Reviews for Sun Palace Albir & Spa
Review 1:Curtain rail broken, mini fridge didnt work, noisey, dining room aweful, had 1 night there, no sleep, 1 evening meal, where I was charged 2euro for a glass of water, then was charged 3 nights fee to leave, advertised sat tv, but was all spanish.
Review 2:I bit up a hill but worth it . Mushrooms cold and tined in a morning plus big whole toms!!!! Would prefer sliced or quatered but on the whole was very good
Review 3:The hotel was spotless loved it .rooms excellent bed was to die for
Review 4:Wedding one evening went into the early hours keeping me and my daughter awake, ruining the whole of the next day, and the food was terrible !!!!!'
Review 5:The staff
Review 6:The hotel and room was clean and comfortable. Fantastic views of the coast and inland. Excellent breakfast buffet with plenty of choice. Slightly limited on the hot choice for evening meal but excellent salad bar.
Review 7:Attention to details is needed. For instance, the curtains were hanging off the rails in places and the toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall in the bathroom. Small things but they take away from the 4 star feel. Also the balcony doors of both our rooms didn't lock properly. The overall breakfast buffet was disappointing with very poor quality cereal and undercooked bacon.
Review 8:The Sun Place is an impressive looking hotel with a nice pool and sunbathing area. The room was of a decent size as was the bathroom. A very nice atmosphere and the staff were pleasant.
Review 9:Although not near the beach, the views from the hotel where good and parking near to the hotel was no problem. My room was one of the basic ones as it had no balcony, but it had a large window and was a good size.
Review 10:The only thing is the beds are firm but that is a matter of taste.
Review 11:This hotel is excellent. All the facilities you may need, nicely done and great staff. All reception very helpful.
Review 12:There were a few broken sun beds . We moved these only to find these back in place for normal use the next day. 15 minute walk up a steep hill to get to the hotel. Hotel staff didnt appear to like the british , the hotel was full of spanish people majority senior citizens which wasnt a problem afterall it is their country . Made our stay feel quite authentic, however ' the staff prioritised the spanish people and were not friendly.
Review 13:View across playa albir and quietness in our room and balcony
Review 14:Bed was a bit 'lumpy' and no spare pillows were available even though we approached housekeeping staff for extra pillow.
Review 15:Location was very good, we asked for a quiet room on the upper floor and this is what we were allocated, so no complaints. Although we were on breakfast only we decided to take our evening meal in the restaurant where we had excellent food and very friendly competent service by the restaurant staff.
Review 16:A few items of food on the buffet were cold but this could be rectified by using the microwave.
Review 17:Very enjoyable stay. Panoramic views from 4th floor were fantastic. Extremely comfortable bed - didn't wake all night! Great range of foods offered at buffet dinner and buffet breakfast. Would definitely stay there again and would recommend to others.
Review 18:apart from the only waitress ,the waiters were very unfriendly as was half the staff at reception.food was typical bland spanish,no sauces and dry and sometimes cold.
Review 19:very good gym
Review 20:The Dinner Menu was not good, not much choice and not very appetising. I only ate the Salad. The puddings, too sweet, but OK for children. I will book again on B&B Basis only and eat out, so many restaurants to choose from in Albir, within walking distance, uphill climb coming back though.
Review 21:Easy Parking in front of Hotel. Made very welcome, staff helpful and friendly. Room perfect and clean with a lovely view from balcony of the mountains and sea. I went for 2 nights to join my family already staying at Hotel. Excellent for children, lots of entertainment for them, a Musician, singers, Karaoke amongst other things going on. Be prepared for Tony asking if you would help him, ended up having to do some funny dances with other Helper´s!! But good fun. Breakfast good choice. Albir has lots of lovely restaurants and pebble beach. I tried to book extra 2 nights, but fully booked.
Review 22:Nothing. The location up the hill could put some people off, as it's a 10 minute walk from the centre. However, it is located in a quiet residential area which means you can have a good nights sleep. Worth the inconvenience of the walk in our opinion.
Review 23:Spotlessly clean, friendly hotel. We would definitely stay here again as it had everything we needed. We stayed B&B and found it excellent value for money. All breakfast tastes are catered for. Most guest were Spanish with a few English. A very friendly atmosphere all round. Thank you Sun Palace Albir for a wonderful holiday
Review 24:We would recommend this hotel to others, we had a lovely stay, it was very clean and the huge double bed very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast choices were very good and catered for everyone.
