Reviews for Hotel De Lange Man Monschau Eifel
Review 1:beautiful location, but further away from Monschau then I expected; time to check in was exactly 3 pm and staff was not in a hurry and made us wait a bit long
Review 2:family hotel, warm welcome when you enter the hotel through the cafe; beautiful view from the room on the church
Review 3:We arrived just over one hour early, but although the hotel was like the Marie Celeste we weren't allowed to check in until 3pm. We didn't realise at the time of booking how far out of Monschau the hotel was (we were visiting friends staying there) but the drive wasn't too bad, and as it was a Friday and a very rainy day we were able to park right in the centre of Monschau. Breakfast was ok but we have had better.
Review 4:Hotel was in a nice position with fields at the back
Review 5:They do not accept Visa or Mastercard only Maestro which I do not have. I had to get the entire cost of my stay out from a cash machine
Review 6:Generally a very good hotel. Pleasant staff, Well decorated. Very attractive little lounge. We didn't use any of the leisure facilities since this was a stay in December
Review 7:That someone came at 10:40 in the morning to tell us we have leave the room. Was really unpolite.
Review 8:Nice location, good food, clean, comfortabel room. Good price.
Review 9:Due to the fact that the Hotel was fully booked , WiFi was a little slow at times .
Review 10:Clean and comfortable with friendly staff . Property was well maintained.
Review 11:no 24 hours reception. We had to leave at 6:00 o'clock but tgere was noone to check out. So we had to drop the roomkey in a mailbox. Wifi connection is poor.
Review 12:The wifi was not very good, we had a hard time connecting. The shower was very slippery. My elderly friend had to put a towel on the floor to keep from slipping. Perhaps one or two grab bars would help too.
Review 13:We were greeted personally by a staff member who took the time to explain the facilities and the surrounding area. The staff was friendly and helpful. The staff spoke both German, English and Dutch...was helpful since we were Dutch and American guests.
Review 14:Confirmed Comfort Double Room was overbooked when we checked in, and we and had to settle for an apartment in another building for 2 nights. Lots of space, not needed by us.
Review 15:Sauna was too small! Only for two people. It was free only between 14h-16h, the rest you have pay! It wasn't mentioned when we booked.Very basic furnishing of the room. It was too expensive for what it is. Most of the Informations were not in English. We tried call the hotel about some information in advance but no one picked the phone.
Review 16:No telephones in the bedroom (for emergency calls or contacting hotel staff), no fans in bathrooms, need to replace hooks with towel rails (towels did not dry & were not changed during our 3 day stay), no tea/coffee making facilities, no toiletries (apart from soap dispensers), lift only goes to the first floor, only one very soft pillow provided.
Review 17:Friendly multilingual staff, easy access to Monschua, good food and facilities, free parking, quiet location, well stocked bar and good value for money.
Review 18:Nothing
Review 19:We were very pleased with both the welcome and warmth of the staff throughout the stay. Tom (GUUS), in particular helped us greatly through the stay providing information and advice. Our room was excellent, large and stylish. (the Irish coffees are superb)
Review 20:Location needs to be identified more clearly as it is not in the heart of Monschau village itself but at Rohren. Therefore transport required as not within walking distance but a few kilometers away.
Review 21:Surprised that Visa card was not accepted and I was asked to pay cash. I confirmedthe booking using Visa. Strange.
Review 22:Very quite village, very relaxing
Review 23:From the 1st greeting to the last goodbye
Review 24:friendly large property - plenty of room very comfortable
Review 25:Apartment was very handy for two couples travelling together.
Review 26:Buffet evening meal not of highest quality.
Review 27:Friendly welcome. Staff approachable. Large room. Spotlessly clean.
Review 28:not being able to pay with visa card. cash only.
Review 29:ideal location for our visit to spa circuit for racing , lovely staff , exellent food.

Review 33:Loved it, would stay again. Buffet dinner was delicious.
Review 34:Quite and comfortable near to market
Review 35:The location, we had to take a taxi back and forward every day we wanted to go Monschau city. 3 days costed us more than 100 Euro.
Review 36:Activities
Review 37:Free welcome drink. Introduction by a staff member. Local walks. Good evening buffet. Rural location.
