Review 1：Soft bed.
Review 2：Room as advertised: tiny, but clean, warm, and comfortable. Sink & teapot in the room. Free WiFi. Shared loo & showers: clean. Perfect for solo traveller with little luggage on a budget. Excellent 'Nordic' breakfast, fresh and nutritious. Very friendly staff.
Review 3：The staff was very friendly, the breakfeast buffet excellent. I had a nice room, it was very quiet. Not much traffic on the road in front of the hotel, which by the way is very near of the center of Kiel

Review 6：i could'nt park my X5 in the small space available next to the hotel and had to walk to the next public parking and pay 20 euros. there's no lift. our room was in the top floor and no help was offered to carry our bags. i think that for this old hotel (very shabby front) euro 108 with the basic breakfast, was definitely way too expensive.

Review 8：Staff couldn't be bothered to reply to my question if I had left my camera in my room after departure. While the rooms are very modern and tastfully decorated, the bathroom is very dated and the corridors are poorly maintained (more like a lower class boarding house that has been given a lick of fresh paint than a boutique hotel) eg thin carpet on stairs, needed to go outside to get to room, chipped tiles on entrance to hotel.

Review 23：The staff are dishonest. They gave me a smelly room that probably haddry urine on the carpet. I went out in the evening and when I got backthe carpet was wet, someone, staff, had put water on the carpet. Thenthey accused me of putting urine on the carpet. I did nor see this atthe time because the pipes under the sink were leaking a little so Ithought this was the problem and staff would see this also. But now Isee it was a set up a special member of stall was brought in to bully meinto paying 179 euros. If you are an older or vunerable persontravelling on your own I would not recommend this hotel.

Review 25：Room stank was too tired went to bed although difficult to sleep withsmell in the morning I realized that the carpet was wet from drippingunder the sink. Told staff at breakfast time but message not passed onreturned to collect luggage in the afternoon and asked to pay €179 torepair carpet nothing I said would alter the determination to getmoney out of me the hotekl are not telling the truth the the room hadbeen checked before I used it I am not looking forward to going backthere tomorrow

Review 29：The name of the hotel "Basic hotel am Sophienhof" is quite right - it's very basic. So - very small room. The floor is quite cold. But if you are planning to stay just 1-2 nights it's OK.
Review 30：Location - just 3 blocks (10 minutes to walk) from railway station. Not far from the city center. Relatively cheap. The breakfast was OK. The personnel was helpful.

And if doable (and I am willing to pay an euro more for that), I would also like to have fresh bath mat for replacement in the shared shower room...it felt not so nice to step on a damped bath mat after someone had used it. (But perhaps I could just have worn slippers).

Review 46：The hotel is located in the center of the city,very close to the maintrain station and yet very quiet. The room is clean and not too small.The bed is comfortable, breakfast is good. So, it provides all the basicneeds and it is absolutely very good value of money.
Review 47：the house itself could use some modernisation (carpets, curtains seem to be from the 50's, the entire house seems to be quite old, but there has not been done much work on it) if you are stay in a room in the second floor, you will not have internet (signal is not strong enough) and need to go to the lounge. That is a bit annoying.
