Reviews for Leonardo Hotel München City Center

Review 1:The lift is really slow. The breakfast was very expensive at 14 Euro noting the competition in the area it makes no sense to pay that much. Importantly for any future guest; my room was on the 4th floor room 414. Directly opposite the hotel are three hostels and the preferred smoking location for the guests from all three hostels is on the street opposite the hotel at all hours of the day. Even though I was on the 4th floor the noise was terrible and quite annoying. When you book, request that your room does not face the street. Another solution is to pack earplugs but seriously should you have to do that on a holiday?

Review 2:Location was good and very close to the main train station.

Review 3:Cramped in room to walk around end of bed, but not a big issue.

Review 4:Location was excellent, so close to train station. Walk everywhere. Fantastic coffee at Italian at end of street. Staff really helpful offering advice on places to go. Tea and coffee in room, jugs of water infused with fresh lime at reception. Comfy bed and great hot shower. Good wifi. Great for a short stay.

Review 5:Area is a bit grubby and wouldn't feel safe walking back to the hotel on my own at night. There was rubbish on out balcony which was also a bit off putting.

Review 6:Close to public transport link and had underground parking. In the room there was a hair-dryer, safe, fridge and kettle. Friendly and accommodating staff that allowed us to check in earlier. Definitely worth the cheap rates!

Review 7:No room service and restaurant closed after breakfast. No family rooms. Expensive over New Year

Review 8:Nice hotel, close to Munich HBF train station. Good breakfast at low price and helpful staff. Many other hotels in the area.

Review 9:The room given was at the attic and it's a little bit small.

Review 10:The location is near the main train station, most of the attractions are within reach. We like the cleanliness and smell of the room and it's refreshing.

Review 11:The neighborhood is certainly convenient for using public transport, but very near the train station and not the best crowd hangs out around there and we had our window facing the street which was quite loud at night, many hostels across the street!

Review 12:Very comfortable, beds were nice and nice clean bathrooms

Review 13:The hotel was clean but the neighborhood (around the train station) wasn't, though no fault of the hotel. The shower cubicle seemed to have been renovated, but couldn't help flooding the bathroom and beyond.

Review 14:The room was very clean and quiet. The location was good for somebody travelling by train because the hotel was very close to the main train station.

Review 15:Very noisy at night due to close location of youth hostel.

Review 16:Blackfellow serving breakfast was especially good. Reception desk very helpful too but didn't like seeing them having a cigarette in the entryway.

Review 17:Very accessible, near railway station Close to Centre of City - great location Clean and Tidy rooms - good size Fantastic Staff - really pleasant and friendly..

Review 18:Staff as great from the front desk to the chamber maids. The facility was well maintained. Great beds, linen, towels, coffee making. The room had two chairs, a desk, counter top, refrigerator and plenty of space to hang clothes, shelves for smalls and things. The shower was hot, relieable and easy to operate. Lovely breakfast, wide variety of hot and cold foods.

Review 19:The surrounding of the hotel. (Ie) full of immigrants and homless people makes you feel uncomfortable walking at night. Secondly for the price we paid for one night i expected to have breakfast included. And thirdly being a guest in the hotel i never imagined that i also need to pay for the parking

Review 20:Room with bathroom with everthing you need. Comfortable bed and the fact that the hotel is literally few meters away from the town centre.

Review 21:- Very expensive bar - Lots of awkward-looking people just standing about outside in the street all day. Can be quite intimidating at night.

Review 22:- Great value for what we paid for - Great Wifi - Close to the main railway station

Review 23:Would like a fitted bath.. Although shower and washing facilities were great

Review 24:Wad very clean, and friendly staff.Fridge full of drinks if required and excellent location for City centre.Nice to have a valuables safe if required

Review 25:The carpets on the corridors outside the rooms are getting tied and need cleaning / a refresh The cleanliness in the rooms was spot on. The Hot choice at breakfast was a bit poor re variation & choice and had dried up in the metal storage containers.

Review 26:This is my 4th stay Had lots of Arsenal Fans staying there on my recommendation The staff as usual were excellent especially Sarah at the Front of House.

Review 27:The street is very busy with several hotels around it. Very difficult to temporarily park your car to unload and load. Can be noisy on a Saurday night.

