Reviews for Hotel Rango

Review 1:The staff was incompetent and unhelpful with very poor English.

Review 2:Hotel Rango is located in the very center of the old town in Pilsen. It has a very good restaurant.

Review 3:Room #123 needs some maintenance in the bathroom: fix/secure toilet paper holder, water faucet in the sink, and fix the pedal that opens the trash can.

Review 4:Excellent location - can't get more central, near great pubs, restaurant and main city square. Hotel staff is extremely nice and professional. Great restaurant/pub in the hotel. Highly recommend both hotel and the dining establishment. If you plan to visit Urquell pub in 20m from the hotel make sure you make advance reservation to secure a table in the evening.

Review 5:Not a bad experience per se, and we knew going there that we'd have some stairs - difficult with a special needs daughter - but the staff was so helpful and considerate.

Review 6:Location. Super friendly, helpful staff. Lovely room, with the facilities we needed - even a good size parking area at the rear. Great restaurant on premises, we ordered room service...again, the staff bent over backwards to ensure everything was in order.

Review 7:The wifi didn't work in the twin room, everywhere else it worked.

Review 8:Especially the Superior Room was great! I totally recommend the hotel restaurant, great food&value for money, very nice staff.

Review 9:Breakfast was excellent with freshly made choices of the breakfast menu.

Review 10:We stayed one night and were pleased with the spacious and meticulous room. The staff was accommodating and very helpful in arranging transportation to the train station and finding out the best travel arrangement. She also made a reservation for the next night.

Review 11:Too many stairs, but we lived with it.

Review 12:This is an excellent location at a great price. The staff was very helpful and met all of our needs. The breakfast was basic but very good; eggs and such are cooked to order with a small buffet for everything else. The location is one block from the main square and a ten minute walk from the brewery.

Review 13:No lift. Very small room. No real window (in roof). Nowhere to relax. Bed looked terrible, but in fact was quite firm enough.

Review 14:Location. Good breakfast with friendly service

Review 15:Without air conditioning, we left a window open overnight. There was a bit of street noise; a car or trolly once and a while, sometimes some loud bar-hoppers.

Review 16:Great location very close to the city center and within a 10 minute walk of the train station. Reception was very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable, modern and clean, bathroom was very clean and bright. Bed was firm (typical for Europe) but more comfortable than average. Right above a restaurant with great reviews (where we did not dine because of the overwhelming cigarette smoke).

Review 17:Some minor shortcomings... The hotel is accessed through the smoking section of the restaurant, and the door to hotel reception does not close automatically, meaning if it is left open then smoke fills the hotel reception area—not a great welcome in that regard. Despite being advertised as having a laundry room, the hotel only has a pay-per-item service, and they "don't do underwear"(?!). I had planned to do washing during this stay, so had to find a laundromat elsewhere. On my third night there were noisy people staying in adjacent rooms who could be heard quite clearly.

Review 18:Friendly staff. Great room (Room 5) with plenty of space, a huge and comfortable bed, and a separate bath and shower. Definitely a cut above the average small European hotel room, yet very reasonably priced. Perfectly located in city centre. Quiet in terms of outside noise despite overlooking tram track. Hotel restaurant is excellent.

Review 19:In the heart of the little town. Walking distance from the Pilsner Urquell brewery and the town square. Great restaurant downstairs, friendly staff and reasonably priced.

Review 20:1. Very slow Wi-Fi, 2. Waiter with poor knowledge of English, 3. Expencsve private parking - to comapre with the public, 4. Prices for dishes in restaurant could be a little bit less.

Review 21:1. Wide range of dishes for breakfast, 2. Very nice location, just few steps from market square, 3. Clean and comfortable place, 4. Underground restaurant with amazing atmosphere.

Review 22:The only reason I didn't give a 10 score was due to the parking situation. The hotel only has very limited parking (only 2 normal-sized spaces from what I could see), so it is important to make reservation with hotel early and hope that someone isn't in your space the day you arrive.

Review 23:- Very clean/updated room located above the restaurant (we didn't eat dinner there, but understand it's a top-notch place to eat Italian/Mediterranean fare) - Great location in Plzen (1-minute walk to main square and 10-minute walk to Pilsner Urquell Brewery) - Very friendly/helpful receptionists at check-in and out and staff at breakfast - Wonderful/varied breakfast - Too bad we only stayed one night.....without question, we'd stay here again on return trip to Plzen!

Review 24:Kitchen fan system right outside the bedroom meant it was quite noisy and we couldn't have the windows open on a hot night. No onsite carparking - had to use public carpark about 10 minutes walk away and pay extra.

