Reviews for Hotel Raices Aconcagua

Review 1:We arrived early (10 AM) but we couldn't check in until 1 PM. The lobby was crowded so we didn't feel like staying there until we check in.

Review 2:The pool and the breakfast were great.

Review 3:The older staff members are very rude and not helpful. Lifts were ridiculously old and slow. Laundry service was very expensive. Breakfast needs to include protein without having to pay extra, too much sugar!

Review 4:Location was a few blocks from the centre. Rooms were big and clean. Building has been renovated and looks great.

Review 5:Staff is not interested in giving you a nice treatment. In general, it looks like the hotel is trying to get as much money from you as possible. It is really expensive for what it is. You can go to many hotels that are cheaper and with nicer people. It tries to be a "premium" hotel but actually it is only an out-dated place to stay. Nothing is great, everything is average at best.

Review 6:Location is great, everything was clean

Review 7:The hotel, like most similar hotels in Mendoza city is basic and outdated/falling apart. I don't think it's worth the money-- but it's cheaper that other similar options! Also, there was a safe in the room, but unfortunately the lock had been taken out. Not the greatest signal. That said - no problems. Just a basic, somewhat rundown hotel.

Review 8:Clean, very helpful and friendly staff, seemed pretty safe.

Review 9:The breakfast was quite limited and there was no bar/ room service facility due to renovations - this would have been nice by the pool.

Review 10:Comfy beds, great location, friendly and helpful staff.

Review 11:Breakfast was bad and too expensive. Eggs were possible to order, but with extra charge. We booked this hotel thinking that it has a parking for free, but we were charged for its use. The safe was advertised as well, but finally they did not have enough keys. All in all, lots of advertising was fake.

Review 12:It has a good location and helpful staff. Engravings that decorate the lobby are interesting.

Review 13:Check at 10 am?! I wasn't definetly expecting that, even though they were tolerant with us and called to the room at 11.30 to check when we were leaving!

Review 14:The bed was really confortable and huge :-) Is really a king size bed!

Review 15:Slow check in, have to email them our booking confirmation and then wait 45mins until someone who knew what they were doing was available to check us in. On check out we had to wait for a maid to confirm that we had not taken anything from the mini bar which we had not declared, with the person it front of us it took 15mins.

Review 16:No one in the p.r. office of the hotel could help me locate a taxi company/driver to meet me at the airport. I sent 2 emails and received an evasive, non responsive reply to the effect: "There are plenty of drivers at the airport. You'll find it easy to find one." It was not easy. In fact, were it not for a couple from Mendoza that called their own contact for a remise, I would have been at a disadvantage in my wheelchair trying to hitch a ride. That reaction soured my trip before it began.

Review 17:location near 2 plazas.

Review 18:Very loud noises came through the walls, often waking us up or making hard to sleep.

Review 19:Excellent staff. Well located. Generally clean and well-maintained.

Review 20:Breakfast could be better, you have to pay extra for scramble eggs for example. All the other things was great, especially the staff.

Review 21:The bedroom was very comfortable and big, the staff was very kind and help us in everything we need.

Review 22:Bar, restaurant and pool were closed. Didn't want to pay for mini bar water so had to bring plastic bottles to reception for them to fill up. Sauna facilities dark, dingy and dated. Bathroom pretty dingy. For the continental breakfast from 10-12 we were refused a second cup of coffee. Overall a very poor experience.

Review 23:Not very much at all.

Review 24:Walls are very thin. If you are a light sleeper you will hear every word of the neighbors conversation, their TV, bathroom and doors closing. Parking is paid separate. Final price is not the one on Booking - add 21% which is the tax that everyone must pay. I said it was deceiving. Concierge said it's Booking's problem not theirs. :|

Review 25:Location was good. Close to restaurants and parks. Breakfast is varied (ham , cheese, bread, muffins, some fruit) but things like scrambled eggs are paid separate.

Review 26:The bed was terrible, extremely uncomfortable, we asked for a twin bed and instead of a twin bed there were two single beds together.

Review 27:The location was perfect

Review 28:Poor quality wifi, the pool was closed, the room a bit old, no possibility to change the temperature or strength of the air conditioning system and the tap was leaking quite a lot in the bathroom

Review 29:The staff was very professional and helpful, the situation of the hotel is great

Review 30:The room size is very small, when I book in at Booking.com, it says the room is super big room 24 square meters, but when I check in, it only has around 11 square meters, the room size is only 45% ~50%, I am not happy with this. Booking.com is lying this online.

Review 31:The breakfast service lady, her name is Brenda, she has very good service.