Review 28:The hotel was very good. The breakfasts were great and staff very helpful.

Review 29:Too expensive for its current condition Elevators the size of a coffin Old and dated hotel Bad location Boring breakfast everyday Omlettes we made like pizza & displayed..never seen it before in my life.

Review 30:The staff

Review 31:Small room and cost high due to Oktoberfest but expected.

Review 32:Cleaners did an amazing job with the room after a big night at Oktoberfest. Breakfast was good value.

Review 33:The neighborhood was a little sketchy and noisy.

Review 34:The hotel and facilities were nice and the staff was really helpful. Being close to the train station was handy.

Review 35:Luggage room is not safe at all. Only one elevator for all guest.

Review 36:Location is convenience although it does not the save ates to stay. Room and facilities are good except for elevator which is very slow.

Review 37:Guests who made no effort to come and go quietly during the night. Seeing a guest with their feet on the coffee table in the lobby and his parents obviously thinking that was OK.

Review 38:Close to main station in Munich and very helpful staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable with a good shower and bed.

Review 39:Area outside was a little grungy and parts of the hotel were a little run down. Also, the bathroom was nice but the door doesn't really close all the way so sharing the room was a little awkward.

Review 40:Close to train station. AC was good. Wifi worked well. Reception was friendly.

Review 41:The Air Conditioning had trouble keeping the room cool, and the shower door wouldn't seal correctly, which resulted in a lot of water in the bathroom floor. Also our room smelled of smoke despite being non smoking, but it didn't bother either of us enough to complain and change rooms.

Review 42:The location by the train station is great. It's very easy to get around the city from there. The beds were quite comfortable.

Review 43:one of the staff wasnt freindly at all (he was a man) the hold on my credit card was too much (the same amount of my full stay) even that i paid cash for the full stay when i checked in ! alot of noise from the street and other rooms very very very small room the hotel is good overall but also its over priced

Review 44:great location modern rooms comfortable bathroom very good air condition

Review 45:Not really the hotel's fault, but the area around the train station is a bit gritty. It put my 12 year old son off a bit

Review 46:This hotel is so well located. Just 3 minutes from the main station in Munich. About a 15 minute walk to Marienplatz. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

Review 47:One mature lady was not enough for a big areas, she cannot fixed well and not in organized. She leave a blanket case sheet to replace have replace to our blanket. I think this is my first time I experienced. Because we don't used much the toiletties, she doesn't leave anything, The coffee we need to asking again to supply us. Normal that would be for everyday.

Review 48:The staffs are all friendly and in the restaurant as well. They are willing to help. Free Wi-fi was really great. The safety box was so safe and the room as well.

Review 49:Nothing about the hotel. The street where it is located is nothing to write home about but still very safe.

Review 50:The hotel is very central, near the Munich Central Station. Friendly staff, cleanliness, quiet room, comfortable bed, use of wi-fi, tea/coffee facilities in room, a/c, safe were the main positives.

Review 51:Some construction is going on around the building, so the noise level is high in the morning.

Review 52:Amazing location, literally across the street from the HB, and a ten minute walk to the main squares and old town. Very clean and modern (our room was exactly as in the photo). Breakfast has amazing variety, everything is fresh, and a cozy dining room. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Review 53:The area is seedy due to vicinity to train station. Loud due to a youth hotel across the street. We arrived a day earlier than planned, inquired if there was a room for that night, the receptionist said no and told us to go out to look for a room, the second receptionist on duty phoned, by her own decision and having seen our booking as of next day, another hotel of same chain and got us a room. Needless to say, we spoke to management.

Review 54:Very nice place o stay.

Review 55:The immediate area around the hotel was rather grubby and noisy. The lobby of the hotel is very small and not terribly inviting.

Review 56:The staff were excellent--very friendly and helpful. It was well located with respect to accessibility to transit and various tourist facilities. Within walking distance of shopping and places of interest.

