Reviews for Leonardo Hotel & Residenz Muenchen

Review 1:Internet is rather slow and limited (watching videos is not available)

Review 2:Perfect location, most helpful staff. The rooms have kitchen and balconies! Recommend to everyone!

Review 3:we arrived before check in time and needed to leave our luggage there until we could get into the room. Unfortunately we had to take our bags to the luggage hold room which was one floor down, down a passage and into a room. We had no luggage tags to ensure the security of them as any guests would have access to this room if they asked for the key

Review 4:Nice hotel, very close to metro station, about 30mins walking distance to the center of the city. And we liked that there was small kitchen in the room.

Review 5:Our room was not clean - dirt and hair on the floors, dirt smeared on the bathroom floor. It seemed like the room got a quick clean instead of the deeper clean it needed. The overall hotel is in need of an update - shabby, worn carpets and faded bedding

Review 6:Staff was kind and helpful. Good transportation links into the city, easy to navigate. Secure parking garage. Good breakfast wth a wide variety of choices.

Review 7:We were 3 people... they just brought an extra fold up bed and put it in the room usually for 2. The price also went up from day to day for 4 days from 79 to 89 to 99 to 189! Excessively exploitative.

Review 8:Good location Clean

Review 9:hotel charges full price for a 3 bed room but it is the same room for 2 beds (with an extra sofa bed) so it is extremely crowded. I do not think it is a good business practice.

Review 10:proximity to public transportation

Review 11:There is not much we didn't like the only complaint we had was that the water in the shower sometimes varied temperature when other rooms used theirs but this is a small problem and can be fixed.

Review 12:I went on a 10 day trip to Munich with my friend to see the city and go skiing. The hotel was mainly for sleeping and resting. We found out that we had a handy cooker in our room so to save some money we decided to cook there. The staff was very good and brought extra pans upon request, The very good thing is the cleaning service. The hotel always smells nice and the cleaners were very pleasant and did their job willingly. Over all a good stay and would recommend this hotel especially if you are Italian.

Review 13:Very very very bad wifi

Review 14:Everything was fine very clean and the receptionist was very kind.the underground station is across the street and a supermarket with breakfast

Review 15:The smell of bathroom. Other than that we were very happy.

Review 16:I liked that the station was close by. The room was very clean and had a balcony. Very satisfied for what we paid for.

Review 17:The hotel was in a very quiet part of Munich but close to the centre by underground. We have stayed there 4 times before and would not wish to consider staying anywhere else

Review 18:Arrived at the wrong hotel, but they quickly found our booking and redirected us to the right hotel. No complaints at all, breakfast was excellent. Thank you

Review 19:Everything. Perfect room, perfect team, very quiet and clean area, only ten minutes with the U-bahn to the center - you cam be in Marienplatz in 15 minutes from your room.

Review 20:We were in room 911 which we discovered on our second day was next to the hoist which is used for deliveries. We were wakened at 7.00 am by cages being noisily wheeled from a large van and the bumping and banging as the cages went down to the basement. This lasted for nearly an hour. There was a total lack of privacy as the movers had to complete the job by standing right at our window. We were told this happened every other day so refused the replacement room offered only to find the same thing happened again the next morning. I was really happy to be going home that day. The lack of sleep really ruined our break.

Review 21:Convenience to transport and a comfortable room.

Review 22:Bed was not comfortable very hard.

Review 23:Great location. Close to restaurants, grocery stores and very close to subway so we could travel around Munich and have not drive.

Review 24:The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is good very close to the subway station, mini markets are also nearby. Room was clean and comfortable

Review 25:The front desk staff when we first arrived barely made any effort to understand us even though they spoke perfect English. They also seemed inconvenienced when we had questions. It was very frustrating. The staff at the desk in the morning were much more friendly and willing to help.

Review 26:The location was great. Right next to a metro stop which made getting around the city, easy!

Review 27:The staff messed out and gave our room to someone else Before check out time so someone got in in our room while we were still there!!! The staff was not professional and not really nice.

Review 28:No English menu in hotrl's restaurant.

