Reviews for Welcome Hotel Marburg
Review 1:we ordered breakfast - it did not arrive and the hotel tried to charge us anyway! after half an hour of waiting we went downstairs - it was a nice buffet we also booked a comfort room because we had called to check if they all had baths - there was no bath only a shower - we were offered an alternative room but it was small and not as nice
Review 2:the room was spacious and had a green space outside loved the breakfast our dog was welcome even in restaurant
Review 3:Unfortunately, there are problems with the wi-fi. We could barely use it in our room. In the future the hotel needs to update or change the routers or their location.
Review 4:We really liked the location of the hotel and the excellent breakfast.
Review 5:When we arrived at the hotel, the front desk was ready for us with check-in info at hand. Hotel is conveniently located in town shopping/entertainment/restaurant area and bus stops. Staff was pleasant.
Review 6:The parking garage was right under the building, but was not explained about having your ticket validated everyday, other wise it was convienent. The shower stall was very small.
Review 7:It was right in the center of the city, close to shopping. Free breakfast every morning.
Review 8:The delicious sounding dishes in the restaurant are advertised everywhere. When we got to the restaurant we were told there was only a buffet, no a la carte service. Buffet was adequate, but then we saw a la carte dishes being taken to other guests. Not impressed.
Review 9:A very comfortable room. Hotel has very good access to the lift to the old town. Breakfast was excellent. We got the last parking space in the underground garage as the hotel was full.
Review 10:A fair bit of people walking past and noise from the street, especially late at night, as if there was a nightclub nearby? Traffic started fairly early.
Review 11:Extremely friendly and accommodating staff, excellent facilities, the best breakfast buffet I have ever had, very clean, modern and bright room, breakfast included in the price made it excellent value for money!
Review 12:We had the unlucky side of the hotel where the street noise was. We still slept, just not soundly.
Review 13:Perfect place where everyone goes. Right across from the Oberstadt lift. A must to do. Breakfast was great. Parking was ideal.
Review 14:The atmosphere is a bit sterile, doesn't really fit the old town. Avoiding the (too) high prices of the parking garage is only possible for those with local knowledge who are willing to walk.
Review 15:Just across from the Alte Uni and the elevator to the upper town, the Welcome Hotel is a good place to stay in Marburg. It's clean and efficient, with a good shower, comfortable beds. The breakfast is quite good.
Review 16:Having a bath to relax in after exploring this interesting an friendly town. Breakfast was first-class!...and the "Ladies " room is to be recommended.
Review 17:- rooms were quite old and need renovation - only public parking space (you get a small discount via the hotel)
Review 18:- great location -helpful staff - nice breakfast
Review 19:Nothing
Review 20:Spacious and clean rooms. The hotel is close to several restaurants, the University campus, the river, the elevator to the old town. Great position! Breakfast is excellent, you get all sorts of food, I loved the orange squeezer for self-made juices
Review 21:Location was top. Staff was friendly. Hotel rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast buffet was good. We loved it and plan on returning.
Review 22:Not too far from the train station. Great location very close to the center. Very friendly staff.
Review 23:It's so near to every thing
Review 24:Non smoking room smelt of smoke ?
Review 25:Location.staff . breakfast .
Review 26:Too little choice in the restaurant. Very tight underground parking spaces.
Review 27:Good for business stay
Review 28:WIFI - internet very slow. Breakfast average
Review 29:location, flexibility staff
Review 30:Function of air conditioning poor
Review 31:Almost everything
Review 32:Location very good
Review 33:Well situated although an a busy street and without airconditioning on hot summer days
Review 34:location to downtown Marburg, large comfortable room
Review 35:WiFi was not good in our room, no problems once back to the reception area.
Review 36:Location was excellent for us to walk to the old part of the town.
Review 37:No in room tea or coffee making facility. Expensive mini bar especially for bottled water!
Review 38:Location
Review 39:all ok, good hotel.
Review 40:nothing in particular
Review 41:everything really
Review 42:Great location, just few steps from the old town. Very clean and friendly. Has a parking but costs around 15 Euro per day.
Review 43:Location, friendly staff
Review 44:No issues.
Review 45:Location is excellent, right across the street from the elevator to the old town. Breakfast was also very good.
Review 46:Das Zimmer hat nach Rauch gerochen.
Review 47:Laundry Punctuality
Review 48:Hospitality
Review 49:Hot room starting with a 4
Review 50:The rest was absolutely perfect with the location being the best
Review 51:Helpful staff, secure parking. The sightseeing is across the road
Review 52:some of the staff because of no guidance about the city, poor in helping - for example needed a charger for the laptop but they didnt had one even though it was mentioned in the brochure in the room
Review 53:the location the breakfast
Review 54:internet connection was limited and unpredictable, noise and vibrations from ventilator in a bathroom were horrible, lighting of room was very poor.
Review 55:Good value for money, big food choice at breakfast, reasonable room size, cleanliness in a room and in a bathroom, good location close to old town.
Review 56:The WiFi was down for 2 1/2 days of the three that we were there. The rooms were modern without any drawers. We like to put our belongings out of sight. There are no room safes but things can be left in a room by the desk with safety deposit type boxes. The guest keeps the key but can only access it with a staff person.
Review 57:The breakfast was really good. One young man, Simon Wetzel, was particularly helpful and cared that our stay was pleasant. The others didn't seem to be concerned. The location is really good-- across from the elevator to the Upper town.
Review 58:It wasn't wi-fi connection all week through.