Review 57:- A bit noisy room on the street side - Breakfast expensive to what was available - No free wifi in room, only on lobby

Review 58:- Good location close to Hauptbahnhof - Clean

Review 59:Stayed at Le Meridien for 4 nights and later travelled to Ibiza, When back i booked this hotel. If you need water you need to go down to buy from the hotel, they don't give it for free. No Free towels, been charged for extra. At this price you can get a better hotel, i had no option. As my trip was last minute planned back to munich.

Review 60:Only the location is good.

Review 61:i didint like staff ,wehave told them to take payment from credit card since 28 may,but they insist to take the payment after departure of the clients.in the last moment of the checkout ,a tecnic problem happended with the bank and they didnt allowe clients to go.i told them several times please take please take the payment from card dont leave it for the last minute and they didnt heard me.clients was terrified cause they had made payment at our office.and a serios hotel doesnt remind to take payment at 11 pm but during the day.ihave had a very bad experience, and for their fault i lost my clients

Review 62:like only hotel

Review 63:The air-conditioner was not functioning throughout our stay. We had to keep the windows open.

Review 64:Excellent location, great proximity to transport, food, shopping, tourist places ! Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Review 65:the light in the room not gd.. and wifi isnt work gd all the time .. الاضاءة صعيفة النت احيانا ضعيف

Review 66:staff was very friendly .. location is good .. value of money ... فندق جدا جميل وبنص سنتر العرب قيمته مناسبة

Review 67:Parking. Only 10 spots on the property and non reservable plus not free of charge, but 17€/day. Next parking garrage was 18€/day and very narrow...unless you drive a Smart or some small city car, you seriously risk to damage your car!

Review 68:Location, staff, cleanliness

Review 69:nothing special

Review 70:Very nice hotel, near to main railway station, friendly staff ready to help guests, excellent and rich breakfast, clean rooms. I was very satisfied with my stay at this hotel

Review 71:Wifi connection is terrible. There were a lot of people at the front desk complaining about this. The staff did not care much about it. There was a desktop in the lounge, but it did not work either. There is also a lot of noise coming from the hostel across the street.

Review 72:It was very close to the train station

Review 73:Before the check in we ordered a cradle that was never provided. The curtains were very dirty and despite the fact our room was a non smoke one, it had a very strong smell of cigar.

Review 74:Modern style hotel in a great location and breakfast ok.

Review 75:Very poor internet bandwidth - tried to use VOIP conf call but failed

Review 76:Quite rooms, gave me an early checkin desperately needed after transatlantic flight.

Review 77:I wish breakfast was included and not an extra cost.

Review 78:I love the location of this quiet hotel. It is only a 2 minute walk to the train station and close to shopping, etc... I can get anywhere I want in Munich.

Review 79:Non secure Wi-Fi, lack of English speaking channels on TV

Review 80:Great Location, near train station and walking distance to city center and shopping area, comfortable room, with tea and coffee, price reasonable for quality.

Review 81:Wifi was spotty, poor connection. Room smelled like strong perfume, thought maybe it was the hair spray product in bathroom though we never used. Had to open window to air out- irritated throat.

Review 82:The area around the hotel and railway station is not very appealing. There are a lot of people begging and hanging around the entrances.

Review 83:Very close (200 metres) to main railway station for trains and underground along with trams.

Review 84:The stuff at the reception was very strange behaving. Polite, but absolutely not welcoming. Receptionist Jana next morning howecer, was very friendly. I made a note when booking about a king size bed, but we got separate matraces. I mentioned that i am pregnant, but i received zero additional attention. As an example, in hotel Amber in Krakow stuff transferred us to the luxury room without us asking about it, they just were attentive. We did not receive any hint of any help or recommendations. The wifi is PAY and it was a pain to connect to it. Interior is ok, new,but nothing special.

Review 85:Located right in the centre, allowed me being pregnant, see the most of Munich. The hotel is very clean. They offer free refreshments at the lobby which is nice.

Review 86:Waiting 10 mins for the lift 90% of the time. Breakfast was poor. WIFI was peer than snail mail Some staff were rude Breakfast was 13 euro pp extra

Review 87:Location

Review 88:Bed pillows a bit lumpy and rough. Hostel next door was loud and could be heard in our bedroom late into the night.

Review 89:Nice and clean. Good location and value for money.

Review 90:The room was quite small and the bathroom was separated with glass.

