Reviews for Hotel Madeleine Biohotel
Review 1:- No real additional service (fitness room, wellness space) - No equipment in the room (boiler, instant cofee or tea) - Lack of "Identity"
Review 2:- Nice central location - Modern and clean room - Correct breakfast (included in the price) - Reception open 24/7 and helpfull
Review 3:I didn't like the breakfast. But I don't like German breakfast in general. The juice and coffee were good none the less.
Review 4:I arrived after midnight and found the night receptionist exceptionally polite. He was there both nights over the weekend of October 17th. Arriving so late , I was afraid that I would be bothersome, but he was nice and helped me with the wi-fi and some directions, even drawing a map. Good staff is something I value, as I work in the customer service industry and know how important that is..
Review 5:very small room and it was bit colder, breakfast was ok but not exceptional; it is a bit pricier taking in account what is offered (but perhaps good price for the location)
Review 6:location is excellent, close to main station in the city centre (but quiet)
Review 7:The breakfast is otherwise pretty bread-based. If you want a nice pastry or something, you have to go out. Thin duvet.
Review 8:Nice single-person room with a lovely large window and comfortable bathroom, low cost, well organised. Very good bistro downstairs for tired eating. Eleven kinds of tea at breakfast.
Review 9:Dont be put off by the sat nav route through some of the back streets.
Review 10:A first experience of a BIO hotel, and its great. In terms of costs, great value. In the heart of the city, surprisingly quiet. Rooms are smallish but perfectly formed and well looked after. Great breakfast included. Would suggest that more English info be given (for English Speaking visitors) to the concept about the hotel and their aims.
Review 11:Nothing
Review 12:Very close to the city down town and at the back side of a church, convenient traffic and quiet. Some good restaurants around. The room is not too big but comfortable.
Review 13:Parking nearby is in expensive slots, with an all day car park some way away, so not ideal for motorists if you are just there for one night and plan to leave before 8 am.
Review 14:Surprisingly good breakfast with lots of choice of cereals, cheeses, meats, eggs etc plus homemade yogurt
Review 15:All the rooms are different and all the floors are decorated with different colors& palet, so go down the floors by the stairs and you can make a journey in deco !!! Amazing !!
Review 16:Small room for more than one night, approx 10-12 mp, no space for a big luggage, room was late to check in, no large lobby for waiting, no chairs in lobby.
Review 17:Room #15, good WIFI, big TV with satellite programs, lift, clean bathroom and room, quiet, breakfast quite ok, friendly staff, positioned OK, easy access to transport, close to the old city, 10 minutes from park and river.
Review 18:Breakfast was not rich enough and the room was a bit smaller than from the pictures.
Review 19:Very easy to find the location. Walking distance to shopping places, cafes abd restaurants. Very helpfull staff.
Review 20:The church bells may disturb some people. It was not a problem with earplugs in.
Review 21:The room on the 5th floor was large and comfortable with a balcony. The decor was modern and the room appeared to have recently been refurbished. Friendly and helpful staff. We've stayed 3 times now and it has always been excellent.

Review 24:So.. so! Hotel is nice, but the city have very very bad ecology!

Review 33:Breakfast with ample choice of biological foods
Review 34:The hotel is located at a spot where i would not feel comfortable to walk on my own during late night hours
Review 35:The room, the breakfast was superb, the location is perfect to walk into the historic city centre
Review 36:Very friendly and helpful staff. Good organic breakfast, also glutenfree, soy milk, and lactosefree milk. They even put little smiley faces on the eggs. Lots of nice rooms. The manager gave us a tour the last time we stayed there.
Review 37:a bit dark on the stairs from 4 th floor down perhaps lights not working?
Review 38:Very helpful reception staff, eg re parking nearby. Excellent breakfast, felt welcomed and would stay again. The 3 of us enjoyed our brief stay - thank you
Review 39:the view was nice, st johannes kirche, but all night drunk people passed by, screaming (probably not always, Saarbrucken were celebrating a city feast these dates).
Review 40:personnel very helpful simple, nicely furnished rooms
Review 41:Having read the fantastic reviews about this hotel, we had looked forward to staying here; however, it was rather a disappointment. What we hated most was that the hotel keeps its front door locked 24/7. So, you have to ring the doorbell to enter, have to wait for someone to come to the door (there was never anyone at reception), have to stand at the door while someone looks you up-and-down as if you are a criminal; then, hopefully, you look decent enough for the door to be opened; then, you have to give your name so that they can check if you are allowed in the hotel. We found this procedure very unpleasant, intrusive, indiscreet, and unexpected of a hotel of this price-range. If you are badly-dressed, looking a bit rough, or have any notion of inviting someone up to your room, you may want to think again. The hotel and reviews make much of the organic breakfast. We found it to be very uncomfortable, formal, and pretentious. Every food item has a card which describes what it is and verifies its “organic” origin – even the salt and pepper on the table had a card with a description! This was simply too much. Overall, we would not recommend this hotel nor stay there again. There are better, less pretentious, more relaxing, and much cheaper options in the city.
Review 42:On the plus side, the room was nice enough and included free wi-fi. However, apart from the bed, there was no place to sit (neither sofa nor chairs).
Review 43:The staff speak little English, which provided entertainment in the mornings! The hotel is situated next to Johanneskirche and, therefore, the bells were very loud in the mornings. However, they stop and start at a reasonable hour. Just don't expect a lie-in!
Review 44:The rooms were comfortable and the staff were friendly. The locality of the hotel is great. The breakfast was good.
Review 45:The church bells. But I got used to them and they added character!
Review 46:I loved this hotel. It was very very clean, with a lovely modern bathroom with a brilliant shower. The bed was firm and comfortable. Friendly helpful staff who spoke English. Great!
Review 47:Nothing. All good
Review 48:Exceptionally clean, very comfortable, perfect shower, friendly staff, nice breakfast. I go every year to this city and will always try to stay at this hotel
Review 49:Car Parking was a public car park some 150 meters away. Was never surehw safe car was, but could just be me being over cautious.
Review 50:Good Location, rooms clean and airy, right on the edge of Altstadt andminutes from centre. Good breakfast friendly staff
Review 51:the traffic noise from the main road 50 meters away, noisy and drunken people in the street, church bells directly opposite of the room in 5th floor, this all also during the night
Review 52:friendly and helpful staff, everything was clean, good breakfast, spacious balcony (suites on 5th floor)
Review 53:Can't praise this hotel enough. Room smallish but well designed, cleanand very comfortable. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfastgreat. A few steps from the old town and there's an excellent Japaneserestaurant next door.
Review 54:A shower curtain would have prevented the bathroom from getting flooded when showering!
