Hotel Continental

Hotel Continental descritpion
This hotel is located in the centre of Pilsen, adjacent to the Square of the Republic and City Museum.
Pilsen is located in the west of the Czech Republic, around 90 kilometres west of Prague. Built in 1895 by the famous Pilsner breweries, the hotel was purchased and renovated in 1929 by the grandparents of the present owners. Renowned for its breweries, Pilsen also has a historic centre, and boasts a 13th century Gothic cathedral and underground cellar network.
Most of the hotel has been completely modernised, yet still retains an old world charm and elegance. There are plans to style rooms in celebration of former guests, who include Ingrid Bergman, Marlene Dietrich, Gerard Depardieu and John Malkovich. Other guests that have also visited us are: Sonja Henne, Jack Benny and Generals Harmon, Heinza and Patton.

Reviews for Hotel Continental
Review 1:The bedroom furnitures quite old and classic but still in a perfect condition.
Review 2:Located exactly in centrum just few steps away from the cathedral. Buffet in new year dinner was delicious. There are also some good restaurants nearby. The sleeping room quite big and the bathroom was just renovated.
Review 3:No bad experience just wish they had laundry service as it's important for business people when out more than one week
Review 4:A very comfortable hotel and well positioned . The attached cafe , bar , restaurant are good value . The staff throughout are wonderful.
Review 5:There was no hair-dryer in the room. But the reception was helpful and they gave one.
Review 6:Hotel architecture was amazing. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. Wi-Fi is perfect. Breakfast is good.
Review 7:Wish it had tea making facility in the room .
Review 8:Comfortable and warm rooms with character. Friendly helpful staff . Great bathroom as I had a bath . Good hearty breakfast wether cooked or continental. Well positioned for the town centre and lots of restaurants.
Review 9:On one side of hotel is tram line and at another is popular park, so if you need real quite environment for your sleep, then is wise to book room oriented to inner courtyard.
Review 10:Great location - just bellow main square, one of best restaurants across the street and few good pubs with Pilsner Urquell in short walking distance (two or three blocks).
Review 11:There was no WIFI in the room (301). We were sold something that did not exist and feel let down. It was ok if you walked to the corridor, in fact it was very fast, but NOT in the room. Reported to reception in case router out, said they would let manager know, we heard nothing more. We were on the top floor and could hear the trams, lower floors may be a problem.
Review 12:We only had 3 requirements - parking, breakfast and WIFI. Parking was ok - we were lucky to get one if the few available, breakfast was good, The hotel is old and grandiose in parts, a little tired, but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was new, clearly refurbished recently.
Review 13:No bath. Only a shower in my room. A good one tho'
Review 14:A grand hotel in the old fashioned style. Chandeliers and dark wood. Has parking. Good sized rooms
Review 15:The room passageways are very dark during the day and the staircase is gated and locked at the first floor. A little concerning if there is a fire or emergency and the staff's assurance that they would unlock it in case of an emergency is a little naive. The shower drains was a little slow.
Review 16:Continental is a grand old lady, that on first look might seem past her prime, but she is a delight to be a guest of. We had three rooms, the double rooms had been updated to a contemporary style and the single was still a relic of days past. Ironically, the single room, stayed in my my elderly mother, was our favorite. parking is easy to access and there are lovely restaurants and cafes nearby.
Review 17:The street noise at night from the trams was loud, bring ear plugs.
Review 18:Delightful hotel, historic yet updated and modern without ruining the beauty. Comfortable. Convenient to all the central sites, the historic underground, Pilsner Urquell tour, St. Bartholomew's Cathedral, and many great restaurants, all are only a few steps away. The hotel is situated directly on lovely gardens that circle the old historic center. Breakfast was good and included a varied selection, something for everyone.
Review 19:+ Location, price, parking just in front of the hotel
Review 20:Room size
Review 21:Lovely room, great original features and good breakfast. Was attending wedding there and the staff and food were excellent.

Review 24:Great, comfortable, very well decorated room. Very convenient location. Enjoyed the short stay very much.
Review 25:A window on the past communist era!
Review 26:One window's lock was not functional.
Review 27:The establishment has a lot of character and seems not old despite of ancient fourniture in some rooms.
Review 28:Very hot in rooms... no air condition inside. We were in August.
Review 29:Place - in the centre.
Review 30:small and ugly windows
Review 31:stylish room with a big bathroom and bathtub
