Reviews for Hotel Perlenau
Review 1:The staff were so amazing! I was able to change my room after arriving so I could have a bath tub for post-marathon recovery. They made sure I had everything I needed and even set out a whole breakfast just for me on my final day! It was such a cozy and warm environment and very relaxing! A great lobby with chairs and a beautiful fire place. The food was delicious and beautifully presented! I will be bringing my whole family back here in the spring!
Review 2:This was our 5th visit to the Perlenau and it is our favorite place to stay. The staff is always friendly, the food is delicious and the setting is like a postcard. We will be back again!
Review 3:We never managed to make wi-fi work and there were not enough toiletries in the room
Review 4:Excellent location next to a beautiful creek in the forest. Room spacious and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful.
Review 5:Just one member of staff had barely adequate English. The common areas were not very welcoming or comfortable.
Review 6:The hotel is quiet with good access to country walks and cycle paths.
Review 7:The Staff was very friendly and helpful. Staying here while we attended the F1 GP at Spa. Very comfortable stay. Would like to return to spend more time sightseeing in the area. The nearby town of Monschau was very charming. The hotel setting was very nice.
Review 8:A lovely peaceful spot in a hidden wooded valley. It really feels like a haven. The hotel is neither the most modern nor the most laden with facilities. It offers a good night's sleep and decent food in a perfectly peaceful location.
Review 9:I'd have liked a bit more info. At check-in when showing me the room, the employee didn't offer to help me with my bags.
Review 10:The staff were, generally, very nice especially as we didn't speak the same language.
Review 11:Nothing, but because of advancing years would have appreciated a lift.
Review 12:Location: very peaceful yet only a few minutes from town. Liked the traditional German style (quite rustic, suiting the setting), and pleased to have an up-to-date, smart, bathroom. Good breakfast: juice, eggs, cold meat, cheese, fruit, cereals and an assortment of bread. Forest setting kept the room cool in very hot weather. Ample parking.
Review 13:Couldn't get the WiFi to work at all and unfortunately the language barrier meant we didn't resolve that issue. The bar/restaurant had very restricted hours so spent a lot of time in our room eating for it to open and the food was average for the price. Room comfortable but bathroom quite cramped which was not helped by the huge sink.
Review 14:Beautiful and peaceful setting. Charachterful property and not too far from Monschau. Staff friendly.
Review 15:in order to avoid disappointment please bare in mind that you can only reach the hotel with a car! great location especially if u like to wander, very tranquil & relaxing. spacious and very clean room, very polite staff, internet connection was fantastic, breakfast was nice too. would go there again
Review 16:When booking, I requested two rooms, both with twin beds. What we got when we arrived, was 2 twins and one double. The hotel said they emailed a response (in German) that they only have one twin. However, I simply thought was a translation for my original request. Our fellow guests had to pay extra for an available extra single room (extra 15 euros) which the hotel could have and should have conceded. When I gently protested, they said I should have used Google Translate. Also we arrived at 8.30 and they were locking up the hotel, assuming we were no shows and making no effort to call us. Everything shuts a 8 pm and doors get locked. Ideal for people who go to bed before 8 pm, but nobody else
Review 17:Hotel is quirky, traditional. Some stuffed animals used as decoration, so great if you like to see that.
Review 18:Family suite has 2 beds in a loft with a ladder/staircase that was too steep and scary for my young son to climb, so he ended up sleeping in our bed.
Review 19:Very good typical German breakfast. Dinner was wonderful. Very clean, quite rooms. Nice hiking trails around the hotel. Beautiful area.
Review 20:Our family has stayed here several times and the reasons are many. The very friendly staff makes your stay pleasant. The rooms and bathrooms are large and clean. The dinner menu is extensive and the food delicious. The breakfast variety is plentiful and you leave full. The gasthaus is a short drive or a nice walk to Monschau. The walk is by a nice path through the forest. All in all always an enjoyable stay.
Review 21:a marvellous old building in a rural location in the Eiffel mountains but close to the old town of monchau. A log fire to have a drink by & an excellent breakfast
Review 22:Difficult access without a car as it is a little remote. The wifi connection in the room was not existent. I could connect only outside the hotel or in the ground floor
Review 23:Location near the river with direct access to walking trails in the woods was really relaxing. Private parking. The buffet breakfast was good.
Review 24:It was a little tired and could perhaps do with some new carpet. The internet was patchy
Review 25:The location is lovely and quiet. The rooms are enormous and the food was very tasty.
