Reviews for Hyatt Regency Mainz
Review 1:Bed was kind of hard and pillows very flat
Review 2:The hotel is beautiful with a contemporary décor. Everything is very clean, the staff is helpful and informed. The restaurant food was excellent as was room service. Beautiful mixture of old and new. Part of the building was originally a fort. The hotel overlooks the Rhine and has a wonderful river walk. Short walk into town with lots of quaint shops and restaurants.
Review 3:Twin given when booking said double (resolved) Breakfast & bar ridiculously expensive
Review 4:Staff friendly and helpful Well designed and comfortable Good position for Station & Mainz
Review 5:Could not accommodate a one day extension after booking due to Montag being completely sold out. Unfortunately I had to move myself and other business to the Hilton. As a repeat customer for more than 10 years with Abbott, I would have expected someone to help
Review 6:Location and service
Review 7:All employees were perfect specifically and special appreciation to Mr. Rasheed Araffaa, Tim Asmussen, and the concierge, who provided all what a guest needs and more. They made my time in the hotel joyful and interesting with many memories, which will make me return to this awesome and magnificent hotel.
Review 8:No problems with hotel but the car rental that was arranged with Sixt was extortionately expensive.
Review 9:Location, staff, room, bed, Terrasse and food. Easy access to transport for Wiesbaden, Frankfurt & Rhineland
Review 10:A very comfortable hotel wonderfully situated next to the Rhine with fantastic views from the bars/restaurant areas. An excellent place to relax. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Review 11:Good sized room, pool and hot tub were excellent for some R & R. We ate dinner one night in the Bell Pepper restaurant and food and service were exemplary.
Review 12:-Sewer odor in and around the hotel!! -Swimming pool is not really for kids, it's a spa for old people -Would expect more luxe for this price -Breakfast and parking way too expensive
Review 13:-wifi is fine! -Clean rooms -Supermarket around the corner -great location
Review 14:The service, both at the front office and the restaurants was great. The stark modern architecture - even though not usually associated with luxury hotels, was fantastic too. We could step out into the river-front walks any time we wanted, and the city sights, museums and doms were all all within walking distance, and so were some great restaurants.
Review 15:I found the bed mattress too soft and as a consequence didn't sleep well
Review 16:The breakfast selection was good (although only one person on the omelette station made it slow) They let us check-out late for free Staff were polite and helpful The location is good
Review 17:Very, very small point but the previous occupants room service plates were left outside the door and the tea and coffee facilities hasn't been replenished.
Review 18:Great room, spotlessly clean. Well worth upgrading to the junior suite.
Review 19:Nothing
Review 20:We liked everything! Good staff, great location, on site parking, WiFi, intimate bar. This is destined to be one of our favourite European hotels.
Review 21:This hotel is excellent. A bit pricey but you pay for what you get. The staff, room., facilities were all what you would expect from the Hyatt regency chain. Very impressive ++++
Review 22:My only quibble was in the bathroom where there is a good magnifying glass but it’s not on the wall, it’s on a surface a little below waist height so to use it you have to practically kneel on the floor.
Review 23:For some reasons I didn’t realise I had booked into a 5 star hotel. It lived up to all of its stars. It was Dr Who-like, seemingly larger on the inside than the outside – due to the mostly glass walls of the reception areas. Superbly designed, it takes a standard contemporary hotel layout and turns it into something special with changing natural light, imaginative use of the riverside area (including incorporating an old building as a chic bar) and lovely details and artwork everywhere. I was only there one night and didn’t eat in the restaurant but the breakfast with scrambled eggs cooked to order in the open plan serving area, was superb. Needless to say the room was perfectly comfortable and the TV the size of my dining table. Service, given that the hotel is big and perhaps focused on business clients, managed to be as charming as in a small, independent hotel. Location excellent for both ferry and town centre.
Review 24:Frankly Nothing.
Review 25:excellent staff eager to please you and make your stay enjoyable .Perfect location directly on the Rhein River, nice rooms with all facilities you need, specially with river view, air conditioned, with safe and free Wi-Fi and good parking .
Review 26:The location is good , 10 minutes' walk to the old town and on the riverside. Convenient and quiet. The breakfast is good with plenty of choices. Staff are friendly.
Review 27:Very fine woolen/fabric particles from the bed coversbed linen.

Review 30:View on the Rhine river; very friendly staff
Review 31:friendly reception, open vast lounge area, nice xmas decoration, good breakfast, bed available for our daughter
Review 32:really nothing!
Review 33:splendid personal service. Fantastic accomodation
Review 34:Beautiful architecture of old and new
Review 35:Finding out that the room I booked didn't have a Rhine view. My fault. Ididn't check.

