a huge bed, a jacuzzi bath... It gives a feeling of staying in a castle rather than a hotel for tourists. The house itself is remarkable (a historical building in the town), but when you get inside the room you're blown away. The hotel is a must.

Review 46:My only small criticism was no hot breakfast options and the breakfast buffet area could be made larger to prevent having to queue.

Review 47:Very friendly and helpful staff, made us very welcome. My wife request for a vegetarian evening meal was met with a welcome smile and the result a fantastic evening meal. room very spacious and quiet.

Review 48:We ha specifically asked for two beds in our reservation but we got a double bed. When I did not accept the room I was lectured in a somewhat rude way by a lady in the reception "that is the way it is in Germany". As I been traveling for nearly 10 years all over the country I know that it quite possible to get two beds if you ask for it. This person should not deal with guests.

Review 49:A beautiful building at a very central location with an excellent restaurant. The room was spacious and well equipped, wifi working flawlessly. Most of the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Review 50:Nothing.

Review 51:Opposite to the church and minutes to everywhere. Excellent breakfast and staying there like living in 100 years ago can feel the history. Must join the night watchman tour while the watchman will bring you to different restaurants offering free wine tasting.

Review 52:One solid mattress would make the bed and sleep excellent ....

Review 53:The Location is just great. The staff is very friendly . Delicious meals in the restaurant, good breakfast. We had a suite with a great bathroom with a whirl pool... All worth the money ...

Review 54:We should have stayed longer.

Review 55:Great location. Beautiful ambience. We had a great view of the Main Street and church from our room. . Dinner at the restaurant was amazing. Friendly English speaking staff.

Review 56:The staff, the breakfast, the generously sized room, the large bathroom and closet space were all wonderful but best of all was the central location in town.

Review 57:I have traveled in Germany for over 40 years and would rank Deutsches Haus as one on the best stays I have experienced. Dinkelsbuhl is a great spot to visit - walled historic town, easy to get around and the staff at hotel were exceptional - Barrie

Review 58:There was one negative as we were leaving when we tried to pay our bill. We were being over-charged around 100 Euros. This was not the fault of the personable young lady who attended us at the reception counter. She made a phone call and the mistake was corrected after about 8 minutes. We still don't know how this error occurred.

Review 59:The hotel is ideally situated next to the market square. It is a beautiful old building with modern comforts. Our room was huge with a four-poster bed. The staff were friendly and helpful. As it was raining when we arrived, the large umbrella that the hotel provides for its guests was much appreciated.

Review 60:This is not the fault of the hotel itself, but, we were awoken on a Monday morning from a deep sleep at 6:00 am by around 5 minutes of extremely loud bell ringing from the local church...bring your earplugs!

Review 61:This 600 year old hotel oozes character. Our family room was spacious and the hotel is right in the middle of the altstadt. The beds were comfy and the shower was excellent. Staff were friendly and were more than happy to help without bags and the parking of our car.

Review 62:Excellent location, ancient building very well preserved and maintained, large and comfortable room, great environment. Excellent restaurant with fine foods and wines at reasonable prices.

Review 63:Room 27: Noise from the kitchen early morning and late at night is disturbing if windows are left open. Coffee at breakfast was always cold in spite of asking for hot milk.

Review 64:The location is ideal. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel well removated

Review 65:Breakfast could have had more to choose from....something glutenfree would have been nice

Review 66:In the middle of town, nice restaurant, quiet, clean and good sized room

Review 67:There was a festival the night we were there, so the reader may need to see these comments in that perspective. Our room looked out over an alley where employees of a restaurant chatted and drank a cold one after work - rather loudly - until 1 am. Also the church across the street called the devout to prayer at six the next morning. all in all, despite the fact that the hotel really was lovely, I don't think I would stay there again.

Review 68:This is a lovely hotel. The staff is very professional, the rooms are large and attractive, the bathrooms are modern.

Review 69:The restaurant dinner menu was too fu-fu. Would have liked some additional dinner choices of less pricy traditional bavarian cuisine. Not a big deal though. The dinner meal we did had was excellent in flavour and presentation, served by professional and knowledgable staff.

Review 70:All the staff were professional, friendly and verey helpful. The facility itself, a charm. Perfect location and the history and the building impressive. The room had all the amenities and very comfortable. Breakfast (included) was super!

Review 71:Location

Review 72:Room was a bit dated and perhaps could use some modernization. Very little to do in town.

Review 73:Central location. Large suite.

Review 74:We liked everything about the hotel. Clean and comfortable in a great location. Breakfast was great.

Review 75:Building itself, the restaurant and breakfast, rooms were comfortable. Location was the best one to stay in the town as a tourist.

Review 76:None

Review 77:EVERYTHING!!! Extremely friendly and helpful Hotel even more beautiful inside Wish we could stay another night

Review 78:Perfect location, great staff, even moved my car form street to their parking garage and had car ready for us at check out.

Review 79:Dinner service a bit slow

Review 80:Very Picturesque Village location

Review 81:the bed was not cimfertable

Review 82:breakfast, and car parking

Review 83:Zentrale Lage

Review 84:Poor service in the dining room when we went for dinner.

Review 85:Non-existent wi-fi

Review 86:Very atmospheric and charming hotel in the heart of beautiful Dinkelsbuehl

Review 87:The bed was slightly inclined, perhaps due to its antiquity

Review 88:The location and the hotel itself are eccellent