Review 59:Against the central location, the hotel is very quiet. The rooms are spacious and the braekfast is delicious.
Review 60:Shower curtain was light weight material and kept drawing in towards me - I really don't like making contact to hotel room shower curtains.
Review 61:Breakfast was well stocked. Location to the elevator up to the old part of town was right across the street.
Review 62:Breakfast was a bit chaotic and badly organised. Also you took payment for all of one room and none for the other and payment for that room was expected on departure... As a customer this was confusing
Review 63:Everything really
Review 64:Management supervision of breakfast was non existent with orange juice running out completely early one day and no one filling up other buffer items at all on the second. The provided towels were almost worn out - does no one ever check their quality in a 4* establishment. No coat hooks for outdoor clothes in room.
Review 65:Room very comfortable.
Review 66:Internet although it worked - not on all devices and room 108 has no access
Review 67:Staff were good and moved me due to Internet issues second room much better than the Ist
Review 68:location is very noisy, facilities (AC, internet) did not work properly, the room was extremely hot, very expensive in regard to value for money.
Review 69:central location, comfortable rooms, nice restaurant.
Review 70:Aircondition didn't work room was hot at night. Couldn't open window due to streetnoise
Review 71:Excellent location Easy parking underground. Nice room with view of street Friendly staff Great breakfast
Review 72:The wlan was lousy. With iPad I needed to re sign in the hot spot endlesly. The angient slow public computer at reception is a nightmare. It took me 50 mins ! to do the fligt check in and email the boarding pass to reception's email to be printed. Staff was hellpfull, but could do nothing about it.
Review 73:Excellent location, friendly and service minded staff especially the house keeping staff. Breakfast was ok in variety and quality.
Review 74:Staff was not very friendly. This hotel has more style than substance and was overpriced. Locating the hotel was a bit difficult, but parking was easy.
Review 75:Location. Cleanliness.
Review 76:The breakfast is very well; only the breakfast-room cold and impersonal.
Review 77:Modern and very correct hotel, in the centric Pilgrims' Street: 500 m from the cathedral & front to the fascinating old neighborhood. Very friendly staff.
Review 78:Room 123 is next to the lift, which rumbles & vibrates through the wall. The location, though convenient for the sights and the lift to the old town, is on a traffic island & rooms can be noisy. Breakfast was overcrowded as the restaurant doubles as a public cafe.
Review 79:Location is excellent, with on-site underground parking. The rooms are clean & comfortable. Staff friendly & efficient.
Review 80:Front of hotel---Not impressive with smokers and a tapas restaurant crowding the entry. Outside signage cheap
Review 81:Location Breakfast buffett evening dining staff arrival staff and early day staff
Review 82:The rooms where hot a night. Difficult to sleep with open windows, due to the trafic noise.
Review 83:Good location, very close to the city center. Easy to park a car.
Review 84:excellent location, breakfast was very good, stuff was helpful and friendly, it was very clean everywhere. I was with my family and really enjoy and recommend this hotel
Review 85:Quoted 20 Euro per day for parking (so used multi story 100m up the road) Hotel had unpleasant odor in the public areas (drains). Old town facing rooms can be noisy in the early hours with youths making their way home.
Review 86:Hotel is located in central Marburg facing the lifts to the old town. Spacious rooms and bathrooms. Comfortable beds. Excellent buffet breakfast.
Review 87:Friendly, comprehensive, low-key, professional staff; clean with pleasant and very tasteful decorative touches; fantastic location and views of Marburg from rooms and vistas; breakfast varied and excellent; waitstaff attentive and discreet. An air of 'efficient luxury', yet very priceworthy.
Review 88:Housekeeping could have been better - tables were dusty. The shower doors made the shower space very small in our room. It was hard for my tall husband to shower without banging his arms.
Review 89:Great location. Modern fixtures in room. Very comfortable bed.
Review 90:I had dinner at the hotel restaurant and was not perfectly happy with my meal, but that may be a matter of personal preference.
Review 91:This is a perfectly clean and comfortable hotel with friendly and competent staff, and an excellent breakfast buffet. This hotel is ideal for a short stay in Marburg; it is centrally located which gives easy access to the Altstadt with sights, shops and restaurants.
Review 92:No laundry services on sat and sun..(( No answer to my calls toreception, had to wait for 1.5 hour for an iron..( Room was notrenovated last 5-7 years??
Review 93:Good Location, nice window view, rather clean
Review 94:The breakfast choice was supreme, except for the lack of HP Sauce! Ketchup is just not the same at all. You really should get some.
Review 95:The staff were always helpful, despite having to speak to me in English, and the air-conditioning worked!
Review 96:Nothing. The only minor drawback was that the staff stopped replenishing the breakfast buffet too early, which led to limited selection if you arrive later in the morning (0930 on a Sunday).
Review 97:Proximity to the old town (the lift up is just outside the hotel). The hotel delivers on what it promises and gets the job done efficiently.
Review 98:We booked a non-smoking room, but were allocated a smokers room thatsmelt terribly of stale smoke. We complained and were moved toanother room right away, but this mistake should never have happenedin a well run hotel
Review 99:Good location right oppositie lift to historic upper town.
Review 100:A better explaination on how to get out of the garage would have been helpful.
Review 101:The location was great. Very close to the elevation that took one up to the old town. The food and service in the hotel restaurant was excellent.
Review 102:The room was Full of incect and mosqeto . The cleaness is under the Standard .
Review 103:Just the Location .
Review 104:no safe in the room
Review 105:excellent location for visiting Marburg very friendly staff very good breakfast
