Reviews for Hotel-Restaurant Goldenes Lamm
Review 1:The room was very spacious with comfortable beds and very Bavarian decor which of course doesn't take itself too seriously. Wonderful staff and amazing selection for breakfast for only €5 extra. Perfect location in the centre of the old part of Dinkelsbühl with free on site parking and free wifi.
Review 2:Nil
Review 3:We had a very large attractive room with a lounge and a partitioned off area for luggage. the bathroom was large and modern with a lovely deep bath. Breakfast was good; lots of choice
Review 4:Staff really friendly with great English. Had a fabulous dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel as well. It's a shame it wasn't warmer when we were there as the outdoor area upstairs looked lovely.
Review 5:No fridge in room
Review 6:A comfortable hotel, friendly and efficient staff and good breakfast. Very good location. Lovely street view from our bedrom window.
Review 7:Private parking was a bonus.Would have liked to stay longer .Excellent position one minute from the centre of town. Not luxury but a nice homey feeling .Great breakfast room as well as a small outside sitting area .Family were running the hotel - all very nice. There was an iron and an ironing board outside our door ! First time for 4 weeks. Other guests that we met had been there before
Review 8:Efficient, friendly, unobtrusive service. Excellent and plentiful cuisine (Breakfast & Dinner). Perfect location with private on-site parking. Very comfortable, clean and restful accommodation.
Review 9:In the morning for breakfast we had the rudest person(staff) I've ever met in my 6 years in Germany. We were offered a cup of coffee and never were asked if we would like more. She got mad at my husband for not pouring juice right. Then she yelled at me when we were checking out because my credit card asked for a pin number and we never had a pin number for that card and we had it for 12years and used it for the past 6 years in Germany and never once we were asked for it. Anyways, that was not a reason to raise your voice at any customer.
Review 10:We loved the little town. It was beautiful, fairytale like place. Hotel was nice, it was one of them old buildings but very well kept. When we got there in the afternoon we were checked in by an older lady and she was very nice and helpful. Overall we were happy with everything but one person that worked there in the morning.
Review 11:Best family run Hotel we have stayed at in 6 trips to Germany. The food is excellent , each meal was beyond our expectations and the staff very friendly and efficient. Not surprising this lovely gem has been in business for 4 generations. Looking forward to a return visit!
Review 12:Upon our arrival we didn't feel very welcomed and when our room (#6) turned out to have the sewer vapor problems, they staff acted as is it was us that was the problem. We ended up in the top floor room. But as we got settled in the staff became more pleasant and we ended up enjoying out stay.
Review 13:The hotel's location is good, just a short distance from the entrance to the walled city and very close to town center and church. Breakfast was nice but ewe did not eat any other meals there.
Review 14:good location, just located in the old town of Dinkelsbuhl, walking distance to all of the visiting sites. delicious breakfast and helpful receiption.
Review 15:There is no elevator and several sets of narrow stairs to the second floor - just be aware if this is an issue. The hotel, being in the center of a walled city, picks up street noises that echo. The church bells turn off at 10:00 pm and come back on at 6:00 am.
Review 16:Comfortable, modern room with bath; plenty of space with is not always the case in older buildings. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was great for dinner and for the included breakfast.
Review 17:Nothing!
Review 18:My husband and I found the goldenes Lamm to be a very comfortable place to stay. The staff is extremely helpful and went the extra to help me with my geneology search (she got me an email of someone would can assist me). The food was very good, we ate both dinner and breakfast at the hotel and found them both very good.
Review 19:Friendly relaxed atmosphere. Good traditional food in the restaurant. Well located for walking round the town. Would recommend walking tour with the Night Watchman (even though we don't speak German!)
Review 20:The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Provided a map in english for the town. I arrived late, but had called to confirm it was ok. Slept with the window open and the town is very quiet at night.
Review 21:A lovely hotel in a beautiful town. The room was very large and comfortable, the breakfast had a vey large selection of food and the staff were excellent. A very pleasant stay

Review 46:Goldenes Lamm is more than 400 years old. The interior, however, is new and in good condition. Breakfast is fresh and delicious. Tailor-made stir fried egg is superb! Free parking, within the small Middleage old town, which is very very convenience.
Review 47:Nothing
Review 48:The town of Dinkelsbul was stunning and the hotel was right in the middle of town. Easy to find and plenty of parking. The rooms were clean and the staff so welcoming. We had a meal in the hotel in the evening and we would highly recommend it.
Review 49:The hotel is located right in the old city. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant had a lovely garden patio for dinner. The old was great - both for dinner and breakfast.
Review 50:The younger receptionist - too "Deutch" style rigidity. self-important.
Review 51:I liked it. Restaurant staff excellent / especially the chef. Great location, well-organized interiors.
Review 52:There wasn't a safe in our room.
Review 53:Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke English as we speak no German. Room and hotel was very nice and had more of a homely feel unlike other hotels with bare rooms and hallways.
