Reviews for King's Hotel Center Superior
Review 1:Very close to the train station and easy walk to the old town. Our room faced the back so was very quiet! The staff was very friendly and helpful - giving us great suggestions for restaurants and sites. This *** hotel is definitely one of the nicer buildings in this part of town.
Review 2:bed was a bit uncomfortable (and twin instead of double) personally not a fan of interior design
Review 3:had a feeling that I paid less than this hotel actually costs. everything was fine about the place, very firm 3star.
Review 4:Beautiful theme hotel. My husband loves it. Room is generally small but beautifully decorated and has what is needed to make a hotel stay comfortable. There are resturants around the hotel and walkable distance to train station and supermarket.
Review 5:- short walk to anywhere in the centre and the train station in case you need anything from the shops - nice atmosphere, friendly and competent staff
Review 6:Didn't have any problems at all. Maybe after 3 days the 15-20min walk gets a bit tiresome, but a few stops at pubs along the way always helps!
Review 7:Friendly staff, all spoke great English, good location close to the main central train station (so get a train from/to the airport, not an expensive taxi!) and a 15 min walk from the Marienplatz and surrounding area. Make sure you try Augustiner beer!
Review 8:my "ipad" could not work on the free wifi, luckily I had an other computer on microsoft and that one worked. Otherwise nothing else to say.
Review 9:The staff was great at the reception! The room was big, clean and well decorated in classical style. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the staff went out of their way to please, made for a nice way to start the day. The location is perfect for us, close to the main train station and close to the old town.
Review 10:There are 2 kings hotel located near to each other, make sure reach the right one if lugging around suitcases from the station
Review 11:The location is excellent 2 mins from central station
Review 12:No bar in hotel but there was a vending machine in reception area where you could get soft drinks or bottled beer.
Review 13:In a great location close to train station. We checked in and had warm welcome from reception who provided map of city. Our room was looking onto garden and courtyard so was incredibly quiet. Coffee machine in room and complimentary bottled water. Comfortable bed and pillows and excellent free wifi. Would definitely recommend.
Review 14:I wish European hotels invested in fitness facilities.... Most hotels in this quality range included breakfast... 20Euro for a buffet seems a little steep...
Review 15:Good location near the Hauptbahnhof and walkable location to the city center. Comfortable room at a good rate.
Review 16:Room was next to elevator, so some slight noise. Most of the front desk help were really great, but one or two others were a bit indifferent.
Review 17:Very close to the train station (5 mins) but also only 15 minutes walk to the town center or to the museums. Good breakfast and outstanding breakfast staff.
Review 18:The price is a little bite higher comparing to the size of the room.
Review 19:I like the position of the Hotel, it's quite convienent and the bed is very comfortable.
Review 20:The rooms were smaller than expected and the bathroom was more of a water closet, but did the job. The actual area of the hotel doesn't seem to have much going on, but it is only a 10 minute walk to the old town.
Review 21:Overall good, comfortable hotel with friendly staff and close to the old town of Munich.
Review 22:The shower door did not close...and looked like it had been that way for some time. Water came out on floor which is dangerous if you slip. The receptionist said she'd send the housekeeper up to take care of it---not! It needed a maintenance/repairman!!!
Review 23:Breakfast was very good but a bit pricey--wasn't included in price of room. Location was great if traveling by train-very close to the station. Staff was helpful in providing maps and directions.
Review 24:Very nice hotel in excellent location just outside the old town, I got a last minute special but other times can be little expensive - if u can get a special highly recomend itespecially for the beds which are magnificent
Review 25:a bit hassle with one internet code per device - I had 4 devices and had to logg-in a couple of times per day
Review 26:location friendly, staff, fancy bed, OK size of room & desk
Review 27:No mini-bar / fridge in the room. I could hear people talkng in the hallway, but this is not often wnd is not a deal-breaker.
Review 28:Great location at good value. Reasonable speed for the free wifi.
Review 29:We had a little difficulty finding the hotel; however, a neighborhood merchant gave us very specific directions that helped us along the way.
Review 30:The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was nice to have a shower large enough in which to turn around. The location was near the location for our starting point of daily activities. Although we had not originally planned on eating breakfast at the hotel, we did have breakfast one day and it was great.
Review 31:A bit old bathroom facilities Have to Lon in for wifi every time you need it.
Review 32:The location is superb, close to the main railway station but in a quiet place. The staff are very friendly. Good breakfast.
Review 33:I had not realised that it was not possible to eat in the hotel in the evening and would have liked rather more details on how to find the hotel.
Review 34:The location was useful for the station as we were travelling by train.
Review 35:No longer a bar at the hotel, but there is one at the "sister" hotel, about a block away.
