Reviews for B&B Hotel Saarbrücken-Hbf

Review 1:A better breakfast choice would have been nice - I'm vegan so couldn't eat anything! Also the single deflated pillow was a bit rubbish, but I didn't actually ask for another one so they might have fixed it if I had.

Review 2:Very conveniently located, pretty much right next to the train station and therefore the city centre. My room was very clean, the WIFI worked (unusual for a top floor room!) and the room seemed very quiet (although the vast quantities of beer consumed during my trip may have helped me sleep...).

Review 3:Need conventional suitcase rack..not round stool. Shelves good. Shower height not adjustable, good counter space by sink.

Review 4:Location near station, price, clean, like new.

Review 5:Nothing bad about the hotel.

Review 6:A nice modern, clean and tidy room and hotel. A great location near to the train station with friendly staff and reasonable prices. Would stay here again.

Review 7:Hotel quite difficult to locate. Receptionist seemed to dislike having to interact at all! Would obviously prefer if everyone used self-check-in. Unhelpful regarding wifi password etc.

Review 8:Clean and pleasant room. Good value. Drinks dispensing machine had good choice and well-stocked. Particularly helpful as hotel out of town.

Review 9:Arrived mid afternoon to find reception closed & had to use an automated reception machine. I put in my name but it was not recognised. So I tried the booking reference number. This didn't work either. I tried several times to no avail (booking not recognised it kept saying). I eventually called the number listed outside. Lady said have you made a mistake when entering details? No, I know how to spell my name & can count to 10. She said come back at 5 pm when reception opens. Luckily it was sunny outside so I waited. Not what I expected. When I eventually booked in I was given a room on the first floor above the reception even though I had asked for a quiet room on the upper floors! Well done to B&B Hotels for listening to their customer requests. Usual nonsense with wifi having to give your mobile number then getting a text message with pass number then trying to input that in your mobile phone. Wifi connection was very poor when I eventually logged on. I get better wifi on my local buses back in England!

Review 10:Good location a short walk from station. Decent sized room & a comfortable bed. Overall good value for money. Shame about the booking in experience & poor wifi.

Review 11:Great location. Area around the train station is actually clean, modern and one feels comfortable and secure making the very short walk to the hotel. Pedestrian zone and stores all on other side of train station. Made it easy to get to surrounding areas like Luxembourg and Strasbourg.

Review 12:LIft was in repair, but problem was solved within 2 hours - can happen.

Review 13:The place was easy to reach (updated gps, because the road is within a new part of the city just behind the railway station) and conveniently placed. Room was clean and large enough. Personnel was very friendly and helpful. Silent despite immediate proximity to the main train station.

Review 14:no hot water available. not enough parking slot The hotel name is B&B, but breakfast is not included and need to pay extra.

Review 15:can check in by yourself 24hours

Review 16:Smelt bad of smoke all over hotel. Floor was dirty. Mould in bathroom and cigarette burns in shower. No one to help check in just a machine .

Review 17:The wi fi was fast and the location was good near motorway.

Review 18:Staff were gone after 10pm so no way of asking for anything. Breakfast was abit expensive for 7.5 euros each. Wifi was hard to get working and when it did work, the signal was really bad

Review 19:Clean, windows opened wide, breakfast was nice, well positioned hotel, had parking

Review 20:The b+b hotel in saarbrucken (germany) is well situated, for convinience, walks along the saar river, restaurants and hundreds of shops, includingC&A and if you like to travel on public transport, well equipped, limited parking spaces for the size of the hotel but a multi storepublic car park is right next to it.

Review 21:The room was small, there was no place to put two suitcases.

Review 22:Hotel is clean, conveniently located and a good value for money. It is a good hotel if you are in transit and only need to spend one night.

Review 23:I forgot my credit card pin number and the owner shouted at me with anger. The front desk is not always open, and had I not seen a employee passing by I could not have had a room for the night. The breakfast was just bread and ham, very light and everything is tiny. If you come from the west then be advised.

Review 24:The location is really handy. Most of the people that work there are nice, just not the owner.

Review 25:Although the parking was free it was limited, we were lucky and found a space but others had to park on the road

Review 26:A really good value for money hotel, free parking, staff very helpful

Review 27:The location was good because it was close to the station, the acconditioning was really good! Especially because it was so hot during our stay. Apart from that it was an average experience. Nothing to complain about, nothing to get excited about. Bang on average.

Review 28:The front desk girl came across a bit curt - almost rude. People were having a tough time connecting on the Internet and were asking about it. I think she was getting frustrated

Review 29:The place was at the train station however out the back entrance and about 2 doors down. The problem was getting to the other side of the train tracks. We had a tandem bike and 2 normal bikes. Taking th thru the train station was not fun with all the stairs. It turns out if we went 1 block away from (perpendicular to) the train station from the hotel, turned left and then left again there was a nice little pedestrian tunnel that worked great. Room was clean, practically laid out and well priced. They had no problem finding a safe place for our bikes. We had problems getting on the internet because it requires a mobile number where you must include a + before the country code. After we got that it was fine.

