Review 2：Great location - few minutes from Titisee. Has a supermarket and a gas station nearby. Good breakfast. Very nice staff, available at any time.

Review 3：The restaurant - just for dinner - we did not try Director / owner of the hotel - received us when we arrived after a journey of 6 h - at 9:45 pm. Tired and hungry, he explained that as such it's impossible to order food and said we can go eat at the pizzeria. We did not like the approach, and we chose not to eat dinner at the hotel

Good location Breakfast wealthy and varied The hotel is clean and tidy Diana Winter - reception and working also in the breakfast room - very polite, attentive and give help with any request, made a very early breakfast before heading out. Concern for everything that we asked. Politely and with great joy. In addition, a maid named Michalh- very thorough and responded to every request quickly and happily. Is very pleases to meet such people

Review 17：It's just another guesthouse - not a hotel, it's run by a couplewith a small kid and doesn't give a comfort/level ofprofessionalism of a hotel. The furniture/whole interior is old andpretty basic, the premise itself is located far away from anyattractions of the region, rooms are claustrophobically small and ...smelly! The WiFi is not available in some rooms, the restaurant isclosed around 8:30pm, so forget about dinner if you come back to the"hotel" later (no other restaurants in the area). No menu inEnglish, the waiters at the restaurant don't speak English.

Review 24：Excellent location for skiing in the area. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good food at the restaurant, and we would choose to eat there regardless of staying at the hotel. A good restaurant in its own right.

Review 25：Room was not cleaned properly. For example gum from previous guest wasstill in the trash bin, toilet paper was not much left on the holderand there was no new papers. I has to ask the staff late night to getthe new one. Too far from the skiing place and the bus operates onlyevery 2 hours.

Review 27：The room was not warm enough and was smelly. As we asked for a room were we could have our dog, they gave us the one that had a terrible smell of precedent dogs. Lots of their fur could also be seen. If they don't know a good brush could do miracles, and they sell now at supermarkets, spray to finish with bad smells in tapestry. Not nice cause my dog doesn't smell.

Review 28：The owner was young and very friendly. Poor guy had to wait till midnight cause we had a late arrival. Next morning he allowed us a late check out. No lunches were available.

Review 29：We had stayed at 4 different hotels on this trip. One in France, two in Switzerland and one on the Mosel in Germany. Hotel Waldeck was the best night's stay of our whole trip. We wished we had stayed more nights at this hotel instead of some of the others. The owners were friendly and welcoming, the rooms were large with comfy beds, clean and well equiped and the food was fantastic. It was also the best value for the room and the food on our entire trip too. The thing about touring in Europe is you just don't know what you are going to get and sometimes hotels are a great disappointment or don't live up to the reviews. We would definately recommend Hotel Waldeck to anyone. Whilst the hotel isn't in the most scenic location it's not far to travel to some of the more well known areas (for which the hotels in these areas were very poor and very expensive!!)

Review 31：The location is great. The food brilliant. The tourist card giving freeaccess to black forest activities ideal for families and children. Thelocal train station less than five minutes from the hotel goes to bothlakes as well as Frieberg.

Review 32：The food was fantastic at both breakfast and evening meal. Room was very comfortable. Hotel was nicely placed for access to railway station and Southern Black Forest. Parking was on the road outside but plenty of availability and experienced no problems.

Review 33：Hotel waldeck is a little jewel and it is kept polished by its owner andthe staff, who are all extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating.They all speak good English. The rooms are large and comfortable andvery clean. It is also an eco-friendly hotel.The vegetarian food was excellent and I would compare it to some of the best 5 star hotels' cuisine. The wines were well chosen and prices of the food and wines were very reasonable. As for sightseeing, Hotel Waldeck is placed in a perfect spot for all sorts of hiking trails etc. It is also about 45mins by car from Rhine Falls, Europe's biggest falls, in Switzerland. On top of all this, the hotel manages to offer all this at a very reasonable price I can not sing enough praises of Hotel Waldeck and would suggest that anybody looking to visit that part of Black Forest, ought to try it.

Review 34：It's a general country side hotel. We book this hotel for their famousrestaurant mentioned in previous comments. Unfortunately, we did notspot out at the booking site that the restaurant is closed at our stay!(It mentioned in the confirmation email but we did not spot it outbefore we departed) We were referred to anther restaurant nearby calledDxxxKrug. The food there is nice!

Review 35：Its a cozy historical hotel for 2-3 generations. The old style livingenvironment let us feel the old days in the Black Forest. What is morelovely is that we requested for "Sunny egg" in the breakfast and theymade for us! The lady server in the restaurant is nice and lovely!

Review 40：Hotel Waldeck was a wonderful, family-run hotel with a chef-owner! Themeals were delicious (probably the best croissants I've ever had) andthe service was always friendly and courteous. Our room was spacious byEuropean standards and was updated and clean. It was very quiet atnight. Not a lot of street lamps, so the stars were brilliant! The onlynegative was a minor issue with our door, which was difficult to lock.But we figured out it was that the door was not exactly aligned in theframe and just needed a jiggle upwards on the handle for the key to thenturn and lock.We were pleasantly surprised by the 2-day ski lift passes and free hours at the nearby pool/spa in Titisee--all included in our hotel price. Our children were able to enjoy the indoor waterslides at the pool after a day of skiing, snowboarding, sledding and snow-shoeing in nearby Feldberg! Overall, a wonderful long-weekend stay! Herr Stoll speaks very good English and was a pleasant host. We will be back!