Review 36:Surprisingly nice rooms, not large but not cramped. Great fast internet, even if the one-time login, with unique code per device (why?), seemed unnecessarily complicated. Location is terrific, right by the car-rental depot, a very short walk to the train station, a fairly short walk one direction to the Oktoberfest grounds, and a fairly short walk in the other direction to the historic center of Munich. We skipped the breakfast (which was not included in our room rate) but got good fairly-priced cappuccinos, made on the spot at the front desk. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were very thankful that they let us check in really early in the day, as we were able to use our room to get dressed for Oktoberfest.
Review 37:People were very friendly and accommodating. It was my birthday and they made a big deal of wishing me a happy one and even sent me up a bottle of champagne with a lot of pomp and circumstance.
Review 38:This hotel was within walking distance to the train station. There was an excellent Italian restaurant across the street and the Lowenbrau beer garden and restaurant were a few blocks away. The front desk people were friendly and spoke English. The room was very nice and the beds were comfortable.
Review 39:Not much! Just be aware of the distance to downtown. Very close to public transit though.
Review 40:Great room and staff! I thought the location was pretty nice. It was close to some cool restaurants. About 20 min walk to downtown but we were happy to make that trek since we saved a lot of money staying further out. The room was cool and cozy.
Review 41:Easy 5 minute walk from the HBF station, welcoming staff who pointed out all we needed to know and gave helpful directions. 10 minute walk to the heart of the old town. Was initially put off by some reviews of hotels in this area but there was nothing of concern at all around this one. A nice Italian cafe across the road had good meals at reasonable prices.
Review 42:car parking is only six spaces - book ahead and get confirmation. Cars must fit in the vehicle lift.
Review 43:friendly, helpful staff Wacky style - crowns over the entrance to the lifts! very central location
Review 44:You can't get an iron or ironing board for the room had to go down in lift past reception up the stairs to ironing room really poor idea .
Review 45:The staff where really helpful . The location from train station was 3 mins if that really helpfull we used the train to go many places .
Review 46:Location was excellent for access to train and bus tour locations. Staff was very pleasant and extremely helpful. Room noise was very quiet and comfy
Review 47:Hard to think of anything I didn't like - it was a lovely stay
Review 48:Such friendly and helpful staff, really wonderful! From the night manager (who made us hot chocolate at 5am) to the receptionist (who googled our next destination and sorted out our train timetables!!) they simply couldn't have been nicer. The little courtyard was a godsend too, especially since the weather was hot. Loved the quaint rooms and canopy beds, and great to have air conditioning. 4 mins walk from central station was also much appreciated!!
Review 49:A bit more pricey than other locations nearby also considering small things like poor bathroom amenities. Narrow passageway around the bed might not be ideal for those traveling with wheelchairs.
Review 50:Location was very convenient - right next to the Hauptbahnhof (just behind the hotel, 2mins walk), next to the car rental pickup/dropoff carpark (if you rent from the offices at the train station), and a short walk (10-15mins depending on your speed) to the city center. Air-conditioning was sufficiently cool. (Free) wifi was steady and strong. Staff were friendly.
Review 51:The front desk staff were excellent - super friendly and helpful. Very professional. We were particularly impressed by the young man who greeted us on our arrival in the afternoon of 26 August. The rooms aren't big but are good value and have everything you need in a great location for sightseeing.
Review 52:I have been travelling around Europe and have stayed at many hotels. The staff at King's Hotel were by far the most helpful and friendly than any other hotel I have stayed in on this trip. I also liked the location of this hotel as it was right near the central train station.
Review 53:The room was very small The hotel parking is only for one small car ( a very small car I mean ! ) but there is a public parking next to the hotel and it costs 20€ per day and the if you ask the hotel reception they will offer you a 50% discount on the public parking.
Review 54:Fantastic location both for main train station and town square. Lovely staff both behind the main desk and in the dining room in the morning. The gentleman in the dining room was particularly thoughtful in helping me take breakfast to the room each morning. The staff behind the reception desk gave great tips and directions in perfect English. Warm, helpful staff and comfortable hotel in a great location. Highly recommended.
Review 55:Breakfast is overcharged (15€/pax) for what they offer. We walked to a nearby bakery the second day which was fine.
Review 56:Location is great if you use main train terminal for going to the airport. It's not on a street with casinos and strip clubs etc. bed was comfy, new bed sheets, room smelled clean. Staff was helpful.
Review 57:Nothing
Review 58:Great city centre hotel in great location 10 mins walk from the centre of Munich, and close to the Hauptbahnhof and tram / underground network. Everything you'd expect from a very good city hotel at an affordable price.
Review 59:The air conditioning does not work very well. WiFi was super expensive $60 for 3 days!! The room was very small and not very comfortable. Small bathroom. The pillows were too soft and they did not have any other kind. It was very hot in the room and we asked for a bed sheet instead of the hot/thick bedspread but they did not have any. Air conditioning does not work; it was very hot in Munich in August.