Review 29:Very good location - only 1 minute walk to the metro station Very close to good and cheep croatian restaurant - 20 meters

Review 30:One negative was that the beds were rather hard and meant it was difficult to have a good night's sleep

Review 31:Staff were helpful and the breakfast was very good

Review 32:Lovely hotel. Exceptionally clean. Very friendly staff. Great facilities including 24hr sauna, internet lounge, bar and restaurant. The hotel is in a quiet location only a 2 minute walk from an underground station giving quick and easy access to anywhere in Munich. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Review 33:The desk required a passport and was not willing to accept my driver license. But then did `for this time`.The room was prepaid and I felt questioned. Please inform about this at Booking.com, that certain hotels require passport

Review 34:We had a very nice stay, liked the breakfast, the catering staff, (there was a lot of them), the restaurant, everywhere fresh and clean.

Review 35:Asked for water at night as all shops were closed, staff was not helpful at all. Room was meant for an upgrade to Triple but was not upgraded for the first night.

Review 36:Connected to Underground station.

Review 37:Price of the room was high, but expected during oktoberfest. However, for the star rating you'd expect more.

Review 38:Friendly staff, good location with a ubahn station nearby.

Review 39:Loved the bar team! Very good! Especially the beautiful woman forgot her name blonde woman. She will know us from "three breakfasts please" if I do stay again this will be the hotel I choose.

Review 40:We thought we booked Leonardo City Centre so were a bit disappointed when we arrived. We asked for early check in at time of booking as arrived from Australia at 7 am with a toddler. Nothing was communicated with us and at arrival we were told that we could only check in at 3 pm. Had a mini kitchen but no dishwashing detergent or tea towel and our room was not cleaned on the second day. No milk in the fridge.

Review 41:Good selection for breakfast.

Review 42:the hotel refused to let us check in without any reason!!!we went to the hotel from airport in rainny day, there was no email no telephone to tell us the thing before we arrived.nether we should go to the other leonardo hotel 7 km from there or we booking a new hotle by ourselves.we accept their suggestion and went to the olympiapark hotel.the room faced the elevator and by the roadside.it was so noisy all the night.the BTW The receptionist was so rude to us.

Review 43:nothing

Review 44:Our room was located on the 2nd floor right above where the employees took their smoking breaks. We might as well have been in a smoking room. It was also loud at night when people came out for a break.

Review 45:Breakfast was excellent. Friendly service all around and the front desk gave us a great restaurant suggestion on the day we arrived.

Review 46:The fitness room contains only three bicycles (one broken). It does not have equipments to work out.

Review 47:The hotel is about 50 m far from subway station (Silberhornstrasse), as well as you can find a mini-market (Penny) by just crossing the street. There is a nice restaurant merged to the hotel.

Review 48:Restaurant hostess at breakfast was very unfriendly and a bit scary. Desk staff much better . Seemed to be a lot of noisy people in front of hotel every evening. Perhaps because of Oktoberfest.

Review 49:Clean, nice neighborhood a bit away from the center but not too far by subway. Excellent breakfast buffet.

Review 50:For the first two weeks of our stay it was very warm and we would have liked air conditioning.

Review 51:The room was comfortable with the kitchen facility and was kept clean everyday, we also loved having the little balcony. We did not have the breakfast everyday but when we did it was of good quality with friendly staff in attendance. In fact all the staff were well mannered and friendly.

Review 52:No air condetion , and the smel of the cegerts of the nex room is intareing my room The staf don't explain how to yous the car garag The washing machine is not washing my clothes probably

Review 53:Room not very big for a triple, would have liked 3 single beds rather than a double and a single. Good job we were all friends! Bar not up to much for a nightcap.

Review 54:Good location for the centre and Oktoberfest

Review 55:Nothing

Review 56:Nothing bar was expensive location not good for local resturantes. cleaning was poor lots of dust in rooms glass in bathroom and shower screen very dirty carpet in room dirty

Review 57:no milk for coffee in room. Had to go down to the bar in the evening to get some. Was told by staff very rudely that there is no room service so I had to make the trip to the bar myself. Very expensive room and only limited amount of coffee and milk. I did expect more for the money I paid. Customer service does not seem to rate high in the Leonardo

Review 58:It was Oktoberfest so the room price was overinflated to say the least. The beds were very uncomfortable. It was like sleeping on boards. The twin beds could use some memory foam padding.