Review 32:Prices seem to vary (Booking.com vs their webpage vs what I was quoted over the phone) in the end Booking.com was the cheapest! Staff had limited knowledge of touristic activities, it is better to find one of the numerous hostels or tourism agencies to help make your plans and reservations.

Review 33:My friends and I reserved 2 two rooms for one night only. As we took the night bus over from Chile we arrived a the hotel at 7 am. We were eminently able to have breakfast, leave our bags in storage, use the free WiFi and we were even provided with small towels to clean up a bit in the bathroom. When we checked out they were equally accommodating and held our bags until we left for the bus station.

Review 34:Asked for a quiet room but they gave us a room on the side of the hotel that a band played until 1:00 in the morning. Internet did not work well in room. Breakfast so-so. Bedroom was small and dark.

Review 35:Thie room was dark and gloomy. The bathroom was small, cramped and poorly designed. The room had a strange impractical configuration. The breakfast poor.

Review 36:Front desk staff were excellent and extremely helpful.

Review 37:Business travelers may have a few issues as we are used to other type of service. First, after a long trip my room was not ready upon my arrival and eventhough they told me that they were working on it I felt that they could care less. Then I got to my room and it seems that they do not have Queen or King size beds in Argentina....they actually put 2 twin or full beds together for a Queen or King. I got one of those and it collapsed while I was sleeping.. next day after I complained they put me on a bigger bed....yes, it was also 2 bigger beds put together. Service is mediocre, very slow. Continental breakfast was great, a good selection of food however the floor was kind of dirty, full of crumbs everywhere. I have some other little things that bothered me but those are of my personal preference such as how small and slow elevators were, bathrooms were ok but I could use a bit more room on them. Ah, and please be ready if you have a request to use the phone in the lobby...I got this guy and he actually asked me to go back to my room and dial out (my room was on the 8th floor), I guess it was because he wanted to charge me for the phone call... Lastly, I asked if I could check out an hour later and they told me that they were going to charge me as well.....(they ended up not charging me since they gave me my room late and also the issue with the bed but I felt that they weren't too customer oriented...)

Review 38:Location was good, close to shops and downtown area.

Review 39:We booked an extra night on arrival - agreed at the same rate. The following day, reception called and tried to remind us to vacate the room. We told them we'd re-booked. Then the staff on the front desk tried to change the price but in the end we got it sorted. Could have been the language gap. In general the place was comfy, smart, stylish and the staff were great.

Review 40:Chilled out but very smart business hotel in a great spot for exploring Mendoza.

Review 41:We got the wrong room we asked for. Norestaurant/ pub (except dr breakfast), the outside lounge wasn't set up, no beverages at the pool, the spa was closed everytime we went to get a massage

Review 42:I left a suggestion for improvement that the staff could be trained in speaking portuguese also, as many guests are from Brazil. The WiFi offered is a nice feature but could be more stable.

Review 43:We had great difficulty getting on the intent from our room for the 5 days we were there. Our original room, while quite spacious, lacked surfaces to put our things on. We had to upgrade to larger room, which luckily was available, in order to have a place to put our laptop and other personal items.

Review 44:The food was outstanding and plentiful at breakfast, but the space was inadequate for the huge number of travelers that were there at the same time we were! The staff really hustled to clear the tables the minute that people got up to leave, so they did all they could to help a difficult situation.

Review 45:Restaurant was closed for reparations. They charge you for parking. The bathroom was rather old.

Review 46:Nice, big and cozy bed. Beautiful view of the mountains.

Review 47:Staff at reception desk was too expeditious at chek-in and should concentrate on 1 customer at a time for a more pleasant experience. Check-out took too long.

Review 48:Very nice place with pleasant inside garden Person in garage and busboy were excellent Breakfast was good

Review 49:The elevators are slow and the WiFi only works in the lobby and not in the rooms.

Review 50:The breakfast was delish! Lots of options. Rooms were clean and comfy. The pool was really nice. The staff did everything to help us (kept our luggage, booked our excursions, etc). Very nice hotel in a key location.

Review 51:The hotel is dated and understaffed. The restaurant was being renovated and we weren't notifyed about that while doing the booking, breakfast was average and Wifi very weak.

Review 52:The pool

Review 53:A large hotel and a little too impersonal. Internet was a little spotty.

Review 54:The location was great. Close to many restaurants. Also, the breakfast was pretty good.

Review 55:some of the reception staff were not very helpful, we would ask them to help us with the arrangement of the hiking or wine tour and they would tell us we have to do it on our own. Luckily i spoke some spanish and could arrange it, but it is not very client oriented if you visit different part of the world and hotel is not interested to help.