Review 54:The extremely good and friendly welcome from the proprietor, who went out of his way to provide a very early morning breakfast for three people on one of the days stay. Excellent location in an old wall town. Plenty of establised cafes, restaurants etc for the evening sustanance.
Review 55:N/A
Review 56:The location was excellent, right in the walled city, but was very easy to find, the private garage parking at the back of the hotel was very welcome. The owners spoke excellent english & the breakfast was good.
Review 57:Smell of smoke in the halls. Had to pay for poor internet.
Review 58:Very spacious and comfortable triple room. Good breakfast, friendly staff. Good price and gret location.
Review 59:It's not their fault, the restaurant was closed - not many customersjust before Christmas. I wasn't feeling well and didn't really want tohave to go out into the cold to find dinner. The room was clean, but thesheets on the bed were awful, like a terry material. I think they aresupposed to be warm in winter, but it was like sleeping on a rough bathtowel. The cover on the duvet looked slightly grubby. At breakfast, no-one was there to offer me coffee, there were things laid out, such as afrying pan for eggs etc - but was I supposed to do this myself? In thenend, nothing appealed and I just paid my bill and went to a cafe enroute to the train.
Review 60:The location was central in a small and beautiful walled town. The hotelis in an old building and quite charming.
Review 61:Small room although confortable , no lift and warm without conditioned air.
Review 62:Great location , cosy and clean room , amazing furnitures. Well equipped restroom , friendly people evrywhere ! Very good value for your money.
Review 63:The quality of this hotel is excellent. It is a family run hotel. The daughters husband is the chef and the food was terrific. The hotel is within the walls of the old city and everything is within walking distance. Free parking behind the hotel. The only negative would be that they charge you for wi-fi.
Review 64:The "staff".... They were accomendating... I did not get the warm andfuzzies at all...
Review 65:Cute, for sure very cute.... The walls were solid, I did have to keeptelling the kids to be quite every second. (Which for germany seemed tobe a running theme)
Review 66:Goldenes Lamm is a quaint German hotel with attentive staff, good food, and is ideally located in the medieval city of Dinkelsbuel - a historicgem. There are wonderful shops, walking trails, and amazing sites to seein this walled city and the hotel is a welcoming, relaxing venue after aday of wandering the cobblestones.
Review 67:Just two details: no minibar (so no refrigerator and travelling with children, it might be useful but we were proposed to use the refrigerator in the kitchen) and carpets in the room not very clean (there is a beautiful parquet, no carpets necessary).
Review 68:Great location. Large room. Very good restaurant (breakfast buffet very rich). Free parking always available.
Review 69:No criticisms at all.
Review 70:Our triple room was large with a 3 peice suite and lovely bathroom. It was excellent value for money and the breakfast was lovely.
Review 71:A good hotel when visiting the area or when just passing through. Not far from the motorway and relaxing after driving. Very central with a homely feeling and a plus with hotel car park. Can recommend Dinkelsbuhl and the Goldenes Lamm.
Review 72:What a lovely hotel. We arrived by motorbike and were shown where topark in the hotel's ample car park at the back. The room we had washuge, there's a really nice terrace at the back to enjoy the sunshine. We ate in the hotel restaurant which was good but breakfast was superb -a huge choice and lovely little touches like knitted hats on the boiledeggs. Staff really helpful and friendly too. A most welcome touch ofluxury on a motorbike tour round Germany.
Review 73:We particularly liked the hotel because of it's situation and friendliness of staff who were more than hepful. We also appreciated the fact that there was somewhere secure to leave our motor cycles. We will definately stay at Goldenes Lamm again and certainly recommend to people. Although we were only passing through, we would stay longer next time we do a trip. Thank you. Kind regards David Cole
Review 74:Three things were bothering us. For one, the room was on the top floorin the attic of a very old building next to the main building, anddifficult to get to via a narrow and difficult stairway. Secondly, theroom was very small and cramped because within the room were the ancientframing timbers of the old building, and there was no place to put downthe suitcases except on the bed, and it felt like a small cell. Finally,it was very noisy there. At night we had to keep the windows openbecause it was too hot without the air conditioning. Apart from the roadnoise, there were very inconsiderate neighbors. One night there were twomen on the front steps of the building across the street, smoking andplaying loud music at 2 am. And there was noise from the outdoor serviceof a bar around the corner until 3 am. And the giant church bellspromptly started ringing at 6 am. We were there for only 2 nights, andwe got 3 and 4 hours of sleep respectively. Would not stay there everagain unless I could get a room on the back side of the hotel - butthose apparently are reserved for repeat customers, which we were notlikely to be.
Review 75:Location close to the center of town, good service, nice people
Review 76:Parking lot is rather tight for someone with a large vehicle but I suppose a place to parke elsewhere can be easily found.
Review 77:Hotel situated near the city center. We had a room on the top floor with view over the street. Very quiet area at night time. Clean room with excellent wifi connection (fee). Quality of food at the restaurant is excellent. Good breakfast. Personnal spoke excellent English. Very nice little town where lots of people come to do some cycling. Would definitely come back.