Review 60:The hotel was very close to the main train station and the main bus station. The Room and sheets were very clean. The staff was helpful and friendly in a German way.
Review 61:Everything was great, except the lack of mini bar.
Review 62:Hotel is near the main station in Munich, which was perfect for, because we traveled around a bit. Room was big enough for 3 days in the city. Staff was super helpful. Cleaning personnel was exellent, they even changed our sheets without special request. The room had a central air conditioning, which was great in the given temperatures over 30 degrees during the day (beginning of August). The hotel is located close to the old city, which can be reached by walking od various transports.
Review 63:• The room is so small • The AC is very weak • There is no refrigerator in the room
Review 64:• staff were very friendly • Breakfast is wonderful • Hotel location is perfect
Review 65:On entering the room it had an unpleasant smell : raw meat and the bathroom did not smell clean. When we contacted reception they sent up housekeeping who sprayed products on the walls and poured a product down the drain. I used my own air freshener and aired the room to make it better. We also chose this hotel based on the air conditioning . It was very weak. Very soft uncomfortable pillows
Review 66:Location was fine close to the old Munich Parking was excellent in the hotel basement
Review 67:No bar and restaurant, only breakfast
Review 68:The location is very good for city trips, most sights are close to the centrally locaties hotel Breakfast was good
Review 69:In the throes of a heat wave, it would have been nice if the air-conditioning had been operational in the room. We followed all instructions provided, but could not get it to turn on, alas!
Review 70:Delightful staff, lovely rooms, good wifi connection, marvelous breakfasts, and a super location, near both train station and center of town.
Review 71:Room a bit cramped. Breakfast too expensive, particularly for what was provided. Also no free coffee/tea in lobby. Suggest you get breakfast at nearby Hauptbahnhof.
Review 72:Fantastic front lobby staff. Friendly, helpful, excellent English. Location near Hauptbahnhof is very convenient. Air conditioning was a great relief in hot weather.
Review 73:AC didn't really work (tiny vent and no temp control), breakfast was not included even though room wasn't cheap (extra €15) and toiletries were very limited. No conditioner. Only body gel/shampoo combo in a dispenser. Again only a big deal because room wasn't cheap. Room either needs to be less $ or with more amenities. There are better options in the train station area in that price point.
Review 74:Room was nice, proximity to rail station and staff was friendly.
Review 75:It's location is a bit of a walk to the main center.
Review 76:The hotel was perfect for our needs. Very close to the train station and off a quiet street. The wifi is free, but you have to get a new password every 24 hours from the front desk. I would stay here again.
Review 77:Unbeatable location for rail travelers (2 minutes from central station), but even if you arrive via the airport you have an excellent connection via the S1 and S8 suburban rail lines. Friendly, attentive staff. Room faced away from the busy thoroughfare into a quiet courtyard and was pleasantly silent during the night.
Review 78:Feel very hot when walking to the old city because of the hot weather. 35 degree C.
Review 79:The convenient location to central train station and return our rental car. Air conditioning room. The paintings in the room.
Review 80:The air-conditioning cooled the room quite well but came from one narrow outlet and directed the airflow across the heads of the beds. No tea or coffee making in the room and no bar fridge.
Review 81:Great beds and very convenient location (near the main station).
Review 82:We were charged for mini bar (water) which we did not take or use. However the desk personal insisted we did because of their records. This kind of spoiled our view of the staff.
Review 83:Just about everything.
Review 84:The twin beds are very narrow.
Review 85:Beautiful hotel, welcoming and helpful staff, very clean, everything is new. Quit close and easy to find the way to the old town center. Close to the main train station, but in a quiet area.
Review 86:Very good location from the Munich Hbf, traffic in Munich was very convenient so not far away from the city center. Comfortable room, even though the room was a little bit narrow. there was a iPod player, which was much better than other hotels.
Review 87:Says in room info it has a cocktail bar. It doesn't - it has limited drinks from a vending machine. Private parking is expensive.
Review 88:Reasonable price for the location 15 minutes walk from old city. Has private parking.
Review 89:The breakfast would have been good if the coffee machine had been better. Sadly, it produced coffee that tasted weak. The coffee served at Reception was much better and hot!
Review 90:Fantastic staff at Reception
Review 91:Bathroom had liquid soap, but neither shampoo nor body lotion, which we had forgotten.
Review 92:Quiet, attractive room, super-friendly and extra-helpful staff. Easy access on foot to main train station and major tourist attractions. Lovely garden.
Review 93:You could not wash any underwear . There are no facilities for ironing . No facilities to make a hot drink . Every day a new password is necessary to access WiFi . Breakfast is good but expensive
Review 94:Interesting restaurants nearby . Convenient walk to the central railway station and tour of the city buses
Review 95:Some hotel staff's service attitude is so bad that it feels likeyour whole day is ruined. And you merely can remember anything specialfrom the hotel. Won't choose it again.
