Reviews for Hotel Roemerstein
Review 1:The hot water in the shower took too long to heat up in the mornings and at nights.
Review 2:I liked the location of the hotel, the fact that it was quiet, the provision of evening meals well cooked and well presented, the range of food available for breakfast, and the helpfulness of the staff
Review 3:The staff were amazing. I had a bit of an unfortuante stay in Mainz, lost my possessions and passport. If it hadn't been for the staff at the hotel I don't know what I would have done. I don't speak a word of German but despite this they made every effort to help me, letting me use the phone and internet to make contact with my family, and making sure a room was available for me on short notice so I had somewhere to stay in the interim. Thank you!
Review 4:Nice and quiet located in a quiet area. Good wifi allowed me to stream Netflix. Breakfast area was very nice and the breakfast had many things to choose from. Got a room on the top floor with a balkony which was a nice surprise. Good value for money.
Review 5:Hotel is hard to find. Shower took a long time to get warm. No food on Sundays.
Review 6:Very friendly staff and good food (breakfast and dinner). Bus near by to go to the city.
Review 7:Triple room was a double bed with air bed, small and very warm under the roof, not what I expected for 130 euros a night.
Review 8:Breakfast, cleanliness and staff were all good
Review 9:Very quiet hotel in a charming residential aera, walking distance to the university campus and to the bus stops, free wi-fi working very well, amazing german breakfast buffet, smiling staff
Review 10:Difficult to find, even with GPS, hotel is off of a side street from the named street. Look for a small brown sign on the street sign post that show in only one direction. Enter the address as 136F in your GPS. The letter may get you to the back street. It is on a residential street at the back side of the university on an icy street in winter. Restaurant and bar were closed for the holidays.
Review 11:The stay was quiet, probably because the hotel was nearly empty in the week after Christmas. Nice Greek restaurant about 3 blocks from the hotel.
Review 12:In my opinion, for that size of the room and location 80€ per night without breakfast is too much.
Review 13:The hotel is small and cosy, friendly and helpful stuff
Review 14:The first night the room was extremely small for 3 of us and very hot. No AC and no possibility to open a window. It took a while before we ere able to get a change of room. The second time around we received ver nice room with a balcony. No complaints after that.
Review 15:The breakfast was amazing and the internet was free and excellent. Good location and very clean.
Review 16:Friendly staff; Big room and bath; location
Review 17:Nothing to dislike, although we would have liked a kettle in the room to make a hot drink.

Review 23:Close location to university. Ample parking, friendly staff.
Review 24:The desk was small which for someone needing to work in the hotel room was minus. Otherwise plenty of space for clothes and large bathroom.
Review 25:It was very close to the main train station - a mere 5 min bus ride - and it was in a residential area, thus very quite. Supposedely it was also close to some Roman ruines but has I when went for Business did not had the chance to visit. Staff was very friendly and the internet connection very good and hassle free.
Review 26:We booked a room for three, knowing we needed extra room. Unfortunately they put us in a room made for two with a blow up mattress for the third person. We were comfortable....but cramped.
Review 27:The hotel was modern and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The staff were helpful and friendly. Mainz is a lovely town.
Review 28:Absence of dark panel on roof window to protect against the day light, early in the mornings.
Review 29:Breakfast was fantastic and special requests were considered; availability of car parking spaces (free of charge).
Review 30:They change the towels and made the bed on daily basis but they do not do a thorough cleaning service daily.
Review 31:Great location, with a bus stop really close and the University just a few minutes walking. Staff very friendly.
Review 32:1. Internet is not an option in this hotel! 5 euro per hour or 20 euro per day is extremely high price for internet. If you need internet for work or want to stay connected with frineds during your holidays, this hotel is not best choice! 2. Some personnel on reception does not speak english.
