Reviews for Hotel Heymann

Review 1:The only downside was the stairs but that's part of what a lot of European smaller hotels have so not unexpected.

Review 2:The staff were efficient and friendly and very helpful.

Review 3:The parking was tight but we were grateful to have parking available right in the middle of the downtown.

Review 4:The staff was amazing and accommodating of all of our needs. Great experience!

Review 5:Sunday check in was limited to just a few hours. I arrived early in the afternoon and had to wait for a late afternoon to check in.

Review 6:The room was spacious and very clean. The staff in attendance was very helpful whenever I had questions. Fantastic breakfast each morning!

Review 7:The room was very very small and the bathroom even smaller. It was extremely noisy and when we asked if we could move he said no he didn't have any free rooms. He said shut your windows but then it is so hot with no air movement at all. We asked if we would be charged if we left a day early and he said yes if he could sell the room. He didn't even try - the sign on the door stating the hotel was full was never removed. Warning - not the place to stay in Kaiserslautern.

Review 8:The breakfast in the morning was great, but be prepared to be charged for the water you are served. We were asked if we would like gas or still water and so we responded, but you won't be told it is a charge until you check out.

Review 9:Same old boring continental breakfast just seems lazy on the hotels part. Difficult stairs.

Review 10:Located in the heart of town and their was a street music festival on (early September) Secure parking was a bonus.

Review 11:I highly recommend this hotel. We are a family of 4 and the room was just the right size. Patricia and Boris were very accommodating and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the hotel is in a great location!

Review 12:As an experianced hotel visitor I have to wonder where it got all of it's stars from or such a high rating. I'd rate it a mid seven. The rooms where small and reception was closed by the time we arrived (8.00pm) which was inconvenient. The beds have the wrong type of matress and pillow protectors and make for a sweaty night's sleep. There's no restaurant and breakfast is a "no choice" continental style brought to the table, although the quality of the food is good. A fair, clean hotel but untimately over rated and rather over priced for what is available.

Review 13:This hotel felt quite modern and clean, it had the quickest and easiest wifi to connect to and our motorcycles were kept in a secure car park behind the hotel.

Review 14:Great hotel and location. Very helpful when giving us ideas on what to do and the pub a few steps away made the whole experience perfect. Every room is decorated differently and the bathroom was just very cool to see.

Review 15:The stares were very challenging particularly for a woman of 69 years of age and resonabley fit for her years. A lift would have been appreciated.

Review 16:The room was lovely and clean but very hot, Air Conditioning should have been provided as the fans just didn't prevent the uncomfortable heat.

Review 17:Only TV channels were all in German.

Review 18:The staff (owners) was great and I checked in earlier due to my flight. The place is very clean and chic. Wi-fi was very fast. The restroom was clean and well supplied. Ladies there is a hair dryer that is fast at drying long thick hair. It's a place close to downtown and the majority of it's attractions. It will not disappoint!

Review 19:The pillows could be a little firmer.

Review 20:Owners were very nice and thoughtful. Location is great, new mall practically at the doorstep and lots of restaurants within walking distance.

Review 21:Room very small. In relation to size of the room and missing items such as: fan, electric waterboiler, super king size bed, radio, alarm clock is the room too expensive.

Review 22:The breakfast and staff were excellent.

Review 23:Wonderful hotel in the perfect location for where I wanted to be. Extremely helpful and friendly family run establishment. The breakfast was exceptional, fresh and delicious. Cannot recommend highly enough especially if you want to visit the new Primark store

Review 24:The parking onsite had to be paid for and was not easy to park the car. On street parking was not really an option. The room decor was rather dated

Review 25:The owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was one of the nicest we had during our 2 months of travel.

Review 26:The guy at the desk was outstanding - friendly, full of information, caring, patient with all my questions! He even managed to produce a tie from his Dad for my first Conference Day! That was a life-saver!! Good location in the heart of Kaiserslautern. Will definitely come back when I have to return to K-town!

Review 27:The owners made us very welcome, even offered a drying area for our wet motorcycling gear. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic. The place was immaculate, comfortable and very well set up.

Review 28:The owners were extremely accommodating.

Review 29:The most private hotel I have ever been, even if it's located in the center of a town. I felt like home almost.

Review 30:No Bad to report.

Review 31:I liked that it's family owned and ran. They were by friendly and accommodating.

Review 32:Location is difficult, and access is problematic.

Review 33:Great folks running this hotel. Super hospitality.

Review 34:Awesome food, very clean, and right in the middle of town. Friendly and helpful staff. Great value for your money.

Review 35:Hard to find because it's in the city center with the closed roads. Lack of air condition in the room.

Review 36:Good hotel in the good location

Review 37:not

Review 38:room , staff, attitude, location, breakfast

Review 39:Far from train station

Review 40:2 bedroom room was spacious, wifi connection good, beds were comfortable, breakfast was traditional European breakfast.

Review 41:general comfort

Review 42:Excellent breakfast individually served at the table!

Review 43:sound proofing not as good as i would have hoped.

Review 44:location, comfort, staff helpfulness

Review 45:I enjoyed every aspect of my stay: front desk service, breakfast, and comfort of the room. I will definitely return.

Review 46:The construction site nearby...little bit noisy

Review 47:Location, breakfast, cozy place

Review 48:heavy construction started before 7 am each day about 50 m from hotel. extremely loud

Review 49:Great staff, on-site parking, breakfast was delicious

Review 50:No air conditioning or fan in room.

Review 51:Reception and cleaning staff were excellent. The breakfast and staff were excellent.

