Review 1：There is nothing to dislike about the hotel and its excellent staff.

Review 3：Room was amazing with direct view to the river Danube. Wellness department is the best I have ever been to, although there was some confusion about the timing. It was booked for a private use from 6pm on and unfortunately it is not possible to learn about the fact it is not available when the booking is made. But the staff was very helpful and they manage to find a free slot before. It was good, because one of our main reason to choose this hotel was the Sauna.

Review 4：Twin beds in the room. Our booking did not indicate that we would have two twin beds instead of a double.

Review 5：I loved the location. The decor in the rooms and common areas was beautiful. Breakfast was delicious and had great variety.

Review 6：In the middle of the old town. Great starting point to stroll through the city. The cruise ships are very close - looks like a great place to stay before/after a cruise. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There is a tea and cookie hour in the afternoon. If you like beer and people there is the "Kreuzweis" bar and the "Ratskeller" brewery just there. Very nice/clean room. I'll be back!

Review 7：In typical German/Austrian fashion a twin bed request actually turns out to be a double bed with two separate duvets.

Review 8：Very helpful staff. We arrived early and were shown to the library for tea and cake while our room was made ready. Location is great for the old town. Very good breakfast.

Review 10：I had a deluxe room. I stay in a lot of hotels for my work, but this was superb. I appreciate the local information supplied by staff on the reception

Review 11：I had to extend my staying for one night, did it online late evening, and I was awakened the day after by an inconvenient call at 8.00am from the reception saying "please, don't forget you have to change to another room". When I asked the same lady who woke me up for a late check out, no way. It's 10 euros per hour, no smiling face, straight to the point. Quite unpleasant, but what can you expect in a country where you must pay even to use a toilet?

Review 14：This is an excellent hotel in an excellent position for car access, town access and bus connections. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms are large, very generously outfitted and the beds are most comfortable. Breakfast is extensive and varied. There are comfortable public spaces for reading or relaxing. Passau is an interesting and pretty town with plenty for everyone. There is a modern shopping centre at the other end of town if needed.

Review 15：Lovely hotel right on the river front in the centre of Passau. Recently refurbished with smart, modern rooms. Very comfortable. Very friendly staff, including Clara the dog who lies in her basket behind reception. Breakfast buffet was amazing - loads of choice and great quality - just wish we had stayed longer so we could sample everything!

Review 17：Fantastic furnishings of the highest quality. Very comfortable. Terrace (room 404) was large, attractive and had a great view. Location was great - right on the water and two blocks from the old city. Staff could not have been nicer.

Review 24：Some rooms have air conditioning at a higher room rate and others do not. That was a problem for some in our group but we did not mind our room without A/C.

Review 27：Beds looked like a double from the photograph. When we arrived it was twin beds!!!!! As it was our 30th wedding anniversary we wanted a double(also allowing for German twin beds). They had no other double rooms available.

Review 28：Comfortable and clean room with air conditiioning. Nice breakfast with a lot of choice and fresh products. Closed garage near the hotel for parking and hotel is within walking distance of town centre and boat trips.

Review 30：The staff was very friendly and willing to help. The room was great, with air conditioning (which you would find extremely useful in the summer when you have burning hell outside) and quite convenient lighting. The hotel is situated in the central part of the town, in 5 minutes walk from St.Stephen's cathedral, but the place is relatively calm and quiet. Myself, I had a nice view of the Danube river with the fortress on the other side from the window of my room.

Old town and new town were just a short walk away. We highly recommend this lovely small hotel if you are staying in Passau.

We particularly liked the quirky and welcoming little items, like the bedtime stories and the rubber duck in the bathroom. We also enjoyed the light hearted humour of our hosts, a bit like visiting the family.

Review 40：The noise level was quite high because a lot of tour groups walk in the tiny cobbled street right below my window (3rd floor). At night, a lot of rowdy drunks were hanging out in that same alley. No air conditioning so I could hear everything!

Review 50：Location on the riverfront in the old town is within easy walking distance of all major sights in the beautiful town of Passau. Room was large, clean and nicely decorated, great bathroom, breakfast was exceptional both in variety and quality. The hotel was very quiet even though we were on the third floor facing the street. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The hotel has no restaurant but there are many restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance. Our room had a great view of the river and the castle on the hill across the river. A little far from the bahnhof to walk with luggage.

Review 51：Great Location! Just a few steps away from the Passau town hall on the Donau/Danube river. Easy walk to town center & St. Stevens church. We had a quiet room on the back of the hotel away from Fritz-Schaffer-Promenade.

Review 52：Location couldn't be better in Passau, which can be challenging to drive around and park. Staff were great and we appreciated the cozy lounge. Breakfast was very good.

Review 53：This is a perfect hotel to make your stay in Passau even a greater pleasure! The hotel is very elegant but comfortable at the same time! Close to the Danube, it is easy to be accessed from the railway station, and also very closed to the nice museums of Passau. The Glass museum, one of the nicest in the world is just around the corner! Also, if you want to experience some Indian food among the delicious German specialities, you might like to book dinner or lunch at Chandni, also almost around the corner! Should we come back to Passau, we will take the same hotel! And not to forget ... take enough time to enjoy the delicious breakfast offered by the hotel and finish the coffee in the nice salon of the hotel!!! Thank you for making our (short) stay a real pleasure!

Review 54：We only spent one night here, but the location was perfect for walking to centre of the old town. As it was Christmas time the hotel was decorated for the holidays and had lots of spaces to sit when not in the room. The afternoon tea and cookies were a nice treat. Breakfast was varied and filling for our adult sons. It was also pretty along the river bank.

Review 60：Would never know there had been TWENTY FEET of water above Reception floor lever, wrecking First Floor as well. This hotel must be very popular in busy seasons, but I never visit any hotel then. There is a fine sitting area with many books, drinks on request, great attention to detail throughout, breakfast really first class and the quiet rooms at the back are attractive and comfortable. Good plain restaurant from 1800 daily two minutes up the hill to rear. Far better value than the waterfront neighbours. I very much hope I can get there again.

We arrived unexpectedly early (7am!) and staff arranged coffee for us immediately, while they went out of their way to make our room available extra early without us requesting it - a welcome surprise and huge relief! Beautiful hotel and great location - breakfast buffet is also amazing. Will be back.

Review 62：Frankly speaking, I liked everything of this little nice hotel. The onlybad experience I had was with the front desk lady (with pure yellow/ golden hair) who once showed rude manner to me during my stay.

Review 63：I liked the location of the hotel, particularly the River Donau viewfrom my room because I was staying in a river-view room. The front deskstaffs in general were very helpful and had very good manner to hotelguests (except one staff whose manner to me was not so good). Thebreakfast was provided with an inexpensive cost (only 7 Euros perperson), and it was good breakfast and also good value for money.

Bike storage in locked room at the back of the hotel.
