Stadthotel Helvetia in Bregenz is a historic building dating back to 1876. The property is a 5-minute walk from the Pfänderbahn cable car and a 2-minute drive from the Bodensee lake. During summer the Bregenzer Festspiele opera performances run in Bregenz for a month and are very popular with visitors.
All rooms at the Stadthotel have a private bathroom, wood furniture, desk and TV. Some units have wood-panel walls and views of the surrounding Alpine landscape. A breakfast buffet is served each morning and is included in the rate.

Review 1：No elevator. Ferry to different places on Lake Constanz stopped in mid-October, unlike information in travel books where final dates are November. But this is not related to hotel

Review 13：The room was not ready for us,set up for two when reservation clearly stated 4 guests. Request for hot water during breakfast was greeted by a scowl even though the employee was not doing anything at the time.

Review 97：The bedroom window had no curtain ! I had to hang items of clothing to try to cut out street lighting. There were problems switching on the main bedroom lights. Just by the bed, a plastic disc loosely covered the wiring from an old light switch. The WC bowl was an unhygenic type that has no place in a hotel in the 21st century. The WC itself measured just 98 cm by 98 cm and contained simply the wc bowl and toilet roll holder. To wash your hands, you have to go to shower room. Sorry, but judging by the room, this is not a 3 start hotel but more like hostel.accommodation. The bedside lamp is simply a cheap little lamp that the guest has to plug in themselves.

Review 98：It has an excellent location being just 7 minutes walk from the train station and just 4/5 mins from the water front. It also has many restautant and pedestrians squares adjacent to it. So it is a great location for exploring the town and eating. The hotel seems to have been redecorated lately and so overall has a bright fresh look to it. I would prefer to be more positive about my room, but I must comment on what I experienced.

It is a familyrun hotel and the family are very friendly, helpful and although thishotel does not have an elevator we were helped with our luggage upstairson arrival and departure. Our second time in Bregenz and would go back again.

Review 122：Our room was facing the street. I learned the first night that the street the hotel is on stays busy with car traffic through the whole night. So, there was a lot of noise being that there is no AC and the windows had to be open to get some fresh air. The check in is not until 1600 and that is very literal. There is no one at the front desk until that time and the doors are locked.

The hotel is centrally located in Bregenz (also a negative) All of the tourist attractions and restaurants in the town are easy to get to by foot. The parking was free and somewhat hidden from the street. I did not notice that many hotels with their own parking facilities while we there. The breakfast was the normal European continental breakfast. The bread was fresh and the coffee was very good!