Review 52:No bar of soap No face cloth

Review 53:Very friendly helpful staff

Review 54:Awesome room, service, breakfast was beautiful and lovely, room was well decorated, our 10 year old son loved it, and the staff were nice enough to contact us about something we left and mailed it back to us! Good location!

Review 55:Arrived by train. Small taxi fare to hotel. Room clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was outstanding - more than we could have expected. Definitely recommend this gasthaus!

Review 56:The room was tiny but most hotel rooms in this area are very small so it was comparable.

Review 57:The owner was delightful! He was super friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. Also, the breakfast was fresh & delicious and more than two people could eat! I would totally stay here again and I highly recommend it!

Review 58:Couldn't find anything we didn't like

Review 59:The hoteliers Boris and Patricia have this hotel so well decorated right down to the tiniest details and the cleanliness was perfect. Breakfast was phenomenal. Best hotel we've stayed in out of the four on our trip

Review 60:Parking can be a wee bit tight if you're driving a large car...fortunately, Boris was quick to come out and park the vehicle for me.

Review 61:Boris is an extremely accommodating innkeeper that goes the extra mile to make sure you have a wonderful stay. I greatly appreciated my individualized breakfast each morning. The beds were extremely comfortable and the modern bathroom was well equipped. All in all, it was a great place to stay for two weeks.

Review 62:My Father-in-Law (aged 89) came with us to see his Grandson and his Wife and to visit the Christmas Markets. As there was no lift he struggled a bit with the stairs to our rooms on the 2nd floor, although that didn't spoil his enjoyment and he found the other facilities excellent.

Review 63:The Hotel was well placed for our needs and the Staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were welcoming, bright and well equipped, the bed was extremely comfortable and everywhere was spotless. Breakfast was excellent and really set us up for the day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Heymann and would love to pay a return visit next year before our Son moves on to his next Post Doctoral Research Position. Thank you to everyone for making us so welcome. xx

Review 64:I was in a room overlooking the road called MuhlstraBe at the front of the hotel. This street gets a lot of quiet foot traffic during the day, and is quiet on weeknights, but on Friday and Saturday nights, people were out partying late, walking up and down the street yelling until about 5:00 in the morning; I even heard people in surrounding buildings yelling down to the street for everyone to be quiet. This is not the hotel's fault, just something to keep in mind. A room at the back of the hotel would solve this problem.

Review 65:The owners were very friendly and were helpful any time I had a question. The facility was very clean. Breakfast was delicious and abundant, including meat, cheese, vegetables, fruit, bread, butter, and jams. :-) The room was very quiet during the week; I don't recall ever hearing guests in other rooms. I was able to do laundry at no additional charge (there was even soap!). I would definitely stay here again! The location was great, with the shopping district and some of the sights within walking distance; everything else is easily reachable by taxi.

Review 66:Because of a huge construction project, the hotel is cut off from most of the near-by pedestrian-only streets requiring a long walk around the project to reach them.

Review 67:Very friendly staff, room had some surprisingly good amenities such as robes and slippers and a good breakfast for a very good price

Review 68:The beds are too hard for my liking. Also, there is major road construction occuring nearby which begins early each morning. Breakfast is only offered until 9:30 am.

Review 69:Excellent breakfast. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The staff very helpful. Location is good.

Review 70:We had unusually hot weather during our stay and the hotel isn't air conditioned but they do supply the rooms with efficient fans. No elevator which is the only thing in my opinion which prevents the Heymann hotel from becoming a four star hotel. They were however very helpful in carrying our luggage upstairs.

Review 71:Super friendly and helpful staff and rooms were clean and good size. The breakfast was extremely delicious with a great variety of breads, meats cheeses and spreads as well as fresh fruit and yoghurts. The coffee was one of the best I've had. The hotel is close to shops and transport and has free wi-fi which we discovered wasn't included in many other hotels we stayed in. A great place to stay and I'd definitely recommend it to others.

Review 72:Friendly, helpful welcome and good advice regarding local restaurants. Individually prepared breakfast with excellent selection of produce beautifully presented - so superior to run of the mill buffets usually offered in hotels of similar standard.

Review 73:Nothing.

Review 74:Very clean. Very trendy, boutique style rooms. Great location. Excellent staff. Fantastic breakfast. Overall, very good indeed and great value.

Review 75:Private parking garage was very nice. Staff member that opened up for us was very kind and recommended some restaurants. Room was small but perfect for 2. Location was very close to walkplatz and a couple pubs. Nice place for a night getaway in K-town. Breakfast was offered but we overslept and missed it.

Review 76:Very clean, comfortable and quiet, very nice staff and great breakfast. The hotel is very close to downtown Kaiserslautern, restaurants, shops and attractions are in walking distance

Review 77:Secure parking. Continental Breakfast.

Review 78:Staff not on premises 24 hours. No elevator. No lobby/seating area.

Review 79:Very helpful owners/staff.

Review 80:Rooms are small

Review 81:Excellent breakfast

Review 82:No elevators.

Review 83:Very comfortable and clean. The most amazing breakfast! Great location.

Review 84:The carpet, which smelled - as most of the carpets do.

Review 85:the warm welcome and explanation about the town.

Review 86:Breakfast was amazing!! Staff was very friendly and enjoyable. Excellent room and great location.

Review 87:Breakfasts served at the hotel are pieces of art!

Review 88:The host (Boris) was very nice and gave me a great feeling as a host in the hotel.

Review 89:The proprietors were very helpful, and went out of their way to help us find places we had visited 40 years ago. The breakfasts were delicious!

Review 90:Nothing

Review 91:Care and attention of the staff; the breakfasts; the cleanliness