Review 59:Loved the location. Easily accessible to central Munich by Underground just one block down. Extremely clean room with nothing missing. Loved the on-site Italian restaurant where the food was great!

Review 60:Did not get twin beds as requested. Was told we would get them next day but this had not been communicated to the next shift of staff. Had to go through a whole performance again

Review 61:Breakfast

Review 62:During 20 days, your hotel does not remove the blocking of funds from my credit card. When I booking-funds was removed from my credit card. Later our group of friends paid 5 rooms by cash(which I paid before). It has been 20 days ago and now, unfortunately,I did not get my money back, which I paid by credit card.

Review 63:The room was comfortable and clean.

Review 64:Wifi was terrible

Review 65:The room was very spacious and clean and everything worked really well apart from the free wifi. This service appeared to be completely non existent as nothing would connect and it wasn't even possible to make a weather app work! If this was improved I would rate the hotel as excellent as everything else was very comfortable.

Review 66:They didn't have air conditioners and it was very hot

Review 67:The staff was brilliant! I stayed at 6 hotels on the holiday and this hotel staff was the best!!

Review 68:Access to transport, both local and long distance excellent. Although restaurant was closed for holidays plenty of restaurants and other eateries quite close to hotel.

Review 69:Very small triple room. The receiption lady was professional, but as cold as ice, when we checked in.

Review 70:Rich breakfast! Good location, very close to the metro stop. The mini kitchen is odd, but helpful.

Review 71:No air con makes it a bit stuffy although there's a door to the balcony and a window to open Don't expect much from the kitchenette - one pot without a lid made cooking options limited The free wi-fi wasn't reliable

Review 72:Quiet location opposite a park for the children Lots of supermarkets nearby Underground parking Third bed in the triple room was good

Review 73:Travelled during very hot spell 35 degs c no air conditioning but thenagain most hotels in munich don't have air con

Review 74:excellent position for trains etc and good location for using hire car to visit places outside of city 5 mins on a8 south to bertchesgrden as example or use outer ring road for all other destinations

Review 75:Bad cleaning service. No air conditioning. The third bed isn't even a bed.

Review 76:Gym and sauna. Excellent position. The receptionists were SO nice. We had a lot of issues, but the people at the reception helped us.

Review 77:The hotel doesn't have air conditioning or any other form of ventilation, not even a fan. And the price although payable seems high taking this into account. Almost all rooms have a veranda but it doesn't help a lot when it is 37 C (98,6 F), because it actually gets warmer. I must strongly advise to never use this hotel in the summer, especially with kids.

Review 78:Location, cleanliness, free wifi, and especially breakfast.

Review 79:Difficult to find when buses are parked out front. Wi-fi is awful, most time could not be used in room. Signal is usable in business center.

Review 80:Location was close to metro stop so easy to get around.

Review 81:I didn't like the attitude of the staff members. The hotel had a particular scent, and the wifi was terrible, it only worked in the bathroom. Theres no air-condition and when you open the door/windows for air, there was lots of bugs that came in. Granted this was summer, but it was not pleasant at all.

Review 82:Very hot in the room. There is a fan in the room but the weather is too good and a fan is not enough.

Review 83:Good location, a supermarket and a couple restaurants nearby. Quiet area

Review 84:No air conditioning and noisy street outside, so difficult to sleep in summer.

Review 85:Handy location for the tube and for sightseeing. Handy cooking facilities in the room, but no complimentary tea/coffee Supermarket across the street. Clean

Review 86:The staff was incredibly helpful. They accomodated our small family very well! When they saw we had a small baby with us, they even switched our room to ensure we had more space so the baby bed would fit and that we would have more room to move about. I really appreciated that.

Review 87:The bed for children was in fact a very hard leather chair which folded down in to a single bed. Very very hard and uncomfortable!

Review 88:Location was next to the subway. We walked a few times into the city... 45 mins but a great opportunity to explore off the beaten track. Breakfast was good too!