Review 56:Location is great.
Review 57:Staff could've been more helpful in helping me find things to do in Mainz
Review 58:Didn't eat breakfast here due to price of $28 euros each. Most of Europe includes breakfast in price.
Review 59:Location & river view.
Review 60:the bed
Review 61:everything apart from the bed
Review 62:Having good location, staffs with kind hospitality, and services. Everything was perfect.
Review 63:average 5 stars hotel standard, beautiful lounge, great view from the room
Review 64:tiny bed
Review 65:Air conditioning system not good enough.
Review 66:The staff were the best, everyone.
Review 67:Loved the location on the Rhine River. The room was beautiful, modern and had a great view.
Review 68:The location, the riverside directly accessible, the Rhein view, the breakfast, the bar, everything.
Review 69:Grate location , helpful staff
Review 70:the river Rhine when you awake, the riverside in the summer nights
Review 71:Breakfast could be better for vegetarians vegans
Review 72:Location Room overlooking River Quality of fittings and fitments Staffing Gym an open at 6 AM W-LAN 10 Euro 24 hours
Review 73:In case you not decide to pay extra for Rhein view, be prepared rather NOT to uncover the window (driveway to the garage....)
Review 74:large rooms and bathroom, very comfortable;
Review 75:The surrounding streets are abundant from early evening.
Review 76:The views from the room on the Rien and the sunrise are marvellous. The staff are freindly and helpful.
Review 77:Regency club room was like a dr's waiting room with vending machines. No extra little luxury touches. Was nice enough hotel just not a top notch luxury hotel.
Review 78:Lobby is lovely Breakfast is great Showers fab Room lovely Staff great
Review 79:No free wifi! Only first 30 min. Considering it seems like a business hotel, it would provide unlimited wifi access.
Review 80:Good location close to subway, shops, river. Good restaurants within hotel.
Review 81:18 euro for wifi was a shock as budget hotels supply it free. 20 Euro for carpark also hard to justify.
Review 82:Excellent welcome by staff. Parked our bikes in a storeroom Room a good size, with high standard comfort, bath and shower! TV larger than at home. Kettle for tea and coffee.
Review 83:I'm probably not going to use those net of hotels - they always overcharge or preauthorize your credit card, what is a total crap. And after a preauth they do not bother to return money to card in a timely manner. Also it a bit worn and requires renovation.
Review 84:Average hotel, not worth the price asked.
Review 85:We asked for a quiet room and were given one with views of the river, which was lovely, but very noisey so didn't sleep well.
Review 86:Very clean, helpful staff and great location.
Review 87:TV's in the rooms are old fashned tube TV Bed Pilows and Cover are not so comfortable
Review 88:Fantastic location Nice and welcoming staff Nice hotel design Surprisingly excellent dinner restaurant
Review 89:The staff was amazing. Their management of a restaurant reservation mis hap was outstanding. The Bellpepper restaurant is wonderful. The location along the Rhine is stunning- a must in the area
Review 90:The hotel had a lovely ambiance about it. With a beautiful open lobby backing onto the old building with a glass roof and sun streaming in, it was incredibly welcoming. Breakfast overlooking the river with eggs being made fresh any way you want them made it a delight to get up in the morning. Get a room with a view over the river if you can - just a treat to wake up in the morning. My room wasn't huge but however felt just right. The bathroom with a separate shower and tub was great - wish I had one like it at home. Was there on business but it felt like a little treat to be staying there. Spa and gym were really nice too. Staff were friendly and helpful. I'd stay there again hopefully for pleasure anytime.
Review 91:I like everything
Review 92:I have appreciate very much. The Hyatt is a fantastic hotel: very confortable; great view to the river; modern archicteture sharing with ancient build; great restaurant with perfect decoration; unforgatable breakfast. Friendly staf; garage and a lot of facilities like a spa. I will really recommed it and I hope came back again.
Review 93:One surprise - they haven't changed to TVs to flat screens yet. Seems a bit out of step with the Hyatt brand and everything else about the hotel. Didn't really affect us, and it is apparent that due to the way the current TVs are set up this will be a costly exercise, but something to be addressed.
Review 94:The staff were outstanding. Have stayed at a lot of hotels and, as a group, all staff were professional, helpfull, attentive and considerate. From the time we arrived with a car the service provided was outstanding. The staff worked as a team and whether it was concierge, reception, lounge they all worked together and communicated effectively. The location of the hotel is great and is spacious, clean and welcoming. Although probably used mainly as a conference venue we found it a really comfortable place to stay as tourists.