Review 26:Who ever decided that a foosball table in the lobby next to the rooms with paper thin walls was a good idea needs to think again. I nearly lost my mind trying to fall asleep. To be fair it was Saturday night around 10pm but I had an early start following day and could fall asleep due to the noise in the lobby.
Review 27:Good service, good menu in restaurant
Review 28:There was really nothing to dislike at Hotel Perlenau.
Review 29:Hotel Perlenau is situated in the middle of the woods next to a small stream which makes the area increadibly peaceful and relaxing. It is a perfect resort for anyone needing a stress relief and getting away from it all for a while. We were planning to go to Monschau for dinner, but stayed at the hotel instead because of the peaceful atmosphere. Dinner was really good and staff were very attentive and friendly - we were the last guests on the terrace and a lovely lady who works there suggested we move to a more pleasant spot "where it is more romantic :) " - she even turned on some dimmed lights for us to have the dessert. Wi-fi was free and working well, both in the room and on the terrace in front of the hotel. The room was spacious and sleeping with the sound of the stream made it one of the more relaxing nights we had had in a long time - if at all possible, we will certainly go back.
Review 30:The hotel is set in a beautiful wooded valley, with a stream running at the side of it, and is so restful and peaceful. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The rooms were very comfortable and it was lovely to hear the stream flowing, no other noise was present. We ate at the hotel in the courtyard outside, as the weather was extremely hot, which was pleasant and a welcome relief. We would recommend this to family and friends and would have no hesitation in returning ourselves.
Review 31:TV offers two or three German channels, signal drops every few minutes for a few seconds.
Review 32:Very welcoming hosts, clean room (with complimentary water bottles next the bed) and spotless clean adjacent large bathroom. The hotel is no fancy modern boutique hotel, but very charming (with plenty of parking space) and located next the woods, so if you're into hiking, this is an ideal hotel! Breakfast was very OK as well!
Review 33:A lovely, very peaceful location. It was an ideal base for a motorcycle tour on some terrific roads in the Ardennes. My room was very comfortable and the staff were friendly. The restaurant provided a good breakfast and a very good dinner.
Review 34:Very nice location, inside a forest and next to a stream
Review 35:Too far to walk to the main town. A cab ride was only €10 and they arranged the taxi for us.
Review 36:The service and the resturant on site was amazing.
Review 37:The restaurant,peaceful surroundings
Review 38:Location is only one step away from the national park and many hiking routes. Nice restaurant.
Review 39:The bed and pillow was not good. Bed to hard and pillow to soft!

Review 51:great location staff very friendly food and beer good great walks
Review 52:Good old fashioned hotel in idyllic woodland location. Excellent welcome by staff who spoke enough English .
Review 53:The beautiful quietness and the sound of water flowing down the little river.
Review 54:Room rather basic but comfortable
Review 55:Location, Staff, breakfast
Review 56:noise from ventelation
Review 57:Calm, forest around, you can start walking the forest path right from the door
Review 58:Nothing!
Review 59:Position-food-comfort-friendly staff
Review 60:Room lacked space for luggage. Internet requires registration; why not through Hotel hotspot?
Review 61:Location is great. Bathroom excellent. Food good. Nice walk to Monschau
Review 62:We could hear everything from the hallway. The room was small, but with some rearrangement of furniture there could be more room. No desk, no night table for my spouse (I had one). Needs a 'face-lift' (lacks a bit character).
Review 63:Nice bathroom. Common areas of the hotel are cosy. Close to nature walks.
Review 64:The staff were very helpful in processing a last minute change to our group, but their subsequent pricing adjustment did not make any sense at all. Our room was freezing when we got there, and it took hours to warm up.
Review 65:The hotel is beautiful and in the middle of the woods, a very nice location. Breakfast was nice.
Review 66:45 minutes before the breakfast buffet ended, the empty food trays were not re-filled. Show up early or get the scraps.
Review 67:If you are into nature or hiking this hotel is for you. The Perlenau Hotel is literally 30 meters from a National Forest trail.
Review 68:I liked the geographical position: very nice promenade in the morning in the woods. I liked the hotel itself: mysterious and ancient....but very comfortable
Review 69:It's so hard to release the door lock and should be given detail instruction.
Review 70:Nice wizen beer, free Wi-fi. Very quiet and nice location, close to hiking route.
Review 71:The factor that it was unfit for invalide, which - by the way- was my problemen, nog theirs.