Review 30:No complains, just a tip. For business people to work in the hotel there should be organised a separate cafe/place to work on laptop, I think. The breakfast room (the only cafe) was closed during the weekend. I had to work in the room, and had to wait for the cleaning lady to clean my room. The separate entrance coffee place is not applicable for working (guests are coming and leaving every 2-3 minutes). Thanks for understanding!

Review 31:I stayed here for the 4th or 5th time. I am really glad I did the same choice this time. I liked everything!

Review 32:Just everything. We arrived and felt hungry and to our delight we could order a pizza for a small fee which was brought up to our room by the staff. Good amounts of parking and Wi Fi is great and free.

Review 33:I wanted a non smoking room , the whole room smelt of smoke , for someone who does t smoke it was bad .

Review 34:The stay in the hotel was good , breakfast was lovely self service .

Review 35:We stayed in a triple room with our two young children. It really was one disappointment after another. Our room smelled overwhelmingly like cigarette smoke. We opened the windows, it didn't help. The beds are rock hard and the pillows are limp and sad. Woke up with my neck and back killing me. Never could get the wifi to work, despite entering and re-entering the password that I received via text. There's no kettle or coffee maker in the room, leaving you to dig through pockets for coins for watery "coffee" from the vending machine in the lobby or paying an absurd price for breakfast. At one point, I had to lift the mattress on the lower bunk bed to adjust the sheet and found the bottom of the mattress spotted with mold. Disgusting. Wouldn't stay here again if you paid me.

Review 36:Location is convenient to the train station.

Review 37:Bad wifi connection (3rd floor) Double bed with individual blankets Staff doesnt look confortable speaking english. (except for the recepcionist at the check-out) Anyone can access the parking.

Review 38:Location, free parking

Review 39:Expensive breakfast A little far to walk from city center Signing up to yet another spam service to use the free wifi

Review 40:Free parking Free wifi (although you have to sign up) Automated check-in if you arrive late

Review 41:Slightly small room

Review 42:We were just grateful that something was available on Christmas Eve (in order to catch a train the following day.) It meant we were given an electronic keypad code in order to open the hotel and our room door. Needless to say, everything was ready for us, clean and comfortable in a compact room. Wifi worked, etc

Review 43:TV needed more international channels.

Review 44:Shower was amazing as was the shampoo dispenser they had for visitors to use. Riim was clean and very well organized.

Review 45:Found it a little disturbing travelling on foot to find the hotel location especially in the dark. Some noise from trains at night.

Review 46:Very clean, generous sized shower, comfortable bed, attentive staff. Would book breakfast next time as looked good value. Recommend highly.

Review 47:after hours and on Sundays the hotel is w/o any employess, you check in with your card automatically. If you have any problem then you it can't be solve

Review 48:I was given a smokers room and I had to argue a lot before they have agreed to replace it with a non smokers room. The receptionist claimed that I did not indicate what kind of room I need, therefore they have reserved for me a smoer's room, this is odd!!!

Review 49:Would always like a folding suit case rack. Only one mushy pillow. Light not good for reading in bed. Could not get on the Internet..would not take password, plus why send the password to a cell phone? I had a French number that didn't work. Just tell the customer what the password is!

Review 50:Every thing was new and clean. I liked the shelves for easy storage. Liked the size of the bathroom counter, also nice shower and plenty hot water.

Review 51:Breakfast was not worth 7.5 Euros

Review 52:Cheap and clean accommodation. Location exactly behind the DB Central railway station. But did not use train facility and hence not sure how close is the entrance to railway station.

Review 53:After hours check-in instructions were not clearly displayed.

Review 54:I was pleased to be given a room on the ground floor with a bathroom with facilities suitable for a Senior

Review 55:The parking lot is not big enough for the hotel's capacity. If you stay on Friday or Saturday night with a car, you will probably have to park on the street, and there are parking meters that are enforced from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. M-F and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The hotel clerk who explained this situation to me didn't understand English very well when I asked her to confirm that I needed to get up at 8 a.m. on Saturday to feed the meter or move my car. Or there's a public parking garage next door that charges much more. For getting to the main part of town, I found a pedestrian tunnel under the train station using Google Maps but it was very seedy and smelled like urine, and it wasn't until our last day there that we discovered that there was a north entrance to the train station on the other side of the expensive parking garage, and that we could just cut through the train station that way, which was much cleaner than the tunnel.

Review 56:Reasonably priced for how close it is to the middle of town. You can cut through the train station and come out a block away from a good-sized pedestrian mall with shopping and restaurants.

