Review 1：Bedside lights would have been nice since the rear facing room was dark. No lift but only a short and shallow staircase to room. However with regards to the on site restaurant the curse of "ruhetag", (i.e. closed), struck on Monday and Tuesday. We stayed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The only place we found to eat on Monday and Tuesday nights was a pizzeria 3km down the road in Clausthal. Or you could picnic in your room.
Review 2：Nice quiet location out in the countryside with on site parking. In simple terms a very nice B & B with excellent restaurant on site across garden where not fine dining but food was very substantial and very tasty. Room was rear facing with a balcony, facing trees, and was quiet, clean and comfortable. Charming host. Wifi and tv excellent. Nice facility whereby you could help yourself to beer, wine or soft drinks from fridge in breakfast room and pay when leaving. And not expensive. Nice breakfast served in charming room with personal service by proprietor.
Review 3：Nothing really. It is all non smoking but the entrance was a bit smoky from where people smoke just outside.
Review 4：Surprisingly quiet at the back considering the location just off the main road. Spotlessly clean including good shower room. Heating efficient. Great breakfast. Friendly and welcoming host. Good little restaurant just next door.
Review 5：Small quibble and not the Gasthof's fault - it was finding the place! It's south of Clausthal-Zellerfeld. Easy when you know.
Review 6：Michael was a wonderful host, very friendly and helpful, he also speaks English and very kindly did our washing (something that poses the most problems on our travels through Germany). Also, top tip: the 1961 Steakhouse in town was excellent for food. The area is super for walking too (why we chose it).
Review 7：Sehr schöne und ruhige Umgebung. Ein kleines Restaurant direkt beim Gästehaus mit leckerem und riesigem Schnitzel. Der Gastgeber ist sehr freundlich und gibt auch gerne Empfehlungen für die Tagesplanung. Die Zimmer sind sauber und groß. Das Badezimmer bietet ebenfalls sauber und bietet sehr viel Platz.

Review 9：I enjoyed my stay and was impressed by the large, very clean rooms at this guest house. I had my own patio which was great for taking my dog outside directly from the room. There is a beautiful little lake right behind the house and the walking trails are beautiful. I liked that the restaurant next door serves food continuously from open to close...no 2pm closure. The breakfast was very good. I would 100% recommend this guest house.

Review 12：The attention to detail. All the small comforts had been thought of, a table in the bathroom, a kettle in the room for making tea or coffee, chocolates on the pillows. The breakfast was very good. The restaurant next door was also extremely good value for money.

Review 15：The only thing we could find fault with was the fact that common to many smaller German and Austrian Gasthofs is that they take a rest day, or two in this case. This means that the restaurant and bar are not open for two evenings, Monday & Tuesday. However this was no great inconvenience as there are good places to eat in the town 2 kms away
Review 16：The staff were great always cheerful and couldn't do enough for you. The breakfast were excellent and the restaurant, which is separate from the gastehaus served great German food and plenty of it, reserving a table is advisable as it is very popular with the locals. The location was great as we had our dog with us and you can walk straight from the hotel into woods and meadows. Definitely going again!!
