Reviews for Hotel Am Frauenplan

Review 1:The smell in the room was quite awfull. The temperature in the room was very cold at the beginning.

Review 2:The location was excellent. The breakfast, celection was good and the staff was very nice and friendly.

Review 3:WiFi did not work without problems all the time; breakfast facility was a little small compared to the number of guests trying to get something to eat all at the same time.

Review 4:Location superb; very good beds; nice roof terrace; having breakfast outside was nice!

Review 5:Nothing

Review 6:Very well positioned right in the middle of town good secure parking, but you need instructions from the Hotel to find it. The rooms are all named after famous writers etc. that resided in the town in days gone by.

Review 7:The internet reception wasn't the best at times, but it was an option to rent a signal extender. I wasn't really using the internet so it didn't matter. Other than that, everything was great!

Review 8:Great location next to the Altstadt and within walking distance to more or less everything. Bus from around the corner brings you to and from the Hauptbahnhof. Lovely staff, no problem with checking in early or leaving my luggage after checking out. Extensive options for breakfast and the nice added touch that each room is named after a German cultural figure; I got Franz von Dingelstedt.

Review 9:Very difficult to catch wifi, even at the hotspot. No wifi in the room. Showercabin very small, bathroom spacious.

Review 10:Very nice location right in the centre! Room not very big but ok. Clean. Good breakfast!

Review 11:It was noisy at night when the sound of what seemed to be a large generator to the side of the building cranked up and seemed to vibrate in the room.

Review 12:Its location in the centre of the old city. The unusual layout with the old building at the front and through a courtyard to the more recently built annexe where we stayed.

Review 13:Rooms are above turkish bar and music is on till late, really hard to fall asleep coz its too loud. When i just moved in they even had some kind of concert there with gipsy-style folk...

Review 14:Rooms are really clean, service is great, they even had umbrella in rooms that helped alot bcoz it was raining all day long and i forgot to take mine. After all its a really great place to stay

Review 15:Unfortunately our internet didn´t work...

Review 16:The hotel staff is super friendly! The room was simple but absolutely clean! The location is perfect! Right in the beautiful centre of Weimar! The breakfast was awesome!

Review 17:There was some building work going on on the actual road, but little impact on the hotel and the square should look even nicer, once done.

Review 18:Loved the location of the hotel, very central, and my single room which was airy and in the old part of the building.

Review 19:Room and bathroom small and basic for the room rate

Review 20:Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location and lovely building. Great breakfast buffet.

Review 21:Very helpful staff, great breakfast and good location with private parking available.

Review 22:To small and to warm rooms and poor internet

Review 23:Poor wi-fi

Review 24:Location; restaurant attached

Review 25:Incredibly central....hugely convenient location

Review 26:Parking complicated to find, some members of staff not very nice

Review 27:Outdoor breakfast when weather nice

Review 28:wifi useless

Review 29:Breakfast and Parking

Review 30:The location is great, in the center of the city. Everything in the room is so clean, feels like at home. The Internet is fast. Recommend to stay in this hotel!

Review 31:Location: couldn't be better - about one minute's walk from both the Goethehaus and the Schillerhaus, and only a few minutes from everything else. Plenty of choice of restaurants very nearby. Close to a main bus route which connects to the train station. Outstanding value for money. Breakfast is available from 7 to 11 a.m.

Review 32:Nothing. It was just wonderful!

Review 33:The Hotel am Frauenplan is located in the very heart of Weimar and situated between two major attractions: the Goethehaus on the one and the Schillerhaus on the other side, both just 2min walk away. The hotel itself is an old manor house, originally owned by a countess, lovingly restaured with many original features i.e. the wide, wooden staircase. The rooms, all of which are named after a famous Weimar personality, are of a reasonable hotelroom size, plain in decor, functional and very clean. The breakfast buffet is very extensive and absolutely yummie. We also liked the fact that it is served from 9-11am as we are not early risers. The staff was very friendly and helpful and, as we booked very early, the price we paid for our stay in such a prime location was very low. The market place with the tourist information is just around the corner (< 5min walk), the famous Amalien Bibliothek is about 5-10min away, depending how fast you walk, and behind it already stretches the park. We can only wholeheartedly recommend the Hotel am Frauenplan and we hope we'll get a chance to stay there again.

Review 34:I wouldn't recommend this establishment to young people. It seemed to cater to an older, most German clientele. Also parking was very difficult; they ran out of spaces before we arrived and everyone was complaining. Luckily we found on the street parking and crossed our fingers about getting a ticket.

Review 35:Room was nice and breakfast was one of the best we had in Germany which is saying a lot. Could be a noisy location because it backs onto an open air cafe and of course no air-conditioning.

Review 36:Although the hotel was supposed to be an old historic place, our room was in a modern extension. It was comfortable but didn't have the charm we expected.

Review 37:The location right in the historic center of Weimar. Quite exceptional !

Review 38:Great location, easy parking, excellent price, attentive staff. The internet was also free and wireless. It was just around the corner from the start of the Christmas Market.

Review 39:The internet connections were not good. This aggravated my husband who requires easy access to email, etc. - even while on vacation!

Review 40:Great location and very nice room. If we had spoken German = or the staff spoken more English it might have been excellent.

Review 41:There was no one at the desk during the night.

Review 42:Great location, excellent price, attentive staff. The internet was also free and reliable, although I did not use the wireless connection.

Review 43:While the booking.com page indicates wifi, this is only in the publicspaces, and you are otherwise limited to a lan connection, which is finefor computers, but not for iPhones, iPads, and the like; cords areavailable at the front desk for a ten Euro deposit. We also experienceda discrepancy in the bill (concerning breakfast charges), which wasquickly resolved via email, but I would caution to review your bookingand final bill.

Review 44:The location is ideal, situated in the historic old city area, stepsfrom restaurants, and convenient to the historic houses and museums inthe city center.

Review 45:location, location and a great breakfast

Review 46:Difficult to find and the garage is even more difficult but very helpful staff took us to it.

Review 47:Location in the centre.

Review 48:no comment

Review 49:There is no parking space

Review 50:My room was new and almost perfect

Review 51:Value, excellent facilities, location

Review 52:small but comfortable room in great location.

Review 53:Close to the wonderful Goethe House. I was ill and staff helped get me to hospital.

Review 54:Havia uma obra muito barulhenta a poucos metros de minha janela.

Review 55:Do quarto; do cafe da manha

Review 56:Nice combination of historic building, modern comfort, convenient location and friedly staff.

Review 57:Hotel service by too few people. Diner too expensive for what's offered.

Review 58:Simplicity and freindly service
