Review 1：The rooms were up three flights of stairs. Not a hotel for the unfit.

Review 2：Breakfast was excellent and the service was terrific. The rooms were pleasant the bathrooms up-to-date.

Review 3：Quiet location with a beautiful garden and grounds. The rooms were large with plenty of light from the many windows. Our host was friendly and attentive, yet knew how to give us space.

Review 7：I liked the breakfast very much, it was delicious and enough food for 2 people - I was by myself. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was conveniently close to the train station so that no taxi was required. There's a Greek retaurant close by with excellent food.

Review 8：The spiral staircase to the bedroom could be a bit treacherous, especially on midnight trips to the first floor bathroom. Though the grounds themselves were impeccable, the location is a bit odd - on a bumpy back street opposite an abandoned lot, though in some ways that makes it feel like more of a find. It's a bit of a trip to the main hubs of activity for boating, etc. in the Spreewald - not a problem, though, provided you have a car (which we did.)

Review 9：We stayed in the separate cottage, which is quite spacious with lovely reading nooks and a full kitchen. A beautiful read brick building set in the gorgeous garden, we couldn't believe our luck on our first stop on our honeymoon trip through central Europe. Very welcoming and private space, really felt like ours alone. So lovely.

Review 28：On the first morning we sat at the 'wrong' table, even though both were set for breakfast. This made the lady serving breakfast very grumpy and this made us feel uncomfortable. If it is so important then just let us know which table to use and we will happily sit there. We also got properly told off for leaving a pair of shoes on the mat, which were apparently in the way. Given we had just come from the hospital with our daughter (Tropical Islands injury!) it wasn't a priority as to where her shoes were and at least we had taken them off so the floors stayed clean for everyone. Probably just feeling a bit delicate at the time, as for the rest of the stay everyone was very welcoming and happy to help with directions to places of interest etc.

Review 29：The house is absolutely lovely, it does look just like the photos and is beautifully restored. The garden is huge with lots of things for children to enjoy (trampoline and sandpit). Our family room was perfect, with a separate bedroom for the children up a spiral staircase. You might want to ask for a stairguard if you had younger children but for us (children aged 7 and 9) it was fine. The breakfast was plentiful and included in the cost, making it excellent value for money. The location is good for Lubben, Lubbenau and Tropical Islands but be aware there is a train line just next to the house - but this didn't bother us at all during our stay.

Review 31：Interior of Villa very warm, made with such love and attention to every detail that you'll never find in any hotel - you feel like spending vacations at grandmothers house. Our kids enjoyed trampoline in the garden very much.

Review 32：There are so many small/odd shaped windows it is difficult to find good coverings for them. If you need to sleep in a black room, this is probably not the place for you, especially in summer when days are longer. Lack of solidly covered windows might also cause some to question privacy..the bedroom upstairs still seems quite private, though the 'tower room' (kids) is not. This wouldn't keep us from staying here again, though!

Review 33：There is nothing bad at all to stay about Villa Fortuna! If I were to go to Berlin again, I would definitely day trip from here. The staff is fantastic & very attentive to any inquiry/need. Breakfast was lovely, the cottage we stayed in was absolutely fantastic. It sleeps 5 & we were 4, but there was plenty of room to move around & just relax. For kids, they will love the 'tower room' but as a couple, I'd highly recommend the cottage as well…a totally romantic getaway with bedroom upstairs & kitchen/bath/living downstairs. Decor is really lovely in vintage shabby chic…someone has some talent! It smells nice & there are nice bath products. The kitchen is very well equipped & there is a grocery store a stones' throw away! There is also a train station not very far at all, which is why I would recommend it for Berlin day trips. Also a 20minute drive to Tropical Islands. Located in a neighborhood, noise is not much of a problem (except the drunk guy on Christmas night!)