Review 56:pool area, breakfast, room was OK, one of the staff was very helpful

Review 57:Service (rejected the support for booking a table) & costs ($140 for one laundry of a set of T-shirts and and underwear is criminal energy in my mind)

Review 58:Pool & location

Review 59:Almost excellent. Small inconveniences. Rooms very small, not even room for a chair. Rest./Bar was not open. Staff brushed off questions several times -- and we speak Spanish well. Very tight with things like extra toilet paper. Clearly watching every penny.

Review 60:Good location. Recently renovated. Great bed. Good breakfast even if not a full buffet as promised. Gym very small but new equipment.

Review 61:Breakfast was okay, they charge extra for eggs. Check out is at 10.30 am. Rooms need some re-modeling and new air conditioning.

Review 62:Pool Lobby w/ AC

Review 63:Elevators are really old and slow, Breakfast is a very basic comparing with other hotels in the same category. If I understood correctly you could pay some extra and get eggs or something additional but no one told us

Review 64:Good location, nice lobby, we got a big clean room with the nice view to the pool and mountains, comfortable bed. In general it's an excellent hotel for the money we paid

Review 65:"les bras casses" in France describes a team that has no idea of how doing a decent job. This club is a slapstick. from reception to not doing anything about an obvious problem for 12 hours and not solving it, they are perfectionist

Review 66:4 stars but bar not kept open, was a restaurant, not kept open. Pool closed without prior notice, Slow and dagerous lifts... Monster hotel. Personell ont motivared att all.

Review 67:Staff at front desk a little slow. When we checked out, front desk staff did not explain that we needed a card key to exit parking garage. Got trapped in between 2 sets of gates until we could get someone to let us out (by yelling for help). We did not like this at all - being trapped with no way out.

Review 68:Very nice hotel with a great outdoor pool. Good breakfast. Nice room.

Review 69:Breakfast could be improved; it is a petty that they do not give a better use to their open patio.

Review 70:What we liked most was: location and the care given by the staff.

Review 71:Primary problem: noise. Windows have got single not double panes and you get all the noise of the city's night life. Much noise is caused by the cleaning ladies who start at 7:00 with loud talking, phone calls and smashing doors. Second (not a real problem): breakfest buffet is OK, but if you want something more substantial (some fried eggs or so) you have to pay extra (a small amount). Rather strange behaviour for a **** hotel!

Review 72:Correct and friendly staff. Large and well equipped room. All in an excellent shape.

Review 73:My room was too hot and the air conditioning really did not work well.

Review 74:This was a great hotel. Clean, comfortable with lots of amenities. Located right in downtown, easy to walk to all sorts of great places.

Review 75:The wifi reception in the room was terrible. We had to sit in the corridor. When that didn't work we sat in the lobby for an hour struggling to get connection to make travel arrangements. We finally approached the guy at reception who advised we could use the computers on Level 2, which could have been helpful information when we first asked for help with the wifi. Then checkout took about 40 minutes because one lady was on the phone and the other person couldn't check us out. Very frustrating. Other than these two inconveniences, the hotel was great value for money, and we still would recommend.

Review 76:The hotel is new and very modern. The rooms were a good size, clean, and nice hot showers! Over

Review 77:Was quite a generic, business hotel - lacked character.

Review 78:Clean, comfortable and in a great location for walking into town - particularly the theatre district with lots of restaurants and things to do.

Review 79:Early check out by 10am not ideal. Bar, restaurant and pool under renovation.

Review 80:Superb location. Walking distance to centre as well as main park. Very helpful staff who provided useful tips and advice. Good sized rooms.

Review 81:Poor wifi

Review 82:Convenient location

Review 83:breakfast Not included

Review 84:fantastic view

Review 85:Location was perfect and the staff was friendly. Pool area was great on a hot day.

Review 86:Asked for a room with two separate beds. They sent us to 3 different rooms before they finally found us a twin room!!

Review 87:Our room (presumably our floor) could use a renovation.

Review 88:Really good location, breakfast was great too. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 109:mala aislación del ruido (interior y exterior)

Review 110:Buena ubicación y conexión con el transporte público.

Review 111:Wifi is not accessible easily. No food or bar facilities besides breakfast

Review 112:Staff is excellent, good location

Review 113:Todo perfecto!

Review 114:Hotel massage and the great references of where to do our hair/make-up for the wedding just acrossed the street

Review 115:Great central location, very clean, great pool (unheated), really helpful staff, good breakfast selection.

Review 116:The hotel staff were homophobic, we felt abused in their hotel. The manager offered his apology but too little too late. Avoid