Review 96:Good breakfast and perfect location!
Review 97:the room is not ready when I get there.
Review 98:good location and the reception is very helpful. The Internet is okay. like the interior design but the room is clean.
Review 99:Stuffed up our reservation and another gust walked into our room. The staff were most apologetic and fave us one free breakfast. The key to the room did not work again on our last day but the soon sorted it out.
Review 100:Wi fi and close to train, tube & bus station. Close to the best beer garden in Munich augustiner keller!
Review 101:The bed. The room is really small.
Review 102:The staff was always ready to assist. The breakfast was really good. The location is excellent: close to the train station and downtown - everything in within a short walk.
Review 103:The bathroom amenities were minimal, with no bar soap, just a pump of some anonymous liquid. Coffee at breakfast was a travesty, some combination of low-end beans and a poor machine. There was no way to black out the light from the window, which meant an early wakeup in mid June, when the sun rises shortly after 5.
Review 104:My daughter chose this hotel for a business trip that she had to accompany me on. She selected it for the canopy over the bed, and it did not disappoint. The rest of the experience was quite pleasant from an adult perspective, as well. The room was small, but roomy enough for a short stay, neat and comfortable. The hotel staff were quite helpful, especially figuring out the trams and buses I needed to get to my morning meetings.
Review 105:no service , no room service , no tea making facilities in the room , no restaurant .Staff very happy to tell you what they did not provide
Review 106:the bed and the room were nice
Review 107:Best not to get a room near the lift if possible.
Review 108:The room was comfortable and large and the bed was also comfortable. The hotel was in good walking distance of main train station, Marienplatz and most important Munich sites - we even walked to the Englischergarten - but that was quite far. Staff were helpful and we were very relieved to find our room ready for us despite landing in Munich at 5.30am! A great start to an amazing few days.
Review 109:10 minutes walk to pedestrian area. Very clean. Parkhaus right Behind hotel for 10€ a night. ( The hotel stamps the parking card to give you half off the 20€ a night fee) very enjoyable stay
Review 110:No fridge or coffee making facilities.
Review 111:Roomy, regal, unique, great location near railway station, bus station and within walking distance of many Museums. We enjoyed our stay very much and we would recommend it.
Review 112:Unfortunately for sensitive senses of smell , it is hard to escape the feint smell of cigarette smoke even in bed linen despite the rooms being non- smoking.
Review 113:Staff were excellent, genuinely interested, helpful and friendly.
Review 114:No tea and coffee making facilities in the room.b
Review 115:Quiet even though we were on street side. Cute room with canopy over the bed. Close to train station and airport bus - but not too close. It was in a good location to walk to old centre, cafes and shops.
Review 116:Unbeatable location. I love the unique vintage style decoration of the room. The staff members are very helpful and friendly. The beds are a bit narrow but that's how the hotel beds are like in Eourpe.
Review 117:The "bar" is a self-service machine, it is not very attractive. A small fridge in the room would be nice.
Review 118:Central location but quiet; close to the city center and to many museums. Good italian restaurant across the street; nice breakfast and helpfull staff.
Review 119:The ventilator was not work in the bathroom. When I stayed there, it rained, so really humid.
Review 120:The location was very convenient to visit most of places in müchen.
Review 121:This hotel is well located near the central station and not far from the Altstadt but is very quiet considering its inner city location. We found the hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room decoration was unique.
Review 122:careful, one of the lady staff is very aggressive. Try not to ask many questions and you ll be fine.
Review 123:the room is nice though a bit too small for the price. Location is good, not far from main station and about 15 minutes walk from shopping area
Review 124:The Hotel's location is super convenient, about a 5 min walk from the Hbf central train station and easy walking distance to Marienplatz. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was cozy and clean, while the bed was very comfortable. Excellent value for the price. Highly recommended for all travelers. We will be back the next time we are in Munich.
Review 125:Room was tiny, as was bathroom. Room was hot, but due to the location of a outdoor staircase, it was not secure to sleep with the window open. This is a three star hotel, not four. Not as close to the aldstadt as stated.
Review 126:Nice staff. Close to train station. Close to covered parking garage. Super clean bathrooms. Comfortable bed.
Review 127:I had requested a double room and instead was given a room with two twin beds. The beds were comfortable, but I never ssleep well in such a narrow bed. I thought reserving a superior room (and therefore paying more) would insure a double bed.
Review 128:The room was very quiet. The staff were friendly. WiFi functioned well. Location was convenient.
Review 129:Didn't try the breakfast, was better value to eat out. Beds could have been more comfortable, but weren't bad.
Review 130:Staff were lovely and friendly. Location is excellent for central Munich. No issues with the room which was clean, a good size, and had a nice little bathroom. Great value for money, would go again.