Review 25:Buffet breakfast was good and for me better than cooked breakfast. Location just around the corner from the city square and within walking distance of the things we wanted to do meant we could just leave the car in the carpark.

Review 26:Nothing, it was a great place.

Review 27:Michaela was wonderful at the front desk. She was so helpful and friendly. Loved our stay here, only here one night. Would love to come back and stay longer! Took a taxi from the train station. Great location for the Pilsen Factory, a short walk.

Review 28:Since the tram way is crossing from the front side of the hotel, it's a little bit noisy.

Review 29:Just 50 meters away from the town center. It has a great restaurant in front of the hotel and the meal was delicious and cheap.

Review 30:Lack of non-smoking restaurant area. The beds were a bit uncomfortable with thin mattresses.

Review 31:Very convenient for the city centre and for visiting the Pilsner Brewery. Very nice welcome from the lovely and helpful receptionist(s). The room was OK and overlooked a 'garden' within which the restaurant ventilation kit was situated, which caused it to be a little noisy in the room at night with the windows open. (No a/c in the room but none included so this was no surprise). We stayed for two nights and had a nice meal in the basement restaurant the first night but the second evening was spoilt by people smoking. Three areas to eat - outside, ground floor, and basement and none of them were non-smoking! Not really good enough nowadays, especially in an enclosed basement area! We complained to the staff but they said there was nothing they could do. However, the breakfasts were excellent.

Review 32:Room was quite hot, shower was small, parking difficult with only 6 spaces available.

Review 33:closeness to the main square and the Italian Restaurant downstairs.

Review 34:Nice hotel in the heart of Plzen. Very close to all the sights. We must have got one of their rooms which hadn't been modernised yet, but it was spacious and comfortable enough. Private car parking at the rear of the hotel which needs to be pre booked. Car parking is a good price. Very friendly hotel staff.

Review 35:The hotel is very centrally located. The rooms are small but well-appointed. The bathroom was very clean and the shower soap smelled nice. The wifi was free and fast.

Review 36:The hotel's private parking might be insufficient - make sure to make a reservation in advance.

Review 37:Very friendly staff in a pleasant and nicely decorated small hotel, where attention to details makes this place very cosy and warm. For dinner we recommend the hotel's excellent Italian restaurant, where you can choose from a fabulously restored gothic cellar or a cosy street-view terrace. The hotel offers a fair but well prepared breakfast, included in the room's price.

Review 38:No lift but helpful staff. No safe but good security.

Review 39:Location close to square. Four separate dining areas including street side and charming cellar. Good use of space, modern and smart room design. Walk in shower appreciated.

Review 40:No ac...but then there's no ac anywhere!

Review 41:Loved the location, its in the middle of everything, short walks to all the sights and 9 min walk to the train station! Breakfast was amazing! The staff was friendly and spoke English. Loved it!

Review 42:We had a 39 degree day, no aircon (which is typical for Europe) so room was hot, but not too bad,

Review 43:Friendly staff, great command of English, excellent location, free WiFi

Review 44:It's a very nice little hotel just in the center of Pelzen, 1 min from the main square. The staff is very attentive, we had a wonderful stay there.

Review 45:room was slightly disappointing - think it might have been loft/attic room. Was still very modern & clean with nice bathroom

Review 46:Restaurant, cleanliness, location, staff, sitting out in cafe on street, atmospheric restaurant

Review 47:I cant think of anything - I want an excuse to go back and meet the staff again :o)

Review 48:Two of the most wonderful members of staff in reception - put our motorbikes in a private garage, made sure we were comfortable and happy with the room. Very clean and great location.

Review 49:I wanted thank once again the fantastic receptionist that helps us during the first night when our little baby got sick and we had to run to the hospital She was absolutely helpful and professional She woke up in the middle of the night to help us. , calling a taxi and so on Also she was kind in assisting us during our stay Thanks again emiliano , ania and giulietti

Review 50:Some street noise (yelling) in the early morning hours when bars closing, though expected due to hotel location.

Review 51:Central location to historic Plzen. Exceptional food at restaurant in hotel, breakfast options made to order. Excellent cleanliness, staff very helpful and accomodating.

Review 52:Room is a bit tiny along with the bathroom but we were only there for one day so it wasn't really a problem.

Review 53:Close to everything we going to see . Clean room. Great restaurant down in the Cave. Wi-fi was great.Staff helpful.

