Reviews for Spa Hotel Schloss Weikersdorf

Review 1:The bathroom equipment is very old. The hair dryer barely had power and was barely warm. The water couldn't hold the temperature, which kept shifting, so you have to keep adjusting it. The spa area cannot be reached from the main building via some kind of a corridor because it is in a completely separate building. Not particularly relaxing, especially during cold seasons. The spa itself doesn't impress either. Almost no effort was spent there for an appealing design. It feels pretty clinical. The water in the pool is cold, there is no pool with warm water and no jacuzzi. One of the two "dry" saunas is scorching hot, the other one isn't warm enough to make you sweat. The spa area was so disappointing that we chose to spend our planned "spa day" in Vienna instead.

Review 2:It was interesting to stay in a "manor" this old, especially the interior of the lobby, the bar and the restaurant terrace is very nice. The breakfast is quite good with a big variety of choices - not a problem for vegetarians to eat well here at all. Same goes for the quality of the dinner - but be prepared for it to be pricy too.

Review 3:Not very convenient beds.Do not walk barefoot on the wooden flor, you can bring a splinter ))

Review 4:Good breakfest, very dood cooking. Normal WI-FI.Good parking. Friendly staff.

Review 5:Loved the location, scenery, stunning hotel, excellent service. Beautiful rooms. If it's good enough for the Italian national football team it was good enough for me!!

Review 6:Movies on demand (Pay per view) were not working, and all the beds (although queen size) have two mattresses.

Review 7:Big TV, great view, good hospitality, and photos that are on booking.com were exactly like the room

Review 8:Nothing

Review 9:Very comfortable well located hotel with excellent facilities. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet was very good and the room price good value. We have stayed here before and would stay again.

Review 10:Excellent services, professional staff, lot of activities, good SPA and pool, perfect location, amazing building and interiors. A very good choice in Baden.

Review 11:Nothing.

Review 12:Nice clean room. Good breakfast and good wifi. Friendly and professional staff. Lovely gardens and a beautiful town. Was easy to visit Vienna by tram. Good onsite parking. Had a great stay here and wished we could have stayed longer. Loved seeing squirrels in the gardens.

Review 13:The hotel is very beautiful, every view in the hotel is beautiful. Breakfast is very good: good bread, salmon, fresh sprouts, good cheese, all food in good quality, not standard. Spa is very relaxing. The rooms to the parc with a wonderful view and calm.

Review 14:Location, very peaceful and quiet. We had a very spacious room with equally spacious balcony overlooking the park - wonderful for early morning Yoga ! Obliging staff, provided us with a fan for the room straight away, as we were there during a hot spell - 35C, no air con. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, although I was suprised to see buffet being cleared at 10.15am, when breakfast was served until 11 !

Review 15:It was a bit confusing on the Booking.com site, because the room I chose had a picture of a bath tub, which was actually unavailable.

Review 16:Everything was fantastic. I had the room in the annex because I thought I would need a air-conditioner, but I rarely turned it on. Next time I would like to stay in the castle building.

Review 17:There was a night when we hardly got any sleep because there was a wedding celebration in the hotel. The music was very loud and went on until 2am. It felt more like a student residence rather than a SPA hotel. Another issue was that the moment you switch off the airconditionning in the room, it was getting extremely hot and stuffy even on cold days. So we either had to have the airconditionning on all the time or the window open.

Review 18:The surroundings of the hotel are beautiful. Nice park with a lake.

Review 19:Unfortunately the bar was closed on the day we were there due to under-staffing, which was disappointing. In previous visits, we have done local wine tastings in the bar and this was not possible. We did a wine tasting in the restaurant but were charged by the glass, which made it twice as expensive. The quality of the restaurant dinner was not as good as on previous visits and did not reflect the high price of the dishes.

Review 20:Beautiful hotel in a lovely location set on the edge of the park and a short walk into central Baden. The hotel is comfortable and staff are friendly. The spa facilities are very nice and relaxing - modern, comfortable and clean. Rooms are not luxurious but very comfortable. Breakfast is excellent.