Review 91:The hotel is very close to the station train and the city center. The staff was very polite and helpful. Also, the room was very clean. The price was ok for Munich standards.

Review 92:10-15 minutes wait for the lift in the morning. Lift needs reprogramming You hit the down button but it goes up instead.and it cannot pick up waiting guests on the way because it's too small.

Review 93:Great location and good room

Review 94:I booked an twin bedroom for my comfort and was stored in a tiny room of one signle bed, which is OK but I they made me pay full price of a twin bed (prices are the same they said). I don't think it is fair

Review 95:The room was not comfortable, nothing similar to pictured presented on web-site. Also it was strange smell, smth middle between cigarette and old dust. We have been there only 1 night (New Year), the price was extremely high!!! We have done booking in this hotel only because of absence of others.

Review 96:Breakfast, location, staff in the Hotel

Review 97:Room over the street was very noisy and we couldn't sleep - had to move rooms!

Review 98:Excellent staff - efficient and friendly. Rooms were very clean and well serviced.

Review 99:It is an idealy choice to select :) It's at most 8-10 minutes (with tram) or 20 minutes (walk) from the heart of Munich :D it's location is quite and safe ... also it is very close from the tram's central station and you can go directly to the airport !!! the staff is extremely friendly and gland to help you with anything you need ! (in our reservation we did not include breakfast so I cannot commend anything about it, but it must be as nice as the rest hotel ;) ) this hotel combines logical prices, warm environment and town's places/ shops to visit :D ... it is fully recomended for both young and mature people !!!

Review 100:The room was much too small; smallest and most confining I've ever been in. We were very disappointed in the experience.

Review 101:The desk staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 102:The only lift was broken for many hours one day. There were long queues at the reception on occasion. One morning the breakfast situation got completely out of hand: no eggs, cheese, orange juice, butter for a while and no coffee for half an hour, quite unacceptable.

Review 103:The location near the station was perfect and the hotel was suprisingly quiet. The rooms were immaculately clean. Very friendly staff.

Review 104:The night I arrived I had the news that there were no more roomsavailable. They sent me choose between two other hotels in the chain.Leonardo chose the Residenz which was about 5 miles away. I had to takethe subway at night to arrive at Marienplatz. As a kind of bonus theygave us breakfast and parking. But Leonardo Residency instead of dailyleave for 89 euros with the Booking was they charged me 119 euros. Andthe difference value between daily of the two hotels was 40 euros.Interestingly, in the Booking site and the hotel site reported that theday I arrived there were rooms available. The attendant came to meabsurd to say that it just happened. As I made the reservation more than90 days should at least have informed me they had no room for changehotel without thinking. I sent an email to the city of Munich and theHotel making the same complaint but had not yet answer is not know if Ihave. When I do my checkout still charged me more expensive than theBooking the daily rate. Not to stress over paid me, if it were in Brazilsue the Hotel. Not recommend to anyone to use this hotel chain, was theworst experience I had today traveling or in the interior of Brazil ithappened to me.

Review 105:The only things I liked were the location and the room.

Review 106:Poor customer relations on the part of the staff at the desk

Review 107:Very good location; Fair hotel; fair room; reasonable value; Good breakfast; Staff in the dining room were good.

Review 108:Pay for wifi, which was quite expensive. Opposite an extremely busy youth hostel with many people always hanging out the front. Had to ask every morning for a refill of green tea and sugar, after housekeeping had cleaned the room. Would think after asking once they would remember to refill, but they never did.

Review 109:Location - if you want to stay near the station it's perfect. Comfortable room

Review 110:Because of the expense of the breakfast we ate in nearby cafes (Coffee Fellows). The one small elevator often made it quicker to just use the stairs, especially going down. I was awakened about 6 AM Fri. & Sat because of construction in the inner courtyard. Fortunately, on Sun all was quiet. I suspect that a room on the street side would potentially be noisy because there are 2 youth hostels just across the street.

Review 111:The location near the main train station and only a couple of blocks from the beginning of the pedestrian zone of the old city were great. The staff was helpful and friendly. Although a charge for WiFi was stated on the confirmation, the hotel did not charge for it.