Review 54:no foreign cable tv stations; very small tv screen

Review 55:location; very rich breakfast buffet; highly committed staff; excellent food in the restaurant on the ground floor;

Review 56:We stayed in room number 5 which was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant in the cellar was cosy and the food was good. Paul & Lisbeth

Review 57:As non smokers and used to smoke free environments in UK, it was frustrating to have to walk through a smokey restaurant to reach the hotel reception. In spite of doors, the smoke would also permeate to the accommodation areas. (the restaurant area for breakfast was displaced from the smoking area)

Review 58:Easy to find just off the main square and close to the transport systems. Our room was new, clean and tidy, albeit compact.

Review 59:It would be nice it there was a mini fridge in the room. Just a suggetion though!

Review 60:The hotel was located in the city centre, very close to all major attractions. They served delicious breakfasts. Rooms were comfortable. Wifi worked ok. Good value for money. We were particularly impressed by the receptionist - Ida who made our stay very nice! She was extremely kind and helpful.

Review 61:I've changed rooms, first one was very, very small, the second one had the window on the ceiling exactely above the bed, which made me catch a cold. Even if I was alone and used one single bad, they charged me for the whole 3 beded room.

Review 62:Location, staff

Review 63:It was hard to find parking near the hotel. It was smokey when you entered.

Review 64:The staff was amazing! Very friendly and also very beautiful! The place looked like it was run by models... It was right downtown, so easy walk everywhere.

Review 65:Cigarette smoke from downstairs restaurant wafted throughout the entire hotel. No soundproofing (noises and conversations in the hallway could be heard VERY clearly in the room), hotel seemed a little expensive for Pilsen

Review 66:Newly renovated, very close to main square, receptionist was very friendly and resolved issues very quickly, great staff

Review 67:The rooms over the restaurant seemed a bit smoky though it wasn't too strong.

Review 68:Location was perfect--quiet and convenient--but can be a bit tricky to drive there with the road construction. Clarify the parking arrangements prior to arrival or park at the modern parking structure nearby. A short walk to the main square, the cathedral, the brewery, and the brewing museum/underground. Very nice restaurant and breakfast.

Review 69:Smoke in common areas Cellar restaurant is not for non-smokers Bed was worn out Missing tea/coffee/safe in room

Review 70:Location Classic style Staff Restaurant

Review 71:The room smelled of cigarettes. There was smoking inside the hotel restaurant as it seems that smoking in buildings is not banned in the Czech Republic, which comes as a shock for travellers outside the country. My room was a small single room on the top floor and there was no WIFI signal. The breakfast choice was good but the yogurts were warm as they were not put on a refrigerated slab (unlike the meat and cheese).

Review 72:I liked the location, the cheap price, the quietness of the room, the choice at breakfast, the very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 73:Breakfast arrangements were a little unclear, but not really a problem.

Review 74:Location was absolutely in the centre of the old town. The hotel hadsecure parking at the rear. The receptionist was so helpful and sweet(before 2015 European City of Culture, Plzen's tram system beingupgraded so the hotel street was temporarily closed) she came out intothe street to guide us into the carpark from the detour. Very close toeverything including the famous Brewery.

Review 75:The location was near to all. Great walking distance. Now for the staff, we can not say enough, they were absolutely wonderful, each and every shift, both week and night and weekend. The breakfast was ok, but then we ordered a bacon omelette and were very satisfied.

Review 76:Room was a bit small. No elevators, parking cost 6 euros, were not toldabout this cost ahead of time.

Review 77:The design, colours, lovely breakfast. Lovly room - some what small.Center of town. Very pleasant hotel.

Review 78:We have spent excellent time in Bibione with my wife. The hotel is very nice, clean and located not far from the beach. Hotel staff is very nice and helpful. Greetings from Poland for Daniela and all other from the staff. Arek, Polonia.

Review 79:No minibar in room. No kettle tea or coffee.

Review 80:Checked in late around 11 pm so didn't see much on first night. I stayed in a tiny room (A ) which is a single room might not suit everyone. I was going to change to a double but decided to stay put as I was out all day no point. In front of the hotel is a lot of roadworks which starts at around 8am.. so if you are a late sleeper then it's not ideal for you. The breakfast was really good open buffet plus choice of omelette or scrambled eggs. Never ate a meal at night there so I cannot comment on the restaurant. Overall a good economic hotel to stay right in the center. Clean towels beautiful updated bathrooms. And although small very comphy bed.

Review 81:We were very warmly welcomed. The parking was provided. The room was small but clean and well equipped. Delicious food in the restaurant

Review 86:No elevator (it was commented so I knew it). Weak internet signal in restautant.

Review 87:Clean and located in center. Beutiful staffs in reception.

Review 88:no lift (the receiption is in 1st floor) parking place is a bit complicated

Review 89:all staffs are kind & capable. facility in the room is new and clean