Review 21:I got an upgrade to the superior room, which I have booked in a first place, but had to change the dates. It is a very high standard hotel with very professional and excellent service. The view from the balcony was outstanding. We had a lovely lunch there and wonderful cakes. Breakfast was superb. Our family joined us for a drink in the evening. I would recommend this hotel and would gladly return.

Review 22:Only street parking available, entrance and reception area does not look very welcoming (greenery not well groomed, dark, etc.), New building lacks atmosphere.

Review 23:Location, breakfast/terrace, old part of the building.

Review 24:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is quite lovely, located right next to the wonderful rose garden. The town centre and the Strandbad are reached easily on foot. My room was big, with a balcony overlooking the roses. The double bed was (as seen more and more often in hotels) actually two twins pushed together. The spa area is relatively small, but I had a very nice massage and sunbathed on the enclosed lawn.

Review 25:Everything was excellent - location, rooms, staff, everything, breakfast We lived at first in rezidenz spa and then in main building - everything was excellent.

Review 26:Breakfast was Poorly managed Water to buy at Hotel was 5 euros per .75ml Local spar was .45 cents for same make and 1.5lt Nothing open on sundays Rooms had no Air con

Review 27:Location History Spa (except soar staff)

Review 28:Personal and service, the SPA workers are unfriendly and dont do their job. I had a feeling that they are doing me a favor just talking to me. TERRIBLE.

Review 29:Garden is really nice and architecture is awesome.

Review 30:We liked everything about the hotel

Review 31:Excellent luxury hotel with first rate facilities (and breakfast) with very helpful staff and a most reasonable price. Delightful location and ambience.

Review 32:We liked everything

Review 33:Excellent value for money, beautiful location & very relaxing spa. The hotel staff were very friendly helping with bookings, taxis etc Although we only had breakfast on our 4 night stay the choice of food was fantastic

Review 34:Excellent location, quiet area but very close to centre and Casino. Beautiful view from the terrace, overlooking the Rosarium. Fantastic breakfast. Everything is at top standards here!

Review 35:Nothing related to the stay. However, prices cited in some reviews on internet had been significantly more attractive. It seems that there have been no special offers available for some time on booking.com for this hotel. Some reviewers mentioned that they parked on local streets but there are some places directly on the castle grounds.

Review 36:A very good option for a stay near Vienna during travelling. Close to highways. Exceptional location with a lovely rose garden and a park next to the castle. Historical building with a fine dining area with a terrace overlooking the garden. Very nice spa facilities with kind staff. Indoors swimming pool of a size expected in a hotel. There are several private parking spaces around the hotel which is important when travelling with a car. Wifi rather slow but working and included in the fee. Personnel keen and helpful.

Review 37:Beds were very hard and uncomfortable. They tried to give me room that was a level below what I paid for and then insisted that it was of the same size and quality. They did correct their mistake.

Review 38:Beautiful old castle and a wonderful city.

Review 39:Hotel is a bit far from the City, but this is its advantange. Place is quiet with a wonderful rose garden. We were enjoyable the breakfast time there.

Review 40:No bad experiences!

Review 41:The 'chance' was because we have friends there and found the town and the hotel to be quite beautiful. The setting in a rose garden could be part of your brochure description!!

Review 42:Our room door was not closed after the maid service cleaned our room and was left open until we returned eight hours later. Nothing was taken but we did report it to the front desk. No apology, just surprised concern.

Review 43:We reserved the small room at an excellent price and got just what we paid for, but be aware that small means you have about 2 feet between the bed and wall you need to pass through to get to the very large bathroom. Breakfast was excellent!

Review 44:I checked in on 4th of juny and the first night the temperature was so hot. I didn't imagine that Baden has such a high temperature on juny. Next morning when I woke up i saw that the heating was on all night long. Everything was just great ever since!

