Reviews for City Hotel

Review 1:Just beware they are not staffed all the time, be prepared to call the phone number and get a code to open a lockbox to get your key.

Review 2:Nice place, wifi worked better than the 5 star down the street we also stayed at, overall good deal!

Review 3:Open from 7 until 14.00 and from 17.00 until 19.00 o'clock. Before I arrived the lady at the reception call me (two times) that they close at 19.00 o'clock. I had to be there before that time. I explained her that I am on the train . In the end it was very stressful....I had to take a taxi to bring me at the hotel before she closesd. If I had this information in advance I would not book this hotel. You can not call ? outside the room, Breakfast is all the time the same not worth the money. The room was cold for three days. Old furniture.

Review 4:You can reach the Hbf in 5 to 8Min. The lady who cleaned the room is amazing.

Review 5:Lack of clarity on website about restricted check-in times. Curtainss in bedroom far too thin to keep street lighting out. Signage for hotel difficult to see

Review 6:Felt dirty and grubby because of carpets and patio. Ugly view of suroundings. A little uncomfortable with area but nothing really happened.

Review 7:Bathroom and beds seemed clean. Location was okay close to town and walking distance from train station.

Review 8:Honestly, I didn't even stay --- after sitting in the room for 30 minutes, I just didn't feel comfortable staying. The location was next to strip clubs and gross bars. The rooms were outdated with 1970s decor, green stained carpet, and the wi-fi didn't work. Unbeknownst to me, the room was a suite with a single bed in one room and a double bed in the other --- I didn't know if I was supposed to be sharing with someone! The staff left early (before the advertised 8pm) and so I was unable to speak to them about it and just left a note that I would not be returning. Also --- when re-looking at the website I realized that most of their photos are for the apartments - not the hotel rooms. So be sure you know what you are signing up for.

Review 9:On arrival no one was at the reception. They said I had to call or give them my phone number, which I, as most foreign visitors, dont have in Germany.

Review 10:Unmanned reception and not sufficient phone contact. It is not pleasant to talk to an answering machine outside the hotel. We were told we were the only guests that have had problem with this, but the following day another guest had exactly the same problem. The room is large, but the shower is wery small with curtains. The bed is the most uncomfortable bed we have slept in for a very long time (very hard and if one of us moved the other one woke up because of the noise). In comparison we stayed at a three star hotel in Frankfurt for about the same price, but very pleasant in all respect.

Review 11:Locaction, large room

Review 12:When I complained about the door outside my room always banging shut from people coming and going, I received no apology or even a hint of caring. After I mentioned to the lady that customer service was essential to a good business she gave me a flat and unconvincing 'sorry'. I wasn't looking for anything in return just an acknowledgment for my complaint and a genuine caring manner. Hotels like restaurants are a dime a dozen. I will not be recommending this place to anyone!!!!

Review 13:Dirty room. Poor breakfast. Noice from the other rooms go though the walls. Reception is only open in the mornings and between 17.00-19.00 in the afternoon.

Review 14:Great location. Cheap pice.

Review 15:it was rather small but the room had a balcony

Review 16:Part time staffed

Review 17:Friendly receptionist

Review 18:Parking lot is small with no lights. Breakfast choices are limited.

Review 19:Close to centrum, parking available, nice staff

Review 20:All parking slots were occupied. After 19:00 there is no one from the reception in the hotel.

Review 21:Breakfast very meagre

Review 22:Room with balcony Great situation

Review 23:Near to the city center + central railway station.

Review 24:When I checked prices and booked the hotel, the double room with one occupant was the same price as the double room with two occupants. I planned to travel alone so I chose the double room with one occupant. A friend visited the room and I had to pay $72 euros more. That's not "Excellent", nor is it "Good" or "Fair."

Review 25:The location is in the city center

Review 26:No fan in the room. It was usually warm for that time of year in Germany (May 18th - May 24th), and with no AC or screens, a small fan would've been nice. Also, no way to do laundry.

Review 27:Very clean room and courteous staff - even loaned us an umbrella when we forgot one!

Review 28:Wi-fi was very poor. Either it didn't work at all or it was extremely slow. I couldn't really use it. The reception was open only occasionally during the day. Not as it was defined in the web pages. Five boards out of 15 were missing from the bed and the mattress was hanging in the air without any support for 1/3 of its length. Sounds incredible but I have pictures to prove it. Made a written reclamation via email because of these and there was no reaction from the hotel. During checkout a modest "sorry" from the receptionist.

Review 29:Location

Review 30:The breakfast was poor, little choice, not much coffee. Not value for money.

Review 31:The rooms were great, clean and tidy, they were modern and comfortable. Good location for the town.

Review 32:They did not gave me the room which I booked they said, you made it reservation 6 months ago prices has changed till than so first they asked extra money I did not gave, than give me another smaller apart. No wifi, I stayed for a week they could not fix wifi problems all this time!

Review 33:Apart was nice.

Review 34:The location was challenging to find. We got a parking ticket ! We were not told we had to buy a parking pass before 8 am.

Review 35:Although the Hotel is older, the rooms were very spacious and clean. The breakfast was included and was good. We had a very comfortable stay.