Review 89:The sheets has not been changed after the first night.

Review 90:Quiet area. Easy to parking in the neighborhood. 3km away from Marienplatz and 1km from Deutsche Museum. Fast and efficient staff.

Review 91:We had a double room with extra bed, since we travelled one adult and three kids, this left us with no space. Hard madrasses. Tiny bathrooms, the shower flooded the floor. In the fitness room, men walked around naked, somehow disturbing.

Review 92:The breakfast was good when we finally found a free table. The receptionist did her best but there was too many guest waiting for help. I think the hotel basically had too many guests staying that they could cope with.

Review 93:The free wifi was useless in the room. Even after joining the advantage club which should have help, no luck ay all. If you need even minimal wifi service in your room, this hotel chain is not for you.

Review 94:Clean, good bedding.

Review 95:Not recommended for business stay. The free wifi was absolutely terrible. And no mobile coverage in my room. Also, breakfast was exceptionally basic. One reception staff member was very unhelpful.

Review 96:Staff in hotel restaurant were lovely, as was food. Room was clean.

Review 97:Rooms are too small for triple and double room ( first night they gave us triple room which is actually a double room with extra bed size 50 cm in the ground floor and at 6:00am the towel track comes and collect the hotel towels which makes horrible noise) No AC in the rooms and the weather is extremely hot in summer Staff were not that nice and welcoming

Review 98:The underground is close to the hotel German restaurant near the hotel which is very good

Review 99:very bad staff and service. the hotel looks like a 2 star hotel, dirty and old. Especially the staff named "Mohammad" was not help anything and lied to us.

Review 100:nothing i like. love the way you lie.

Review 101:some staff do not really 'enjoy' the idea of servicing families with young children and more than once we were invited to sit for breakfast on tables serviced by other attendants. this put me off a bit, because you expect children to make a bit of a mess and/or noise when they're so young - even though parents try to control them as much as possible. no a/c - was a bit hot on some days

Review 102:kitchen in hotel room. cleanliness close to supermarket and underground.

Review 103:- Dishonest management (insisted on overcharging, sold double room as triple room just by pulling out a chair) - Cramped rooms - Dirty (smell of stale urine in bathroom and sticky floor), with limited problem resolution - Reception understaffed/overwhelmed - always long waits - Too few elevators

Review 104:We ended up enjoying the mattress after all the stress - is that a positive?

Review 105:The hotel had no air conditioner, which is torture in the heat of summer. The little kitchenette and the carpet were not very clean and the hotel doesn't smell fresh.

Review 106:The hotel has a good feel, the staff are friendly and the balcony was really nice to have.

Review 107:Even though we requested that our room would NOT be on the ground floor, we were given one on the ground floor. It was very noisy every night/early morning - we were often woken up because of toilets flushing, showers, etc from the upper levels. Also room was only a double room even though we booked a triple room so it was really short on space. The third bed was very uncomfortable for an adult (an unfolded armchair). Also no air conditioning made the room really hot, especially at night.

Review 108:The location was excellent and in a nice enough area with two shops nearby. The kitchenette provided in the room was very useful.

Review 109:No room service, no complimentary drinking water, and no air conditioning

Review 110:Location wise it was value for money, poor A/c and ventilation - In summer heat like 30 / 38 degrees, it is expected to have air-conditioning in rooms - we had to buy our own table top fan, as what the hotel provided was just a medium size pedestal fan which could hardly blow air to one bed, where as we were three in two beds

Review 111:On return from the sauna we found out we had a faulty door lock, after spending 1.5 hours waiting to get into the room we were late meeting friends. The reception offered us free parking as compenaation which is a joke.

Review 112:Room was on the ground floor and you see people on the street passing by. There is no aircon so in the hot days you have to open windows (and let in flies and mosquitos)

Review 113:good location (quiet district of Munchen but close to Deutsches Museum, Zoo and also city center), clean room with a small kitchen (triple room), free bottle of water on arrival, rich breakfast

Review 114:No air conditioning, nothing in a minibar, stuff not polite and they charged 2 times all room costs. They didnt explain their procedure and was not in a line with booking.com rules from the reservations.