Review 112:Late response of the elevators :-( . Which is abnormal and I highly advice to improve it . Thank you .

Review 113:Excellent location , Staff, Breakfast Buffet .

Review 114:Room layout bathroom small and badly located right next to the bed Area around the station not the best

Review 115:Well appointed room Reasonably good location with a good Italain resturant on the corner Close to train stain for arrival and departure

Review 116:Location is poor and prepare to use the stairs as there is only one lift and it is very slow ! The room was small and very basic and the construction works behind the hotel start very early.

Review 117:Nothing, there are much better hotels close by at the same price !

Review 118:No complimentary water bottles. Room was small for price.

Review 119:The hotel's proximity to the train station is a bonus. Room was clean and stylish. Great bathroom!

Review 120:Although convenient for the central station it is opposite a hostel in a slightly edgy street. Wifi connection was not good (and not free) which made working difficult.

Review 121:Comfortable room. Good bathroom and bed. Good breakfast. Staff helpful.

Review 122:-very slow internet. And many times in the day the Internet stops. - one day of my stay the hotel did not clean my room, although I informed the manager. -when checking out I had to wait 15 min. Because nobody was at the reception. - although the hotel location is good,(near the train station) but in front of the hotel their was a lot of noise due to people in front of a hostel shouting. - the elevator is very slow and small. When checking out I waited 12 min. And then I desided to go down with my 2 big lugages down 5 stories. (It was very difficult)

Review 123:Very noisy neighborhood even at midnight Poor construction for preventing noises from outside and inside the facility (i.e. constant noise of doors opening and closing) Additional fee for internet which is unlikely in other European hotels

Review 124:Access to all major areas Friendly employees

Review 125:Booked a double room, arrived to be told the hotel was overbooked and they had no room for me. I was offered a room in their sister hotel the opposite side of Munich centre. I protested and eventually was given a single room. Staff advised that they always overbook and have to send customers to the other hotel. I will not go back.

Review 126:The staff was friendly and was able to communicate in flawless english. As a courtesy they gave us braceletts with the hotel address in the event we had one too many and couldnt get home!

Review 127:The pillows, if you can call them that were awful. I paid a higher pricefor this hotel verses others, and then they charged for Internet on topof that! No air conditioning, a serious deal breaker! We had to be up at2:45 am, there was no coffee packs left in our room. So no internet, noair conditioning and no coffee.. Didn't work so well for me.

Review 128:Location to what we wanted was great! Cleanliness was awesome! When wearrived Marcus was the best! They had a lift! The breakfast, which wasincluded, was the best we had all over Europe!

Review 129:Unreasonable cancellation policy relative to other similar hotels Strong cigarette smoke in room even when window is closed

Review 130:Really close to train station Excellent location to old town

Review 131:Small room / noisy after hours Limited facilities - bar downstrairs Not great value in comparison to Holiday Inn etc overall and most places have complementary wifi in modern travel sphere

Review 132:Location near train and Oktoberfest Friendly staff

Review 133:The room was at the stair entrance (room 165) and was noisy. The housekeeping boy, always knock the door even if the no distirbe sign is posted, and if reply to him to wait , he tend to open the door without permission. This is not good at all

Review 134:We liked both the girls at reception when we checked in.They were efficient, welcoming and helpful. Rooms were nice and comfortable and Hotel is so close to Train station.

Review 135:Room was on the dark side, more lighting needed. Room was way overpriced for what it offered. Had to ask for room to be cleaned as it was missed on our first day. The carpet in the hallways are dirty and need a good clean. The shower also needs a good clean in the grout as it's as a build of pink bacteria. You can't sleep with the window open due to the street noise from the 3 hostels directly across the road.

Review 136:Beds were comfortable

Review 137:For a four star hotel Pay for internet for each device and pay for expensive parking where as a three star hotel free internet as many devices you have with marginally cheaper car park

Review 138:Location and clean rooms

Review 139:Price for first night was far too high for this type of hotel. Breakfast OK but boiled eggs hard and cold. Room nice and clean but noisy with window towards Senefelder Strasse. As window had to be closed due to noise and air conditioning did not seem to make much difference, we were very hot in bed and slept very little.

Review 140:Staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful
