Hotel Warteck sells fast on our site. In the Black Forest spa resort of Freudenstadt, this family-run hotel offers rooms with cable TV and free Wi-Fi. It is a short walk from Freudenstadt's market square.

Review 1：Wonderful family run Hotel in the center of town. Lovely big modern rooms, great breakfast and a fantastic restaurant, probably the best in Freudenstadt!!

Review 2：Nothing. If you are on the top (3rd) floor, there is no lift, so either request a lower room or be prepared for a few stairs.

Review 3：The welcome was excellent. The management seperated the beds for us without any question or charge. The breakfast was top quality. Beds were comfy. Location perfect.

Review 4：The furniture in the room where we stayed was not very modern but it was comfortable and super clean. Nothing negative, really.

Review 6：It was hot when we visited in early-July. The windows could be opened, but the room was facing the main street and noisy in the evening. One small fan was provided, which did help somewhat. Fortunately, the road noise was less from about 2200 - 0600. WiFi didn't work too well. Sometimes I had to go out into the hall to connect with their system - then I could return to the room to use it.

Review 11：The welcoming staff. Excellent service and attention to needs. The fruit at breakfast was delicious. The hotel is well located for exploring the town and within a short walk of the start of some lovely walks in The Black Forest.

Review 12：The hotel was very comfortable and a great location in the centre of the town. All the staff were very friendly and always happy to help. We travelled on motorcycles and there was an area behind to park our bikes.

Review 15：Parking was tricky. The hotel advertises "free public parking is possible on site - no reservation needed" but a word of warning: there are a few spaces behind the hotel but the car park is cramped with littered with items that have been thrown out. We were travelling in a large VW transporter and this car park was totally unsuitable. There is free parking in front of the hotel on the road side which is good if there is space available. We eventually parked the van opposite the hotel where it is free from 6pm - 9am. Generous spaces, room to manoeuvre The only drawback is that you have to remember to feed the meter at 9am the next morning.

Review 16：The hotel is on the main road within a walkable distance to the town square. Our room had extra glazing put in to dampen the traffic noises from the road. Dinner choices were good, rather expensive but food was amazing! There are plenty of restaurants by the town square to choose from if you want to keep to a budget. The room was very spacious, our bathroom was small and could have done with some refurbishment, the photos on the website are a bit misleading.

Review 19：We stayed on the third floor and there was no elevator, so we had to take the stairs. That wasnt such a big problem for us, but for some people it might be.

Review 20：A beautiful small hotel in the city centre of freudenstadt (only two blocks away from the main square). We stayed on the third floor, on a triple room (we were 2 adults and a 5 y.o. kid). The room was spacious and clean with a view on the street. Stuff was friendly and breakfast was excellent (in quality).

Review 21：Close to the town and you can easily walk everywhere. Five minutes from the Stadt station (20 minute uphill walk from the Hauptbahnhof so worth changing for the Stadt). Nice breakfast although rather late on a weekend if you wanted to go out early.

Review 22：The internet connection was slow, especially in the evening. As I need it for work, this was really critical for me. It is located in a main road, so a little noise from traffic should be expected. The windows are double, which reduces noise a lot. In my case, it does not disturb, but it could be a minus for more sensitive ears...

Review 69：1. Our room was on the 3rd floor with no lift, and up steep stairs. And no one offered any help with bags and we really did struggle a bit. 2. Hotel is on a busy road, making parking a bit difficult. Also it was fairly noisy. That's fine with the windows closed as they are double glazed, but it was hot and there is no air-con, so it was noisy for us. For this reason, I was glad we were on the 3rd floor.

Review 70：1. Our room on the 3rd floor was a really good size and very light, and felt good to be in. 2. Good shower 3. Room had a kettle though did not supply any tea or coffee. 3. Breakfasts, with eggs cooked to order. Not quite the variety you would get in a bigger hotel, but good quality. 4. Location made it a useful base for exploring the Black Forest. Wasn't that struck with Freudenstadt as a town, but there are a number of reasonably priced places to eat, bars etc. 5. Friendly staff

Fortunately, I had my atmcard with me or it would have been a problem. There is also no lift, andlots of stairs, so this may not be the best choice for a mobilityimpaired individual.

Review 80：First of all, none of the descriptions above are correct. I wastraveling with my parents, a mature couple, and the three of us shared aroom. We had three heavy suitcases and three travel bags and the staffhelped us carry all up and down the stairs. They were absolutely lovelyand kind, willing to help, and very professional. Room was spacious andclean, great view of the street and part of the town, within walkingdistance to all of the attractions. Weather was terrible while we werethere, but they did everything they could to make it a pleasant stay.Their restaurant is great, breakfast fresh and delicious with plenty ofchoices and eggs cooked by request. I highly recommend their amazingdesserts, along with their coffee.