Review 57:It's very close to the trainstation. You can check in during the night with the check in machine that it's pretty easy to use. Check out untill 12.00

Review 58:In spite of it's location in an office area, there was some. "Party" noise.

Review 59:Nice room, breakfast room and staff. Good wifi. A/C worked well.

Review 60:A bit too expensive. You have to give your phone number to access the WiFi. The breakfast: they could include more fruits and vegetables. People eatiing refined food and sweets won't have a problem.

Review 61:The rooms are quiet, clean, and comfortable.

Review 62:5 minutes walk away the railway station, and there is a big supermarket on the other side of rail. The decoration in the room is lovely, it's train pincture

Review 63:I think I could have used the next size up in the room choice because I am large and had large bags. Not their fault

Review 64:Closeness to bahnhof, clean, and staff

Review 65:There were two key things that went wrong with me: management and WiFi connection. In detail: They have a not so friednly registration system. The management claim to be there during particular times, and if you do not arrive in those times, you have to proceed to an automatic registration. For which, you have to pay with a debit or credit card. This is thought for European travellers, mainly. I took cash so I had to wait until the manager checked me in. Anyways, someone else came to the hotel and did this automatic checking and I could wait inside. However, the nasty thing is that the manager saw me (he was there) and then proceeded to check me in. He was upset because it was out of the pre-stablished times. I paid cash, accordingly. His manners are also quiet unconfortable. I did not know if was a culture barrier, or he was really nasty. So, my first warning is that you have to be aware of the arrival time. If you bring cash and arriva at midnight, for example, you might sleep in the saloon, if you are lucky. Moreover, the internet connection. To gain access you need to have a mobile phone. So you can get a key and connect. I did not have one, thus the manager had to arrange it for me. But your key is bounded to a phone number. I think this sort of a system is preposterous and also infringe your privacy. The signal was unstable and I would say bad. It is free subject to you phone. From my humble point of view, the hotel is focused on German travellers who might be used to deal with such a system, and it is unfriendly to travellers from other places.

Review 66:The facilities were very clean. They cleaned my room every day. The location is good, close to the main pedestrian street and big gallerie. You can access the train station is one minute. Apart from the manager, staff members were very kind, and ready to help. Towels, blankets were clean. Good space.

Review 67:We asked for a non-smoking room but got a smoker's room instead, smell was very strong! Upon automated check-in at 22h no staff available to discuss this matter with. We also had no soap available in the bathroom. Matrass was very uncomfortable!

Review 68:Location is ok for travellers in transit, conveniently located next to highway and main train station. Rooms are soundproof.

Review 69:Both rooms reserved were so clogged in smoking smell that we felt it all the night, even if we kept the windows wide open. Unhealthy, especially for children.

Review 70:Very clean and friendly, good breakfast. Interesting you get a code for a room key and to let you late at night. While a bit of a walk from the restaurant/bar area, a good stay.

Review 71:All the hotel. Car park

Review 72:Breakfast started late.

Review 73:Easy in and out. We use this hotel as a pit stop.

Review 74:near hbf

Review 89:Horrible location - nobody warned that there is a trainstation Just behind the hotel... Got about one hour of sleep during the night...

Review 90:Really basic place similar price to a UK premier Inn but poorer on all fronts.

Review 91:Quick access to the centre of town

Review 92:Very good value for money. Located just next to the main train station, about 15 minutes walk to St Johanner Markt. Staff was nice and helpful.

Review 93:very comfi, spacy despite the four on us. fabulous breakfast

Review 94:very good!

Review 95:The little kid liked a lot the bunk bed but it's still a bit unsafe for a 7-year-old to sleep on the upper deck.

Review 96:Very clean and tidy room.

Review 97:Good location, close to the center of the village. Good breakfast

Review 98:We would recommend this hotel and we are going to stay there again

Review 99:The soap was finished as there was no one at the reception after 22:00, we could not get a refill.

Review 100:Location

Review 101:A/C was out for a few hrs one day out of 6

Review 102:Location, price and quietness

Review 103:It was very hot at the beginning of our stay in Saarbrucken. The room was very comfortable and cool because the air conditioning worked well.

Review 104:the place is easy to find and nicely organized. No surprises.

Review 105:No facilities, couldn't even get hot water

Review 106:Room was clean but small, walking distance to the city centre

Review 108:Wifi was complicated to access.

Review 109:Proximity to town, good parking, fairly compact but well designed bright room.

Review 110:Location to saabrucken centre and it had safe free parking at the rear of the hotel plus easy access to the train station

Review 111:Clean, comfortable room, though not luxurious. The windows do a great job of blocking out the noise from the trains.

Review 112:Breakfast is too expensive.

Review 113:Staff is very nice and helpful.

Review 114:Close to train station, clean hotel.... Beds are really firm

Review 115:Room smelt strongly of smoking? Had to keep window open.
