Review 1：Snappish and unfriendly receptionist. Definitely the worst customer experience I ever had in a hostel and I stayed in many... The moment we walked in we felt unwelcome and I was slightly embarrassed in front of my guests. Considering the price (especially when above 27 years of age, add another 12 bucks!) and the fact that you have to leave a deposit to get a window blind, need to make your own beds etc. we definitely will stay in a hotel next time.

Review 2：Facilities are very clean and well maintained. Room was ok, clean. Breakfast quite good for a hostel.

Review 4：It doesn't mention that you need to pay for a membership in the booking system . Otherwise a "cheap" trip is so underestimated! We pay 403€ for 3 rooms , in a hostel!!!!!!

Review 6：Is not very clear that you have to paid 3.5 euros to become "member" of the HI, and also if you say it is a hostel I think it should have a kitchen or something like it... But it didn't. Is perfect for families, but is not specified.

Review 11：We had a family room with six beds and we shared the bathroom with the other rooms in the hall...the beds were very comfortable and clean, the bathroom was clean and adequate, the staff were VERY friendly and helpful, and the food was perfect for what we needed. Fresh fruit, coffee, rolls and meat and cheese...very good, with the option to make a sack lunch for a small price, perfect for a day skiing.

Review 30：Regina at the front desk is a gem! Wonderful hospitality at an otherwise solid family hostel made all the difference. The included breakfast was basic but good (coffee was extra) and they offered both dinner and lunch options at reasonable prices (we did not try either, but they looked appetizing). Excellent location as well in easy walking distance to Lindau island and the train station.

Please note that guests staying at the HI Youth Hostel Lindau must be members of Hostelling International (HI). Guests who are not members can purchase membership on arrival.International guests pay EUR 3.50 per person per night for a welcome stamp. Guests under 27 pay a yearly membership of EUR 7. Older members pay EUR 22.50 per year.