Review 45:Great hotel, very good breakfast, clean and cosy room! The great Rosarium just down stairs with more that 25000 roses. The morning perfume at the hotel's terrace (while having breakfast) it's just stunning! I recommand it!

Review 46:Breakfast was rather poor for an expensive hotel like this one, no variety of cheese, yogurt, vegetables and jam. Still, nice tea selection and bread, scrambled eggs were also very good. No air-conditioning.

Review 47:Spa facilities, location, rosarium.

Review 48:Even though the spa has extraordinary lounges (for example, they put together a lounge outside, in the garden, next to a small river that crosses Baden), I somehow felt that the water-related options were missing (no watter massage beds and such)

Review 49:The location is incredible. Just imagine having breakfast in the castle's large balcony, seeing the rose garden in front of view. The best part yet? You also get to see the sunrise whilst having breakfast.

Review 50:The beds made a squeeky noise every time one of us moved.

Review 51:As soon as you get in, you see the luxurious feel that place have. Leather furniture, ancient wooden tables. Very impressive! The staff is very nice and helpful.

Review 52:The only think I would maybe recommend to improve is to have more light in the room, it was a bit dark at times and the existing lights were rather small.

Review 53:I stayed over a long weekend for 3 nights, the room was quite large and spacious with a lot of space for luggage. The staff was always helpful and honest (which you don't get anywhere). The breakfast was included in the package price and was really good. The area surrounding the hotel is really great, large gardens, big oak trees, many paths to walk through, and the town itself is very easy to navigate and has some excellent restaurants. I ate once in the hotel's restaurant and the food was excellent, it is just a bit pricy but it is expected after all. If you want to spend some relaxation time in a nice quiet little town, this is the place to go.

Review 54:The temperature of the water in the shower changed every minute from boiling hot to ice cold. Even though the pastries at the breakfast buffet were ready out of stock at 9 am, there was no refill.

Review 55:Free bathrobes.

Review 56:Great value for money, we had a room for just €75 but it was more than we expected, very comfortable, very friendly helpful staff, lovely building. Great facilities too (indoor pool, saunas, steam room, etc) Would definitely go there again!

Review 57:The restaurant..the staff.. The services at resturant were..incredibly..For a 4 stars. We were with some friends (a young couple wth a kid). Ina morning, at brekfast, we did sitting at 6 six person table (we were 5persons) an a waiter asked to stand up and go..because was a 6 persontable. It was no other free table. After we had talked at lobby theproblem was solved. For pool I had bought 2 slippers ..for me and mygirlfriend.. From hotel..and after a day the housekipper took from ourroom. Our friends had bigger problems.. They had lost a concert inVienna because at dinner the waiter had said was no free table.. Aftertaking at lobby, they found that there were free tables in therestaurant.. To late for concert.. Is a beutiful hotel.. But stuff.. Isa nightmare

Review 58:The hotel, location, facilietes..

Review 59:New glass door --> thin and leaky door bathroom a bit confining Breakfast: too many people too few chairs, just filter coffee Staff was a bit uneasy and reserved

Review 60:Spa. Spa. Spa.

Review 61:Wellness and swimming pool is in another building, you have to walk outside in cold wheather. Attention was not drawn to this in the description.

Review 62:Wonderful old building with nice atmosphere, comfortable rooms. Good breakfast. Nice wellness facilities.

Review 63:The hotel (or Booking.com) Secured a payment transfer at the arrival and when we left I paid for the stay.... Now 5 days later I still see on my account that I paid twice... This is really not a way to do this, given the amount we spend... More than 600 Euros. Unacceptable !!!