Review 38:Super personnel!
Review 39:Everything
Review 40:We stayed here one night and left the staff were rude. The food awful and substandard facilities. ..
Review 41:Friendly host interacts with guests to ensure a pleasent stay. Staff speak english
Review 42:Bit dusty. Hotel in evolution : f.e. modern rooms, but bathroom dating from the sixties. A bit overpriced.
Review 43:Nice and very helpfull staff, the evening buffet is value for money. Nice room, pleasant library. Fresh orange juice at breakfast.
Review 44:There is nothing I didn't like.
Review 45:The hotel is very clean, the staff are excellent, and make an effort to help. The area is great for touring. The buffet breakfast and evening meal are well worth having, and there is always so much to choose from. As well as the hot tub etc, there is also a bowling alley, which was great fun to play with friends.
Review 46:Nothing.
Review 47:We were unexpectedly upgraded to a family room which made our stay great. The hotel was lovely and the breakfast was outstanding. Would love to stay again.
Review 48:The staff were friendly, and helpful. The rooms were fairly large and always clean, and the food was lovely. Breakfast buffet was great. The surrounding area was beautiful, and it was in an excellent situation for sightseeing.
Review 49:Would of liked tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Needed low music in the dining room you could hear a pin drop!
Review 50:Hotel was very clean and staff were friendly and helpful we went to the Spa Grand Prix and it took about half an hour from Hotel. Beautiful location very peaceful and green!
Review 51:Rather off beaten track especially as main road from motorway was closed.Would have preferred non buffet style meal in evening but otherwise food was good
Review 52:Friendly staff and comfortable room.Good breakfast.
Review 53:I know this is a Dutch hotel but maybe a little more English info would have been nice
Review 54:staff were great, owner likewise... all we very welcoming and the quality of the food was fantastic (were prepared to expect the worst when we realised that supper was a buffet but this fear was unfounded, top top place)
Review 55:The rooms could do with some soundproofing. Once scraping of chairs and closing of curtains had stopped we had a wonderful nights sleep.
Review 56:The service from all the staff was excellent. A very friendly hotel. Highly recommend
Review 57:No hot water in the morning! Hotel was full so it tells me their system can't cope. We had 4 inches of snow, when tols we requested to help clear cars out no help or tools were offered. Once you pay all nice touches seem to stop. Bar very overpriced, I paid 6Euro for less than 50cl water
Review 58:It was close enough to Monschau but I would stay closer if a hotel was available.
Review 59:There was nothing that I did not like, but you have to be aware that their evening buffet finishes at 8.00 p.m. (which is early for us) and they dont have much on offer in the way of evening meals. However, there is a steak/pizza/pasta restaurant down in the so called main town which is very basic but the food is spot on (close to the main church). We had a nice spag bowl and steak. Also the bathroom in our room was rather dated but it was clean and the water was lovely and hot!
Review 60:We chose to stay here because we were going to the Grand Prix. Our Sat Nav took us what felt like the back route to this Hotel and we thought we were in the middle of no where, until... this beautiful village location appeared and we were very impressed. It is so quaint, quiet (apart from the church bells but what a nice sound), beautiful and an absolute perfect stay.
Review 61:Ben greeted us at the reception and our wonderful break began withwelcome drinks. The staff could not do enough to make us all feel athome and relaxed. The rooms were immaculate and the atmosphere warm andcosy. The Chef who has experience of Thai cusine cooked us a specialsurprise dinner after discussing with us a selection of meat, fish orvegetarian dishes.Exceptional value for money. We will book anotherweekend here for sure and a friend who I have recommended should visit, has already booked to go for her Anniversary with her husband. Thesurrounding towns and villages have plenty to offer, good food, goodwine and shopping. The countryside superb for walkers and people whowish to connect with nature. I am sure any one visiting this hotel willnot be disappointed;.
Review 62:It is definitely a Dutch hotel with everything including the tv, dailybulletin and hiking guides in Dutch. But each staff member knew enoughEnglish to explain anything we needed and worked hard with us to make usfeel comfortable. We were there over New Years and wish we would haverequested a room farther from the bar as the fun was quite loud andhaving a small child we were not able to participate nor able to sleep.