Review 25:The bar was drab and restaurant was very noisy with a lot of rude people
Review 26:The rooms were very clean and comfortable
Review 27:A couple if machines in the gym not working, evening meal a bit disappointing.
Review 28:Clean comfortable room, sunny roof terrace, helpful staff.
Review 29:Everning meal
Review 30:Location
Review 31:Not a 4star hotel .had to go to lobby for wi fi
Review 32:Excellent value for money. Easy booking and checking out. Good facilities, nice comfy places to chill out. Great atmosphere. Good checking out times.
Review 33:Breakfast Excellent Wifi Clean
Review 34:up a hill
Review 35:location
Review 36:the breakfast
Review 37:The staff is very kind, the view
Review 38:Very helpful and friendly staff. Bedrooms large enough and comfortable.
Review 39:the bed was not a bed but a plank!!!!! the swimmingpool restrictions were terrible!!!!
Review 40:the people who work there
Review 41:the bed very hard
Review 42:the hotel
Review 43:The beds were too hard
Review 44:Excellent facilties (heated pool, nice outdoor and indoor areas for relaxing). Good food (breakfast and dinner buffet)
Review 45:. Bar area dull. No evening entertainment
Review 46:The walk up the hill!
Review 47:Excellent value for money. Great outdoor areas and free wifi that actually worked anywhere in the hotel
Review 48:good hotel, good facilities and really nice staff. Only stayed for one night, but the food was excellent and it looked the sort of place I might take the family back to.
Review 49:Did not sell non alcholic beer, only sin and that is 1%. As a liver transplant patient I cannot drink alcohol .I found this dissapointing for a 4 star hotel
Review 50:Asked for a double bed- one was not available, not I would suggest a suitable hotel for young couples. Bedroom was shabby and very dated. Thankfully we had only breakfast there as the food was terrible! Tinned mushrooms fatty bacon and the sausages???!!!! If they had less selection but quality homemade surely it would be cheaper for them and less waste!!!
Review 51:The reception has been refurbished. Don t expect the bedrooms to be the same!
Review 52:The steep hill, though did not worry me or my 82 year old Mother, could be a problem for some people.
Review 53:Nothing too much trouble from staff. Beautiful view from roof terrace. Lovely pool area. Loved this hotel land would defiantly return in future and recommend to friends
Review 54:Luke warm cooked breakfast. Stained bed sheet. I asked for a queitroom near the top if the hotel and they gave me a noisy room nextto reception
Review 55:Amazing value at 45 euros ! Nice reception area and spa
Review 56:I was on half board. Main meal had good choice. As regards breakfast, jam was poor quality (though they had Hero make for diabetics). Hot drinks machine coffee disappointing - again taking into account this is a 4 star hotel.
Review 57:Quiet and peaceful.
Review 58:The location half way a serious mountain. In spite of the hourly shuttleto the beach. I am a heart patient and managed only because I had a car.Must be heavy on families with small children.
Review 59:It was very quiet at nights; Reception was very friendly and helpful. The garage was almost empty which may have to do with the 9 Euro a day.For me it was a pleasant solution going in and out several times a day.
Review 60:Noise from every evenings entertainment, noise from ice hockey game located near our room.requested quite room on booking but was put on the same floor as the bar.shower very poor towells frayed.room view was my car parked outside on roadside along with many others at eye level so no view.been in better 2 star hotels travel monthly and 1st time iv ever left negative comments.
Review 61:Free parking outside the hotel
Review 62:Little too loud in the buffet restaurant and the food could have been better.
Review 63:Great having 2 separate rooms with a door between them which could be opened. Activities for children + good swimming pool. At midnight everything got quite as we were told.
Review 64:Some very drunken, very noisy, small-hours yelling and shouting by a party of younger guests - both around the pool (our room looked over the pool) and up and down the corridors. We saw no hotel staff even attempting to calm them down. We were all young once, and we too were of course quite noisy - but not in such a public place as this, nor at 3 a.m.
Review 65:Its proximity to lovely beaches, and to all sorts of nice little shops and restaurants. And the hotel has an excellent swimming pool.
Review 66:The hours for the Spa was to short and we was not allowed to use the towels from the room, but had to rent from the Spa, the same with shoes. The madrass was to hard.
Review 67:All the places you could sit and have a cup of coffee og something
Review 68:See above
Review 69:Quiter position than Benidorm.however next time we will ask for a room further away from the evening entertainment.......we needed an early night but the had to wait until the singers stopped ar midnight!!