Review 64:- limited choice for the kid's menu - you need to reserve a table for the dinner, otherwise you may miss it - relatively small swimming pool

Review 65:- friendly personnel - cosy rooms - tasty breakfasts - good location, close to the lake and a park - spa center It takes a 50 min ride by tram from Baden to go directly to Vienna Center

Review 66:Food was overprized given the mediocre quality e.g. at breakfast fresh orange juice tasted like canned one, very few vegetarian friendly meals, mixed quality of meals, ... Water in the shower didn't warm up completely At night when it was snowing there was an annoying noise (probably water dripping somewhere) Some costs at the Spa were intransparent

Review 67:Close to the city Beautiful garden, large room, romantic (almost "kitsch") setting Spa Prize was fair given the room size

Review 68:We loved this, we travel to Europe just before Christmas to go to the Christmas markets. This hotel was great really nice staff, spoke great English. and the restaurant was very nice also.

Review 69:SPA area separated from the main hotel building. Few details of the corridors and rooms should be updated. Pre authorisation amount blocked on the credit card for long time.

Review 70:Location, breakfast, Sauna area

Review 71:There is a bowling possibility there - that's very old, not serviced and extremely expensive. Plus if you wanna play, you must book the place in advance one day before.

Review 72:Very good breakfast with big spectrum (scrambled eggs, juices, ...). Wellness part is professional.

Review 73:A bit overcrowded with tour-busses and conventions.Staff friendly, but extreme busy.Still the service did not lack effort.

Review 74:We booked the Dependancce- it was quiet, newer than the hotel itself with the Spa right below on the main-floor. We shall come again.

Review 75:- Too expensive a la cart menu - Lack of directional signage at the road

Review 76:- Convenient location if you're traveling to Graz - Value for money - Lovely historical park - Decent breakfast

Review 77:High price Room average Hotel looks old now Bathroom was not completely 4* clean

Review 78:Great breakfast Great location, beautiful surroundings Wellness is okay but without atmosphere

Review 79:It would be nice to change the old TV sets in the rooms and have more TV channels.

Review 80:Excellent spa facilities, rich breakfast, perfect location, friendly and helpful staff.

Review 81:The hotel is right next to a wonderful garden/park that is very tranquil. We had a wonderful time simply walking in the park. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were helpful and courteous.

Review 82:Definitively the staff service is realle bad and poor and should be improved! Very unprofessional at the restaurant and the bar. The staff doesen't know whoto serve and treat the clients. Really bad, young and without any guide.

Review 83:The structure in general but...

Review 84:They call it "spa" and they have absolutely no idea what it is. It reminds me more a medical facility with a lot of light, constant noise, cold hands... So there is absolutely no atmosphere of the spa. 'Facial' lady is much much better though. So if your goal is to relax and have nice massage that's not the place. In the restaurant (at least during breakfast time) there are some rather rude waitresses.

Review 85:The surroundings are excellent, staff at the reception is very polite.

Review 86:Relaxed atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff; many of whom had a good knowledge of English. The hotel is situated within the Rosarium, so it felt like the whole park was the hotel's 'back garden'!

Review 87:The mattress was a touch firmer than I like but that is being 'picky'.

Review 88:The building style is beautiful. Rooms are clean and modern. The staff were extremely pleasant and attentive. The wellness/spa area is spotless and modern with a secluded garden to worship the sun.

Review 89:The hotel is situated in a wonderful location, the rose garden is very beautiful and is great to serve breakfast on the hotel terrace - very calming sight. Speaking of breakfast, it is very tasty and varied for all tastes and preferences. Town of Baden is also a very beautiful, full of life, very clean. Well preserved parks where walking is pleasant and relaxing Various restaurants, terraces and shops.

Review 91:Great hotel

Review 92:the atmosfera of old castle in the hall and brekfast restorant, good staff

Review 93:difficult to have dinner, despite more than half empty restaurant we could not receive dinner

Review 94:From the entire very polite and helpful staff, there was one man, who was the extreme opposite

Review 95:Great value for the money.

Review 96:Food at restaurant in the evening was not the hit.

Review 97:Rich Breakfast

Review 98:Out of date Bathroom mould on edges Bad lighting in the room good value

Review 99:Spa

Review 101:The staff was very nice and friendly, specially the restaurant staff!

Review 102:Room received in SPA building was very noisy and we could not rest because of weding ceremony until 4 am. I will never stay at this hotel.