Review 115:Near the city center

Review 116:We were a couple but we got two single beds joined together, it was uncomfortable. There was a balcony but it was a little bit dirty.

Review 117:The location of the hotel is really good, there are shops nearby. We definitely loved breakfast

Review 118:- We were travelling with small children and every morning we had trouble finding a table at the breakfast room. A lady from the staff did not let us in the area where they had bigger tables (and where other people were eating). We felt that the staff did not notice us and did not want to help us find a table. This is why we gave a low rating to the employees. - One night we called the reception about the lack of running water. The man at the reception was almost rude and did not want to apologise or explain why there was no water. We had not noticed the paper on the desk in our room informing us about the water cut. We would have expected nicer service from the receptionist. - Also, after the hotel restaurant closed in the evening, no food was available at all. No room service. - No honey at breakfast (for the tea). Only sugar. Turkey cold cuts ran out and were not available for at least 2 mornings. The mozzarella slices were dry and rubbery.

Review 119:- The room was beautiful with big windows and a balcony facing the street. There was also a kitchenette in our room (with a microwave, a little stove, fridge and cutlery) and we found it very convenient! - The breakfast was very good in general. The selection on the first morning was excellent. We especially enjoyed the fresh bread and fresh fruit. - The staff at the reception were helpful. The hotel was very clean and the beds were super comfortable with huge pillows!

Review 120:breakfast buffet was extra if not included before, room is kinda small, very slow wifi :(

Review 121:decent beds, small kitchenette, lots of shelf space, fruit flavored water in lobby

Review 122:We found the "superior" double room allocated to be very small we had to squeeze past each other. It was only after we saw that the cheaper "comfort" room next door was much larger and otherwise just as good that the reception staff responded helpfully to our request to be moved.

Review 123:Comfortable room, quiet area, useful laundry facilities, good breakfast professional and helpful staff.

Review 124:Most male staff were rude but we are7 English lads so maybe the still hold a grudge

Review 125:Clean, female staff very nice and friendly rooms were nice and food was nice

Review 126:a few staff quite unfriendly!!! a female staff from reception was not nice at all, she was quite incompetent... and one of the breakfast waitresses was complaining about the guest all the time and cursing in her own language

Review 127:hotel close to underground station, breakfast very good

Review 128:The 3rd bed was just tugged in and the person in the middle would have to jump into it. No real legroom around the 3 cramped beds. I was unlucky getting a room close to the elevator, and the sound isolation not good, so all night I could listen to people getting on or off the elevator. Also when people knocked in a close by room it felt they were knocking on my room's door. The buffet was split among the different halls with different things in each hall, so needed to do a lot of moving around through some small doors always with other folks moving around getting their stuff. This was not very practical, probably if smaller servings in each buffet table in each hall would nullify this inconvenience. Just one coffe machine in one of the smaller halls did not enable a good coffee serving. At payment I got a big disappointment. Although the hotel belonged to air miles program, they did not credit any miles given that my booking was from booking.com and not booked directly. This was the first time ever that I did not get air miles for booking through booking.com

Review 129:The hotel is of very good and comfortable construction with, nice common spaces and nice modern yet comfortable decoration. I got a 3 bedroom apartment, nicely furnished. The beds were comfortable, so for a 2 bed bedroom this would be more adjusted. The breakfast halls nice and with a buffet with a lot of good tasty food.

Review 130:-Clean -Friendly Staff -Lots of facilities (free wifi, iron board, instant coffee +kettle, shampoo) -Shops (Penny Markt), Restaurants & Subway station very near.

Review 131:Wifi wasn't the best in the rooms. Our room had an odd smell to it. The hotel was a few underground stops out with not much around it.

Review 132:A great and nice quality hotel for a low cost. The room was big and comfortably fit three. Far out, but close to an underground stop.

Review 133:The check in lady was a bit weird and unfriendly, the free wifi isn't very reliable, I would suggest paying the extra for work etc..

Review 134:Great location, only 2 stops from downtown. There's two Grocery stores right next door for bits and bobs. The underground is just 2 minutes away. Good value for money

The Fine Print