Review 95:Nothing - loved everything. Chose not to have breakfast due to cost.
Review 96:Lived our room and bathroom. Spacious and luxurious. Great checkout time at 12 which gave us time to enjoy some sights. Veryfriendly receptionist which made us feel welcome on our first tripto Germany - unlike airpot personnel. Well done Hyatt. We woulddefinitely stay again.
Review 97:The room makeup service was very slow. Even after 4pm when we got back, the room was not still made and I had to call the housekeeping. Thehousekeeping is generally slow to react. It took more than 10 minutes tosend a staff.the internet charge was too high. they should make it complimentary. it was only 30 minutes for free and they charged us heavily. the breakfast was too expensive. what do you expect for 27 euros per person? in general, the good in the hotel is high. there was no small shop to buy food or beverages nearby.
Review 98:The ambiance was good and the design excellent, and it faces the river. The location is good.
Review 99:I checked in, showered, went out to meet friends for dinner. We thencame back to enjoy the hotel terrace with a last night cap of beer. Itwas 5 past midnight. I couldnt get a drink from the bar. The bar wouldntorder me room service. The reception staff told me that I couldnt orderroom service from there either, and when I asked if I was able to drinka room service drink on the terrace I was told "no". However, I wasallowed to get two beers from the mini bar and open then upstairs andthen take them to the terrace.I thought 4* hotels of international chains were supposed to accomodate guest wishes, and I did not think that a beer at midnight was an unreasonable request for an "international" hotel. In the morning I mentioned it and I had the beers and parking deducted from my bill to compensate, but that isn't really the point. I had expectations about the hotel due to the brand, and I felt surprised and frustrated by the experience.
Review 100:What I breifly saw of the hotel I thought was nice, and in a very nicelocation. The town and waterside is worth exploring, especially aroundthe old Cathedral and there is a resturant in a high ceiling chuch too.Lovely. I would recommend the hotel to someone who doesnt like to have alate drink in the hote bar :-) It is perhaps a little "corporate" too,but that should be expected of any large hotel chain. Overall, it wasvery nice and clean, and the room was great with a walk in shower room, desk with views of the Rhine.
Review 101:First we were given a room to the side street - overlooking buildings ,which needed some updating - but then we got a room overlooking the river Rhine . ( of course we paid for the upgrade ,which was fine and worth it ) So make sure you don't get a room to the side street and not a room under the Lounge on the fifth floor .( the lounge is on the sixth floor and they start to clean It at six o'clock ,which is rather annoying if you want to sleep a little longer .
Review 102:The service at the reception and in the dining room was excellent.
Review 103:The view of the Rhine is beautiful and the fact that the hotel isattached to an old fort can't be beat. Above all else, the staff hereare amazing. They were extremely helpful, took care of everything andfor my wife's birthday they had a cake waiting in our room. Johannareally looked after us and we can't thank her enough for making our tripworth while. Plus the price wasn't that bad, it was more midrange of ourtrip for comparable hotels. Some even more expensive hotels were farinferior to this one.
Review 104:Tv channel choice poor with bad reception
Review 105:Great reasonable central location and straight on the banks of the riverRhine, great restaurant with fabulous food and service (and view),breakfast choice reasonable (was expecting more) but phantastic quality, great decor / style throughout hotel
Review 106:I was crazy gettin to the hotel on rose Monday as they closed the roads... But I'll know for next time!
Review 107:The stunning river view... Sunrise was awesome !
Review 108:Amazing view from our room, great location to walk to the town centre, lovely spa facilities which are free of charge to guests. Rooms were very well furnished, maintained and cleaned. Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 109:My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and we loved it.Fantastic service, they spoke excellent English. The food we ordered forroom service was delicious. The room itself was nice, very clean, andhad a great view of the Rhine. Very quiet. The bathtub was big enough tosoak in. And the spa was excellent. Loved it.
Review 110:Only small concern was not so many shop and restaurant around because this hotel is bit far from city center.
Review 111:The room has offered pretty much enough space with cozy interior. Bath room also good design, which was also suitable for Japanese too. With this price, this hotel is very valuable to stay. Restaurant was modern style with elegant atmosphere, but friendly and welcoming us even with 3month old baby. My wife like this hotel very much, so we'll come back soon.
Review 112:Great location, very clean and well maintained.
Review 113:nothing
Review 114:the excellent location and ease of access to the city centre a short walk away I would recommnend this hotel to friends
Review 115:Only one choice of wine outside in the garden
Review 116:Great Staff, Great view, loved the wine and beer Garden outside, delicious food and great place to relax