Review 70:Big and not very personal hotel, curtains in our room were broke, location is not very central, far from town and the beach.Spa-facilities rather expensive
Review 71:Good price, breakfast-buffet with a lot of choice
Review 72:very quiet at night time but out of season and only a short stroll into the town
Review 73:value for money location to benidorm plenty of choice at breakfast time
Review 74:Everything, the noise, the parties going on, the police being vcalled die to drug taking in room underneath !!
Review 75:Nothing ! Apart from the night porter telling me I did not need to pay the bill !
Review 76:Too noisy at night for children. The Spannish geared entertainment blazes through hotel which could easily be resolved by shutting a few internal & external doors. Kids had a big skin reaction to the body gel/shampoo supplied. No tea or coffee facility in the room. Wear holes in one of the bed sheets (changed immediately on request). Panoramic Restaurant only open on Saturday & must be pre-booked. Do not dive in the pool after August.........bbbbrrrrrrrrr!
Review 77:Staff willingness to help when they can. Hotel, grounds & pool cleanliness. Free WiFi. Room, bar, Spa & buffet prices. Access to rooms from carpark. View from the panoramic plaza. The surroundings.
Review 78:The key word is noise. Very noisy evenings- until midnight from the bar. Impossibel to sleep. Sound of fan going all night. Many buses idel running for a long time outside our room, waiting for passengers. Very much noise from peopel talking at breakfast.
Review 79:It was in a lovely location set on the hill with a stunning view overthe resort. It felt luxurious as well as family friendly and it wasgreat to share the pool with so many Spanish families on holiday. Therooms were clean and spacious. We liked the discreet way that they hadquiet siesta time at the pool and in the evening all the lights wentdown and the hotel went quiet at midnight. We had a lovely romanticbreak here. So many wonderful places to eat within 5 mins walk. We wouldgo back again.
Review 80:Nice and quiet location with a beautiful view. Nice relaxing bar and pool area outsude and excellent spa and inside pool and gym. Nice and helpful staff. Perfect parking inside. The room was very comfortable and clean. Simple however good Spanish breakfast included. Did not eat at the restaurant as we had dinner in Altea. We will go back to this hotell for sure.
Review 81:We stayed one night to attend a wedding reception held on the roofterrace. On arrival the receptionist gave us the wrong directions to theterrace from our room, which we could have reached by taking the lift atthe end of the corridor. Our room was not soundproofed and not only waslive music clearly heard till midnight but we were also woken before 8A.M.by the sound of a nearby workman hammering/chiselling. Signage forthe restaurant was virtually non-existant and on leaving the lift on therestaurant floor, there was no signage at all; we had to follow thesound of voices to find it. We had been told by the receptionist theprevious evening to present our booking card on arrival at therestaurant, and we duly waited at the restaurant reception desk asinstructed, to be shown to a table. No member of staff attended to usand eventually, when other guests arrived and simply walked in andseated themselves, we decided to do the same. At no point were weattended by a member of staff. The coffee was undrinkable and the orangejuice artificial and sludgy. The choice of food was acceptable but notattractively presented. When it came to paying, the card machine failedto work and after quite a wait, we decided to pay by cash. For an hotelcharging 104 euros a night, we consider that we have been ripped off, particularly when other hotels in the same town charge half that for avastly better quality of experience and service. We shall not be stayingthere again or recommending it to our relatives and friends.
Review 82:Parking was easy and the bedroom and bathroom were clean and quitecomfortable.
Review 83:It was the first time I stayed in any 4 star hotel that the used towelswere not taken away. We decided to avail of the room service forbreakfast on the Sunday morning at an extra cost and it was the mostdreadful breakfast we have ever had. There were 4 slices of hard breadand 2 half filled cups of cold sweet coffee so it is adviseable not tohave this extra. The cleaners did not make up our room or change thetowels as we were having breakfast and they did not return later, theystarted very early in the mornings and slamed every door as they wentalong. The breakfas the next morning in the dining area was onlyfractionally better than the room service one provided
Review 84:The hotel was situated in a lovely quiet area and even though it was upa hill it was an acceptable walk away from the town. It was bright andspacious with lovely views of the bay.
Review 85:Breakfast served in the room for 5 of the 6 days was always differentfrom what we marked on the menu.hot breakfast items were luke warmhotel was not advertised as mainly for spanish people all entertainmentwas in spanish
Review 86:Comfortable suite allocated after being given a small twin room
Review 87:Late dinner and not a lot of choice. Will just do b&q next time
Review 88:The whole hotel
Review 89:Food mostly cold,
Review 90:Cleanliness, views,pool area.

Review 92:Reception staff were excellent
